A/N: Hello. Today, or rather tonight, is bconfer368's birthday. So, I decided to help celebrate by posting the first chapter of the next frozen story, "Frozen II: Rise of the Guardians". Happy Birthday, bconfer. :) Plus, that could be a treat for all who like, or love, the Frozen franchise. One more thing, though. After seeing the prologue, I felt like there should be a sort of disembodied being, voiced by Frank Welker, that was angry with the chaos. I also decided to add some humor into it so that it wouldn't be too scary. Anyhoo, enjoy. :)
Disney's Frozen II: Rise of the Guardians
Prologue: Enchanted Forest
It all started when Anna, Elsa, and Elric were playing together in a small, snow-covered area in their room, playing an apparent pretend game with a snow goblin as well as a snow princess, a snow giraffe, a snow dinosaur, a snow elephant, a snow bear, a snow mouse, an apparent mini snowman with a circle in its chest and a line in between its dotted eyes, and a gummy bear-shaped snow gerbil.
"Anna, Elsa, Elric!", Agnarr called.
"Bed time's soon!", Iduna added.
"Uh oh! The princess is trapped in the snow goblin's evil spell! Quick, Elsa. Make a prince, a fancy one! Oh, no, the prince is stuck too!", Anna spoke as Elsa made the snow prince next before Agnarr opened the door and noticed the three children playing happily with each other.
"'Who cares about danger when there's love?'", Anna quoted in a deep voice.
"Ugh, Anna, blegh...", Elsa reacted in disgust as Anna made pressed the snow prince and princess against each other, making it look like they're kissing.
"All disgusts aside, Anna, Elsa's right. Kissing won't save the forest. Elsa, if you please.", Elric asked before Elsa spoke up.
"The Lost Fairies are crying out!", Elsa spoke before making a trumpeting noise.
"What sound does a giraffe make?", Elsa asked before Anna mumbled in response.
"Search me.", Elric added.
"Never mind. They wake the Fairy Queen, who breaks the spell and saves everyone!", Elsa spoke as she made a snow fairy queen riding on a snow horse before tossing it a bit toward the snow goblin, knocking it down while the snow fairy queen and horse duo remained standing.
"And they all get married!", Anna added, hugging the snow animals.
"Again with the marriage thing, Anna? Really?", Elric asked.
"What are you playing?", Agnarr asked.
"Enchanted forest. The prince and the princess whoosh!", Anna replied.
"Hmm. That's like no Enchanted Forest I've ever seen.", Agnarr responded.
"You've seen an Enchanted Forest?", Elsa gasped.
"Wait, what?", Anna puzzled in surprise.
"You actually saw one of those, Dad?", Elric puzzled.
"I have. Once.", Agnarr responded.
"And you never told us this before?", Anna asked.
"Well, I could tell you now... If you...", Agnarr began before Anna, Elsa, and Elric climbed up the bed and sat up with giggles.
"Okay, now.", Elsa spoke up.
"Tell us now.", Anna spoke a bit excitedly, hugging Elsa and Elric.
"Are you sure about this?", Iduna asked.
"It's time they know.", Agnarr responded.
"Let's make a big snowman later.", Anna whispered.
"Oh, and can you make one of these animals come to life?", Elric added.
"If they can settle and listen.", Agnarr finished before Elsa, Elric, and Anna all held their breaths as Agnarr laughed a bit before telling a story, which, according to flashback, eventually showed the 4 pillars of the elements representing Air, Fire, water, and earth.
"Far away, as north as we can go, stood a very old and very Enchanted Forest. But its magic wasn't that of goblin spells and lost fairies. It was protected by the most powerful spirits of all... Those of air, fire, water, and earth. But it was also a home to the mysterious Northuldra people.", Agnarr began.
"Were the Northuldra magical, like me?", Elsa asked.
"No, Elsa. They were not magical. They just took advantage of the forest gifts. Their ways were so different from ours. But still, they promised us friendship. In honor of that, your grandfather, King Runeard, built them a mighty dam to strengthen their waters. It was a gift of peace.", Agnarr explained as it then showed one of the children chasing the leaves as another member set the pot above the rocks, which lit up with purple fire, another rode on top of the water, and another was being taken to a safer spot to help herd the reindeer before showing Runeard and the leader of the Northuldra shaking hands and then a dam being made.
"That's a big gift of peace.", Anna commented.
"And I was so honored to get to go to the forest to celebrate it.", Agnarr added as it then showed him as a young boy meeting up with the Northuldra people.
"Stand tall, Agnarr.", Runeard spoke, prompting Agnarr to stand up before then showing the two Northuldra riding on the reindeer circling around the crowd, who was outside of the circle, especially Agnarr, who took note of the water, fire, Earth, and air elements working up their magic, so to speak, before being drawn by the air element toward the one person he didn't expect to see, as it was carrying the girl up as she was laughing.
"I wasn't at all prepared for what the day would bring. We let down our guard. We were charmed. And it felt so... magical.", Agnarr spoke.
"Then, what happened, Dad?", Elric asked.
"Something went wrong. They were attacking us!", Agnarr added as his younger self turned around to suddenly notice fighting as Lieutenant Matthias went over to Agnarr to protect him.
"Get behind me.", Matthias spoke as one of the Northuldra charged toward him to strike only for it to be blocked by Matthias' shield.
"It was a brutal battle. Your grandfather...", Agnarr began as Runeard was promptly lifted up and tossed over the hill.
"Father!", young Agnarr shouted.
"...was nearly lost.", Agnarr finished as the boy then noticed that Agnarr was caught inthe cape by a branch before suddenly, the purple flames spread wildly as the water splashed around, the wind blew harder, and the earth landed on the ground.
"The fighting enraged the spirits.", Agnarr continued.
"Look out!", one of the fighters warned.
"They turned their magic against us all.", Agnarr spoke before his younger self was knocked unconscious and then, a set of bright, purple flaming eyes and mouth appeared in the wall of fire.
"Now..., all of you... BUUUUUUURRRRRN!", the voice bellowed before the fire spread all across the forest, burning the trees, and even one of the reindeer by the hoof as one of the flame's trails touched the hoof by the fur, making it grunt loudly in pain and panic as it tried to hurry over to the pond of water for relief, which rose up and then splashed down on it, leaving it sopping wet, but thankfully, relieved of the burn as it sighed before the wind blew hard on it too much, making it fly and caused him to land on top of a rock, puzzling it while everyone else was too focused on running for cover and shelter as purple embers floated around Agnarr.
"It was a swift and terrible purge. But then, there was this... voice. And someone saved me. I'm told, the spirits then vanished. And a powerful mist covered the forest, locking everyone out. And that night, I came home, King of Arendelle.", Agnarr finished as it showed a voice singing to Agnarr and was lifting him up as he started to stir as meanwhile, the fire vanished before a mist appeared and locked the forest away from everyone and everything else as it covered it completely before it flashed back to the present.
"Whoa, Papa, that was epic. Whoever saved you, I love them.", Anna spoke.
"I wish I knew who it was.", Agnarr responded.
"Yeah, but what happened to the spirits?", Elric asked.
"What's in the Forest now?", Elsa asked.
"I don't know. The mist still stands. No one can get in, and no one has since come out.", Agnarr responded.
"So, we're safe.", Iduna added.
"Yes, but the forest could wake again, and we must be prepared for whatever danger it may bring.", Agnarr responded.
"And on that note, how about we say goodnight to your father?", Iduna suggested.
"Oh, but I still have so many questions!", Anna whined.
"Save them for another night, Anna.", Agnarr responded.
"You know I don't have that kind of patience.", Anna sighed as Agnarr left and closed the door.
"Why did the Northuldra attack us anyways? Who attacks people who gave them gifts?", Anna asked.
"I'm not exactly sure. All I know is that something terrible happened that started it all. What I don't know is what that crime was.", Elric responded.
"Do you think the forest will wake again?", Elsa asked.
"Only Ahtohallan knows.", Iduna responded as she sat down on the bed.
"Octa-who-what?", Anna puzzled before Iduna gasped softly and sighed.
"When I was little... my mother would sing a song about a special river, called Ahtohallan...that was said to hold all the answers about the past, about what we are a part of.", Iduna explained.
"Wow.", Anna spoke in surprise.
"That sounds majestic.", Elric commented before Iduna chuckled softly.
"Will you sing it for us? Please?", Elsa asked.
"Okay, cuddle close. Scootch in.", Iduna suggested as the two young girls giggled and then scooted over to their mother's side before Anna fell asleep and she then placed her in the bed and then picked Elsa up as she sang and looked out the window.
Iduna: 🎵Where the northwind meets the sea
There is a river full of memory
Sleep, my darling, safe and sound
For in this river all is found
In her waters, deep and true
Lie the answers and path for you
Dive down deep into her sound
But not too far or you'll be drowned
Yes, she will sing to those who hear
And in her song, all magic flows
But can you be brave what you most fear?
Can you face what the river knows?
Where the northwind meets the sea
There's a mother full of memory
Come my darling, homeward bound
When all is lost, then all is found🎵
A/N: So, what did you think about it? And also, what do you suggest should happen next? If you have an answer for that, let me know, and I'll incorporate these suggestions for the next chapter. Until next time. :)
