Chapter 30

Corrin stood on top of the wooden stand that was placed on the edge of one of the cliffs in the Bottomless Canyon. And as much as she wanted to try and get away from this situation she knew that it was impossible due to her wrists being tied together. And before she knew it the young woman soon saw and felt a rope go around her neck as a soldier stood next to the end of the rope at the right side of the stand. She then felt a cold chill go down her spine once King Garon demanded, "So, do you have nay last words to say before you're put to death, girl?!"

"Yes, I do. But none for you, monster!" Corrin snapped, as she did her best to look back over her shoulder and glare at the old king.

The princess heard the King of Nohr let out a scoff of anger and was about to say something in response to her words. However, before he could do so everyone heard a howl followed by a voice as it shouted, "Corrin!"

And upon hearing this the young woman's red eyes widne in shock when she Garmr, Snow, and her Hoshidoan family running towards the edge of a cliff on the other side of the canyon with worried looks on their faces. And once they had all reached close to the edge they stopped in thracks. Then Corrin saw her mother walk a bit closer to the edge as she put her hands together and pleaded, "King Garon, I must ask that you release my daughter."

"Oh? Well, look who finally emerged from their safe little barrier." Garon mockingly reamrked, befor he let out a loud laugh. And after doing so he continued, "However, I'm afraid you're in no position to ask for anything. For you see once your precious daughter has been hung I shall send her lifeless body down the canyon. And once that happens my Master's grand plan shall be put in motion . Then both Nohr and Hoshido will be destroyed with nothing remaining from either land."

"No! You mustn't!" Mikoto begged, to which tears began to form in her eyes.

Seeing this though only caused Corrin to tear up as well as she closed her eyes and waited for the rope to be pulled once Garon had shouted, "Tch, begging won't change your daughter's fate. Now, pull the rope and kill her!"

However, before the rope could be pulled the young woman heard the sound of smoke filling the area. She then heard the Nohrians start to cough while Garon demanded, "What is the meaning of this?!"

Once that had been said the princess then heard the sound of the soldier that was on the plank next to her let out a shout before she hread him being thrown off the wooden surface. She then felt a dagger being pressed against the rope that was around her wrists. And once she heard the rope snap and heard it fall to the ground she removed the rope that was around her neck with a little bit of help when she felt two large hands go over her own. And while the rest of the rope Corrin found herself being moved forward and then pressed into a muscled chest and gut as a familiar voice whispered, "Are you alright, Corrin?"

Hearing this caused the princess to open her eyes, and once the smoke had cleared she saw Gyobu smiling at her with a relieved expression his face. She then found herself being lifted into his arms as he then ran away from the Nohrians and kept going until he had reached the Hoshidoans on the other side. Upon doing so Corrin felt herself being dropped back onto her feet to which her mother ran up and hugged her tightly while she let out, "Thank goodness you're safe, Corrin." The two then looked at the takuni as her mother added, "Thank you for saving her."

"Of course. I would do anything for her." Gyobu replied, with a warm smile on his face.

This happy moment was quickly ruined when King Garon shouted, "You fools! You let the brat get away!" And as he marched towards them he continued, "Although if you really want to be reunited with your family girl. Then I suppose I'll just have my children kill each and every last one of you!"

This caused Corrin's eyebrows to narrow ass she and mother let go of each other while the blonde haired prince made his way up next to his Father while on his horse. Once that happened Garon let out a dark chuckle and ordered, "I see you are willing to set an example for your younger siblings to follow Xander. Very good. You can start by killing Corrin."

Although right after this was order to the prince Corrin was quite surprised when she heard and then saw a girl with pig-tails ride up to Xander. And once she had done this Corrin saw the prince's youngest sibling looked as though she was about to cry as she begged, "Xander, please don't do this! I know that you're a kind hearted person who wouldn't want to kill anyone."

"Be quiet, girl!" The king snapped at the princess.

After he had yelled this though Azura and Nyarl, along with another person that Corrin assumed was her retainer run up next to her before the light blue haired young woman suggested, "Elise, let's move away for a moment, alright?"

"But Azura..." Elise let out, as tears started to run down her face.

"I know how you feel Elise. But this is Xander's decision to make." Azura explained to her as she looked over at her older brother.

And after some time had passed the youngest princess released a sigh while she mubled out, "Okay..."

But once the four started to walk away she saw the eldest prince of Nohr look back over at his siblings from over his shoulder. He then let out a heavy sigh before Garon ordered for the second time, "How long are you going to keep me waiting, boy!? You had best kill them now! Or I'll slaughter everyone here myself!"

Then to everyone's surprise Xander closed his eyes for a few moments before quickly reopening them and then pointing his blade as Garon. Upon doing so he said, "No. Hoshido may be an enemy of Nohr. But even someone from that kingdom does not deserve to be put to death."

"You insolent brat! How dare you refuse an order like that!" The old king snapped, before his gaze moved to Corrin. And once that had occurred the young woman noticed something odd about his eyes as he added, "Well then, I will just have to kill her myself."

But before he could act though everyone's attention was turned to Azura as she slowly walked back over to them while she sang out:

"You are the oceans gray waves"

And once she had sung those words Corrin noticed an odd reaction from the old king. That being he was letting out groans and moans of pain, but they sounded more demonic then human. Her attention was quickly brought back to the princess of Nohr as the sliver haired young woman saw that her pendent was glowing as she slowly made her back to them and said, "It is time to end this farce. For you are clearly not our Father. So you had best reveal your true form to us here and now."

"Tch, very well. But I am certain you'll come to regret your decision..." Garon let out, before purple smoke started to surround him. This was quikcly followed by some disturbing sounds coming fomr within the odd colored smoke. And once it had vanished completely King Garon no stood in front of everyone. What did stand in place place was a blue ooze colored monster that was seemed to be just held together by the body's skeleton as the front of the skull was clearly visible with black and red eyes. Seeing this caused everyone to gasp or scream in both shock and horror at what they were seeing in front of them.

Which included Corrin whose whole body had began to shake in fear at the monster that was using King's Garon's body. However, before she let dread take over she felt Gyobu put his left arm protective in front of her. This caused her to look up at the tanuki as he also looked back at from over his shoulder when he told her, "Don't worry Corrin, I'll protect you from this vile creature."

"Thank you, Gyobu. But this is my problem to deal with." The princess replied, as she placed a hand onto his wrist. Soon after though she remembered that she no longer had her sword with her as she added, "Although I suppose that will be quite difficult without my sword."

In response to this however, the young woman was quite confused when the anthro raccoon dog let out a light chuckle before he remarked, "It is a bit amusing you would say that, my dear. Because I believe this is what you're looking for, right?"

Once he had said this Corrin saw the Transient pull out her sword from within his robes and while he handed it to her she let out, "You're a life saver."

Within seconds however, both of their attention was brought back to the monster that was in front of them as he breathed heavily while he looked over at Azura dn snapped, "Now that my true form is revealed I'll get rid of you first! This way you won't be able to sing that irritating song every again!"

And right after he had told the light blue haired princess this Corin's eyes widen when she saw the large axe being lifted into the air and then thrown in Azura's direction. This prompted the young woman to want to shout out some sort of warning to the other noblewoman. However, before the weapon could hit her the attack by easily blocked by Nyarl with one of his gauntlets once he had appeared in front of the singer.

He then waged a single finger at the monster as he frowned and commented, "tsk, tsk, that's pretty low to attack such a lovely singer. I guess you need to be taught a lesson."

"Tch, accursed beastman, I should have seen your interference coming. But no matter for I will just kill you along with the girl!" The creature proclaimed, to which he started to charge at the two.

While he did this the hyena threw the axe back at him which he easily caught in his blob like hands. But when he tried to attack him again Corrin saw the chance to run towards him and then strike him in the back with her sword. This caused the monster to let out a yell of pain before the princess saw him look back her with his eerie colored eyes as he told her, "You shouldn't have done that, girl."

Then before she knew it she was pulled away from the monster by Gyobu when she was almost hit with the king's axe. After doing so however, the four were surrounded by a purple like barrier which prompted Prince Xander to try and attack it. Sadly his efforts were pointless as the creature let out a laugh and commented, "Foolish Prince. No sword, including your legendry blade Siegfried can get through this barrier."

"Curse you, monster! Return our Father this instance!" The blonde haired prince demanded, from outside of the barrier.

Again the monster laughed before he told everyone, "You foolish boy. Such a thing is not possible for your precious Father has been dead for some time now. And I had only been using his body as a means to fulfill my Master's plans."

"What?!" Xander shouted, with anger in his voice. His sister Camilla let out a scream of horror while Prince Leo remarked, "This...This can't be possible." And following this was Elise when she chimed in with, "Poor Father..."

Azura however, remained silent for a few seconds before she gripped her Blessed Lance in boht of her hands and said, "I see. That explains why you forbid me from singing in the castle. However, I must set what remains of Father free from you grasp." Then Corrin's surprise she saw the other princess look in her direction as she continued, "Will you help me, Corrin?"

Hearing such a request caused the Hoshidoan Princess givea small smile as she replied, "Well, I suppose I have no choice. Although to be honest I get the feeling that this is the right thing to do."

Azura smiled upon hearing Corrin agreeing to join forces. She then looked over at Nyarl when she asked, "Are you ready for what may be our final battle?"

"You know it, babe. But what about you? You seem to be out of breathe." The hyena pointed out, with a concerned expression on his face. Two more Nyarls then appeared next to the first as they then went on unison, "But don't worry, we'll keep you nice and safe, sweetheart."

"Thank you, Nyarl. But I have to see through to the end." The princess reassured him, as she saw both Corrin and Gyobu make their way to the enemy they were facing.

And once the pair had reached the monster controlling Garon's body the sliver haired young woman perpared for a battle. But as she got into a fighting position she felt her sword hand begin to shake when the creature let out a dark chuckle when he said, "Can you not see that your efforts are pointless girl? That blade you're using won't hurt me."

"We'll see about that." Corrin countered, before Azura saw her run towards the monster.

And to the noblewoman's surprise the sword that the Hoshido Princess was using was able to cause a good amount of damage to the armor that her dead Father's armor. This caused the creature to yell out in pain shock and pain to which he counterattack her causing her to yell out in pain as well. However, whatever injuries were quickly healed by the anthro takuni when the singer saw him use a Hoshido healing item called a Sun Festival. After this had been done she made her move and ran towards the other princess. And upon reaching her she sang for a few seconds to give the red eyed young woman another chance to fight again. After doing this she watched as Corrin attacked the possessed king one more time and delivered the final blow when she focused and then attack once she had shouted, "This ends now!"

Corrin let out a sigh of relief as she saw the creature that was using King Garon's body turn into water like state before it disappeared completely. She then saw Azura standing next to her as the light blue haired princess let out, "My you finally rest in peace." After saying this she then looked over at Prince Xander and continued, "Although now that Father is no longer with us, I must ask you a question, Xander? Will you continue trying to start a pointless war with Hoshido like Father did?"

This question prompted the sliver haired young woman to look over at the blonde haired prince who had an emotionless expression on his face. But within a few seconds a smile formed replacingit when he replied, "No, I do not plan on doing so. Because even though we may be enemies right now. This does not mean that we can't be allies later on in the future."

Hearing the prince's words caused a smile to form on Corrin's face as well while her mother walked towards them and commented, "I am happy to hear you say this, Prince Xander. And I look forward to the day that we can call each other not only allies, but friends as well."

To this the princess saw Xander nod his head in agreement before he and the other nobles from Nohr left the Bottomless Canyon along with one of the Nyarls. The other two stayed behind though as one of them asked, "So are all of you boys heading back to Tokyo with us?"

Hearing such a thing caused the young woman to turn ad face both Snow and Garmr as she let out, "So I guess this is goodbye."

"Yes, I suppose it is." Snow replied, while he walked up to her. He then bowed in front of ehr and went on, "But even if we will no longer be able to see each other that often if at all, Lady Corrin. I promise that I will keep all of the time we spent together in my heart."

"Thank you, Snow. I'll be sure to do that too." Corrin told him, with a smile on her face.

The black and green furred dog was next as he let out, "Garmr will miss Corrin. But Garmr will work hard to be the best guard dog ever."

"I'll miss you too, Garmr. Although to me you're already the best gaurd dog ever." Corrin reassured him, to which the beastman let out a howl of happinesss. She then looked at Gyobu when she added, "But what about you, Gyobu? Are you going back to Tokyo as well?"

"Well, I was thinking about it." The Transient answered back, with a stoic expression. However, this was quickly replaced by a big smile while he continued, "But as much I care for my guild. I care about you all the more. And besides since Hoshido and Land of Wa are similar to each other. I was hoping to be able to start over here with you."

"Really? Do you really mean it?" Corrin replied, with shock in her voice.

A blush then spread across her face once she was pulled into the tankui's arms when he hugged her and softly told her, "Yes, with all of my heart."
