Sequels…I am not entirely sure I am good at these from past experience. Fate of Grayskull was challenging in a very different way from Champion and I essentially created whole new characters where the fan fiction I enjoy more is immersed in the canon. Many authors do that very well, although I will be the first to say I enjoy good writing period.
I agree with critiques of my work that bring up good points and sometimes I overlook things. These are good fun, but my brain will NOT let it go. I am very tired and my original works are suffering from an image in my head.
It was shortly after I finished my first original work, publishing pending, and then it popped in there. The usual suspects *cough* Thank You by Mizo*cough* inspire me a lot too.
So here we go, Fairy Hero: Guild Heart begins. For those that enjoy it, welcome. For those that have points of contention, I welcome those too.
I do not own any rights of any kind of Fairy Tail or My Hero Academia.
Chapter 1 - Gift From an Old Friend
A little over a month from the Kamino Ward battle to the Probationary License test had 2 worlds touch, with a traveler from a third at the end.
Midoriya and All Might spent their time with the guild of Fairy Tail in Magnolia, while Erza Scarlet took the world by storm as a quickly approved S-Class Hero. She also filled in the hole of the staff for All Might.
After a near tragic battle with over powered Nomus, the most rambunctious guild of Fiore crashed into Earth and saved the day. All returned to their original worlds after a tearful good-bye. All For One was put into the rebuilt and refortified Tartarus while the League put feelers out for recruitment.
An old yakuza member has a dramatic clash resulting in the death of Magne at the hands of the twisted man known as Overhaul. Midoriya, after recommendations from the now retired All Might and Erza Scarlet, has his own probationary license issued and is looking into a work study under Sir Nighteye.
While all that is going on, a certain celestial wizard is practically skipping down the streets of Magnolia.
Fiore - Magnolia
Lucy was drawing strange looks from more than half the passerby as she literally hopped with a giant smile on her face down the sunny lane to the Guild Hall. It had been a week since Deku and All Might went home, but the sadness of that parting was being overturned by recent news.
Polyusica had been nearby and practically glared at Lucy at the time. At first, Lucy had feared she had done something unintentionally but as she was dragged to the back rooms of the hall, she was then examined head to toe.
After sighing and holding the bridge of her nose, the aging healer gave her the news she had wanted to hear most.
It would appear you are with child, of what will no doubt be the most rambunctious child of the guild! After she said the words, there was a gentle smile on her face as she patted the fully giddy Lucy.
Now, she was coming up on the guild and saw Elfman wave as he and Evergreen stepped out of the doorway. The news had spread like wildfire and the new babies just seemed to keep growing. Former Master Markarov spent most of his days making silly faces as different children came by.
It was now a full 2 days since Erza assumed being Master of Fairy Tail once again. The twisted trail of Masters gave some paperwork headaches, but Lucy had been surprised at how much Erza had changed.
She still happily halted a fight, and God help anyone that denied her cake, but she was much more about growing her fellow wizards and also playing with the new members that could not quite walk yet.
Mira had to physically pull Erza away from the babies in fact sometimes!
The smells of the hall filled Lucy's nose as she entered to what seemed like barely controlled chaos.
Spells were not flying, yet, but there seemed to be several arguments going on all at once. The smiles told Lucy it was in good fun for now, but with Natsu and Gray out on quests, it was unlikely to get out of hand.
Gajeel was in the corner playing with his baby with bags under his eyes. Lucy felt a pang of pity for the dragon slayer, but he seemed to be enjoying himself.
"LUCY!" Levi came running over and hugged her hard. The once full room of voices came to silence for only a moment. A roar of cheer went up and Cana oddly was quite sober as she raised a mug. Had she been waiting?
"CONGRATULATIONS LUCY!" A blush over took Lucy as all of the guild cheered her on. She knew Natsu must have gone through something similar before he left. It was freaky seeing Gajeel look over at her in pity while smiling. How could he do that?!
The groups broke up as Lucy made her way to Mirajane. The pale haired beauty seemed even brighter today to Lucy as a tall glass of water was put in front of Lucy.
"Natsu was floored by the news, wasn't he?" The sparkle of mischief in Mira's eye made Lucy smile.
"He was over joyed actually. He went on the roof and roared to the sky to tell Igneel apparently. Then he twirled me around the room once." She omitted it was the first night they did not have a late night while her cheeks turned red. They had been giddy like little kids.
The land lady had not been thrilled until she was told the news, then she simply seemed to become stone faced. The large woman, still wearing Lucy's old clothes, sighed and then simply waved it off for the night.
Natsu had then left a message for her this morning that he was off to get a quest. Gray had been snagged up with him, which meant Juvia likely may have gone if they left the baby with Mira or Lisanna. That, or Juvia once again took the baby with them.
Juvia's unique nature made her very resilient and she was terrifying if something put Gray or their baby in danger.
A chill went down Lucy's spine the one time Juvia had seen Gajeel sleeping with his baby crawling away in the guild hall. It was perfectly safe, Markarov made sure of it, but the feeling in the room had been very dark, save for any cute children or babies in the room. They were laughing as Juvia chased Gajeel outside with water whips he could not seem to defend against.
"So Polyusica will be taking care of you too?" The powerful, but easily irritated, healer had birthed all of the current babies. Supposedly, she was more tolerant of a woman in labor than any other time she dealt with people.
Lucy nodded and looked fondly over the guild hall. She could not work like she had been but there were still jobs to do. Her work as an author also gave her a nice cushion to keep on top of everything.
As she turned back to the bar a slightly worn notebook sat on the wooden surface and her smile vanished. The writing was very neat and detailed just on the outside. It was in front of Cana as she sat drinking with a barrel sitting next to her.
Lucy squinted and saw it was indeed the book Cana had asked Deku for. His ability to analyze and pick apart magic, despited not being a wizard, had been very helpful for some guild members. His ability to write was nearly beyond Levi or Lucy's skills with magic too!
Mira saw her object of concentration and a flash of sadness went across her face too. It had been a short time, but Deku had become part of them so quickly. His presence made the hall warmer, any room he was in warmer.
Lucy shook her head and put the smile back on her face as she enjoyed the day.
Loke was on the 2nd floor looking down. A large parcel wrapped in what seemed like starlight lay next to him. He had come through the gate from the Spirit world on a mission from his King but all of the contracted spirits had felt Lucy's feelings of late.
The unmitigated joy attracted all of their attention, but even in that spike of happiness, they all felt the sadness.
The sharply dressed lion spirit hefted the package and moved on down. A part of his heart was in pain, but he had known long ago that Natsu had captured Lucy's heart. He had, in fact, been about to have a conversation with the dragon slayer on his lack of response to her feelings, but that was not resolved.
A small smile cracked his face as he remembered the story of how Natsu had stumbled into the guild hall the day after Erza came back looking like he had battle Acnologia all over again. Lucy, on the other hand, had been humming brightly.
No matter how powerful Natsu became, Lucy clearly held the greatest power over him.
"It is from the Spirit King?" Lucy held the large object in one of the back rooms in curiosity as Loke stood across from her. He had been quieter about his congratulations, but far warmer about it than she thought he would be.
"Yes. We have felt your sadness Lucy. We also loved Deku and never seeing him again hurts us as well." The flash of pain told Loke he was more than right. The bond between a celestial wizard and their spirits made hiding things very difficult.
"His Majesty thought over if there was anything he could do, especially with all you have faced for us and done for us. Also," Loke looked her right in the eyes as he pulled his sunglasses off, "He knows the pain of losing someone you love but had to let go for their happiness."
A flash of the past battles and sacrifices went through them both, but taken altogether it was a lot.
Lucy felt tears form at many of the memories and wiped her eyes before carefully unwrapping the large object. It was easily a third of her height but not heavy. The paper fell away and she felt confusion fill her face.
"Um, what did I need this for?" Lucy held up a large mirror. It was very clear but it was framed in a strange material that seemed to change colors depending on the angle you looked at it. It was very pretty, but she had a perfectly good mirror at home.
A small smile cracked Loke's face as he pointed at the mirror and said nothing else.
Lucy, confused, look into the mirror and then almost dropped it.
It was no longer a reflection fo the room and her, but a brightly lit street of some kind. Buildings reaching far into the sky lined all sides as vehicles moved without any sign of magic. People of all shapes and sizes filled the vision, some with skin of gray patches while others were far too thin to be normal.
It was not a vision of anywhere in the world she knew, but the thing that made her face explode in a smile and tears, was the center of the vision.
Wild green hair was ducking around people, politely no doubt, and running fast to somewhere. A taller blonde boy was next to him, smiling and laughing about whatever they were speaking to each other over.
"Deku.." Lucy looked up to see Loke smiling.
"My King, although he did not explain how, made this for you. You cannot hear him, nor he you, but you can see him if you wish. It has some limitations of course." Loke then averted his eyes. "It may have taken some fine tuning for that too."
The last was quite soft, but in this room it was clear. A light hearted giggle was followed by Loke being tackled in Lucy's arms.
"Thank you Loke, and thank the Spirit King too!" Loke patted her back gently and nodded. A golden glow enveloped him as he faded back into the spirit world.
"Now, where can I put this?" Lucy looked lovingly at the image as Deku raced across it. "We all miss you. Be safe." She whispered the words and despite what Loke said, Deku looked straight into the mirror for a moment before glancing around.
She smiled at his good instincts and covered up the mirror again for now. It would never get out of the Guild hall if she left it unwrapped. A new energy in her step, Lucy walked out to drop the mirror off at her home before taking a quest for herself.
The hole in her heart was still there, but it was not so bad anymore. She would share this gift soon, but only once she figured out everything about it. Loke said it had limitations, a few obvious ones she would hope, but it had clearly been a normal mirror until Loke pointed back to it.
Also, she just wanted to watch Deku for a bit.
Earth - Street Leading to Sir Nighteye's Office
Midoriya was finding a gap here or there to get through the crowd on the street when he felt an instinct warning he was being watched.
Despite looking around, he could not find the source, but it had not felt threatening. Togata was moving on, and the crowd seemed to part for him. It was not hard to see why. He was a bright and charismatic teen that naturally drew the eye.
Midoriya found his humility and realistic view on his quirk to be more interesting, but Permeation was a fascinating Quirk. His senior had been very patient as Midoriya had practically grilled him about it after talking about joining Sir Nighteye's office for his work study.
Despite having, in a sense, decades of experience, Midoriya was back to relearning his limits as his body could not handle 100% of One for All. After some training at UA, he had pushed it close to 18%, 25 for a moment, but no more. Hatsume Mei had drooled over the details of what he wanted and happily remade his costume.
There was one item she had wondered about, but he had insisted on the addition. Sadly, it had not turned out the way he imagined, but it could be addressed in another iteration. He had to forcibly pry the case out of her hands as he had to get going.
"It is important to make Sir laugh, Midoriya. If you can make him laugh, you are in!" The bright smile of Togata was inspiring just to look at and Midoriya felt a stab of jealousy that it came so easily to the larger boy.
Part of the return to his original form seemed to bring back his nervous tendencies. It may also be because his confidence had stemmed from the power he had when he first returned. All Might had been helping him get his head back on straight with that, but recently his nervousness had gotten a bit better and a lot worse in some regards.
Ochako had practically shocked him rigid with her confession last night and they had talked very late into the night. It was too new for him to wrap his mind around it.
Shaking his mane of wild hair, he refocused on Togata's words as they finally arrived. The building was not too imposing, but the former sidekick of All Might still had an impressive set of facilities.
Taking a deep breath, he followed Togata into the glass doors and swore he would get Sir Nighteye to accept him.
Pausing here. If I keep going it will be a SUPER long chapter. Also, pretty much a recap and catching up. As stated, this starts immediately after the events of the first story. This will be a lot more on My Hero side, for obvious reasons, but Magnolia will have large swaths here too.
