Shikaoi lazily sat in front of his new sensei. Sasuke and Naruto each sat next to him on either side of the Nara.

Kakkashi sighed as he looked over his potential team.

"Let's see. First off, let me have you guys introduce yourselves," Kakkashi said.

"Introduce ourselves? What do we say?" Naruto asked incredulously.

"Your likes, dislikes, dreams for the future and hobbies," Kakkashi explained.

"Sensei we already know each other and you probably already know a bit about us, so perhaps you should go first," Shikaoi interjected.

"Alright, I'm Kakashi Hatake. Things I like and things I hate… I don't feel like telling you that. My dreams for the future… never really thought about it… As for my hobbies… I have lots of hobbies."

'He didn't tell us anything' thought the three boys.

"Now, blondie you go first," Kakkashi said pointing at Naruto.

"I'm Naruto Uzumaki. I like instant ramen in a cup, and I really like the ramen Iruka Sensei got me at the Ichiraku Noodle Shop, but I hate the three minutes you have to wait after you pour the water in the ramen cup.

I like training with my friends. My hobby is eating different kinds of ramen and comparing them, and my future dream is to be the greatest Hokage! Then the whole village will stop disrespecting me and start treating me like I'm somebody. Somebody important!" Naruto exclaimed raising a fist in his enthusiasm.

"Lazy kid," Kakashi said pointedly at Shikaoi.

Shikaoi sighed fixating his gaze on his sensei.

"I'm Shikaoi Nara and I like..." Shikaoi stopped and realized he didn't quite know what to say. He didn't particularly like anything and he wasn't a very active person. He strained to think of something...anything to say.

"I like mental exercises and riddles. I also, like reading about psychology and human behaviour. I like cloud watching with my brother and enjoy spending time with my friends," Shikaoi said.

" I don't like arrogant people, or people who hate others out of stupidity and those who harm my friends. My dream for the future... is for everyone I care about to find true happiness and reach their dreams even if it means I'll have to work from the shadows to ensure their success."

Naruto and Sasuke looked at Shikaoi with something akin to awe. 'A passionate Nara? What have I gotten myself into?' Kakkashi wondered.

"Ok. Emo kid, you're next," Kakkashi said breaking away from his thoughts.

Sasuke hnned disgruntled and stated,

"My name is Sasuke Uchiha. I hate a lot of things, especially fan girls and people who disrespect my friends.I like training and tomatoes. What I have is not a dream, because I will make it a reality. I'm going to restore honour to my clan, and find a certain someone and when I do—I am going to find out the truth."

Kakkashi looked shocked, Naruto was confused and Shikaoi just seemed...proud? 'Interesting,' Kakkashi mused. 'Interesting indeed.'

Kakkashi informed his 'cute little genin,' that they still needed to pass a test, before they could, become official genin. "Oh, and don't eat breakfast, unless you want to throw up," Kakkashi warned disappearing in a puff of swirling leaves.

When Shikaoi got home, he asked his brother if he had been told about a test.

Shikamaru explained that team ten had completed their test already and explained what their test had entailed. Shikaoi contemplated what he could glean from his brother and sighed.

"Thanks for the intel Shika," he said getting ready for bed.

The next morning:

Shikaoi got up, grumbling about the unfairness of having to wake up so early when it was obvious that their sensei would be late.

He quietly made his way to the kitchen. Trying not to disturb his twin. 'Lucky him he gets to sleep in.' 'I was not meant to wake up this early.' He groaned internally.

Shikaoi spotted his father napping on the kitchen and mentally weighing his knowledge he got an idea.

"We need to strategize," Shikaoi told his teammates as soon as he arrived at the training grounds. "It is highly likely that he is going to test our teamwork skills by putting us against each other, so we need a plan.."

Naruto and Sasuke stole a glance at each other, before looking at their teammate confused.

"Oh yeah, here—eat these," Shikaoi states tossing the boys a ration bar each.

"You'll need the energy," the boy explained.

"What did you have in mind?" Sasuke asked.

Shikaoi beamed evilly, which was very uncharacteristic of him.

"Ano sa, you are creeping me out Aoi," Naruto stated nervously.

"Here's what we need to do," Shikaoi said leaning in and explaining.

The three boys grinned causing a certain jonin who was visiting a certain stone to shiver, unaware of the hell that he was about to be subjected to.
