Girl Meets Summer

"June 26, 2019," I wrote in my journal. "So far today has been a great day! I'm at an AWANA camp. If whoever is reading this doesn't know what AWANA is, it's an acrynm. It stands for Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed. I have been here since Saturday and today is Wednesday. It has been a while since I wrote in this journal so I'm going to tell you a few things about me. My name is Raj Peterson, I'm twelve years old and I really like legos, writing, I'm a Christian, and theater is something I really like. I'm really into soccer and hockey and my favorite color is sky blue. I have blue eyes and short, brown hair. I was wearing a blue Ninjago t-shirt with the Weakend Whip song on it and long, tan, jean shorts. I also had on blue and gray tennis shoes. I had a black cap with different color fruits on the viser part of it and I was wearing it backwards. Me and my friends April and Penny were lucky enough to somehow get the largest cabin. I was on the top bunk writing in my journal. Before that I was writing a letter to my parents. I also have a four year old brother Levi and nine year old sister Margaret or Marge.

So, now that I got you caught up on me I want to tell you about my amazing week!

I have been wanting to go to this camp for over a year and when I finally got here last Saturday I was very nervous to be without my parents for a week but before they even left I already felt safe there. Once game time started I saw a boy who looked a little younger than me. He had blond hair, green eyes, and glasses that were a little to big for him. The thing about his appearance that made me even notice him was the fact that he was wearing a baseball cap with a design of my favorite television show characters on it, Ninjago. Not many people I know even know what the show is. Later that day I was playing a game called gaga ball with my friend April. She was the competitive type and since I didn't know what the game was she decided to teach me how to play. A few people decided to join the game and before long the boy I noticed from before came into the rink.

Once we were both out I went over and decided to talk to him. I found out that his name was Michael and ever since that moment we have been pretty good friends.

Today is Wednesday and I've made plans to go to archery with Michael. I was a little upset about my feelings, towards him, though. You see, all year I've had a crush on a boy, but last weak he told me that he didn't like me back. I decided to try to not have a crush on anyone else for a long while, but Michael is so nice and sweet and funny. I'm not sure what to do.

"August 10, 2019," I wrote weeks later. "I don't even know what I'm doing anymore. The youth group I used to go to was talking to much about adult subjects. It freaked me out. On top of all of that my great grandmother died which is the type of stuff I've been trying to get my mind off of since July. My friend Michael lives in a dangerous country now and my parents want to move soon.

"Raj!" my sister Margeret yelled from downstairs.

I quickly closed my journal and locked it with my key which I hid inside of a seashell I optained from a gift shop near the ocean.

I then went downstairs to see my younger sister with my baby brother Levi and my parents.

"Yeah?" I asked them.

"You know that we've been talking about moving for the last few weeks, right?" my dad asked me.

"Yeah," I replied. I tried to fight back tears because I knew that if we moved than I would have to say goodbye to all of my friends, my church, my dance teacher, and probably AWANA since they don't usually go past sixth grade and I'm going to be in seventh next month.

"We found a small house in Greenichville, New York and we're moving there a week before school starts," Mom told me.

"Why do we have to live in a different country?" Margeret asked.

Everyone looked at her like she was crazy.

"What?" she asked.

"New York is a state," I explained. "Why do we have to live there anyway?"

"You know I was promoted to New York," Dad replied.

I started to feel my face get hot I was mad at my parents. I didn't want to be mad at them but I was. I just wanted to be home. I just have to remind myself that God has a perfect plan for me and whatever happens it defilently has a reason for happening.
