Percy's POV
1000 years.
That was how long I, Perseus "Percy" Jackson had been hiding out here. It was how long ago I was cast out by people who I had considered family in all but blood. They wanted to break me, crush me, and they did. The only reason that kept me putting one foot in front of the other was what would happen to me if I stopped. They used me in times of war without a thought as to my safety and the instant that they did not need my services they cast me out. I was cursed to remain immortal, never dying but also never seeing anyone I cared for. The instant I got close to somebody the curse would take effect and they would be whisked away and their memories wiped. But I needed a purpose, I felt as though there must be more to do than be a wanderer so I made a paradise on Earth. Everyone was welcome even if they were traitors, monsters or even ghosts of my past. In this utopia, monsters lived in harmony with demigods and even creatures like the minotaur, who had on several occasions, tried to kill me requested to join. I sat down and looked over at the safe haven that I have created.
Making that was the worst decision I had ever made and this is coming from somebody renowned for their idiotic decisions. I was forced to watch from afar as beings of all kinds made friends unable to do the same myself lest they are removed from this place. And with nothing to do all day I threw myself into training and you would not believe the amount of progress you can make when you have absolutely no life and no need to sleep. My abilities already arguably the best ever now grew to that of a god. Even my previously huge failing, archery, was not that hard after all, of course only after several years of intense focused training.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH"
A scream pulled me from my reflection and I raced towards it worried for the inhabitants of my paradise. I froze when I saw what was going on. The hunters of Artemis, battered and bruised, with their supplies and tents destroyed, were about to be killed by a drakon! Thinking quickly I pulled out whirlwind(my katana) and launched it at the drakon hitting it between his eyes and piercing its brain. Never before had I been so thankful that I had done the chore of sharpening my weapons. I walked over to where the hunters were lying down and retrieved whirlwind. The instant that I turned around Thalia hit me with a barrage of questions, "Why did you leave Percy? What happened to riptide? What is this place?
"Thals, Thals, Thals do you mean to say that the gods really did not tell you? I was banished directly after the rewards ceremony after the fight with Gaia. I was deemed too powerful to live like a normal demigod and banished and cursed so that all of my friends would leave me." I replied. I then waved my hand and all of the hunters' wounds glowed a soft red and then disappeared leaving them stunned few had witnessed the power of Hestia(She along with other Gods had blessed me(A.N I will explain more at the banishment flashback)).
A small chuckle was heard behind me. I spun around and saw Artemis with a victorious smirk, "We lifted that curse half a millennium ago, you could have made friends."
"SO THE GODS BANISH ME FOR BECOMING STRONG ENOUGH TO SAVE THEIR SORRY BACKSIDES CURSING ME, THE MAN WHO WAS UNFALTERINGLY LOYAL TO ALL OF HIS FRIENDS TO HAVE NO FRIENDS ONLY TO REVEAL THAT FOR HALF OF THAT TIME I COULD HAVE HAD FRIENDS AND YOU HAVE THE AUDACITY TO LAUGH AT ME. YOU WHOSE VOTE GOT ME INTO THIS MESS. BEFORE I USED TO THINK THAT MAYBE YOU WERE A HALF-DECENT BEING BUT NOW I KNOW THAT ALL YOU ARE IS A STUPID WOMEN WHO LETS THE ACTIONS OF A FEW BLIND HER AND CAUSE HER TO ATTACK AN ENTIRE RACE FOR FUN."I took a deep breath calming down and I continued in a much calmer tone."You and your hunters are lucky that I saved you. If you want I will give you a place to stay but do not under any circumstances attack any other being here."
The all of the hunters but Thalia look victorious, certain that Artemis would strike me down for my behaviour but to the surprise of everyone she was looking down ashamed."Milady, "A hunter called out, "What is the matter. What did this stupid male do?" As one all of the hunters apart from Thalia raised their bows at me. Right before they were going to fire Artemis called out, "Stop. H-H-He i-is in the r-r-r-right." Everyone in the clearing was shocked, Artemis had saved a male's life! She then continued," We will take you up on your offer of a place to stay but we will attack beings who we deem dangerous."
I replied," Since when do you care about being in the right"Artemis flinched at that but I continued." you voted against me and never visited me, heck even ZEUS came more often than you! Also, my rule on no violence is non-negotiable either you accept it or leave." The hunters all gathered in a little huddle and came back with the decision of them staying here.
Thalia said," What banishment why does everyone seem to be talking about Percy being banished you said that he accepted godhood and thought that he was better than everyone?" I responded darkly, "That was their cover story for what they did I'll tell you the full story once we reach indoors."
I set off at a light jog reminding them not to shoot anything that we may come across. During the run, I talked with Thalia about the changes to the outside world and Hunt when suddenly a hunter raised her bow and shot at a sleeping monster. I simply stuck my arm out and let it hit my arm before taking the arrow out and ripping off part of my shirt to act as a bandage. My training is brutal, the arrow still caused me considerable pain but it unlike most I did not collapse on the floor. I looked at the huntress who and fired the arrow and gave her a death glare, one so terrifying that she shook and dropped her bow. Artemis was unsurprisingly unhappy with that but due to her casting me out she felt as though she owed me enough to not demand it now she said," You are explaining later." Then I turned back to Thalia tell ing me about how WW3 nearly began when Apollo said that Ares was a lazy idiot causing Zeus, Ares and anyone they could blackmail or force to join to demand Apollo to take it back. When he refused the rest of the council were forced to keep them apart or the next 50 years!
The rest of the hunters were both amazed that I could ignore one of their arrows like that and also angry that I was talking to their lieutenant. When we reached my house, a sturdy wooden structure made by yours truly that was easily big enough for the hunt and me I turned to them and informed them that whilst Thalia and Artemis would get their own room the rest of you must lie down in the hall.
A huntress asked," Why do they get their own rooms?" whilst eyeing the long row of rooms that my shack had. "Well, you see Thalia is my friend and friends are nice to each other," I said in a tone that most would use when they were speaking to an infant.
"Yeah, I know that you moronic boy but why Artemis", she asked confusedly, "She is acting as if she did you a terrible wrong."
"She did wrong me but remember when I said that even Zeus visited me? Well, you see we have struck up a strange kind of friendship and me giving Artemis a room is down to that and that alone and before you ask I will not give you a room because of you Godly parent."
I guess that comment would have led to some disappointed looks if the entire hunt including Artemis were not in shock because of Zeus becoming friends with a son of Poseidon.
"B-B-But Father hates children of the other Big Three. He voted for this too." Artemis explained in astonishment.
"Yes, but he has apologised for it after he talked to me. Well, originally the talks were yelled comments during fights but they slowly became conversations and now we have the strangest friendship that I have ever been in."I replied.
Artemis continued asking questions," What about the monsters, are you saying that the other gods are ok with you harbouring creatures that have killed demigods?"
Thalia then said," You've still not answered my question from earlier kelp head, what is up with the banishment?"
" Slow down with all of those questions, Artemis, you kill monsters because they kill demigods but they kill demigods because demigods kill monsters so I decided to break the loop. I fact the other gods are grateful to me because now fewer monsters are willing to attack the demigods. Thalia come into my room and I will explain." At the glares from the hunt, I quickly added on, "I swear on the river Styx that I will not do anything that Thalia feels uncomfortable with."
Thunder rumbled overhead and most hunters lessened their glares and Thalia ran into my room and yelled "Hurry up I have a right to know what you have done so I can blast you with lightning for every time you have done something stupid.
