THE FLAME AND THE PHANTOM in:

One of a Kind

Inside one of the many warehouses at the Amity Park harbor, some rats were eating a cookie that was left on the floor by some of the workers of the warehouse. It was dark and quite, so they didn't had to worry that anybody would come in here.

But then, loud thumps were heard nearby, scaring the rats "Get back here!" Danny said while delivering another blow "I got him, Danny!" Ember said while also delivering a blow, sending a ghost flying through the air, phrasing through a wall and crashes into a pile of boxes inside the warehouse. Both Danny and Ember, in their ghost forms, phrased through the wall as well before turning tangible again.

The ghost they fought raised himself from the pile of boxes and turned tangible again. It was one of the weakest ghosts and the laughing stock of the Ghost-Zone: The Box Ghost.

"Beware! I'm the Box Ghost!" He introduced himself while also show what he is capable off "I have power over all containers cardboard and square!".

Ember knew that the Box Ghost was not match for them, but still laughed as he was still trying to scare them with his ridiculous powers "Oh, please. You were no match for me back in the Ghost-Zone, and here in the human world it won't be any different. But you're welcome to try". Danny however was more worried about their coming test at school and had to study for it, but was hard for him to do since he and Ember have been using their time mostly on catching ghosts. So he asked Ember "Can we just get this over with? We've got a test to study for".

The Box Ghost frowns "Study? There will be no time to study," he said while using his powers to raise dozens of boxes into the air "when you both find yourselves crushed beneath the forgotten possessions of…" Box Ghost didn't knew to who these boxes belonged too, so just read what was on a shipping label "Elliot Kravitz of Arlington Heights, Illinois!". He then turns to Danny an Ember, sending the boxes and contents flying at them. Danny and Ember turned intangible, making the contents miss them and hit the wall behind them.

Ember sighs as Danny had a point that they had to conserve their energy for the test tomorrow at school "You know what? You're right, dipstick" she then called to Tucker, who was outside with Sam "Sam! Tucker! Any time now!".

Tucker and Sam immediately kicked down the door and jumped inside the warehouse, with Tucker carrying the Fenton Thermos and Sam a biology textbook, so that Danny and Ember could study while being on patrol. The Box Ghost looked surprised as Tucker opened the Thermos "Good night everybody!" he said before releasing a stream of energy from the Thermos. Danny grabs the Box Ghost and throws him into the beam, allowing Tucker to capture him.

"Perimeter secure" Tucker said while closing the Thermos. Sam asked while raising an eyebrow because of Tucker's line "Perimeter secure? What are you, a Navy Seal?". Danny and Ember land close to Tucker and Sam, with Danny answering what seals were "Seals: aquatic mammals that bark. They've canines, right?".

Sam checked inside the textbook and shook her head, as Seals have no canines "Wrong". Ember then told something extra about Seals "Seals: better known as Pinnipeds. Most species prefer the cold waters of the Northern and Southern Hemisphere, and are extant related to the Walrus" "Correct," Sam said before closing the book "that's only 5 good answers for Danny and 21 for Ember". While Tucker was sipping the thermos on his finger, he said "I'm no teacher, but I'm guessing that Ember got herself an 'A', while Danny got a 'D-' at most.".

Danny sighed deep as no matter how hard he tries to study while catching ghosts, he still couldn't get all the answers correct "Ah, man…". Ember could somehow feel his disappointment in himself. Ember placed her hand on his shoulder and said "Relax, dipstick. We're pretty much done with catching ghosts for the evening, so now you've got more time to study" Danny smiled as he shrugged "Yeah, I guess you're right. Let's just send these ghosts back to the Ghost-Zone and call it a day". Tucker kept spinning the thermos on his finger while saying proudly "And they aren't going anywhere" but then the thermos falls off of Tucker's finger and onto the ground, pressing a button upon impact, making the cap burst off and released over a dozen of ghosts that they had captured before. All escaped by phasing out of the building.

The Box Ghost was also released and flies into the air, raising his arms "Ha ha! I am the Box Ghost! You cannot hold me withing the confines of a cylindrical container" he then flies of, phasing through a wall.

Danny, Ember and Sam glared at Tucker, who gave a nervously smile. Ember takes the Thermos from the floor "I'll be back" and flies off, out of the building to recapture the ghosts that Tucker accidentally released.

Tucker checked his PDA, what said 'FINISH CATCHING GHOSTS 9:00 PM'. But seeing Danny and Sam's angry look, he just said nothing and held the PDA behind his back while he still nervously smiled.

Unknown to them, they were watched by a different ghost, wearing a weaponized robotic suit. His name was Skulker, the greatest hunter of the Ghost-Zone.

He held a binoculars and was watching mostly Danny "Hmmm. Half human, half ghost. One of a kind. He'll make a fine addition to my collection". Skulker said to himself while lowering his binoculars and gave an evil smile as he watched the cage behind him, which held many special ghosts that he had captured.

While he was paying attention at his new prey, Danny Phantom, the Box Ghost appeared. He saw the cage and was eager to take the cage for himself, as he loved all squared looking boxes. But before Box Ghost could take it, Skulker warned him without even looking at him "Touch the box and your pelt will adorn my fireplace". The Box Ghost didn't wanted to get torn apart by Skulker, so before he flew away he called to the ghosts in the cage "Beware!".

When Skulker used his binoculars to look at Danny, he saw a ghost girl that he knew all too well, was landing near Danny and his friends "Wait, is that…?". Skulker said as he took a closer look at the ghost girl, holding the Fenton Thermos while telling that she only could capture some ghosts but most got away and frowned at Tucker. Skulker's fists tightened when he knew that it was Ember, who he had still 'unfinished business' with "Ember". He lowered his binoculars and was eager to finish her off for what she had done. He then evilly smiled, as he had now two targets "Well, it seems that I have two targets now. One to add to my collection, and one to serve as a trophy on my wall".

The next morning, at Fenton Works…

(April 12th, 2004)

Danny was eating some cereals at the table in the kitchen with his father, who was also some eating cereals and his mother, who was working on an invention. After Danny had finished half of his cereals, Danny was taking out his biology textbook from his bag. But then, he heard Jazz running into the kitchen with a magazine in her hands "Oh my gosh, they said yes!".

All stared at Jazz, not knowing what she meant by that, so Danny just mocked her by saying "Who said yes? The person you asked if you were a conceited snob?" Jazz frowned at Danny but then happily explained 'who' said yes "No, Genius Magazine said yes! They got my letter and want to put Mom on the cover!" Jazz then screams in excitement while hugging the magazine.

Maddie was somehow interested in it, even though she had never had heard about 'Genius Magazine'. Jack then snatches the magazine from Jazz in excitement "Genius Magazine?!" but then looks confused at Jazz "Is it the swimsuit issue?". Jazz rolled her eyes and explained "Uh, Dad, Genius Magazine is for women geniuses, by women geniuses, and about women geniuses".

Danny could see that Jazz didn't just wanted their mom on the cover of a magazine for no particular reason, so he asked while crossing his arms "Okay, Jazz, what is the real reason behind all of this? Why do you want to have mom on the cover of a magazine for women geniuses?" Jazz sighed as she said "Because it is the perfect magazine to show that I have normal parents instead of a couple of ghost-hunting freaks" "They're not ghost-hunting freaks".

Jack then grabs the invention that Maddie was working on and showed it to Danny "Hey, Danny, speaking of ghost hunting, check out the latest in ghost-hunting technology: The Ghost Gabber! Genius Magazine has to be interested in this. It takes the mysterious sounds a ghost makes and translates them into words you and I use every day".

Danny wasn't so sure if Genius Magazine was gonna be interested in that invention, but before he could say something about it, the doorbell ringed. Danny rose up from his chair and walked to the door "I'll get it".

When he was about to open the door, his peaceful ghost sense went off, feeling that Ember was near. As he opened the door, his feeling was true, that it was Ember standing in front of the door, in her human disguise "Hi Danny" she said while giving a little smile. Danny was a bit surprised to see Ember, but then smiled "Oh… hey, Emily. What brings you here?" Ember gave Danny one of his notebooks "I came to bring you back your notebook. Thanks for letting me borrow it" Danny took it while looking confused "But… I didn't give you my-" Ember then hushed him while she whispered "Shhhh. You left your notebook last night in the harbor. You must have left it while we were 'capturing ghosts'.". Danny nodded as he should have paid better attention to his stuff "Right. But, you could have giving it to me back at school, you know?". Ember shrugged "Yeah, I know. I was just thinking that… I should give it to you now, and that maybe… you and I could walk to school together?". That last word came with a small blush from her.

Danny hadn't expect Ember to ask him to walk together to school. But he smiled as he shrugged "Sure. Why not?".

Danny allowed Ember in. While he went back to the kitchen to get his bag, Ember walked along with him to say hello to the Fenton's. When Jack saw her, he greeted her "Well, hello Emily!" Maddie then greeted her too "Hi Emily!" Ember greeted them back "Hello Mr. and Mrs. Fenton".

Since they knew that Emily (Ember) was interested in their work of ghost hunting, Jack was eager to show her their new invention "Check this thing that Maddie had just made, the Fenton Ghost Gabber!" "What's it do?" Ember asked, wandering what this 'Ghost Gabber' could do. Danny answered while packing his bag and walking over to her "It translates ghost sounds into words we use every day. Dad wants to show it to the people of Genius Magazine, since they want my mom on the cover of the next issue. But, I highly doubt that they would be really interested in such a device". Jack however insisted "Nonsense! They will be thrilled to know about this baby," Jack then held the Ghost Gabber in front of Ember "here, try it".

Ember first looked at Danny, then at the Ghost Gabber "Uh…. Boo?".

"I am a ghost. Fear me" the Ghost Gabber translates in a women's voice.

Danny looks at his family uncertain, while Ember looked a bit shocked. Jack was confused of why the Ghost Gabber translated Emily's words into normal words, as if she was speaking like a ghost.

Danny pretends like he checks his watch telling that he and Ember will be late for school "Oh gosh, look at the time, Em! We better get to school!".

"We better get to school. Fear me" the Ghost Gabber translated Danny's words.

Both Danny and Ember smiled nervously and quickly left. Jack looks even more confused at the Ghost Gabber "Huh. That's odd".

Maddie looked through the magazine, and said to Jazz "That's great about the magazine, sweetie, but your father and I are a team. I think that beside every genius women, there's a genius man". Jack proudly puts his arm around Maddie, making her smile "Who should be standing beside her on the cover of Genius Magazine! The world needs to know that the Fenton's are a family of geniuses".

A few hours later, at Casper High…

After finishing their tests, all the students in Lancer's class were waiting for some time for the results while doing some extra study. Mr. Lancer then finally stood up with the results and gave one to each student in his class while saying "Alright everyone, here are the results of your biology test. Most of you did well, on an average. A few of you did very well," Lancer gave Ember her results, while complimenting her "excellent work, miss McLain" Ember looked and saw that she got an 'A-', making her smile. But then Lancer said while walking over to Danny "However, some of you did NOT so well. That includes you, Mr. Fenton" Lancer gave Danny his result, making Danny wide eyed "I got a 'D'?!". That Danny reacted like that about his test result, made some students chuckle, while Sam, Tucker and Ember felt sorry for him.

Later, in the school library…

Danny, Tucker and Ember were sitting at a table, while Sam was looking for something on a nearby computer. Danny looked with disappointment at his grade "Dammit! All this ghost hunting is taking away from my study time". Tucker shrugged while saying "So much for the Fenton's being a family of geniuses" Ember narrowed her eyes at him "Tucker, you're not helping!". Danny sighed as he didn't know what to do now "Ah man… I can't get a 'D' in biology. My parents will kill me when I show this to them".

Ember then suggested what she and Sam were discussing to help Danny, before they went to the library "There is a way to avoid that, if you pull your grade up by doing an extra credit biology assignment" Danny raised his eyebrow to Ember when she suggested that. Ember pointed with her thump to Sam "It was Sam's idea". Sam nodded while opening a web page "What you should do, is making an biology assignment," Sam then showed a web page about a gorilla with white fur and a purple back, that says 'Extremely Rare: Samson' "on this magnificent creature".

Danny walked over to the computer and asked "A purple-back gorilla?" Sam nodded "Yep. Extremely rare. Only two left, both male. After this, they're gone forever. Which is why you are going to prove he deserves to be set free".

Danny wasn't sure if he was going to do the biology assignment that Sam suggested, in order to get the purple-back gorilla back in the wild. Ember could somehow feel his doubt, so suggested a different biology assignment "Or… you could do a report of evolutionary history about a different animal? Like seals, for example?" she said while holding up a book saying 'The Wonders of Evolution; Pinnipeds'. She opened it and showed a picture of a 'Puijila', an ancestor of the seal "I think Mr. Lancer will be impressed if you make a report about this".

Danny thought about it, but feeling that he doesn't have time to get an extra credit because he's responsible to keep Amity Park save from evil ghosts "Look, I appreciate that you guys try to help me, but I don't have time for extra credit," he then turned to Sam "or your agendas".

Tucker then stepped in, holding his PDA "Actually, you do. You just have to learn how to manage it better. I decided to become your time manager. It's the least I can do after Sam made me let all those ghosts out". Sam glared at Tucker for saying that she let him release all the ghosts, last night. Ember narrowed her eyes at tucker "Do you not remember what happened when we let you manage the thermos?". Tucker then tapped on the PDA "And I've already scheduled 'Remember: not to let Tucker handle the thermos'." He then showed on the screen of the reminder he typed, what blinked.

Sam then looked at Danny, waiting what he's gonna do "Well, what'll it be, Danny? Getting stuck in the library, while studying evolution of seals, or observing in real, the beauty of a very rare species that's on the brink of extinction?".

Danny thought about this, as he looked first at the web page of Samson, the purple-back gorilla, then to Ember, holding the book of seal evolution while smiling. Danny was first going for Ember's suggestion, but knowing that he doesn't like to stay in the library for like eternity, he decided to go for Sam's plan "Well… since I'm more of a outdoor person, I think checking the gorilla will do". Ember looked a bit sad, as she lowered the book. Danny was feeling her sadness, and quickly said "But in case that 'Samson' doesn't have anything new to share with us, in the meantime, I'm gonna make that report about the beauty of seal evolution". That Danny was still going through with Ember's idea, made a big smile on her face.

Danny could feel the happiness in her, what now was finding it strange. Why could he feel her emotions somehow? 'What is this? Why can I feel Ember's emotions? Is it because I'm half ghost, or that all ghosts can sense other ghost's feelings?'.

Ember was thinking as well 'What is going on? Why can I feel dipstick's emotions? This never happened to me before. It's almost like I can sense it better than more than a month ago. What could this be?'.

While both were mentally struggling with this, Tucker said while he typed something on his PDA "Well, I've just scheduled some zoo time so we can check out that gorilla. Let's go". While Danny and Sam left together with Tucker, Ember put the book of seal evolution in her bag and went after her friends.

Not long after they left, Skulker phases through the wall and enters the Library. He floats over to look at the web page on the computer, telling of the purple-back gorilla in the Amity Park Zoo. Skulker thought that this was Danny and Ember's prey "Hmm, so this is your prey, eh, Ghost Boy, and you filthy rock-chick" the last phrase came with anger as he was eager to make Ember pay for what she did.

While Skulker still looked at the web page, a student named Mikey walked over to Skulker, wanting to ask if he could use the computer, but didn't realized that he was a ghost "Uh, excuse me, sir? Are you finished with the computer?" Skulker immediately scowls at him and shoots multiple ecto-blasts at Mikey, trapping him in a web on the wall with his eyes blindfolded with exctoplasm while hanging upside-down.

Mickey wails as Skulker said fiercely "You thought you could sneak up on me, Skulker?!" Mikey wails again while Skulker kept saying "Ghost world's greatest predator?!" when Mikey just keeps wailing, Skulker had enough of it "Quiet! You're in a library" he shoots another ectoplasm at Mickey, covering his mouth. He now muffled while he kept screaming.

Skulker went intangible and phased through a wall, going after his prey's.

Just then, Dash and his friend, Dale, walked into the library. When they saw Mickey hanging upside-down, they looked at the trapped nerd, admiring this professional way of bullying "Whoa, you do that?" Dash asked Dale. He shocked but said "No, but I can always stop and appreciate high-quality bullying". Both laughed while walking away. Then, the ectoplasm and web suddenly disappears. Mickey falls to the floor while still screaming.

A few hours later, at the Amity Park Zoo…

While the sun was about to go down and the Zoo was slowly getting empty, Danny and his friends were inside a observation tower, watching the purple-back gorilla Samson in his habitat. Sam and Tucker looked at him, using their binoculars "There he is: Samson. So gifted, so… majestic" Sam said while Samson scratched himself on his butt.

Tucker lowered his binoculars out of boredom "Sam, we've been watching the gorilla scratching his butt for," he checked his watch "two hours. What are you hoping to accomplish by just observing him?". Sam looked at Tucker for a moment before checking back on Samson through her binoculars "It's only a matter of time before we'll find out something about Samson nobody's ever learned!" Tucker looked at Samson again with his binoculars, only seeing Samson eating a flea that he took from his back. Tucker narrowed his eyes as he lowered his binoculars "You know what, I don't think we'll find anything new, beside from finding flees on his back".

Sam rolled her eyes and faced Tucker "Finding out something new takes patience! And you Tucker, are clearly lacking it". Tucker annoyingly sighed, and just made some notes on his PDA.

Sam then had an idea that Danny could do, to learn something new about Samson "Danny, you should go and try to communicate with him" as she turned around, she narrowed her eyes as she saw that Danny was making notes with Ember, while they both sat at a table, reading the book about seal evolution "Do you think that seals already existed when the dinosaurs were still around?" Danny asked Ember. She shrugged while turning some pages "I don't know. Let's turn a few pages and find out".

"Danny!" Sam said annoyingly. Both Danny and Ember looked questioning to Sam "What?" Danny asked "If you really want to do the biology assignment about Samson, you can at least come over here and observe him" Sam said annoyed.

Danny and Ember glanced at each other for a moment, knowing that Sam was right. Danny gave her a small smile as he stood up "We'll take turns" Ember nodded while Danny took over Tucker's spot and took his binoculars. Sam gave a small smile as both now were watching the gorilla, Samson "Now, pay close attention. I'm sure you'll discover something about him" Sam told Danny. He sighed a bit, while he looked through his binoculars, feeling that this was gonna take longer than he thought it would.

Some hours passed while they all took turns with observing Samson. As it was now Ember and Sam watching Samson, Danny and Tucker both started to yawn as they start feeling tired. Tucker looked at his watch and said while yawning again "It's now… 11:30 PM". Danny tried to keep his eyes open while saying "Time flies when… (yawn) …when you're majestically scratching your butt".

While both Sam and Ember looked at Samson, who was starting to fall asleep, Ember was thinking about what she thought of back in the library, that she can somehow sense Danny's emotions. She tried to think when she ever felt it, before meeting Danny. When she couldn't remember that she'd ever felt it before, she began to wander if it had something to do when she was sucked into the human world through the Fenton Ghost-Portal, when it was just created, when Danny also became Danny Phantom.

Sam looked at Ember, noticing that she was troubled while thinking of something "Ember? You alright?" Ember was brought out of her thoughts and looked at Sam, sighing "Yeah. I was just… thinking about something… that's all" "About what?" Ember shrugged "Just… stuff". Sam raised suspiciously an eyebrow. Ember then tried to change the subject by asking something else "Hey! Remember that Danny should try to communicate with Samson? Maybe he truly can learn something from him that nobody could ever figure out?".

Sam smiled and nodded "Yeah, you're right!" Sam turned to Danny "C'mon, Danny, we should-" but when she sees Danny asleep on the floor, she sighs while frowning "Ugh, great". But Ember thought Danny looked cute when he was asleep and said to Sam "I don't blame him, Sam. He hadn't taken a single break since we got here in the Zoo" "Yeah, but I feel he can really find out something new from Samson. Tucker, can you-" but as Sam and Ember looked at Tucker, they see him curled up asleep next to Danny. Tucker yawns, and then flips over to cuddle Danny. Ember giggled while she held her hands on her mouth, seeing how funny it was seeing two boys cuddling together.

Sam sighs "Then it's just us left to try to communicate with Samson. But first…" Sam mischievously smiled while taking the camera they first used to take pictures of Samson, and took a picture of the boys. Ember tried to hold her laughter "Sam, you devil…". Sam laughs a bit while holding up the picture "What? Boys hugging makes every yearbook funny".

In the tiger habitat, close to Samson's habitat, Skulker phases through a wall and looks through his binoculars at Danny in the observation tower "There you are, ghost boy. Now where is that blue fired rock-chick?" Skulker said to himself while looking around to see where Ember was. However, because he talked to himself, he had waken up the tiger, who growls at Skulker. The hunting ghost turned his head, seeing the tiger was ready to devour him. Skulker just rolled his eyes as he had fought more deadlier prays in the past "Oh, please".

Samson could hear the tiger growling and fighting noises and ran to the side of his cage. Then he sees Sam and Ember outside his habitat. He began making distressed grunting noises to alert them. Sam tried to understand him while smiling at him "What is it, you wondrous being?". Ember tried to understand Samson as well, as both walked close to Samson's habitat.

The purple-back gorilla comes over to them and continues to grunt at them, pointing towards the tiger habitat. Sam and Ember looked at where he was pointing at "Is something wrong?" Ember asked the gorilla, who goes to his habitat's cage door and hangs off of it, still grunting in distress.

Sam thought he wants to get out, and smiled bright that he wants to be free "You want out?". Sam goes to the habitat's control panel, but Ember was unsure if Samson wanted to be free "Uh… Sam?" but Sam didn't listen and hits the 'Open' button. The cage door opened and Samson runs out, right towards the tiger's habitat. Ember knew now for sure what Samson was trying to tell. There was something bad going on at the tiger's habitat "I don't think Samson wanted to be free, Sam. There's something going on at the tiger. C'mon!" Ember said while running after Samson. Sam ran after her.

While the tiger was hanging in Skulker's net, the ghost phases out of the tiger habitat and looks through his binoculars to the observation tower. But the, beneath his binoculars' target screen reads 'GORILLA ATTACKING!' in green blinking letters. Skulker looked surprised "What? Gorilla attacking?" then suddenly Samson jumps on him and knocks him down while hitting him! Skulker then blocks one of his hits and then kicks Samson off of him. Samson stood up and attacks Skulker again and spins him in the air with his feet, then kicks him off and bites his wrist armor. Skulker immediately shoots ectoplasm from his small wrist blaster onto Samson's eyes, causing the gorilla to grunt while backing off as he was blinded. While Skulker stood up, Ember and Sam arrived at the scene. Both gasped of what they saw, but Ember's eyes went wide when she saw her former enemy, Skulker.

Skulker smirked evilly when he saw Ember with Sam behind her "Hello, Ember". Skulker then shoots a net at Ember, but Samson grabs it mid-air and twirls Skulker in the air. While Skulker tried to escape the gorilla's grab, Ember yelled while pressing the Fenton logo on her belt "I'm going ghost!". She then transformed into her ghost form and making her guitar appear into her hands after using her teleportation power. Skulker finally got loose after the net snaps off of his wrist, sending him flying into the air, but manages to stop in midair, thanks to his jetpack.

Ember then looked at Sam, warning her "Sam! Go get Danny, and stay low!" Sam nodded and ran back to the observation tower, while Ember flew up to face Skulker.

As both enemies stood face to face, Ember frowned at Skulker, who cracked his knuckles, ready to finish what he started "You and I have some unfinished business, Ember" "You wanna rock?! Let's rock!" Ember yelled as she charged at Skulker, who smirked as he was ready for her this time.

Back at the observation tower, Danny and Tucker were still sleeping. But then, Danny's warning ghost sense goes off, making him shiver. Not only that, Danny could also feel Ember was… in pain! That made him slowly open his eyes "Huh…? Ember…?".

At that very moment, Ember crashed into the observation tower, hitting the wall hard, making both Danny and Tucker instantly wake up while screaming, then realizing they're still holding each other, they let go and screamed again. But then, Danny gasped as he saw Ember wounded on the floor.

Skulker then flew inside the observation tower, ready to finish her. Danny was no fool. He knew that this ghost was responsible for Ember being wounded. He glared at Skulker with nothing but anger "I'm going ghost!" Danny yelled as he quickly transformed into his ghost form. Skulker fired another net at Danny, but was able to dodge it while firing several Ghost Ray's at Skulker, but deflected them using an energy shield.

Danny charged at him, delivering several punches on Skulker, but stopped the last one and threw Danny back at the glass window, nearly breaking it as he fell on the floor.

Skulker smirked at him "Impressive. Guess you can put up a fight after all. You shall become one of my most glorious captured preys".

Danny tried to get up, but was unable as he grunted in pain.

Sam then ran inside the observation tower, seeing Danny and Ember both on the floor, while Tucker was hiding under a desk. Sam ran to Ember to see if she was okay, but then Skulker fired ecto-blasts at Sam, trapping her in a web on the wall.

Now that he didn't had to worry for anyone to interfere, Skulker looked at Ember, who tried to get up, looking worried at Danny. Then Skulker looked at Danny, who also looked worried at Ember. Skulker raised his blaster arm, saying while thinking "Hmmm, who shall I kill first? The ghost child, or the flaming rocker? I choose… YOU!" he aimed his blaster arm at Ember and charged his shot, ready to kill her.

Danny's eyes went wide. Without thinking, he instantly flew to Ember to protect her, while Skulker fired his killing shot "NOOOOOO!" Danny yelled as he just made it in between her and Skulker's ecto-blast, while reaching his hands before the shot, making his hands glow green, creating a shield, what deflected the killing shot and hit Skulker right on the chest!

Danny looked surprised as he had discovered a new power, but then smirked and used his newly ghost shield to deflect all of Skulker's shots. The blast to hi chest made Skulker grunt as he took a few steps back. Danny thought he had finished him, but then Skulker smirked, as to where the shot had hit him, was not bleeding at all, only showing a few broken wires and chips. Danny now figured that this ghost had some kind of robotic armor.

Skulker then charged up some bigger blasters, coming out from his shoulders "Try to stop this, ghost child!". Just as Danny was ready to use his ghost shield, Skulker's warning system beeped, warning him of an incoming attack "What-" before he could finish his sentence, Samson flies in through the window and knocks Skulker into the desk. Skulker then throws the gorilla off of himself. As Sampson started to charge at him, Skulker became intangible and phrased out through the wall. Samson pounded several times at the wall.

Feeling that the ghost was gone, Danny quickly checked on Ember "Ember!" he held her in his arms, while she grunted and looked at Danny with a smile "You… you saved me" Danny gave her a smile back while saying "Hey, we're a team remember? We always stick together".

Tucker then emerged from under the desk and went to Danny and Ember, helping her to get up "Can you walk?" he asked Ember. She tried while nodding "Yeah… I think so" but then held a desk as support, while Danny still held her. Ember then ensure her that she'll be alright "Don't worry, Dipstick. I'll be fine" Danny disagreed and said "Are you nuts?! We need to get you to a doctor and-" Ember then held his cheek "Relax, Danny" she then showed one of her arms, that had many cuts, was slowly healing. That amazed both Danny and Tucker.

The gorilla, Samson walked over to them, with a smile on his face. Danny looked at him and thanked him for helping them "Thanks Samson".

"Uh, hello!? A little help here, please!" Sam called to Danny and Tucker, as she was still stuck at the wall with ectoplasm.

After some time, Danny put Samson back in his habitat and shuts the door. While he did wander how Samson got out, he first wanted to know who that ghost was that attacked them and nearly killed Ember "I wander who that ghost was?" Danny asked to Ember, Tucker and Sam who joined him. Ember's wounds seemed to have been healed mostly and answered "That… was Skulker" "Wait, you know him?" Tucker asked.

Ember nodded as she told with despise "Everyone in the Ghost-Zone knows about Skulker. He hunts rare and unique ghosts, just for the heck of it".

After hearing this, made Sam frown. She hated anyone who would just hunt on rare animals, or ghosts now for this matter.

Danny however felt that that wasn't the only reason that Skulker appeared and asked as he walked over to Ember and changed back into his human form "Em. When I fought Skulker, I could see he was more willing to kill you then me. Is there something we need to know?".

Feeling that Ember owned them an explanation, she started to tell after giving a deep sign "He was… an admirer of mine… once…" Danny raised an eyebrow "You mean… he stalked you?". She nodded while they all sat somewhere .

"When I still lived in the Ghost-Zone, Skulker one time saw me and tried to use his charms to get close to me. But I always rejected him" "Why?" Tucker asked "We have nothing in common! A few ghosts said I should give Skulker at least a shot to try out. I held on for a long time, but eventually, I did gave him a chance. He brought me to his own realm, to show the wonders of being a 'hunter'. But all that I saw… was nothing but suffering and death. It sickened me that Skulker was hunting on innocent ghosts, only to put them on his personal hunting grounds, to hunt them over and over and over again… or worse, making trophies out of them" hearing that Skulker was a heartless ghost with no sympathy for his own kind, made Danny, Sam and Tucker hate Skulker even more.

Ember told further what happened "The first thing I wanted to do, was getting the heck out of Skulker's realm. But I couldn't leave all those trapped ghosts behind. So… after I distracted Skulker with something, I freed all the ghosts… but also accidentally destroyed a part of Skulker's hunting grounds along with it. Since that day, he swore revenge. After I had freed all those ghosts, word spread around in the Ghost-Zone of my kind and heroic act. Since then, I was some kind of a hero, protecting innocent ghosts".

After Ember told them about her rescuing innocent ghosts, amazed them "So… you were a hero back in the Ghost-Zone? That's cool" Danny said with a smile, making Ember blush. Ember had no idea why she was blushing "Why am I blushing?! What's wrong with me?!" Ember said mentally to herself.

Her thoughts were interrupted when Tucker asked "There is just one thing that I don't understand. You said that Skulker makes 'trophies' out of the ghosts he hunts, meaning… he kills them?" All three looked at Tucker as he was asking this as he was just a five year old, but continued to ask "But how is that even possible?! I mean, ghosts are basically not alive, not anymore at least. It doesn't mean that they can die a second time, right?" he laughed a bit as it was impossible for a ghost to die, as they are not even alive. But as Tucker sees Ember, looking down, he gasped "Wait… you still can die? Even if you are a ghost?".

Ember nodded "Yeah. Though we basically live forever, we can still get killed" "Oh, just like the elves from the Lord of the Rings?" Tucker asked. Ember raised an eyebrow at him. But after a little bit of thinking what he meant by that, she nodded "Yeah".

Danny, Sam and Tucker almost couldn't believe after what Ember told them, that ghosts still can die, even though they are not anymore alive. Danny still was wandering what Ember's life once was, before she became a ghost. But after what nearly happened to them by Skulker, he decided to ask that another time.

Sam then stood up while holding a notebook and a pen "Hey, maybe Samson will be able to share something to us, now that he saved our lives?" Sam walked over to Samson's habitat, while Danny, Ember and Tucker stood up and followed her. Danny sighed "This is gonna be a long night". He then looked at Ember, who gave him a smile, and said "If it gets to bored to watch Samson scratching his butt the whole time, we can still work on seal evolution". That brought a little smile at Danny as studying seal evolution sounded like a good distraction for a change.

As Tucker stood next to Sam, he asked "I wander who let the gorilla out… Sam?" Tucker glared at Sam, who nervously said "Uhh… well…" "YOU LET IT OUT?! Are you crazy!" Sam glared at Tucker "Well, in the end, he saved all of us, right!?" Even though Samson saved them, Tucker was still not surprised if it was Sam who let the gorilla go, only to set him free "But I know for sure that you wanted set him free in the end, right? Wait 'til I'm gonna tell everybody at school you let out a four-hundred-pound gorilla".

Sam narrowed her eyes as she showed Tucker the picture of Danny and Tucker hugging while sleeping. Tucker became nervous, knowing that everybody will laugh at him if Sam showed that picture to everybody in school. So he just said "Or… we just keep it our little secret. Besides, I can't really proof anyway that it was you who let the gorilla out". Sam smirks at Tucker, knowing that he will keep his mouth shut now.

Even though Danny was in the picture too, he laughed a bit, along with Ember who said to him "To be honest, I thought you looked kinda cute, seeing you sleep like that" "You think I'm… cute?" Danny asked.

Ember immediately blushed deep red and just made an excuse "Oh! Uhm… Skulker probably hit my head so hard, making me… saying stuff! Hahaha! Let's check Samson now, shall we?" Ember walked over to the other side of the habitat, while pressing the Fenton logo on her belt, transforming into her human disguise. Danny raised an eyebrow as he watched Ember, wandering if she did really meant what she just said.

The next morning, at Fenton Works…

(April 13th, 2004)

Maddie, Jack and Jazz were sitting on the couch in the living room across from Connie, a journalist for Genius Magazine, who was doing the interview with Maddie.

Connie asked a few more questions while holding a tape recorder up "A few more questions, Maddie. Can you tell our readers what you're working on now?" just as Maddie wanted to answer her question, Jack holds the Ghost Gabber out "Well, it's called the Ghost Gabber, and-" "Dad, put that thing away!" Jazz annoyingly said to her father, letting that invention out of the interview.

Jazz then said to Connie, practically lying "She's actually working on a new form of self-generating energy. She's an amazing, intelligent women who's about to change the world" even though it was sweet of Jazz to answer the question for her, Maddie answered honest to Connie "Connie, my primary focus these days is ghost hunting".

That surprised Connie as she frowned "Um, forgive me. Did you say ghost hunting?" Jazz sighs deep, as her attempt to show the world that her parents aren't ghost hunting freaks fell apart.

Just then, Danny, Ember (in her human disguise), Tucker and Sam came in through the front door. Danny looked exhausted of watching the purple-back gorilla and studying seal evolution all night.

Maddie wasn't sure if she liked this 'Zoo research' that Danny had been doing all night "Danny, look at you! I'm not sure I like this overnight zoo research". Danny tried to ease her up by saying "Mom, come on. We're just a bunch of kids. In the zoo. At night. Alone" everyone stares at him. Danny sighed as he walked up the stairs before saying "We'll be in my room" and goes upstairs, with his three friends following him.

The Ghost Gabber caught that last line from Danny and translated "We'll be in my room. Fear me".

Jazz had enough of that device and took it from Jack "Give me that!" and hides it under a pillow. She then smiled to Connie "Now where were we?".

Danny and his friends were walking up to Danny's bedroom. All stopped before his door while Ember patted his shoulder and said "Here you go, Dipstick. Now you can have some well-deserved rest". Tucker's PDA then beeps. He checked it and said "But keep it quick, because you've got thirteen minutes".

Danny sighs, as he only had thirteen minutes of rest. But then, his warning ghost sense goes off. He felt it came from his room. He opens his bedroom door and saw Skulker turning visible in the doorway.

Skulker smirked as he traps both Danny and Ember in a net and pulls them into Danny's room, with the door slamming shut behind them "Danny! Ember!" Sam and Tucker both said simultaneously, while being shocked.

Skulker stood over Danny and Ember, who were still trapped in the net "Two birds with one stone" he said, feeling victorious.

Both Danny and Ember struggled to get out of the net, while Skulker was somehow impressed with Danny's willingness to protect Ember "Very interesting. A human ghost child, willing to save the life of another ghost. To bad that it'll be your final acts in this world, as I now have a unique ghost for my collection and my enemy that'll become a major trophy on my wall" Danny grew angry and struggled even harder "No! Don't you dare to lay a finger on her!" Ember was not going down without a fight an yelled "Not before we destroy you!".

That only made Skulker laugh "Hahahaha! Oh please, Ember. So many have tried, and so many have failed" Skulker then stops on a model rocket that Danny had made.

Danny and Ember had enough of this and both transformed into their ghost forms and phases out of the net. Both charged on Skulker, delivering a strong punch on him, making him crash into the wall. Skulker growls.

Sam and Tucker tried desperately to open Danny's bedroom door, but it was stuck. They heard a loud crash in Danny's room, then Jazz's voice was coming from downstairs "Hello? What's going on up there?" Sam and Tucker share a worried look, before running downstairs.

Jazz then tried to tell Connie that her parents are doing other things then ghost hunting "You know, ghost hunting isn't the only thing my parents do, Connie. It's really a side interest. What they're really into is-" then all hear a loud sound from a guitar upstairs and another large crash, making Jack yell while standing up "GHOST! GHOST! GHOST!".

As Sam and Tucker walked down the stairs, Maddie said that they need to stay away from upstairs "Kids, get down! There's a ghost in the house". Tucker then said "Actually there is-" Sam elbows him, making Tucker change his words "-to much homework to be done for there to be a ghost here. I'll… get some snacks" Tucker said while walking to the kitchen. Sam nodded and said "Yeah, Danny and Emily are upstairs" another loud crash was heard from upstairs "Uh, Danny is… lifting weights and… Emily is using the bathroom" Sam said nervously.

Maddie was getting suspicious "Danny doesn't have exercise equipment up there" then after another crash upstairs, Danny yelled "MY COMPUTER! Oh wait, that's Jazz's". Sam nervously smiled and said to the Fenton's "That's why he's using his computer".

As Tucker ran into the kitchen, Danny crashes through the ceiling and into the kitchen table, breaking it into pieces. Skulker jumps down through the ceiling in front of him "Come, Ghost Boy. Time to see your new home" he grabs Danny and goes intangible, while phasing through the floor, down to the lab.

When everyone else came into the kitchen and see the mess, all looked at Tucker of what happened "Uh… hi-ya!" Tucker strikes a karate pose next to the broken table, making it look like it was Tucker who broke the table.

"What's going on?" the journalist Connie asked. Then another crash was heard, this time coming from downstairs. Tucker then said "Sounds like rats in the lab". Jack frowns "Ghost rats. I knew it". Sam ran out of the kitchen together with Tucker, heading to the lab "Don't worry, we'll get rid of them".

Connie then was more interested in to learn more about the Maddie's son, Danny "I'd like to learn a little more about this Danny" she begins to walk towards the stairs, while Jazz tried to dismiss that idea "Uh, that's probably not such a great idea!" Maddie was then getting more suspicious, as she wants to know what Danny is being up to as well "I'd like to see what he's doing up there, anyway". Maddie also walked towards the stairs "Wait!" Jazz called, but it was to no avail.

Down in the lab, Skulker held Danny by the throat in the air. Danny struggled to get loose "What are you doing?" Skulker smirked while answering "Bringing you back to my world, where I can put you on display" he then holds up a cage of ghosts that Skulker had captured. Danny struggled even harder, while Skulker made the cage disappear and presses a button on his wrist that turned the Ghost-Portal on.

Skulker walked towards the portal, with Danny still holding by the throat "Ha! At last. And once I've locked you in your cage, Ember will follow, trying to save you. And when I have her too, I'll let you watch while I'm skinning her alive".

Danny kept struggling while yelling out "Noooo!". Sam then suddenly slides between Skulker and the portal, holding her arms out to block Skulker "No is right, Danny. Cages are wrong. How do you think Samson feels being in a cage?" Sam asked angry to Skulker, who was surprised that the human child talked to him like that "But-"

"He's a beautiful animal and deserves to roam free!"

"I…"

"Should be ashamed".

Just then, Ember phrased through the ceiling, ready to strike on Skulker, who was distracted, and hit him hard in the face with her guitar, sending him flying backwards across the room towards Tucker, who yells and runs out of the way before Skulker lands. As he sits up, Skulker sees Tucker's dropped PDA nest to him and picks it up "That technology: so sleek, so… advanced". Skulker looks at his old control panel on his wrist, then back at the PDA "Hmm, I wonder…".

Skulker then yanks the busted outdated control panel off of his armor and drops it on the floor, replacing it's slot with the PDA. As dangling wires connect to the PDA, sending huge amounts of energy to Skulker's robotic armor "Yes… yes! That's more like it!" "Hey, I got three more payments on that!" Tucker said angry. Skulker just smacked Tucker away with his hand and faced Danny and Ember, who flew at him, but Skulker then fired a new ecto-blaster from his right wrist back at them, sending them flying back, hitting a wall, with their arms and legs bound by ectoplasm.

Sam glared at Tucker "Way to go, Tucker. You just made the bad guy MORE bad!" "How was I supposed to know my PDA was ghost compatible?" Tucker answered while he shrugged.

Now fully upgraded, Skulker took a new death ray blaster from his left wrist and charged it "Now, it's time to end this" he then aimed at Ember, who was frightened. Danny struggled to get loose to help Ember, but being bound by ectoplasm, he was unable.

Just as Skulker was about to fire, the PDA on his right wrist beeps and reads what it said "What? 'Fly to library? Get a book on eating habits of purple-back gorilla?'." Then all of the sudden, his jetpack pops out and turns on, blast him towards the ceiling. Skulker had no control over it as he flies up "No, stop! The hunt is not over!". He phases through the ceiling and invisibly passes up through the living room. Jack, who climbed the stairs with the others, turns around as he thought he heard something, but then shrugs and keeps walking. Skulker phases out of the Fenton's home and flew away.

Back in the lab, the ectoplasmic binds on Danny and Ember disappeared. Both stood up while Sam asked "What happened?" Ember thought it had maybe something to do with Tucker's PDA that Skulker attached to his armor "I don't know, but he seemed to have no control over his robotic armor after taking Tucker's PDA".

Then they heard Danny's mother from upstairs "Danny, where are you? Somebody here wants to meet you".

"Oh crap!" Danny said while quickly flying back into his room, and transformed into his human self. Maddie opened the door "Danny, this is Connie, from Genius Magazine-" "Don't you people ever knock?" Danny said straight and shut the door. He then sighed in relief and said to himself "Pfew! The last thing I want is to have some journalist sniffing around my stuff. Jazz is probably going to kill me for this".

In the hallway, Jazz narrowed her eyes "I'm gonna kill him for that". But Connie was thinking about Danny's behavior "Brooding? Messy? Reclusive? Now those are the signs of a true genius. Oh! If only he were a women" she then said in disappointment.

A half-hour later, at Casper High…

Danny, Ember, Sam and Tucker arrived at school. Both Danny and Ember looked around, hoping that Skulker wasn't near "Any sign of him?" Danny asked. Tucker shook his head as he took his PDA "Nope. He hasn't bothered you two for… thirty-eight minutes. Maybe he's hunting somebody else now?".

"How many of those things do you have?" Sam asked, as Tucker had all of the sudden a whole new PDA so fast. Tucker answered "Just two," he then said to Danny "good thing I beamed all your info in here and backed it up. Global thinking, Danny, the sign of a quality time manager". Ember kept looking around, fearing that Skulker could come out any minute "Is it a good idea to even come to school? I mean, Skulker nearly killed us twice".

Even though Danny was as worried as she was, he tried to comfort her "Don't worry, as long as we stick together, Skulker can't get us both". This was giving Ember a bit more secured, as she knew that Danny would always stick at her side.

Just then, Tucker's PDA beeps and reads 'GO TO CLASS!' "Well, we better go, or we're gonna be late for class".

As all four went inside the school, Skulker phases up out of the steps, glaring at both Danny and Ember "Soon, I'll have you two. Very soon".

An hour later, After Mr. Lancer had dismissed the first class of the day, all the students left the classroom. Danny and Ember walked together their lockers. Ember tried to open hers, but it wouldn't and tried harder "Dammit!" but then figured that she was a ghost and could use her powers to get her books out of her locker "Uh… duh" she waited till the coast was clear, made her arm intangible and took some books out of her locker.

Danny had just opened his locker, as all of the sudden glowing chains jump out of it and wrap around Danny's torso and arms!

"Danny!" his three friends said shocked, as Skulker materializes out of a blue mist in front of Danny "I have you now, ghost child" Skulker then aimed his ecto-blaster at Danny. Ember was this close to transform herself back to her ghost form, as all of the sudden Skulker's PDA beeps, what surprised him and read what it said "What? Go to the news stand and purchase magazine with article about purple-back gorillas?". Skulker's jetpack activates and flies up, crashing through the school's ceiling.

The chains on Danny disappeared, releasing him. Tucker checked his PDA "Hmm, I have the same thing on mine".

Ember went over to Danny, while she thought "Wait a minute? The same thing happened back in Danny's house, just after Skulker took your other PDA, Tucker".

Danny thought about this too, while rubbing his shoulder "Yeah, it's almost like a schedule. How long before the next thing you've scheduled, Tucker?" he asked Tucker, who checked his PDA and answered "Not until… lunch. Why?".

"I have a plan…" Danny said while smiling mischievously.

A few hours later, at the football field. Two students, who looked like Danny and Ember, sat down with their lunch.

Just as the one, who looked like Danny, opens a carton of milk, two glowing blue orbs pops out of it and wraps themselves around Danny and Ember's head. Both yelled, as Skulker landed behind them "Hahahaha! Now I got you both". But then he looked surprised, as it was not Danny and Ember, but Tucker and Sam, wearing Danny and Ember's clothes "What?!".

He was then hit from behind by the real Danny and Ember, in the ghost forms and send Skulker flying forward all the way till he crashed hard on the football field. Danny and Ember landed near him, in battle mode.

Skulker growls in anger as he stood up "Grrrr! You two are gonna pay for this when, I, Skulker, shall-" his PDA beeps, and he reads "-taking pictures of gorilla?". His jetpack activates and he flies away, again. The restraints on Sam and Tucker disappeared.

Sam said while taking her hair out of the ponytail "Well, at least we know that he follows Tucker's schedule" Tucker agreed while putting back on his red hat "Yeah. What's the next step, Danny?".

"Now we need to see if we can control him. What's the next thing in my schedule?" Danny asked. Tucker looked at his PDA "Gym". Both Danny and Ember smiled mischievous to each other.

Some time later, during gym class, in the girl's locker room. Paulina was admiring her reflection in a mirror, while Star complimented her "Paulina, you got the perfect body to be a model" Paulina turned her back, while still looking in the mirror and held her hands on her hips "You think so?" Just then, Ember and Sam walked to their locker. While Sam put her bag in hers, Ember pretended she opened her locker and then said to Sam "There, in here nobody will ever find what we've been keeping a secret!" Sam, who played along, tried to hush Ember "Shhh! Quiet, Emily! We don't want anybody to know".

That caught the attention of Star and Paulina. While Ember and Sam walked away, Paulina smiled evilly while going to Ember's locker, trying to open it. Star then asked her "What are you doing, Paulina?" "Seeing what 'secrets' that goth and rock geek are hiding".

Ember and Sam peeked out from a row of lockers, together with Danny and Tucker.

As Paulina manages to open Ember's locker, a ectoplasmic goo shoots out and traps both Paulina and Star in a bubble on the wall, with their eyes covered. Skulker appears and lands in front of the two girls, inspecting them "Hmm, my sensors indicate you two are just average humans, destined for an average life after high school". Paulina and Star scream, muffled by the bubble.

Skulker then sees Danny, Ember, Tucker and Sam. He growls as he prepares to throw a ball of ectoplasm at them. Ember called to Tucker "Now, Tucker!" Tucker quickly nods and presses 'SEND' on his PDA. Skulker's PDA beeps, he reads "Go to the Amity Park stadium and run around it for ten miles?". His jetpack activates and he flies up through the ceiling.

All four friends smiled as their plan worked "It worked!" Tucker said proudly. Ember then said what the next part of Danny's plan was "Alright, now that we know that not only we can control Skulker, using Tucker's PDA, it's time for the hunter to become the hunted".

Danny nodded as he read what comes next on his schedule 'VISIT GORILLA HABITAT' "We're gonna do something a little ahead of schedule".

He and his friends were about to leave the locker room, but then Sam stopped and asked "Uhh… shouldn't we help Paulina and Star out of their captivity?". All stopped and looked at Paulina an Star for a moment, who struggled to get out while screaming, being muffled. Danny, Ember and Tucker looked at each other and said "Nah" and left the locker room. Sam sighed while narrowing her eyes, and followed them.

That evening, at the Amity Park Zoo…

Skulker was watching the purple-back gorilla, Samson in his habitat through his binoculars from a tree. He became frustrated that his prey's still hadn't shown up "Where are they? According to this infernal device-" he looked at his PDA, who was playing the game pong, and became more frustrated "-which I cannot reprogram, Ember and that ghost boy were supposed to be here an hour ago!".

He jumps down and yelled his frustration out on the gorilla "You were supposed to be the bait, you stupid animal!".

Samson turns around, revealing it Sam and Tucker, in a fake Samson suit "Samson's not stupid!" Sam said angry to Skulker, for insulting Sampson "He's also not here," Tucker said while holding his PDA and stylus "can I take a message?".

Skulker was surprised that it was those two teenagers again and now became more angry "You two again!? You'll pay for this!" he aims multiple weapons from his suit at them, ready to kill them "Oh, I don't think so…" Tucker said while pressing 'SEND' on his PDA. Skulker's PDA beeps and he checks it "Time for 500 push-ups? What?!" his body automatically starts doing push-ups, unable to control his suit "Stop! Stop! I can't… stop!".

Danny and Ember, in their ghost form fly into the air, ready to attack Skulker "We can help with that" Ember said before she and Danny charged at Skulker. Both delivered several punches and kicks, as pieces of metal fly off the suit. Ember then hit Skulker hard with her guitar in the face, sending him flying backwards till he hit the wall of the habitat. Skulker yelled out in anger as he aims a giant machine gun on Danny and shoots! Danny quickly used his Ghost shield, stopping the incoming blasts, but the force of the blasts forced him to be pushed back slowly. Danny tried to hold them as hard as he could, as sweat started to form on his head. With all the strength he gathered, he tried to push so hard, that his Ghost Shield started to glow "GGGGGRRRAAAAAAAAAH!" and just then, all the blasts that Danny caught in his shield, all fired back at Skulker with immense force!

His eyes went wide as all the blasts hit him so hard, that it send him flying backwards to the wall of the habitat again, as pieces of metal broke from his suit.

Danny looked at his glowing hands, smiling that he was not only able to deflect energy shots, but also could send them all back.

Skulker, who's suit was partly damaged, was now beyond fury as he stood up. Both Sam and Tucker's eyes went wide, that despite the enormous blasts still didn't harm him "This guy doesn't know when to quit!" Tucker yelled.

"Power him down already. Now!" Ember called. Tucker nodded and was about to send the message on his PDA, but then, an arrow hits his PDA and pins it to the tree "Aw, man! I had four more payments on this one!" Tucker said that he still had to pay four more times for the other PDA.

As Skulker puts away his bow, he growls beyond fury to Danny and Ember "THAT'S IT! I was simply gonna capturing you and put you in a cage for the rest of your life, ghost boy! BUT NOW, I WILL REST YOUR PELT AT THE FOOT OF MY BED, AND EMBER'S HEAD WILL SERVE AS MY PERSONAL CANDLE!".

"Okay, that's just gross" Sam said as how gross that sounded.

"Any last words before you die?" Skulker said as he aimed two death ray's at both Danny and Ember. Danny smirked "Just this" he then pats his head, then covers his eyes repeatedly, and then pounds his chest with his fists. Skulker raised an eyebrow, not knowing what Danny was doing "What are you doing?" Danny then scratched his butt, saying with a smirk "Calling a friend".

The purple-back gorilla flies in and crashes into Skulker. Sam couldn't believe that Danny learned Samson's language and smiled "You learned his language?" "Well, sure. All he does is this" Danny answered while scratching his butt.

Sampson continuously hits Skulker and rips his armor apart, as Danny, Ember, Sam and Tucker all cheer him on and wince at the hits. Sampson then throws Skulker, whose arm has been ripped off, down on the ground, and continues taring him apart.

As one of Skulker's robotic arms falls before them, Tucker wanders "But I still don't understand why a ghost needed a high-tech battle suit". As more pieces of Skulker's armor flies over them, Skulker's head armor is thrown and Ember catches it, while a squeaky voice come out of it and two small green legs are kicking out from inside the head "Let me go! I am Skulker! The Skulker! Do you hear me? Fear me!" "What the…?" Ember pulls on the legs to reveal Skulker's true form: a tiny green blob. Everyone is shocked.

Tiny Skulker struggles while saying "I am the greatest hunter in all of the Ghost-Zone! Do you hear me?! When I have a new battle suit, I-" instantly Ember squeezes Tiny Skulker hard in her palm out of anger "I… I can't… breath…". Ember then faced the tiny green blob with a very angry face as her blue hair fired up "You evil LITTLE-!" she squeezed him even harder, shocking Danny, Sam and Tucker.

Danny tried to calm her "Ember, stop! He's defeated!" Still angry, some tears even formed in Ember's eyes "He tried to kill me! Tried to kill… you. He deserves to pay for all that he did to us, to all the other ghosts that he harmed!" Even Sam not tried to calm her down "Maybe so, but if you kill him now, you're no better than Skulker" Ember was almost about to let him go, but still felt so much anger and pain for that Skulker did to her, and her friends.

Danny then flew before her and held her cheeks, saying softly when they looked into each other's eyes "You're not a killer, Ember. I know you. Let him go".

A tear fell from Ember's eye, as she slowly loosed her grip on Tiny Skulker, who gasped for air and said angry as Ember nearly chocked him to death "You're crazy, Ember! You're crazy!".

Danny didn't wanted this to go any further and said to Tucker "Tucker. Thermos". He nodded and activates the Fenton Thermos. Ember drops Tiny Skulker into the Thermos's beam. While the tiny blob was being sucked into the thermos, he screamed for vengeance "You haven't seen the last of me! I shall capture you all. You shall all be mine. Mine, do you hear?!". Tucker caps off the thermos.

Danny and Ember land on the ground, transforming back to their human forms. He held her shoulders, while she looked at Danny in shame "I'm sorry, Danny. I was just… so angry for all that he did" "I know, but it's over now" she smiled and both shared a hug.

Danny then said after breaking the hug "Let's go home" but then Sam asked "But you didn't get anything you could use for your report" Danny shook his head "That's okay, I still got Ember's backup plan for that report on 'Seal evolution', right?" Ember then picked up Skulker's PDA and said "Besides, we stopped the bad guy and saved the gorilla. That's all that matters".

He then looked at Samson and communicated to him, saying 'Thanks for all you help, Samson'. Samson then communicated back 'You're welcome, but… I think there is a misunderstanding here'. Danny raised an eyebrow and communicated back 'Misunderstanding?' Samson nodded while communicating back something, ending while winking her eyes like a women, what shocked Danny "Oh… my… God!".

The others didn't know what was wrong, so Sam asked "What?! What did Sampson say?". Danny looked at them, still shocked "You guys are not gonna believe this".

A few days later, at Casper High…

(April 16th, 2004)

Mr. Lancer read the cover of Genius Magazine, what says 'HE IS A SHE!' and below 'Genius child of genius women discovers gorilla male actually a female!'. Lancer opened it and read "Brooding genius Daniel Fenton did what no other researcher dared to do. He got close enough to this rare purple-back gorilla to realize Sampson was actually a Delilah" Lancer put the magazine down and was surprised that for all these years, nobody even knew that Sampson was all this time a female "Nobody at that zoo ever bothered to see if it was a boy or a girl?".

Danny shrugged while saying "That's weird, huh? Well, maybe they were respecting his, I mean, her privacy".

Lancer was a bit impressed by that as he held a new grade for his biology test "Well, Mr. Fenton, I have to admit, that was a bit impressive" "Only a bit?" Danny asked, while Lancer went on "Well, to be honest for all this hard work, I first was planning to only higher up your grade to a 'C'. But, after reading your recent report of more than 60 pages long of the wonders of Pinnipeds, caught more my attention. Wanted to get your grade up so bad, here you go" he put the new grade on Danny's desk "A 'B'.". Danny was surprised to see that higher grade, and a smile grew as he raised his fists in the air "Woohoo!".

Ember then smirked at Sam, saying "Told you that seal evolution was a good idea".

Just then, the bell rings. When Lancer was about to leave the classroom along with some other students, he said to Danny "Oh, Mr. Fenton? Next time if you want to get your grade up and don't wanna get killed by a gorilla, try the library". Danny understood and started to take his bag.

Ember then asked Danny "Satisfied?" Danny shrugged while giving a small smile "Pretty much. It was some hard work, but a 'B' is way better than a 'D'." Sam then said with a smile on her face "Not only that, Danny, now that it turns out that Samson… I mean, Delilah is a female purple-back gorilla, they plan to put her together with the other male gorilla. You're discovery may have saved their species!".

Then all of the sudden, the Box Ghost was appeared in the back of the class room and yelled at a box of files "I am the Box Ghost! And once I empty you of your useless papers, your marvelous squareness shall be mine!" he then evilly laughed.

Danny and Ember smiled mischievously and were going ghost, while Tucker said, checking his PDA "You both got five minutes" "Which is four more than we'll need. Ready partner?" Danny asked Ember "Always, dipstick". Both then started fighting the Box Ghost.

That evening, in Amity Park's Junkyard…

Danny was practicing with Ember, using his Ghost Shield. While both were in their ghost forms, Ember fired several Ghost Ray's from her guitar at Danny. He tried to deflect them and hit the bottle cans across the junkyard. He was able to knock over a dozen of them, till he stopped while wandering "Hmm, I wander why I'm only deflecting the ray's and not holding it and send it back really hard, like I did with Skulker?".

Ember landed near him and said "Maybe you can only do it when you're hit by enormous amount of energy, like you tried to hold Skulker's machine fire?". Danny figured that it might be the reason for that "Guess you're right".

Ember then put sat at the old couch, that she took from her old hiding place from the harbor, with her guitar next to her and said "Okay, break time" Danny however felt he could go on "Already? I was just getting better at this". Ember gave him a small smile while taking a few drinks from her purple bag "Danny, we've been training nonstop for two hours. A little break won't hurt" she said while opening her soda can and took a sip.

"Two hours?" Danny asked while checking his watch, seeing it was 10:50 PM, confirming that they have indeed been busy for more than two hours "Huh. Time flies when you train hard". Danny then walked over to Ember, who tossed him a soda can. Danny caught it and sat next to Ember while opening his soda can.

Both were quite for some time, watching either at the junkyard or the stars while relaxing and drinking their soda's.

Danny then broke the silence and asked "Ember?" "Yeah?" "Have you… I don't know, come up with any more songs?" Ember chuckled and answered "I have been working on a few. But there is one song that is a special one that I'm making".

Danny then asked "Can you play it for me?". That surprised Ember a bit. Though she was tempted to play it for Danny, she wanted to play it for Sam and Tucker too. So she said "It's tempting, but… I was planning to play it before you, Sam and Tucker at the same time. You know what? When It's ready, I'll play it for you guys when we're all together" "Promise?" she smiled and crossed her heart "Cross my heart".

Then Ember got a better idea. She took her guitar and gave it to Danny "Why don't you play a song?" Danny took her guitar while raising an eyebrow. But then he smiled "Okay".

Danny tried to think what song he could play "Let's see… which one, which one…?" "Just play the first one that comes to mind" Ember said, trying to help him to pick a song.

He did so, and knew what song he could play. He started hitting the strings while saying "Okay… this one is a legend…". Ember waited patiently what he was gonna play.

Danny then hit the strings hard and then softly again, while tapping his right feet.

Danny, breathed heavily because of all the energy he put on singing and playing this song. Ember cheered for him "Danny, that was amazing!".

As he wiped away some sweat of his forehead and gave Ember her guitar back, he shrugged "Thanks. I… guess I overreacted a bit there" "Are you kidding me? You were awesome!". Danny couldn't help but to smile at her. It felt great for him that somebody said that his songs were amazing, even though Ember already watched him playing before. But now, he felt more confident about it.

After an hour, Ember ended the training session and both she and Danny headed home. They first stopped over at Danny's place, as they always did. When both landed and said goodbye to another "Good night, Em" "You too, dipstick" Ember said before flying away, while Danny phased through the roof, back to his room.

Normally, Ember would fly her usual route to Sam's place. But for this time, she choose to take the long way.

When she flew over the suburbs, Ember strangely thought that this neighborhood looked familiar to her "These streets. These houses. I… I know this neighborhood". She started to land down and looked around. She was now at a playing ground, that looked so familiar to her.

She was starting to have some flashbacks… of herself… when she was just a little girl, playing around.

As Ember walked out of the playing ground, she walked into a street and started seeing more flashbacks, seeing herself as a 6 year old girl, holding hands with her mommy while she laughed. But then she heard a bit of crying from behind. It was another little girl, a 4 year old, but she looked almost like Ember's younger version. Little Ember walked back to the 4 year old and held her hands, calming her down while saying "Don't worry, Amy. You just stay close to your big sister, okay?" little Amy nodded "O… okay, Emily". Then they heard their mother calling to them "Amy! Emily! Come on!" "We're coming mommy!" little Ember called. Both she and her little sister walked hand in hand back to their mommy.

As the flashback ended, tears started to form in Ember's eyes "Amy… my sister… my little sister…".

She walked further, till she got another flashback, seeing a house on fire. Ember looked up, seeing herself in the flames, calling for help! "HELP! HELP ME!" she couched because of the smoke. She tried to get out of her room, but every exit was blocked. She started to panic "HELP! HE-" she couched more. The Ember from her flashback knew that this was her end and prayed "Please… help me! Oh God, please help me…". The flames started to surround her, burning her up. Ember screamed out her final words "AMY!".

When the flashback ended, Ember stood in front of a destroyed house, that was burned to the ground, long ago.

More tears felt from Ember's eyes as she felt on her knees, watching the place that was once her home.

This is where it all happened. This was the place… where she died….

Alright, that's all for the third chapter of my Danny Phantom story.

I hope you all liked it, especially how much I changed some parts in this chapter/episode, but I felt for myself that I wanted to keep some parts of the tv-show in my story. I also felt that Ember should be like a sort of heroine back in the Ghost-Zone and how much Skulker hated her for freeing the many ghosts he had captured, only to hunt on them. I came up with the idea that Ember would have a little sister, that would play a major role in how Ember became good

Now for the next chapter 'Attack of the Killer Garage Sale', Danny not only has to fight against Technus, but also has to make a choice, either choose to become popular and be one of the 'A-Listers', or will he choose his for his real friends? Also, Ember will tell more about her past, before she died.
