"In order to rise from its own ashes, a phoenix first must burn."
Liquid fire rushes through her chest like lava from a volcano and Alexis Underwood is confused when she blinks her blurred vision and finds herself in front of a massacre.
There is a sword of some type sticking out of her chest where a bullet wound was supposed to be and blood fills her mouth as she struggles to take a deep inhale of air. Every part of her screams to not take out the sword, however, she does causing the metal weapon to clank to the ground as she falls to her knees and clutches her wound. "Itachi, why?" involuntarily comes out of her mouth as she coughs up more blood.
The young wails of children from the building behind her cause's a strange panic to enter her already injured heart, while the young boy drenched in blood only stops a few feet from the door that her subconscious knows is to the nursery and day-care of the clan. "I'm sorry, Okimi."
"No," she gasps as she begins to crawl towards the building, instincts she knows strangely are not hers. "Not the children, they're innocent!" tears blur her vision as she struggles to take out the seal in her vest pocket. "You leave them alone!" she howled using all the strength she had left to activate the seal and throw it onto the building. Watching as the building began to glow with her defense shield, Alexis gave another struggling inhale before she slumped over.
Itachi turned with tears in his eyes, "Okimi, when?" he uttered with relief before flickering away from the sins he had just committed.
The silver-haired anbu found himself in a bloodbath, trying to remain impassive to the scene before him. Various bodies of shinobi and civilians known to either himself or to his partners litter the ground in thick pools of bloody ink.
Uchiha Akane's ash-blue hair usually kept in a pleasant hairstyle was now matted and tangled with blood and Kakashi remembers her being the one who cooked the finest eggplant soup in the whole Konoha restaurant district.
Uchiha Izumi's somewhat baby fat face was slashed to pieces with tears dried together with blood once so full of life and vibrancy. He feels the bile retch in the back of his throat as he recalls her father who once served in the same platoon as his father, Sakumo.
The house where Uchiha Obito stood was pure crumbled ash with the burnt body of his grandmother buried deep inside.
Uchiha Mikoto, the best friend of Uzumaki Kushina, laid sliced up in a pool of both her and Fugaku's blood. Even in death, Kakashi could feel her calm and elegant presence.
"WE HAVE ANOTHER SURVIVOR!" Anbu rabbit with her light lavender hair screamed with relief and terror.
He bolted over to the body and found to his surprise a young girl about ten with a deep chest wound. "What happened? Who did this!" Kakashi demanded of her as she struggled to breathe.
"Captain!" Rabbit denied disgust on her face at his actions towards the clearly dying girl.
Kakashi ignored her, "Uchiha-san who did this?" He whispered gently as he leaned over and grabbed her trembling hand covered in blood.
"The children," She pleaded as her deep honey-colored eyes blurred over with tears. "Don't let him touch the innocent's."
"Who? What children?!" Kakashi demanded with urgency.
She inhaled a rattling breath as blood slowly trickled down the side of her mouth."Itachi." She whispered with confusion and betrayal mixed within her reply.
"Captain the building behind us had an S-barrier deteriorate." Rabbit informed with suspicion and slight awe. "I hear crying coming from the building. The after-effects of the chakra left behind I can tell the barrier was put up by this Uchiha-san."
Kakashi felt his eyes widen with the knowledge that this child before him managed to create a level S-barrier. "Take the unknown Uchiha to the hospital! She is a priority and a security risk to our nation." He barked his orders before turning towards the building with hope in his chest that some of Obito's clansmen survived.
