Warning: This story contains mature content (sex, violence, strong language, etc.). Reader's discretion is advised.

I am writing this story because I feel like there is a lack of fanart and moments of Batman being unmasked by villainesses. There's plenty of fanart and moments of Batgirl and other superheroines being unmasked but not much for Batman and other heroes. That and my drawing skills are terrible.

The Man Behind The Bat

Chapter 1: The Bet

The Iceberg Lounge. A posh Gotham City nightclub and the hottest place in town according to Gotham's jaded in-crowd.

While the people there were enjoying the food, drinks and music, one woman sits at a table alone, sipping on her wine. She was Selina Kyle, the Catwoman. A costumed thief and adventurer who's played both hero and villain, beginning her career as a thief and enemy to Gotham's shadowy protector, Batman. She later tried crime-fighting before backsliding into thievery again.

She dressed her best; an elegant black dress that accentuated her curves, long white gloves on her toned arms, polished black high heels, black eyeliner and cherry red lipstick. Her short black hair, green eyes, beautiful face and well-toned body stole the gaze of several men. Even when not on a heist, she couldn't help but steal something and look good doing it.

Selina took in the sights of the club. A two-story, 12,800-square-foot restaurant and lounge including a large pool for pet seals and penguins in the center dining area, an iceberg-like sculpture in the pool, a ship themed dance floor, and polar decor. A tuxedoed jazz band on the sculpture is often seen playing tunes.

Upstairs near the bar is the private dining area of the club's owner, Oswald Chesterfield Cobblepot, the Penguin. He was up there enjoying meals with a few quests, most likely criminals.

"Gone legit. Yeah right," thought Selina as she sipped her wine.

Seemingly tiring of the criminal lifestyle, Penguin went "legit" and began running this club. He enjoys the good life but he hasn't entirely abandoned his criminal ways. He uses this club as a front for trading in illegal information and stolen goods. Some of the nightclub's more secret areas include the Penguin's office and armory and some of the Iceberg Lounge's hidden back rooms, all of which serve various criminal purposes.

He hadn't broken his bad habits and is likely to return to them given his previous lifestyle. It was a feeling that Selina was all too familiar with.

Her thoughts were interrupted when she noticed two women walking up to her. The two women she had been waiting for.

One woman had light-green skin, green eyes and long, rose-red hair. She wore a long black and green leaf print formal dress, red heels, and a red flowery bracelet on her right wrist. The other woman had pale skin, medium length pale-blonde hair, and blue eyes. She wore black eyeliner and lipstick, diamond earrings, a diamond bracelet on her left wrist, a short red dress and black heels. They were Pamela Lillian Isley and Harleen Frances Quinzel, otherwise known as Poison Ivy and Harley Quinn.

Harleen was the first to notice Selina and walked excitingly with arms wide open to greet her old friend. Selina stood up to greet her back.

"Kitty! It's been so long!" Harleen said as she hugged Selina, following up with a light kiss on each cheek.

"Stop it. You're going to get your make up on me," laughed Selina.

"Sorry, it's just that it's been forever!"

"It's been five months Harl," Pamela interrupted.

Selina and Pamela greeted each other sternly.

"Selina."

"Pamela."

"Oh let's not be that way. Come on! It's easy to lose track of time in Arkham. Lets make up for some of it," Harleen pleaded as she took a seat at Selina's table.

Selina and Pamela took their seats as well. A waiter then approached their table.

"Could I be of assistance to you ladies tonight?" asked the waiter.

"Yes. Three plates of Steak Marinade with more wine please. Thank you," said Selina.

"Right away miss," the waiter said before leaving.

Selina smiled slyly at Pamela.

"You don't mind eating meat as well as plants do you Pam?" Selina asked.

"No, I don't. Meat eats meat all the time," Pamela replied unamused.

"Hey, let's not start something here. We've had our fights but we're still friends, right?" Harleen said.

Pamela took a deep breath before replying.

"Fine. This was your idea anyway."

"Okay, that's better."

Selina was surprised. Given how crazy Harleen is, it was rare for her to be the sensible one in the situation.

"I just wanted us girls to get back together to talk. That's all," Harleen said sweetly.

"I called Selina, said sorry for anything I did to her and asked if she could get us a table here. She's done favors for little Ozzy so I figured she could and I was right," Harley said while smiling.

"Oh, it was nothing. It was the least I could do for my friends," Selina replied.

Pamela didn't say anything but she was impressed that Harley was able to convince Selina.

"Speaking of apologizing; Red? Don't you have something to say to Selina?" Harleen asked.

Pamela crossed her arms.

"Oh Red. Don't be like that please. You promised me," Harleen said sadly.

Pamela looked into Harleen's sad blue eyes before giving in.

"Alright Selina. I'm sorry for all that stuff with Hush. He was gonna kill me and Harley if we didn't do what he told us. Can you forgive me?"

Selina looked into Pamela's eyes to see if her apology was genuine. Selina had gotten better at telling and seeing through lies. She looked for few seconds before coming to a decision.

"I forgive you."

"See? I knew we were still friends. I love you two!" Harleen exclaimed as she held Pamela and Selina's hands. The three women smiled at each other.

"Excuse me ladies but your food and drinks are here," the waiter said. He returned with a plate filled with three glasses and a bottle of wine. Behind him were three other men who had brought the women their food. The men laid their plates on the table and the waiter poured wine into their glasses. The women thanked them and the men left.

The food looked and smelled delicious but before they could eat, Selina raised her glass.

"To friends," she said.

Harleen and Pamela did the same.

"To friends," they said.

Their glasses touched and they began to eat.

After a few minutes of eating in silence, Selina asked a question.

"Why five months?"

Harleen and Pamela stopped eating to look up at her.

"You were supposed to be in Arkham Asylum for a year. Why did it change to five months?"

Harleen swallowed her food and answered. "Good behavior."

"Good behavior?"

"Yup… Damn this steak is good."

"After your 'skin bleaching', you were hardly a model citizen, no offense."

"First of all, none taken. Second of all, maybe in any other city but in Gotham? I mean come on, it's freakin Gotham! Acting like a model citizen is easy when the other freaks here look and do worse," Harleen explained.

Selina looked questionably at Pamela.

"You didn't happen to… 'sway' the doctors into thinking you two were sane? Did you, Ivy?

Pamela smiled seductively while sipping from her glass. "I might've."

"Aw really Ivy? I thought the doctors liked me. I thought I was making progress…" Harleen said disheartened.

Pamela put a hand on Harleen's shoulder and tried to comfort her.

"Oh, don't think that way Harl. We got out together didn't we?

"Yeah I guess…"

Pamela quickly changed the subject.

"So Selina, what happened to you after the Hush incident?"

Selina was drinking her wine so that question caught her off guard.

"Aw shit. They were gonna ask eventually. I can't tell them much. Hush was a surgeon named Thomas Eliot who wanted to beat Batman and came close but we teamed up and he beat him. That's it. Nothing else happened. Not the him taking me to the Batcave… or revealing his secret identity as Bruce Wayne to me…or the best sex of my life…"

"Hello? Selina? We really want to know," said Harleen, snapping Selina out of her thoughts.

"Oh, uh, I just kept doing my thing. Me and Batman's partnership ended on the night he took down Hush," Selina said nervously.

"So who was Hush?" Pamela asked.

"A surgeon named Thomas Elliot with a grudge against Batman. He came close but Batman beat him," Selina said.

"Huh. So did you and Batman ever… you know…" Harleen asked while grinning.

Selina looked at both of her friends and absolutely hated the looks on their faces. Harleen was leaning closer, grinning widely while Pamela gave a sly smile and a raised eyebrow. She finished her wine and gave an answer.

"That's none of your business," said Selina.

"I'll take that as a yes," Pamela said.

"I knew it!" Harleen exclaimed.

"Yeah, yeah…" Selina flatly replied.

"So who was he under the mask?" Pamela asked.

"I don't know. Our masks were on the whole time," Selina lied.

"Kinky. I like that," Harleen said unashamed.

"Harley!"

"What!? I'm just saying!"

The three women laughed together and finished the rest of their meals and drinks. Most of the guests had left the club, leaving the three women mostly alone. They had small talk for a few minutes and reminisced about the old days.

"Remember when this place used to be called 'The Sirens'?" asked Selina.

"Remember when WE used to be called the Sirens?" asked Pamela.

"Oooh I LOVED those days. Just us three hitting the town, stealing, fighting and all kinds of crazy shit," Harleen said.

"Mmmmm… yeah…" the three women said dreamily.

Harleen then smiled wickedly as she came up with a brilliant idea.

"I don't know about you girls but I'm willing to make a bet."

"Bet what?" the other two asked.

"I bet that I can steal Batman's mask… cowl… whatever," Harleen proclaimed.

Her friends were confused.

"I mean come on. He's seen our faces plenty of times and we've spent years never knowing who he is."

Selina coughed but thankfully none of them noticed.

"If we're gonna do one last thing as the Gotham City Sirens, I want it to be this. So who's in?"

"Harley I think that's insane… I'm in," Pamela declared.

"I don't know…" Selina said unsure.

"Oh come on Selina!" Pamela said.

"Geez, I didn't think you'd be this much of a sourpuss after Batman dumped ya," Harleen said.

"He did not!" Selina yelled defensively.

Selina has had bad feelings ever since Bruce denied her a chance at a relationship without masks. She'd be lying if she said she didn't find Harley's idea exciting. And what a way to get back at Bruce.

"You know what? Yeah, I'm in too!" Selina declared.

"Then it's settled. We've got a bat to catch."

So I added in that little detail about Hush to give the reader an idea of when this story takes place. I know that it was mostly the Riddler as Hush who was behind most of it but I changed that detail to have it be Thomas Elliot the whole time. When I mention previous events in DC Comics in my stories, they won't be exact retellings of those events. I might change things here and there.

Something that I am going to do for a lot of my stories is that when characters (like superheroes and supervillains) are out of costume or unmasked, I will refer to them by their real names.

The skin colors of Harley and Ivy are like that because I plan to write a story that explains how they became that way.

The idea of the Iceberg Lounge being called The Sirens in the past is a detail from the TV show Gotham and is the inspiration for the Gotham City Sirens name in my universe.

Anyway, the second chapter is already up.
