Kelsey sat on her bed that evening. The poison had been somewhat out of her body for hours. She still felt groggy but she had been able to walk around. She hadn't been allowed to be alone. The door to her room was not locked as usual. It was wide open while she waited for Baron to appear and give her her medicine for the night.

"Hi, Kelsey," he said.

She kept her eyes on the floor as he moved over to her with the tray in his hands.

"What, no Doctor Baron tonight?" He chuckled.
"I'm not crazy," she said lowly.
"I'm not saying you are," he sighed. "But your brain isn't working right either. I'm trying to help you. That's why you need to take your medicine."

He held up the glass with the pill. He shook it so she could hear the pill hit the sides of the glass. She looked up at him.

"I'm not crazy," she repeated.
"It's either the pill or the syringe. Your choice," he said.

She grabbed the pill and swallowed it down with water.

"Open," he said.

She opened her mouth so he could inspect it. She had swallowed it. She knew there was no way around it. She had to start over with gaining his trust. It would take a long time.

"Goodnight, Kelsey," he said.

She laid down on her side without telling him goodnight. He walked out of her room, closed the door and locked it. As soon as the key turned, she heard Hornswoggle's voice.

"Kelsey," he singsonged.
"Go away!" She growled.
"Don't you wanna be friends anymore?" He asked.
"You're not real," she said.

He crawled out from under her bed and stood up. She closed her eyes so that she couldn't see him.

"Am I not real either?" Seth asked.

Her eyes flew open again. Seth stood next to Hornswoggle. That same smirk from the day before was on his face.

"I can't talk to you anymore," Kelsey said.
"Says who?" Hornswoggle asked.
"Doctor Baron," Kelsey answered.
"I never liked that guy," Seth sneered.
"I can't do this anymore. I'm dying in here. I don't wanna continue being here," Kelsey said.
"Do you want out of here, Kelsey?" Hornswoggle asked. "You know I got some magic tricks. Say the word and I'll make it happen."
"Yes," Kelsey whispered. "Please."

Seth stepped over to her and yanked her up from the bed.

"Don't fight it," Seth said.

Seth put two fingers down her throat. It burned like crazy but it had the desired effect. She threw up seconds later. On the floor was the pill among the devoured leftovers from dinner.

"There's only one way out of here," Hornswoggle said. "That is to fly. Do you wanna fly, Kelsey?"
"Yes," Kelsey answered.
"Let's go then," Hornswoggle said.
"The door is locked," Kelsey said.
"Like I said," Hornswoggle held up his hands and wiggled his fingers. "Magic tricks."

He put his index finger in the key hole and turned it around. She heard the lock click. She let out a surprised laugh. Seth took her hand and gave it a squeeze.

"When you're out of here, you're gonna be mine," Seth said.
"I'd like that very much," Kelsey said.

Seth leaned in and kissed her while Hornswoggle opened the door and peeked outside.

"All clear," Hornswoggle said. "Follow me."
"Where are we going?" Kelsey asked.
"To the roof," Hornswoggle answered.

Baron almost choked on his late night licorice snack when he saw Kelsey move out of her room on the monitor. She ran down the hall and disappeared out of the door that led to the stairway. That door was supposed to be locked. He had checked it himself just before entering his office. It made no sense. He grabbed his walkie.

"Guards! Kelsey escaped! She's on the stairs!" He yelled.

He stormed out of his office and ran to the stairs. He reached it at the same time as the guards. They ran out on the stairs and heard Kelsey giggle from further up as she walked out of the door leading to the roof. Another door that was supposed to be locked.

"The roof!" Baron barked.

All of them ran up the stairs and almost flew through the door. Kelsey stood on the ledge and looked down.

"Kelsey!" Baron yelled. "Don't do this!"

She turned her head to look at him. She was actually smiling. It made no sense. He had watched her take her pill. She was supposed to be asleep by now.

"I'm not crazy," she said.
"Get down from there," he said. "Please."
"I'm not crazy," she repeated.

She looked at Seth and Hornswoggle that were standing next to her.

"We know you're not," Seth said.
"You gotta fly, Kelsey. It's the only way," Hornswoggle said.

She turned her head to look at Baron again.

"You really can't see them?" Kelsey asked.
"Who?" Baron asked.
"Hornswoggle and Seth. The leprechaun and the ninja. They're right there," Kelsey pointed next to herself.
"No one's there, Kelsey. It's all in your mind," Baron said.
"In that case, I must be crazy," Kelsey shrugged. "Do crazy people deserve to live?"
"Yes!" Baron screamed.
"Alright, this is taking too long," Seth said.

He stepped out on the air to stand in front of Kelsey and held out his hands towards her.

"You're flying," Kelsey said.
"So will you be," Seth said. "Just take my hands and come with me. We'll be together."
"Fly, Kelsey," Hornswoggle said. "I'm your friend. Baron is an idiot. Who do you trust most?"
"You," Kelsey said. "I trust you."
"Take my hands, beautiful," Seth said. "Let's be together. Fly with me."

Kelsey took Seth's hands. His smile seemed real. She took a step forward. Baron and the guards screamed in horror as they saw her step off the ledge and crash to the ground below. They stormed to the ledge and looked down. The way her body was twisted on the ground, there was no way she could have survived that.

"Fuck!" Baron yelled. "Fuck! Fuck! Fuck!"

He followed the guards back inside. He heard someone call the right authorities to come and take care of the body. He felt numb. He had such high hopes for Kelsey, and now it was all lost. He walked back to his office and dumped down on his chair. A minute later one of the guards from the roof, Elias, stepped in.

"I need to speak to you," Elias said.
"What is it?" Baron asked.
"There have been others before her. You've only been here a year but you must have heard the stories," Elias said.
"People escaping and jumping from the roof," Baron sighed. "Yeah, I heard the stories. And no one still has no fucking clue who unlocks those doors. We must have some maniac on our team. Has anyone investigated people working here?"
"Everytime," Elias said. "And you're not getting what I'm trying to tell you."

Elias walked over to Baron's computer and clicked his way into some old files. All files from the people that had managed to commit suicide from the roof. Baron had never looked into them since none of them had been his patients. It all happened before he got hired.

"Look at them," Elias said.
"I see them," Baron said.
"No, look at them!" Elias said more firmly. "Read up on them. Soon you'll realize they all have one thing in common."
"What?" Baron asked.
"Hornswoggle and Seth. The leprechaun and the ninja. They all saw them," Elias said.
"That's not possible," Baron said.
"Fine, they all had the same hallucination despite these patients never being here at the same time," Elias said.

Elias stomped back to the door, then turned and looked at Baron again.

"Wake up, Baron!" Elias growled. "Whoever or whatever those two beings are, they're here. They're real. And they're picking out patients one by one."
"What do they want from them?" Baron asked.
"How the fuck should I know?" Elias shrugged. "They make them kill themselves. That's all I know. I like to think they're all having a blast in the afterlife though, because anything else is just too damn painful to think about."
