RWBY Reacts to Yu-Gi-Oh 5d's Dubbed
Episode 2 – Creepy Crawlies!
The episode starts with a view of the Satellite-sector. We then zoom in at some ruined streets where Yusei's racing underneath of.
"I think it's safe to say those cops are leaving him alone for now." Blake observed but had a feeling Trudge won't keep his promise forever.
"Hopefully the rest of his friends are okay too." Ruby hoped.
Yusei started reminiscing in his mind. 'You beat me once Jack, but I learned my lesson.'
"So Jack and Yusei have dueled before?" Ruby asked curiously.
"And it sounds like Jack won." Yang said sorely.
We're then shown a flashback in which Yusei is dueling Jack while Rally and the rest of the crew watch.
"You'll never win this duel Yusei." Jack claimed as he had Mad Archfiend on his site of the field.
Weiss looked suprised at the flashback. "Hold on. They're not playing the game on motorcycles? They're just standing a few feet away from one another."
"This was before either of them had a functioning Duel-Runner." Saixus explained. "Those devices on their arms are called Duel-Disks and this is how the game was played before Duel-Runners were created. While maybe a bit less awesome looking then duels played on Duel-Runners, a lot of people in this universe who play this game play it in this format instead of the one with Duel-Runners."
"So it's basically the same game but without motorcycles?" Blake asked.
"Most of it is." Saixus told her. "The only major differences are that there are no speed-counters or speed-spells in this format."
Weiss smirked. "Now this looks a whole lot safer. No risk of driving off the road or accidentally hitting someone when your focused on the game. All while being able to keep the game safely contained in your own backyard."
"Imagine how people must have reacted when this game first game out though." Yang said with a grin as she was imagining some ordinary people doing their own thing, when suddenly a giant dragon appears out of nowhere. "Their reactions must have been great! I'd get myself a Duel-Disk just to play pranks on people."
Yusei frowned at Jack's claim while having Junk Warrior out on the field. "You sure are sure of yourself."
Jack smirked. "Just sure, that I'm gonna beat you. Yusei, bring it on!"
Yusei grinded his teeth before saying "You got it Jack, Junk Warrior sent him to the scrap-heap!"
Junk Warrior flew towards Jack's monster but was suddenly halted by a bunch of chains that appeared in front of him. The chains quickly wrapped around Junk Warrior and even started to electrocute him.
"What's that?" Yusei asked in disbelief while Jack had a satisfied smirk on his face.
"It's my trap, Shadow Spell, and with it I'm gonna finally put an end to your unbeaten streak Yusei! Now Mad Archfiend, attack!"
Mad Archfiend did just that as it started grinding down the skull in its stomach and shot the fragments straight at Junk Warrior, who was destroyed soon after. And with that attack, Yusei lost the last of his life-points.
Ruby looked sad at seeing Junk Warrior getting destroyed like that. "I can't believe Yusei lost."
"And it looked so one-sided in this flash-back." Blake pointed out. "Jack was very confident in his win. It was like he already knew the result beforehand."
Yang frowned at Yusei's defeat. "To be fair, Yusei should have known that Jack was up to something the second he invited him to attack. If your opponent wants you do to something specific, it's because they have a plan for it. That's card-games 101."
Weiss meanwhile looked away from the screen. Seeing a skull getting crushed into tiny fragments and using said fragments as projectiles was not something she wanted to see today.
Yusei kneeled down on the ground. "How could I let that happen?" He asked in disbelief before punching the dirt.
Yusei friends also stared in shock at the scene.
"Did he… just lose?" Rally asked in disbelief.
Jack started to approach Yusei and said "He did, and do you know why our friend just lost? Because his deck has no balance. And without balance, one cannot be a complete Duelist. But you know that already, don't you Yusei?"
Ruby frowned at Jack. "Does he really have to patronize him right now? Yusei's already upset he lost! Does he really need to throw him more shade?"
"Only thing worse than a sore-loser is a sore-winner." Blake stated causing the rest of the girls to flinch. They all know they can be a bit too happy after winning a game.
Saixus noticed the scene change to Yusei getting ready on his Duel-Runner. "Alright Ruby. Here's the opening, as promised."
That cheered Ruby up a bit as she started paying full attention at the screen.
Going fast makes me feel alive
My heart beats in hyper drive
Do you think you can win
Only if I lose?
Just let destiny choose
I can hear you breathing
I can see you coming
I can feel the wind
It's blowing me around
Ruby and Yang were banging their heads to the music while Weiss was doing her best not to but couldn't deny the song was quite catchy.
Blake also liked the song but was mad that Assault Dog had a one-second appearance in it. She really wanted to forget that armed dog's existence but now she would be reminded of him every time they watched a new episode.
Take a shot at me running side by side
It's a blur... as I go by
I can hear you breathing
I can see you coming
I can feel the wind
It's blowing me around
See the sun arising
Fire in the sky
Greatness thrusts itself into our lives
Ruby eyes shined as the opening ended. "That. Was. Awesome! The song was so cool and did you see those monsters at the end? What was that dragon? Is that the card Jack stole? And did you see-"
"Alright sis, chill." Yang brought her sister back to Remnant. "Yeah it was cool but give someone else a chance to speak their minds."
Ruby nervously laughed before rubbing the back of her head. "Hehe, sorry. But that song just got me so hyped!"
"I can understand that." Blake admitted. "Aside from the abomination against nature reappearing, this opening wasn't so bad."
"I do wonder who that guy with the long gray hair was…" Weiss said curiously. "I did not like the way he smiled at that one point. And who were those two children we saw?"
"They're probably people we'll meet later in the show." Yang figured. "But did you see that epic clash between Jack's dragon and Junk Warrior? Two words, pure awesomeness."
"Nice to see the opening got your approvals." Saixus commented. "Now let's get back to the show, shall we?"
The screen showed a bird's point of view of New Domino City before switching to Jack Atlas' residence. It was located on one of the highest skyscrapers in the city.
Jack was busy thinking to himself. 'Ah, now this is the view that I was always meant to have. Even if I did have to double-cross a few friends to get it. And to think it was only a few years ago that I was living amongst the losers and garbage of the Satellite. I'm glad that nightmare's over.'
To say Ruby was mad at what Jack was currently thinking would have been an understatement. "Oh yeah sure, getting a nice view from your window was TOTALLY worth stabbing your buddies in the back for. NOT!"
"I still don't get how stealing Yusei's motorcycle and best card got him a place like this." Weiss wondered as she knew a luxury-home on top of a skyscraper like that could not be cheap.
"He must have a pretty good sponsor." Blake figured while seeing Jack in this place gave her double-feelings. On the one hand, she also didn't think Jack deserved to live in a place like this. But on the other hand, this proved that it was also possible for people from the Satellite to become successful. Oum knows she could count the amount of Faunus who lived in place like that on one hand… herself included.
Yang meanwhile was grinding her teeth. Someone who stole someone else's ride should be giving a black-eye, not some sweet place to stay!
Jack then looked at the card he had in his hand. 'Hmm, Stardust Dragon. I wonder if Yusei still misses you.'
"So that's the card he stole from Yusei." Blake worked out.
"Stardust Dragon." Ruby repeated. "That's a pretty name for a dragon."
The man with long gray-hair from the opening was also present in the room. "Quite the view, isn't it Jack? Still thinking about your days in the Satellite?"
"I'm done thinking about that dump, Goodwin." Jack replied.
"So the guy's name is Goodwin." Ruby noted. "I wonder what he does for Jack."
Weiss took a guess. "Maybe he's his manager?"
"Or a long-lost relative of his." Blake guessed.
"Or his butler." Yang guessed which caused RWB to look at her. "I mean he does kinda look like one."
Goodwin was glad to hear it. "That's good Jack, because dwelling in the past can sometimes cost you your future. And we've worked too hard to let that happen."
"Okay so he's probably no butler." Yang admitted as she frowned at Goodwin's advice. "He's not necessarily wrong about dwelling in the past but I don't like the way he worded it."
Blake gave a look at her teammate and knew that she was referring to her missing mother and how searching for her almost got herself and Ruby killed when they were young. She then frowned herself as she thought about her own past and how it was still affecting her present.
"Now shouldn't you be focusing on your match this evening?" Goodwin asked which Jack responded to by throwing Stardust Dragon back into his deck. Goodwin looked quite surprised at the feat.
The members of team RWBY shared Goodwin's reaction.
"Did he just…" Weiss was pretty sure physics didn't work that way. "What?! How did he throw that card back into his deck like that? Where was the wind-resistance? Are those cards made out of steel or something?!"
"That did look pretty cool though." Yang acknowledged before turning to Saixus. "But seriously though, are those cards made out of a special kind of paper or-?"
Saixus wanted to answer but then remembered all the times those cards managed to pierce through objects that they shouldn't have been able to pierce. "...Let's try not to think too hard about that."
"I'm plenty focused Goodwin." Jack stated confidently. "You don't have to worry about me dwelling on the past. Cuz if I had my way, the Satellite would have been destroyed years ago."
Ruby looked shocked. "He… he would have no problem with his old home getting destroyed?!"
Yang shared her younger sibling's expression but hers had more anger in it. "That thieving little-"
"I understand how you feel." Goodwin told him as the Satellite's recycling-plant appeared on screen. "But the Satellite plays a valuable role in our society. Everyone has been given a role in life. Those from the Satellite exist so that the chosen may prosper. They keep our city functioning by recycling what the chosen discard. Without the Satellite, New Domino City could not exist. Glamorous a role it is not, but a necessary one for everyone's survival."
Blake glared at the screen as she saw how many people were working at the recycling-plant. "I understand that this kind of work may be necessary for their society but these people never even got a choice in the matter. There basically being told to either to this or starve to death!"
Weiss was really not liking how this whole situation reminded her of home. No doubt her father would have whole heartedly agreed with Goodwin's point of view.
Ruby was glad to see Nervin and Blitz were alright. No doubt this meant Rally and Tank got away too.
Goodwin continued. "But you know that already, don't you Jack? How silly of me to give a history lesson to someone who experienced it first-hand. Now leave your memories of that place where they belong. It's time for you to make new ones."
"You're right." Jack agreed before saying "But what if my past comes looking for me?"
"Is he talking about Yusei?" Ruby asked.
"Of course he is." Yang answered. "He set-up that elaborate trap in the first episode remember? Guy's obviously afraid Yusei's gonna come looking for him."
"Perhaps…" Blake stated while avoiding eye-contact. She didn't want to admit it, but that fear Jack had of someone from the past coming to look for him was one she understood all too well. After all, there's also someone in her past who she doesn't want to cross paths with again any time soon.
Weiss noticed something else. "What's that strange tattoo Jack has on his right-arm? I think I saw it back in the opening as well. Is it another one of those tracking-marks?"
"No it isn't." Saixus quickly answered, not wanting to give the girls too much information.
"Then it's just some random tattoo?" Ruby wondered while Blake made a mental-note to remember Jack's tattoo. It just yelled plot-device to the experienced reader.
Back in the Satellite, Rally stood at the abandoned subway-tunnel while holding a stopwatch in his hand.
"Wait." Weiss looked at the scene in bewilderment. "Are they still using the same hideout from the first episode?"
Yang took a closer look at the TV. "It could just be a very similar looking place but I doubt it."
Weiss resisted the urge to face-palm. "Okay, can someone please explain to me why they're still using that hideout? Sector Security already found them here! Why would they think going back there's a good idea?!"
Ruby knew the answer to that. "Don't you get it Weiss? Those guys would never think to look for Yusei and his friends at a hideout they themselves hunted them out of. It's the last place they would ever think to look for them. It's genius!"
Yang had another answer. "That or Trudge's living up to his side of the deal and is keeping the other officers away from that place."
Weiss decided to agree with Ruby since the idea of Trudge still being an officer at this point sounded way more farfetched to her. Nevermind that he would somehow still have enough authority left to keep other officers at bay.
Rally was patiently waiting until he heard the sound of Yusei's Duel-Runner approaching. Yusei speeded by Rally in a matter of seconds before pressing the breaks.
Rally looked at his stopwatch and was very impressed. "Woah." He then started running towards Yusei whose wheels were still smoking from the trip. "Yusei! That's your best time yet!"
Yang tried not to sound too impressed. "Big deal. Me and Bumblebee could easily break whatever record he just set."
"Talk to us again when Bumblebee can travel at a constant speed of over 200 kilometers an hour." Weiss responded which caused Yang to glare at the smirking Ice-Queen.
"You think it's gonna be fast enough to get you to New Domino City?" Rally excitingly asked.
"I'd better be." Yusei said to the kid.
"How though?" Weiss asked skeptically. "Even if he has a fast motorcycle he's still on an island. Unless there's some sort of bridge I'm unaware of, he's not getting out of there any time soon."
"Well Jack made it out with Yusei's first Duel-Runner." Blake recalled and Yang once again growled at the mention of Jack and his cowardly deed. "Maybe there's some secret passageway that connects the Satellite with the city, like a big sewer-system of something."
Weiss nearly barfed and hoped that whatever plan Yusei had to get to the city was a bit more hygienic.
"I just know it's gonna work!" Rally stated optimistically.
"I hope your right." Yusei said before getting ready to drive another round. "Time me again."
Yusei speeded off leaving Rally to watch in amazement.
Yang smiled at little. This reminded her of how amazed Ruby looked when she first showed off Bumblebee to her.
Jack was shown next and was still staring out his window.
Aaaaand the smile was gone.
"Jack, you're a part of New Domino City now." Goodwin reminded him. "And the only link you have to the Satellite is Yusei Fudo. And you can rest assured that we're taking every precaution to keep that link buried."
"Great." Yang sarcastically said. "Evil-Ozpin's also helping Jack make Yusei's life more difficult."
"He may even be the one who suggested to Jack that locking Yusei up would be in his best interest." Weiss theorized before turning to Yang. "Evil-Ozpin?"
"Well he talks a lot like Ozpin." Yang pointed out. "He also gives off the same kind of atmosphere. Only were Ozpin feels like someone you can easily trust, this guy feels like he's constantly up to something."
"To be fair…" Ruby cut in. "There have been times when it felt like Ozpin was up to something too."
"True…" Yang had to admit. "Then again, maybe I just think they're similar because they have the same hair-color."
Some relaxing music played in the background as Nervin, Blitz and Tank were walking through the recycling-plant while carrying multiple boxes.
"Okay Nervin." Tank talked to the glass-wearer. "You're turn."
"I'm thinking a cheeseburger with bacon and extra onion rings." Nervin stated.
Blitz sounded impressed. "Oh, don't forget the French fries and an extra thick milkshake."
Ruby and Yang's mouths were basically drooling. Ruby waved away her drool before saying "That sounds delicious."
"I know." Yang agreed. "Now I'm in the mood for some burgers."
"You literally just finished an entire back of popcorn." Weiss deadpanned. "Also do you want to get fat, because that's how you'll get fat."
Yang was not worried. "Uhm hello? We're huntresses in training, remember? I could eat five cheeseburgers in a row and have all the calories burned off before the end of the day."
"…She's got a point." Blake admitted silently being thankful for her exercises as well. Oum knows how much weight she would have put up from all those fishies if she didn't work-out daily.
"Good one." Tank admitted as he struggled a bit with his load.
"Or lemonade." Blitz suggested.
Ruby agreed with Blitz. "Nothing like a fresh soda after a long day of work! …Or training in our case."
At Blitz's suggestion Yang started feeling a little dry and saw the empty cola-bottle laying on the floor. "Hey Saix-guy. Can I get some soda over here?"
"Oh, I want one too!"
"Sure." Saixus said before snapping his fingers and making two cold cans of soda appear in the sisters hands.
Tank continued talking as the friends started walking towards three people who were sitting on a bench. "Hmm, but nothing beats dipping hot French fries into a cold chocolate shake. It really brings out the flavor."
Weiss tried to hold back another barf. Was this episode actively trying to get her to vomit?!
Blake narrowed her eyes at the three guys sitting on the bench. Something told her these people were gonna be trouble.
"Oh I could dream about it." Tank said dramatically as they started walking past the sitting thugs, not noticing that the one with blue-hair suddenly moved his feet in front of Tank. "So guys, you think we'll ever taste a real cheesebhaaaa!" Tank tripped over the thug's feet and ended up falling on the floor along with all his boxes.
Ruby and Yang spit out their soda and stared wide-eyed at the screen along with Weiss and Blake. None of them were currently focused on Tank's fall however.
"They… they've never had a cheeseburger before?" Ruby asked in both shock and genuine sadness.
"That's just… wrong!" Yang knew no other words to describe this travesty as even more concerned thoughts raced through her mind. "Does that mean they've never had fries either? Or smoothies? or sodas? Or pizza? OR ANYTHING JUNKFOOD RELATED?!"
While Blake was also stunned by this revelation, she managed to wheel herself back in. "I guess they don't sell those kinds of food in the Satellite. Maybe they found packages of them in the thrash but-"
"WHAT KIND OF MESSED-UP PLACE IS THIS?!" Ruby frantically screamed before blinking as one of the most horrible thoughts she had ever had in her life entered her mind. "D-does this mean they've also never had… cookies? Or milk? HOW DO THESE PEOPLE SURVIVE WITHOUT THEM?!"
"And all they can do is imagine how they taste…" Weiss was trying to keep a straight-face but she couldn't help but feel sorry for these people. That one time the team had forced her to come to that burger-joint where she had a cheeseburger for the first time in her life was one of the greatest experiences she ever had!
Nervin and Blitz turned around at their friend's sudden cry. Blitz was the first to react. "Tank!"
"What happened?" Nervin asked as he and Blitz threw their boxes on the floor.
Blake blinked at the sudden action. "Uhm, it's good that they're worried about their friend but did they have to throw all those boxes on the floor like that?"
"Good thing they were only carrying metal-parts and not something easily breakable." Weiss stated as the random act had brought her back from shocks-town.
Tank struggled to get up. "I fell."
"No duh, SherTank Homes!" Yang couldn't hold back as she and her sister were slowly recovering from the junkfood drama.
"He didn't fall though." Ruby said while glaring at the sitting blue-head. "That guy tripped him!"
"On the contrary." The tripper spoke up. "It's actually called a trip."
The guy wearing sunglasses spoke up next. "It looks like he scuffed up your shoe real bad. What do you think he should do about it?"
The other guy snickered at the question.
The boss of the two henchman gave his idea. "How about he buys me a brand new pair of kicks and we'll call it even? I wear a size 11."
"Okay these guys deserve to get punched!" Yang angrily stated.
"Why on Remnant would he need to buy you new shoes?!" Ruby asked fiercely. "You're the one who tripped him! If anything you guys should be the ones to pay them back by helping them put all those parts back into those boxes!"
"I doubt they're gonna help them clean up Ruby." Blake declared while letting out a sigh. Guess even other universes aren't spared from bullies.
"You'll get nothing got that." Blitz stated as a matter of fact. "Unless you want a bruise to match that mark on your face. It would be an improvement."
"Ooooooh!" Yang yelled out feeling pretty proud at Blitz right now. "Shots fired!"
While Weiss was also proud Blitz stood up for them, she couldn't help but feel that was not the smartest thing to do. "He does know that those marks on their faces mean that they've been to prison right? I don't think they're gonna laugh off that remark."
Blake frowned at the heiress. "While I agree that that may have not been the smartest thing to say, you shouldn't judge these people just because they have a mark. My case and point, Rally."
Weiss wanted to respond to that but quickly realized that Blake had a good point.
The blue-head was not pleased with Blitz' burn. "I'll show you an improvement!"
Yang looked very disappointed. "That's the best come-back he came up with? Really?"
He grabbed Blitz' shirt before smirking and readying his fist.
"Guys? A little help!" Blitz shouted before getting punched straight in the cheek.
Ruby gasped at the sudden punch. "What was that for?!"
"Bullies tend to get pretty violent when the guy they're trying to bully decides to take a stand." Blake said with a glare.
"Kind of like with Jaune huh?" Yang remembered. "At least Blitz stood up to them immediately instead of letting those guys walk all over him."
"For all the good it's gonna do him." Weiss pointed out as she had flinched at the sudden punch. "Something's telling me Blitz and his friends are gonna go home with a lot of bruises."
"Oh come on Ice-Queen." Yang had fate. "Sure the guy got a good hit on Blitz but I think they can still handle-"
The next scene showed Blitz getting a bandage on his cheek by Rally. His cheek was not the only place he got hit as his face was covered in bandages along with his two buddies.
Yang blinked at the scene before sighing in defeat. "Never mind."
"All better." Rally stated.
Blitz disagreed. "Oh really? Then can you please explain to me why it still hurts so much? I thought you knew what you were doing Rally!"
"Hey don't get mad at him!" Ruby said while glaring at Blitz. "It's not his fault you got hurt!"
Blitz stopped blaming Rally and started blaming himself. "Yeah and I guess I did too when I stood up against that bully. Boy was I wrong, I mean they just ran us over!"
"Their fight was that one sided?" Yang asked confused. "But you guys had equal numbers and that snickering guy looked skinnier then a beanstalk!"
"To be fair, Tank got hurt beforehand and Nervin doesn't look like the wrestling type." Blake summed up. "That along with the fact Blitz got hit first in the face gave them a pretty big disadvantage."
"I think it's also fair to assume none of those three have their Aura's unlocked." Weiss assumed. "Tank seemed pretty hurt from a simple trip and that combined with all the injuries those three got-"
Saixus interrupted her. "Remember how I said that there are no Grimm in this world? Well the same is true for Auras."
"WHAT?!" Team RWBY shouted in surprise.
"Yeah but it doesn't mean the people of that world are soulless or anything like that." Saixus stated as fact, giving all the times souls got stolen in this show. "Theirs just aren't weaponized."
"I guess they wouldn't have much use for Aura since there are no Grimm in this world." Weiss followed the logic. "But it's still quite hard to believe."
Saixus gave the heiress a look. "Harder than believing in the existence of a universe where they play card games on motorcycles?"
Weiss couldn't argue against that.
Nervin agreed with Blitz. "I know! I didn't even get a chance to get in the fetal-position."
Tank looked downcast as he said "And now I gotta buy some new shoes for that guy."
Now it was Yang's turn to face-palm. "I swear, if he actually buys some shoes for that bully-"
Rally tried to cheer them up. "Guys come on, lighten up. Yusei maxed out his Duel-Runner!"
"Yeah?" Blitz asked skeptically. "Like how maxed out?"
"Enough to get out of here." Yusei answered.
"Again how?!" Weiss asked for what felt like the tenth time.
Yang was also getting impatient. "Yeah start telling us your plan already!"
Rally was busy hyping. "You should have seen him in his runner speeding through the tunnels! It was like vroom, then whish, then zhroom! Yusei, are you gonna go for it tonight? You gonna try and get to Domino City?"
Yusei nodded yes causing Rally to get even more excited while Blitz on the other hand looked worried. "Uh, does anybody aside from me have a bad feeling about all this?"
"I do." Nervin answered. "But that's not really saying much because I always got a bad feeling about everything."
"Whoever gave Nervin his name made a perfect choice." Yang said with a smirk.
Ruby agreed. "He should really try and be more positive."
Yusei couldn't argue against that. "Yeah, but don't worry guys because I got it all planned out, I think." That last part caused all of Yusei's friends to glance at him curiously and in worry.
"Well that certainly won't convince them to stop worrying." Blake said.
We then switch over to Sector Security's headquarters, where Trudge was currently having a discussion with his superior. "Captain I know you're less than happy about Yusei getting away, but is this new pursuit-deck really necessary? Cuz I don't need any help catching that Satellite."
"ARE YOU KIDDING ME?!" Weiss shouted in disbelief. "HE GOT TO KEEP HIS JOB AFTER THE STUNT HE PULLED!"
"And he got some new cards too." Yang observed. "If anything, he got a raise."
Weiss face-palmed while Blake was silently thankful at the officer getting a new deck. 'Hopefully there are no dogs in this one.' she thought, not noticing the Guard Dog in said deck.
"Well judging from your last duel with him I beg the differ." The captain voiced his thoughts on the matter. "Now listen up, if I had my way you would have been handing out parking tickets until you're retired and this special pursuit-deck would have gone to someone who goes by the book!"
"Then why didn't you?!" Weiss asked not knowing her question would get answered immediately.
"But apparently, mister Jack Atlas thinks you deserve a second chance, and when Jack Atlas says do something I do it."
Weiss face-palmed once more and Ruby was starting to get worried about her face.
Blake narrowed her eyes at the captain. "This Sector Security force is really corrupt. Even if Jack's pretty famous, that does NOT give him the right to order cops around like this."
"I guess he gave that officer a pretty big paycheck to keep Trudge onboard." Yang figured. "I wonder why he's helping Trudge out though?"
"Maybe they're friends from back when he still lived in the Satellite?" Ruby guessed.
"Or maybe Trudge knows a thing or two about Jack that he'll expose if Jack doesn't let him keep his job." Blake figured.
Weiss let out a frustrated sigh. "At least Ironwood doesn't let himself get bribed like this."
Trudge understood. "So what are my orders?"
"Find Yusei and his Duel-Runner and bring them in. There are some very powerful people that want him off the streets permanently."
"Why is he suddenly being so cryptic about who wants Yusei arrested?" Ruby asked confused. "He just said that Jack was the one who ordered him!"
"He said 'some' Ruby." Blake said while also thinking about this plot-point. "There may be more people out there that want to see Yusei in a cell."
Trudge was happy with his orders. "Hmm, understood captain."
The captain then gave Trudge a warning. "And just you remember, there are no third chances with mister Atlas. Am I making myself perfectly clear officer Trudge?"
"Yes sir." Trudge responded confidently. "He may have caught me off guard in our last duel but next time I'll be ready. And will he ever be surprised."
"Looks like we'll be seeing a rematch between Trudge and Yusei sooner than we thought." Yang said.
Weiss was not enthusiastic about that. "As long as that captain keeps his word about Trudge not getting a third chance, I can live with it."
"Thank you sir, you won't be disappointed." Trudge assured him before making his way down some stairs and started giving orders to some guy doing dispatch. "When you lock onto the chip's homing-signal let me know."
Back with Yusei and friends, Yusei was about to reveal how he was gonna get to New Domino City.
"So what's this plan you think might work Yusei?" Tank asked while Yusei was working on his laptop.
"Please don't say sewer-pipe, please don't say sewer-pipe…" Weiss repeated over and over again.
"Oh it's gonna work Tank!" Rally said confidently.
"Well I hope you're right Rally." Yusei cut in. "Cuz if everything falls into place, Stardust Dragon will be mine again, and we'll all be one step closer to leaving the Satellite."
Weiss stopped repeating herself as she blinked at the TV. "Is... is he saying the only reason he wants to go to the city is to get his card back?!"
Blake was also dumbstruck by this. "He's willing to risk going to prison… for a card?"
"And to get even with Jack!" Yang quickly added.
"And to find a way for all his friends to leave the Satellite too!" Ruby also cut in.
Weiss was pinching her eyes closed. "And how is a trading-card going to help him achieve that?"
"Uhm…" Ruby thought about it for a while. "…I've got nothing."
Blitz wasn't so sure about this. "Yus, are you sure that card is worth the risk? I mean, you really think that card is gonna make a difference?"
"Thank you Blitz." Weiss was happy that someone was asking the obvious question.
Yang was focused on something else. "Where the heck did all their bandages go? They were all beat up before but now they all look perfectly fine!"
Saixus face-palmed and said "Do yourself a favor and ignore that."
"But-"
"I said ignore it!"
"Of course it will!" Tank stated with conviction. "Don't you remember the feeling when you first saw it in action, cuz I'll never forget it."
We then cut to a flashback that showed Yusei with his first Duel-Runner.
Weiss smiled once again at seeing how Jack's Duel-Runner originally looked. She really couldn't help but wonder how someone thought giving it a giant wheel that obstructs your vision was a good idea.
Tank continued talking. "Seeing the Duel-Runner Yusei built from spare-parts from the recycling-center was amazing! And then when Yus started it up and showed us what it could do, it was like a whole new world opened up!"
"Yeah! And then when he summoned his Stardust Dragon, I couldn't believe my eyes or ears! I mean, you were screaming at the top of your longs Blitz." Nervin reminisced as Stardust Dragon took the sky in all its glory.
Ruby had stars in her eyes once again. "That dragon looks absolutely amazing! I know we already saw it in the opening but it just looks so cool and pretty at the same time!"
"It does look pretty awesome." Yang admitted.
"But is it really worth risking his freedom for?" Blake asked with a raised eyebrow. "At least when we Faunus decide to break the law it's because of survival reasons or to help each other out. The White Fang are far more extreme, but I still don't see how getting that card back would benefit Yusei."
"He's gonna get payback against Jack for one." That was reason enough for Yang.
"And help his friends get out of the Satellite too!" Ruby stated and Weiss just sighed not wanting to ask the obvious question 'how' again.
"That's right." Blitz remembered. "I lost my voice for a week after all that hollering."
Weiss knew from all her signing practices that losing your voice was no fun. "I feel like he's over-exaggerating. If he's not though, he has my sympathies."
"Too bad Jack took away our dreams." Blitz said bitterly as Jack was watching everything unfold in the background.
Yang frowned at that reminder. "Way to ruin the mood Blitz."
Ruby agreed. "Yeah, just when everybody was getting hyped too!"
Rally did not let that reminder get to him. "Well Yusei is about to get them back. Cuz with this new runner, Jack doesn't stand a chance!"
"Yeah!" Tank agreed and then asked impatiently "What are we waiting for?"
"Midnight tonight." Yusei answered causing the others to look at him confused.
"Why?" Nervin asked. "What's a midnight?"
"The tiniest of opportunities." Yusei responded as he pressed a few keys on his laptop. "Check this out guys. See, the only way between the Satellite and New Domino City is this sewer-pipeline here."
Weiss was starting to feel sick again. "Please tell me he's kidding."
"From what we've seen of Yusei so far, he's not much of a joker." Blake said while also looking a bit green. Just because she predicted this possible escape-route didn't mean she wanted it to true.
Yusei continued his explanation. "Problem is, they flood it with thrash 24-hours a day, seven days a week."
"So it's more of a thrash-pipeline then a sewer-pipeline." Blake noted looking slightly better.
Weiss however did not. "That's hardly any better!"
"How can one city produce that much thrash though?" Ruby asked.
"You'd be surprised how much stuff people throw away." Saixus answered. "Especially those living in big cities."
"But once a month at midnight, they shut the system down to check the compressor-pumps." Yusei told them before pointing to a hatch. "Then a maintenance hatch is automatically opened and that's when I'll get my chance to make it through."
"I see." Blake understood. "That's why he's been practicing so much with his Duel-Runner. The trash-flood will probably only stop for a few minutes, so Yusei has to go through that tunnel as fast as possible."
"Think Jack might have escaped the Satellite the same way?" Yang asked.
"It's possible but I doubt it." Blake stated. "If someone else made it through that small hatch before then no doubt they would seal the tunnel off to prevent someone else from escaping the Satellite this way."
Nervin was not onboard. "A sewer? That sounds… a bit unhygienic."
Weiss completely agreed as her face was starting to look normal again.
Nervin continued. "The odors and fumes alone-"
"Remind us of you." An intruder suddenly spoke up as one of his minions laughed.
"Yeah you stink like the garbage you recycle." The minion wearing sunglasses said.
"Oh great." Yang said sarcastically. "Those three again."
"They must have followed Blitz and the others back to their hideout." Blake figured.
"How's the healing going?" The blue-haired guy from before asked as the small stink-eye minion laughed again.
"As well as yours for some reason." Yang pointed out as none of the bullies looked injured either. "Do wounds just heal really fast in this world or-?"
"Ignore it." Saixus stated again.
"But it's just so-" Yang began but didn't like the glare Saixus was sending at her. "I'll ignore it."
"Good."
Yusei looked at the bullies which the one with sunglasses didn't appreciate. "Hey you with the hair! You think you're a tough guy! Cuz I'll show you what tough is!"
"I would say barking dogs don't bite, but he has already disproven that." Was all Weiss could say about the bully's threat while Blake flinched at the dog related idiom.
The short guy snickered threateningly.
"Okay, can this guy only snicker?" Weiss asked in an annoyed-tone. "Because it's starting to get annoying."
"Get used to it." Saixus answered also feeling annoyed. "Guy never makes any sound other than snickers, which in my opinion is way more annoying than if he didn't say anything at all."
Yang imagined Neo constantly snickering during their fight and agreed with Saixus. Neo repeatedly smiling during their fight was bad enough.
"That's a pretty sweet runner you got there." The blue-head stated as he and his minions started approaching Yusei and his group. "How much do you want for it?"
Yang glared at the bullies as she already knew the bullies were not interested in buying Yusei's bike. "Why those little- Yusei's already lost one ride before, NO WAY are those bastards gonna take his new one!"
Blitz was the first to speak up. "The runner's not for sale so beat it."
"Well if it's not for sale how about you give it to me instead of the shoes we're here to collect?" Was the leader's counteroffer.
"That sounds like a pretty sweet deal to me." The other minion agreed while the shorter one snickered once more.
"No it isn't!" Ruby yelled. "That's a horrible deal, especially since they don't own him new shoes in the first place!"
"Okay these guys are really starting to remind me of Cardin and his gang." Weiss voiced out. "Same ego's, same disrespect for others, same short-tempers…"
"Or would you prefer I go topside and tell Sector Security that you're hiding an illegal Duel-Runner down here?" The boss threatened.
"Dammit!" Yang shouted. "Threatening to go to the cops is a cowardly plan!"
"Not most of the time." Weiss argued. "In this particular case though…"
"So Yusei either gives them his Duel-Runner or they rat them out to Security." Blake summarized. "He's in a no-win situation. His only real option is to try and convince the guy to leave them alone."
"How's he gonna do that?" Ruby asked.
Yusei gave a proposal of his own. "Why don't we duel for it?"
Weiss knew this was inevitable but sighted anyway. "Guess we're gonna have to watch another card game. At least this time they're not gonna duel while driving over 200 kilometers an hour."
Yang was less happy about that. "Without motorcycles, this game becomes like 30% less awesome."
"Only 30?" Blake expected more.
"Well it's still gonna have monsters and fights in them." Yang told her. "Besides, nothing wrong with a good game from time to time."
"And by good game, she means totally crushing me." Ruby muttered with her arms crossed.
"Huh, duel me?" The boss asks in surprise. "You might as well just hand it over to me now. Specially if you duel like your buddies here fight."
His minions both laughed at that statement.
"Well how do these stakes sound? I win and that Runner's mine. You win and we leave you alone. So?" The boss asked as the minion with sunglasses put his boss his Duel-Disk on.
"Okay again, what guarantee does Yusei have that this guy will keep his word?" Weiss asked skeptically. "For all he knows, those bullies could still beat him and his friends up after he wins the duel and take that Duel-Runner by force."
Team RBY had to admit that Weiss made a good point, but the optimistic Ruby voiced her thoughts on the matter. "Maybe after Yusei beats him they'll realize that what they're doing is wrong and they'll leave Yusei and his friends be?"
Weiss sighted at Ruby's naiveté. "Ruby, I know you like to see the best in people but even you must admit that beating bad guys in a game is not going to turn them into good guys."
Ruby frowned sadly at Weiss' statement, missing the small smirk Saixus had.
Yang meanwhile was focused on something else. "Where did that Duel-Disk come from? That guy did not have that on him when they arrived."
And Saixus' smirk disappeared and was replaced with a frown. That was like what, the third time logic took a hike in this episode.
"Don't duel him Yusei." Blitz advised.
Nervin agreed. "He's just a bully."
Yusei started switching his Duel-Runner deck for another one. "And bullies never learn, unless you stand up to them."
"Yusei's right." Blake admitted. "If you don't stand up to your bullies, chances are they're just gonna continue."
Yang nodded at that remembering how Cardin only stopped bullying Jaune because he stood up for himself, then smirked as she remembered how Cardin and his cronies ran away from him in fear. "You wanna know what I think is going to happen? Yusei's is gonna beat this guy so hard that he and his minions will run away crying."
Weiss thought over that possibility and could see it happen. "That is a pretty likely scenario. Especially if Yusei uses a scary monster to finish him off."
Blake nodded her head in silence as this did seem to be the likeliest way to solve their current predicament.
While Ruby wouldn't deny that that would be satisfying to see, she still had hope the bullies could have a change of heart.
Blitz voiced his worries. "But what if you lose to him Yus?"
Yusei removed his Duel-Disk from his Runner as the AI spoke out. "DISENGAGING DUEL-DISK."
Yus put his Duel-Disk on and said "We'll be fine Blitz."
"Huh, so that's where's Duel-Disk was." Weiss noted.
The boss gave the Runner a once-over and said "Huh, I'll think I'll change the color."
"Don't do it Yus, please!" Tank practically begged. "This Runner is the key to our… our-"
"Future." Yusei finished. "That's why I have to do this."
"I must admit, Yusei's got a pretty good poker-face." Blake granted. "He's about to put his whole future on the line and he doesn't even sweat?"
Yang agreed with Blake's statement but added "Well his opponent doesn't look very threatening. I know I wouldn't be worried about facing this… uhm, what's this guy called again?"
"I don't think they've introduced themselves yet." Ruby said.
"And they won't if I'm remembering correctly." Saixus said before taking out his phone and doing a quick search. "Okay so in this universe the boss is called Lenny, the guy with sunglasses Lug and the snickering-guy is called Larry."
"…Wow those are boring names." Yang stated and the rest of the girls agreed. "Though it is kinda funny they all have a name that starts with an L."
"Hold on. If their names are never mentioned in this show then how can you possibly know what they are?" Weiss asked.
"Their names may not get mentioned in the show, but they are mentioned in the games they appear in."
"There are games about this world too?!" Ruby asked in surprise.
"Oh yeah, plenty even." Saixus continued. "We also have the card game itself, but unfortunately without the realistic holograms or Duel-Runners."
"Well your future is coming with me, so you better start making new plans for tomorrow." Lenny said with a confident smirk as he started heading deeper into to tunnel with his minions following him.
A little while later, Lenny and Yusei stand ready to duel with Yusei's friends and Lenny's minions as the audience. Both of them looked at each other and said "Let's duel!"
Yusei allowed Lenny to go first. "You're move."
"I can't wait to get my hands on that Runner." Lenny proclaimed as he drew his first card. "Here goes. I summon Chainsaw Insect in attack-mode!"
A giant ant-like bug appeared on the battle-field with chainsaws for teeth. Its attack-points read 2400.
"WHAT THE HECK IS THAT THING?!" Weiss shouted in horror at the massive bug that had just appeared.
"A giant ant with chainsaws for teeth…" Yang summarized. "That Pegasus fellow sure has some crazy imagination."
"It looks kinda cool though." Ruby defended thinking the chainsaw bug was pretty creative.
Blake was surprised by something else. "This monster required no sacrifices yet it has 2400 attack-points?"
"There are multiple monsters out there that can be summoned without a sacrifice and still have pretty high attack-points." Saixus informed them. "However, most of those monsters have negative-effects to balance things out. In Chainsaw Insect's case, after it has successfully attacked or got attacked himself, the opponent gets to draw an extra card."
"Interesting." Blake stated as she crossed her legs. "High attack-strength in exchange for giving your opponent extra resources."
Yusei's friends were taking back by the giant ant.
"I've seen big bugs down here but nothing THAT big." Tank stated.
Nervin agreed. "It is quite the arthropod, isn't it?"
"What's an arthropod?" Ruby asked.
"It basically means animals that have an exoskeleton, a segmented body and-" Saixus stopped his Wikipedia-dump when he noticed Ruby and Yang still looked confused. "(Sigh) It's pretty much a more technical term for certain insects."
"Yes it is!" Lenny agreed before playing his next card. "And next I'm playing the spell Retribution Of The Ant Lion!" The continues-spell appeared in front of him before turning into a giant hole. "I always knew that there were bugs down here in these tunnels, but you gotta trust me when I say that you guys haven't seen anything yet!"
Weiss did not like what Lenny just said. "Don't tell me he has even more bugs in his deck…"
"That would explain this episode's title." Yang said which caused Weiss to start mentally preparing herself.
Ruby was wondering something else. "I wonder what that spell of his does."
As if she heard Ruby, the AI spoke up again to explain the spell Lenny just played. "Retribution Of The Ant Lion is a spell card that deals 800 points of damage to the controller when his monster is destroyed."
"Oh!" Ruby was surprised at the show answering her question. "Thank you misses AI!"
"So that spell will deal 800 points of damage to Yus every time one of his monsters kicks the bucket?" Yang summarized with a frown. "That doesn't sound very fair. How long will that spell be active?"
Saixus answered. "Well it's a continuous spell-card without a time-limit so unless Yusei destroys it with one of his cards, it's gonna remain active for the entire duel."
Blake did some quick mental-math. "So if Yusei loses a minimum of 5 monsters, that spell-card could end up costing him all of his life-points. A card like that must have some kind of drawback..."
"Uh-oh, Yus don't like bugs!" Tank remembered.
"He doesn't?" Yang asked confused before giggling a little. "Doesn't he go through the trash on a daily basis? You'd think someone like that wouldn't mind getting a few bugs on him."
"While I can't disagree with Yusei not liking bugs," Weiss said as she shuttered a bit. "I must agree that his fear seems a little out of place."
Nervin held his glasses up and said "Yeah ever since that roach nested in his ear he freezes up if you just say the word insect."
To Weiss' credit it wasn't just her, but all the girls that shivered.
"Ew!" Ruby shouted. "That's really, really gross!"
"I think I'm gonna be sick." Weiss stated as she started to look green while the others shared the sentiment.
Yang tried to calm her shivers but found herself unable to. "I can't even stand having a bug in my hair, never mind my ears!"
"This does explain why he's no fan of bugs." Blake said as she shook uncomfortably. She had accidentally imagined getting a roach in one of her cat-ears and tried focusing on the show to get rid of those thoughts. "But that must not have made his scavenging-hunts any easier. Imagine finally finding that one thing you're looking for but then you see a massive spider sitting on it."
"I know I would always arm myself with bug-spray if what happpened to Yusei ever happened to me." Ruby stated and Weiss nodded in agreement.
"I sure hope this doesn't throw him off his game." Nervin said worryingly.
"Come on Yus!" Blitz cheered. "You can do this!"
Yusei didn't seem scared but Lenny overheard his friends talking. "Scared of creepy crawlies huh?"
"Roll credits." Saixus suddenly spoke up.
"Well then this duel, will have you coming face to face with your worst fears!" Lenny said while smiling evilly.
"You got him shaking in his boots boss!" Lug stated and Larry laughed again.
"Not… really." Yang said as she figured Lug was just saying that to increase his boss' confidence. "Yusei barely reacted when that massive ant hit the field."
"Some people are better at handling their fears than others." Blake claimed. "Besides, even though this guy might fight with giant insects, at the end of the day they're still just holograms. As long as Yusei remembers that none of them are real, he should be able to handle them."
"Says the girl who hid behind the couch the second she saw a holographic dog?" Weiss asked with an amused smirk on her face.
Blake pouted and looked down at the ground. "You forgot to mention he was armed…"
"Not for long though." Yusei stated as he drew. "Cuz I'm summoning my Shield Warrior in defense-mode."
A blue summoning portal opened on the ground and out came a skinny warrior wielding a spear and shield. Once he was summoned, he kneeled down with his shield in front of him and turned blue. His defense-points were 1600.
Yang gave Yusei's monster a once over. "That dude's quite skinny for a warrior. Playing defensive was the right call though. But he better summon something stronger soon or that ant is gonna tear him apart."
Yusei's turn wasn't over yet. "And next I place one card face-down."
"Huh, you really are afraid. Looks like you forgot how to attack!" Lenny taunted.
"Why would he attack when you have the stronger monster?" Weiss questioned Lenny's logic. "It's a much smarter move to play defense and wait until he can play something more useful."
Blake agreed. "And since Yusei gets to draw an extra card as soon as that Chainsaw Insect attacks, it's better for him to hold out on any major moves for now."
"I bet he don't even finish the duel." Lug joined in his boss' taunting, while Larry continued snickering.
Lenny didn't dismiss that from happening. "Well there's only one way to find out." He drew his next card and made his move. "I summon Pinch Hopper in attack-mode!"
A giant green grasshopper appeared on the field with an attack-strength of one thousand.
Weiss shivered once more. "Why does he have so many insects in his deck?! Why would anyone wanna play this game with such freaky monsters?!"
"It's called a play-style." Saixus said. "Having an entire deck with only a single type of monster makes it easier to execute certain combos. Not to mention all the spell- and trap-card support made specifically for bugs. Think about it, what kind of deck would you rather duel with? A deck made out of a bunch of cards that only work separately, or a deck made out of cards that can all work together?"
"Well…" Weiss was taking back a bit. "Okay if you put it like that his strategy does make sense but surely he could have made a deck out of another type of monster like… I don't know, dragons or something?"
"While those kinds of decks do exist, it causes a lot of effort, not to mention money, to build one that flows well." Saixus informed the Schnee. "And despite what Lenny may want you to belief, I'm pretty sure this guy isn't loaded with cash. Buying cards cost money too so sometimes you have to play with the hand faith gives you. And if you end up creating an all insect-type deck, I'd say fate was pretty generous to you."
Weiss sighted in defeat while Blake noticed something about Saixus' explanation. "What do you mean by buy? I thought these cards were illegal in the Satellite so where could Lenny buy them?"
"You'll see."
"I see the fear in your eyes and it's only gonna get worse," Lenny claimed as he sends a card to the graveyard. "cuz by sending a card to my graveyard, I can play Insect Costume, and add a scarier insect to my hand!"
Lenny's minions cheered before Pinch Hopper got ripped open and a massive purple bug came out.
Weiss' skin turned green once more. "I swear, I'm gonna vomit by the end of this."
Lenny took his Pinch Hopper off his Duel-Disk and said "This next part, you should enjoy. Cuz now I have to destroy my Pinch Hopper."
Pinch Hopper exploded into many tiny blue-lights.
Tank was confused by this move. "But if he destroys a monster, then won't his life-points take a hit?"
His assumption proved to be correct as a beam of light came out of the hole in the ground and speeded towards Lenny, making him lose 800 life-points.
"Wait what?" Was the genuine expression on all the girls faces.
Lenny looked absolutely flabbergasted at what just happened. "What just happened? Did I- Did I just attack myself?!"
Yang was laughing out loud along with Ruby. "Hahaha, sure looks that way bud!"
Blake understood what happened. "I get it. The AI said that the controller of the monster that was destroyed takes 800 points of damage, which means his spell can end up damaging him as well."
"Well then he certainly made a dumb move." Weiss stated with her arms crossed. "If he was planning to destroy that Pinch Hopper from the start then it would have been smarter of him to hold out on using that spell until after he got rid of it. But even if he was smart enough to think of that, using that card at all seems like a major mistake. Why would anyone wanna use a card that can end up damaging themselves?"
"Says the girl who once attacked her own navel-fleet." Yang said with a smirk on her face which caused Weiss to pout.
Blitz face-palmed. "I think bug-boy forgot that he still had his Ant Lion spell on the field."
"Huh?" Lenny asked confused before realizing he was right. "Oh yeah that was all part of my plan!"
Blake sighted. "Does he honestly think any of them will buy that?"
"Yeah at least when Weiss attacked her own fleet, she admitted it was a mistake." Yang stated.
Weiss pout didn't vanish. "And yet I still wasn't allowed a do-over…"
Lenny explained his real strategy. "Cuz you see, by getting rid of my Pinch Hopper, I can do this." Pinch Hopper's card appeared in front of him. "I activate its special-ability and call out a creepier insect to the field to take its place!"
"Please tell me he's kidding…" Weiss practically begged.
Pinch Hopper's card shined brightly as Lenny played his new monster. "Like my powerful Metal Armored Bug!"
The purple glow started shaping into a gigantic bedbug coated in metal-armor.
Weiss let out a huge sigh of relief. "Thank Oum this bug isn't that gross. It's big sure, but he's not nearly as creepy as that ant or the grasshopper."
"He is pretty strong though." Yang said referring to the bug's 2800 attack-points. "Yus is gonna have to step it up if he wants to take down this new monster and that Chainsaw Insect."
"It would be a nightmare though if all bugs had armor like that." Ruby said as she especially feared one specific bug getting such a good defense. "Mosquitos are already difficult enough to hit, I don't want them wearing impenetrable armor too!"
Lenny started talking about himself. "When Sector Security dumped me here in the Satellite, I thought I'd spend the rest of my sifting through the trash, but your runner's gonna get me out of this dump and back to where I belong."
The girls from Remnant were pretty surprised by this new information.
"Wait, so Lenny's not from the Satellite?" Ruby asked out loud. "He's actually from the city?"
"That would explain where he bought those cards..." Blake said as a frown was starting to appear on her face.
"If that's true then what's he doing in the Satellite?" Yang wondered.
"Giving that he has a mark, he must have been apprehended by Sector Security at some point." Weiss theorized. "It sounds like once he got out, they decided to send him to the Satellite as some form of extra punishment."
"Geez that sounds rough." Yang had to admit. "What did Lenny do to get himself banished out of the city?"
"Don't know and don't care." Blake said but everyone could see she was angry. "What I care about is knowing why they would send city-criminals to the Satellite in the first place! Not only are they forcing them away from their friends and family, they also punish the Satelliters by turning city trouble-makers into their problems! This is both unfair to the people who get send there and the people who are already living in the Satellite!"
"Well I guess this means that Sector Security also upholds the law back in the city." Weiss figured. "Maybe Lenny got send there because of some administration-error?"
"It explains why he wants to steal that runner though." Ruby stated as she couldn't help but feel a little sorry for Lenny. Getting thrown out of the only home you've ever known and never seeing your friends or family again was not something she would wish on anyone. "I wonder how he's planning to escape with the runner though. Does he also know about that thrash-tunnel?"
"He probably overheard Yusei talk about it earlier." Weiss figured.
"I think it's feeding time for your bugs boss!" Lug shouted as Larry snickered some more while pointing his fingers in an L-shape.
Tank was impressed by the Metal Armored Bug. "Whoa!"
Blitz tried to lessen Yusei's fears. "Yus, try imagining that big bug as a soft cuddly kitten!"
Nervin was stumped by his friends suggestion. "Well Blitz, it's going to take quite the imagination considering kittens don't have claws like that."
"While Blitz' idea is stupid as heck," Yang admitted. "I think Nervin needs to find new glasses. Because last time I checked that armored bug didn't have any claws. It's got some horns on his head but his legs are just your typical bug-legs. Where does Nervin see any claws on that thing?"
"Hey Blitz' idea wasn't stupid!" Ruby defended as the other girls and Saixus looked at her. "I tried the same thing with Blake, only I told her to imagine Zwei as a cute plushy."
Weiss turned to Blake to ask her if that actually worked only to see Blake retract her legs as soon as Zwei walked by while hissing at the corgi. "...Guess Blake also has trouble with plushies."
Lenny overheard the audience again. "Well his imagination must be good if he thinks he'll win." He then took two insects out of his graveyard and banished them. "And after this next move, your pal's gonna wish he never challenged me. I special-summon Doom Dozer!"
A massive red- and black-colored centipede with 2800 attack-points appeared on the field and let out a powerful roar, showing off his multiple sharp-teeth in the process.
Weiss actually shrieked this time before yelling at the television. "STOP SUMMONING SUCH CREEPY MONSTERS! THAT THING IS MORE TERRIFYING THEN THE CENTINELS WE HAVE BACK IN ATLAS!"
"That monster is rather… repulsive." Blake admitted before turning to Saixus. "I guess that monster has some effect that allowed him to instantly summon it."
"Correct." Saixus answered. "Doom Dozer cannot be normal-summoned. He can only be special-summoned by taking two insect-type monsters out of your graveyard and removing them from play. It's because of cards like this that making a deck based on a single type of monster tends to be really beneficial. Imagine how much more difficult it would be to summon this thing if you only have two other insects in your entire deck."
Blake nodded but wanted Saixus to clarify something else. "I see, and what exactly is special-summoning and how is it different from a regular summon?"
Saixus started explaining again. "Normally each duelist can only summon one monster each turn. That summon is called a normal-summon. A special-summon is what happens if you summon another monster to the field using either a spell, trap or its own effect. Synchro-summons count as special-summons, and so do fusion-summons."
"You still haven't explained to us what fusion-summons are!" Yang reminded him.
"I'll explain in the fourth episode." Saixus assured her.
"I bet your world's spinning round and round right now, isn't it? And it's only gonna get more out of control." Lenny taunted as he rolled with his arm for emphasis. "Chainsaw Insect, it's time to attack!"
Chainsaw Insect rushed toward Shield Warrior while it's chainsaw-teeth were spinning.
"Not so fast!" Yusei exclaimed. "I play my face-down, Scrap-Iron Scarecrow!"
A scarecrow made out of iron-scrap appeared on the field and took the hit for Shield-Warrior, surprising Lenny in the process.
"And thanks to my trap-card, your insect's attack is repelled and my warrior's safe. Unfortunately I'm only allowed to use this trap-card once per round." Yusei explained before his Scrap-Iron Scarecrow card turned itself face-down again.
"Why use that trap to stop the weakest of those insects from attacking?" Weiss questioned. "Not only that but I'm guessing since he stopped Chainsaw Insect's attack he doesn't get to draw an extra card anymore, does he?"
"No he does not." Saixus said as he too had to admit Yusei would have been better of letting Chainsaw Insect's attack get through and prevent a stronger insect from attacking. "Oh well, everybody makes mistakes from time to time."
"Ha!" Lenny was happy to hear that. "Since your bug-trap is all used up let's see how you save yourself this time. Metal Armored Bug attack! Take out his Shield Warrior!"
The giant bug crawled at a pretty impressive speed towards Shield Warrior and tackled him into yellow triangles.
Ruby had a frown on her face. "If there's one thing about this show I don't like, it's when Yusei's monsters end up getting destroyed."
None of the girls argued with Ruby since they all knew how Ruby gets when she loses board-game pieces.
All of Yusei's friends were awe-struck by this move but Yusei did not look impressed. "So are you finished?"
Yang smiled at Yusei's question and agreed with him. "Lenny's turn has been going on for a while now. When's Yusei finally gonna get a turn?"
"Once Lenny finished his." Saixus answered.
The hole in the ground started spinning and generating energy as Lenny taunted Yusei some more. "Oh so now you're a tough-guy? Well my spell Retribution Of The Ant Lion's gonna soften you right up!"
A yellow-beam shot out of the hole and made its way to Yusei this time. Yusei grunted as the light hit him, costing him to lose 800 life-points. Yusei continued to grunt even after the beam had vanished.
This confused Blake. "Okay is he getting shocked by the hologram or something because right now he looks like he's actually hurt."
"His eyes probably hurt from all that light that rushed over him." Yang guessed as she finished her soda and put the empty can on the floor.
Lenny made his final move. "And now Doom Dozer's gonna shock you into submission. Doom Dozer, attack!"
Purple-energy started gathering in Doom Dozer's mouth which he quickly shot at the Satellite, dropping his life-points down to a measly 400.
"Yusei!" Rally shouted in worry as the others were shaking in their boots
"Oh no. Yus must be too scared to fight back." Blitz assumed.
"What the heck is he talking about?" Yang asked while frowning at Blitz. "Sure Yusei took a big hit just now but so far he hasn't looked like he's afraid one bit."
"That Blitz is just overreacting." Weiss stated. "I get that he's worried but he should stop being so paranoid."
"Says the girl who screamed when the giant Centinal rip-off showed up." Yang said with a smirk as Weiss pouted again. She was secretly praying on the inside though that Lenny wouldn't get the chance to summon another bug to the field.
"Them bugs are gonna squash him." Lug figured as Larry snickered some more.
"Can somebody please tap his mouth shut?" Weiss asked with her hands on her face. Larry's laughter was just as repulsive as those insects.
'If I'm gonna stop those insects, I gotta trust in the power of my cards.' Yusei thought as he recovered from Doom Dozer's attack.
"Come on!" Lenny shouted. "Are you ever gonna attack?"
"Maybe he will if you allow him to take his frigging turn already!" Yang shouted. If there was one thing about games that she really hated, it's when her opponents take so long to finish their Oum-dammed turns!
Rally and the rest looked worried at Yusei but the duelist had not thrown in the towel yet. "How's this for an answer." He drew his next card and his second turn finally began. "I summon out Speed Warrior!"
Speed Warrior appeared on the field ready for action.
"Yay! Speed Warrior's back!" Ruby cheered and Blake nodded in approval.
Yusei then showed a spell-card to his opponent. "And with it I'll play the spell Double Summon-"
"I'll give a free cookie to whichever one of you girls can guess what that card does." Saixus promised.
Ruby didn't was a single second. "Oh, does it let him summon another monster to the field?"
"To be technical it lets him normal-summon a second time this turn but that was good enough for me." Saixus said as he snapped his fingers and a single chocolate-chip cookie appeared in Ruby's hand.
"I'm a genius." Ruby stated before she started devouring the cookie.
"Ruby, even a preschooler can guess what a card called Double Summon would do." Weiss said with her eyes closed.
"-which means your bugs are about to find themselves in double the trouble, cuz now I can summon out another monster to the field." Yusei explained before he took a jab at the bully. "But ganging up is something you bullies know all about now isn't it?"
Yang agreed. "Yeah bullies act all tough and strong when they're ganging up on a single person, but once they notice they're outnumbered they tend to run the other way."
"They also run when said single person starts beating them all up one by one." Ruby stated, remembering the time she beat up Torchwick flunkies in a dust-shop and the criminal decided to run away instead of facing her.
"That runner is staying put." Yusei said as a matter of fact before summoning Junk Synchron to the field. "And Junk Synchron's gonna help make sure of it."
The girls knew exactly what was gonna happen next. "Seems like Junk Warrior's about to make a second appearance."
"Indeed Blake." Weiss nodded. "Let's hope he'll squash those insects as quickly as he did Trudge's dragons."
Yang rubbed her head and said "It's kinda funny how he has to go from fighting dragons to playing exterminator."
All of Yusei's friends started cheering.
"Let's go Yusei!" Rally cheered with a fist in the air.
Junk Warrior pulled his pull-cord as Yusei got ready to syncho-summon. "Now with Junk Synchron and Speed Warrior finally on my field, I can synchro-summon Junk Warrior!"
Junk Synchron turned himself into 3 syncho-rings that soon flew to the patiently waiting Speed Warrior. Once the rings surrounded him, a flash of green-light appeared.
"Junk Warrior, let's rev it up!" Yusei shouted as Junk Warrior flew in on the scene, ready to fight.
"I was kinda hoping he would summon a new monster." Ruby admitted. "But Junk Warrior's good too."
"I'm guessing 'let's rev it up' is Yusei's catchphrase." Blake stated remembering Yusei said the same thing last episode.
Weiss sighted and admitted "Well at least it's not that bad a catchphrase."
"You kidding?" Yang asked in disbelief. "His catchphrase's awesome! Now I need to think of one for myself. How does 'You just got Yanged' sound?"
RWB let out an annoyed grunt and even Saixus thought Yang's catchphrase could use some work.
"Oh no." Lenny said in shock. "With that kind of power my insects don't stand a chance!"
Weiss was bewildered by Lenny's sudden statement. "Why is he suddenly so worried? Junk Warrior may have 2300 attack-points but the weakest insect Lenny has on the field still has a 100 points more. He has no reason to be scared of Junk Warrior yet."
"Yet?" Yang questioned.
"I doubt Yusei would have summoned him if he didn't have a strategy in mind." Weiss answered. "He came up with a pretty clever one last-time so he probably has a new one already figured out."
Yang figured that Weiss was right and decided to try and answer her question. "Maybe the guy knows that synchro-monsters are noting to scoff at? Either that or he already knows what Yusei's up to."
"Don't worry boss he's still afraid! Just send some more of your bugs his way." Lug said to try calm his boss down while Larry snickered in support.
"Okay first of all, don't summon more insects." Weiss just about ordered. "Second of, why do they keep saying Yusei's afraid! He hasn't done or said anything that would make one think he's scared."
Blake agreed with Weiss. "For a guy who supposedly has entomophobia, he's so far been pretty fearless. Again though, he knows that these are just holograms and not real insects. That could explain why he's been so calm so far."
"That sunglasses-guy is likely just saying that to calm his boss' nerves." Yang said as she could not remember the minion's name. "Because he sure looks worried right now."
Lenny's worries proved to be well-founded once Yusei played his next card. "I'm not afraid of anything when my Fighting Spirit equip-spell card is in play. See for each monster that you have on the field, my Junk Warrior gains 300 attack-points!"
"I knew Yus could do it!" Tank claimed as he and others cheered. "Now it's time to exterminate them insects!"
"And save your runner!" Rally yelled.
Junk Warrior looked down at his now shining fist as his attack-points increased to 3200.
"Woohoo!" Ruby cheered. "Junk Warrior is now strong enough to defeat any of Lenny's insects."
"True but no matter which insect Yusei attacks, Lenny will still have enough life-points to continue the game." Blake pointed out.
Lenny realized he was now in some serious trouble. "Oh no. With all those attack-points my bugs are gonna be stumped by that thing!"
"He can't take them all out boss!" Lug stated confidently but Larry started snickering nervously.
Yusei played his next card. "And I don't have to once I play Domino Effect!"
The AI took over. "With the spell-card Domino Effect for every card on your field that you send to the graveyard, one of your opponent's monsters is destroyed."
Yang couldn't hold in her snicker. "Whelp, looks like Lenny just got jinxed big time."
"Hang on…" Weiss was once again confused. "Yusei doesn't have any monster to send to the graveyard other than his Junk Warrior, so one of Lenny's insects would still remain on the field."
"The AI said cards Weiss." Ruby reminded her. "That means he can take that Scrap-Iron Scarecrow trap he still has on the field, along with the spell Junk Warrior has and send them to the graveyard to get rid of all of Lenny's bugs."
Weiss understood Ruby's logic but Saixus had done a quick search of Domino Effect on his phone. As it turns out, you can only send monsters you have on the field to the graveyard to activate Domino Effect's… effect.
Saixus shook his head and decided to keep quiet again.
Lenny started whining "Ah men! But I was so far ahead!"
Ruby started feeling bad for Lenny. "Nothing worse than losing at the moment you think you have the lead."
"Junk Warrior. Send his Chainsaw Insect to the scrap-heap!" Yusei commanded and Junk Warrior wasted no time activating his jet-pack. He speeded toward his target like a rocket, right-fist forward to strike. His fist appeared huge again and struck against Chainsaw Insect, causing Lenny's life-points to drop to 2400.
Yang really wanted that jet-pack.
Lenny grunted but Yusei wasn't finished yet. "And now, by sending two cards to my graveyard Domino Effect activates." Yusei then sends his Scrap-Iron Scarecrow card as well as his Fighting Spirit equip-spell to the graveyard. "Your bugs are about to fall."
Yusei's statement turned out to be correct as Chainsaw Insect was struggling to find his balance. He eventually fell on Doom Dozer, who fell on Metal Armored Bug. Metal Armored Bug couldn't handle all the weight and fell on the ground. All three insects then exploded into triangles.
"And good riddance." Weiss stated happy all the insects were finally gone.
Yang was laughing at the insects comical destruction. "Guess we know why that card's called Domino Effect. I wonder how much longer this duel will last tough, because while Lenny did just lose all of his insects, he still has plenty of life-points."
"Actually." Blake recalled a certain card Lenny still had on the field. "I think this duel's about to end."
Lenny groaned at the destruction of his insects while his two minions looked in shock at what had just occurred.
Yusei stared at Lenny with an intense glare and said "You and your buddies came down here looking to intimidate us, threaten us and push us around. Well next time you might wanna think twice before messing with me and my pals, cuz we're gonna stand by each other through thick and thin."
Rally agreed. "Yeah! You tell that Domino City cast-off that he better watch his step the next time he comes down here, cuz we aren't gonna stand for any more of his bullying tactics!"
"Damn." Yang said genially impressed. "That Rally kid's got some fire in him."
Ruby agreed with Yusei and Rally. "No bully is a match for the power of friendship!"
Weiss sighted at the corny line before saying "I don't think it's a good idea to antagonize the guy who can still go to the cops and tell them where Yusei and his friends are hiding."
"You fought a good duel." Yusei granted. "But my runner's staying put just like you. See with your Retribution Ant Lion spell card still in play-"
"Gah!" Lenny realized he had officially lost.
Yusei continued. "-you take damage for each monster my Domino Effect took down."
"GAAAAAAAAARH!" Lenny screamed as a massive beam of electrified-light rushed over him, causing his life-points to hit zero.
Yang was laughing the hardest she had this entire episode. "He-He just lost becau- because of his own… HAHAHAHAHAHAHA!"
"Talk about irony…" Ruby stated before joining her sister in laughing.
Yusei's friends started cheering, especially Tank who was jumping from joy. "Yusei won! He won!"
The Ant Lion hole in the ground vanished and Lenny was frozen in disbelief. "Man, I was so close to winning that runner..." He then dropped on his knees.
Weiss shook her head in disappointment. "As much as I hate to admit it, Lenny's strategy for the most part was pretty effective. He managed to summon three powerful creatures and quickly took control of the duel. His only real mistake was playing that Ant Lion card."
Blake nodded in agreement. "Yusei only lost 800 life-points because of that card while Lenny lost 3200. His own card caused him to lose this match. I have a feeling he won't use that card in his next duel."
Yang had calmed down and said "Weiss, you're little navel-fleet incident is forgiven. It was definitely a bad move but at least you didn't lose because of it."
Weiss was slightly happy to hear that and was 90% Lenny was gonna tear-up his Retribution Of The Ant Lion spell-card the first chance he got.
"You had me on the ropes there for a while and I wasn't sure how I was gonna get through the duel." Yusei admitted as he started to approach Lenny. "But an old friend once told me that when your back's against the wall and it feels like there's no way out, as long as you trust in the power of your deck you can find a way out of any situation."
Yusei then thought back to the moment Jack gave him that advice. "Yusei you got to learn to rely on your entire deck. Don't you see that you could have beaten me today if you only believed in the strength of every card you duel with. Believe and you will feel their power."
Ruby was surprised by the advice Jack had given Yusei. "He's… he's right. If you only try to rely on a single card to win then you're basically setting yourself up for failure. You have to try and rely on every card in your deck to win. It's the same for Renmant : The Game and working together in a huntsmen-team!"
"I think he's taking the entire 'believe in your cards' thing a little too far." Weiss exclaimed before a small smile settled on her face. "But it was nice of Jack to give Yusei some advice after he won. Maybe he's not so bad as we first thought."
While Yang had to agree that Jack was being a good sport there, she remained skeptical. "He still stole Yusei's runner, so I'm unconvinced."
"But those two were obviously friends at some point." Ruby pointed out. "I don't know what happened to Jack but it's obvious Yusei still sees him as a comrade. He even just called Jack a friend."
"An old friend." Blake corrected. "By that he could mean they're not friends anymore. Besides…" Blake was reminded of a certain bull-faunas. "…people can change Ruby."
Ruby frowned at that but couldn't help but wonder what had happened between the two former dueling-buddies.
"That day a very valuable lesson was taught to me." Yusei stated with his right-arm on his chest. "A lesson I'll never forget. And it's the belief I have in the power of my cards that gave me the strength to win this duel."
Yusei's words seemed to have an effect on Lenny as a smile appeared on his face. "Heh, I thought that runner was mine." He then stood-up and looked Yusei straight in the eyes. "Yusei, maybe me and you can be friends someday. Next time we duel top-side."
All the girls blinked at Lenny's sudden 180 in personality. "Wait, what just happened?"
"I think he suddenly became a nice-guy." Blake answered Weiss.
"YES!" Ruby cheered. "Called it! I knew that would happen! Now they don't need to worry about Lenny and his friends going to the police!"
"I can't believe he had a change of personality just because he lost a game!" Weiss stated. "Most individuals would get upset after losing a game. Not decide to become better people!"
"Well… good for him I guess." Yang said but agreed with Weiss. If all it took for bullies to become nice was for them to suffer a humiliating defeat, Cardin and his cronies would have turned into saints a long time ago.
Yusei smiled at Lenny's change of heart. "But no bugs okay?"
Yang snickered at Yusei admitting his fear. "I don't think he's gonna redo his entire deck simply because you asked."
The scene then switches back to New Domino City where Jack was training with this Duel-Runner.
"Urgh!" Now Yang was irritated. "Couldn't they have ended the episode back there? I don't like seeing this guy hug the screen."
Weiss turned to Yang. "Yang, if you could appear on television, you would try to hug all the spotlight too."
"…That's not my point!"
Goodwin called Jack through his radio. "Jack."
Jack heard Goodwin and stopped his ride. He took off his helmet and looked at the night-sky.
"Bravo Jack." Goodwin congratulated. "You dueled well tonight."
Jack continued to look at the sky. "...And Yusei? Are things going according to plan?"
"Yes." Goodwin confirmed. "Sector Security has informed me that we have nothing to worry about."
Yang grinded her teeth at the duo targeting Yusei while Weiss pinched her nose. "Given they're sending that incompetent officer Trudge after him again, they might want to start worrying."
"Especially since Yusei's planning to break into the city tonight!" Ruby reminded them.
"Good." Yang stated. "The faster Yusei gets payback against Jack, the better."
The scene switches one more time to Yusei as he too stares at the night-sky.
'Look out Jack. I'm coming to take back what's mine.' He thought before the screen fates to black.
"And that was episode two." Saixus said before focusing on the girls. "Any comments?"
Weiss went first. "Well for one thing I'm happy I was able to keep my popcorn down. Also, I'm starting to rather like Yusei. The way he once again out thought his opponent and used his own strategy against them was nothing short of brilliant. …Then again it wasn't that difficult to turn that Ant Lion spell against Lenny."
"I was surprised to hear that Yusei's afraid of bugs." Yang said. "Giving where he lives and everything, him being afraid of bugs seems pretty out of character."
"I hope for both his sake and mine that he won't run into another insect-user any time soon." Weiss added and Saixus decided not to mention Bolt Tanner or Roman Goodwin.
Ruby voiced her thoughts. "I liked that Junk Warrior got to make a return but I really hope we get to see some of Yusei's other monsters next time. Who knows what other kind of monsters Yusei has in his deck."
"I'm glad he stood up for himself when those bullies came." Blake said with a satisfied smirk. "People like that need to see that not everyone will cave in to their threats… though I will admit Lenny's change of heart came a little out of nowhere."
"Hey it's better than him staying a bully forever." Ruby added. "So far though I'm loving this show! I can't wait to see Yusei and Jack face each other."
"Well you won't have to wait long for that." Saixus assured her. "But for now, who's ready for the third episode?"
Ruby and Yang raised their hands immediately while Blake and Weiss shrugged before also raising theirs.
"Good, but first things first." Saixus snapped his fingers and a flash of light temporary blinded the members of team RWBY.
"Hey! Warn us before you do… that." Weiss yelled angrily but stopped once she and the rest of team RWBY saw another couch had appeared on their left. What really surprised them though were the four people occupying said couch.
Saixus made a new cola-bottle appear in his hand and said "You know what they say, the more the merrier."
And that was the second episode of RWBY Reacts to Yu-Gi-Oh 5d's. I always liked this episode despite the number of times logic goes on vacation. My favorite parts to write were the freak-outs, especially the junkfood related one.
So yeah I'm bringing in four more characters of RWBY to join the reaction-fic. You can probably guess who they're going to be but building up some expense never hurt anyone.
Next time we get Yusei's rematch with Trudge.
This is MasterSaixus, signing off.
