Chapter 2

Nobody knew where Percy was. One day, he had been in Camp Half-Blood and the next day he had disappeared. Even his Pegasus was missing.

Everyone thought he had gone to visit his parents but, to their surprise, they did not see him. Annabeth had tried to look for her best friend, but guilt was shredding her heart. She feared that maybe Percy had seen her with Joey.

Nobody knew about Annabeth and Joey and she wanted to keep it that way. Joey had just been there when she had been waiting for Percy. Initially, she had tried to play it off and just talked casually but then he dug deeper, trying to get to know her and eventually, she relented. She told him about everything that had happened from when she could remember. Soon, she found herself next to Joey, her head on his shoulder, sobbing from the dark memories that she had.

Next day, she had found herself in her cabin and her half-siblings informed her that she had drifted off to sleep in exhaustion and Joey had brought her to the cabin. Followed by that, they notified her of Percy's disappearance. His name had brought her out of thoughts as she realised that she was supposed to meet Percy when Joey had met her.

After that, everything was a blur. Her gut felt too tight from guilt that she had been intimate with someone who wasn't Percy. She was loyal and smart and what she had done was a foolish move.

"Come on Percy," she muttered as she stood before a fountain, waiting for Iris or Fleecy to connect her to her boyfriend.

After a few seconds, Iris replied, "Sorry but Perseus Jackson is unavailable. Please try again later," and the mist dissolvedin mid-air.

*Line Break*

Artemis and her hunters had been hunting the previous day when something had fallen down near their camp. Artemis looked up and saw a dark Pegasus fading into distance and wondered why a Pegasus would need to litter in the wild.

She grabbed a bow and sneakily climbed a tree and jumped from the branch to another branch and rushed to the place where she could assume the object still was. When she reached the nearby location, she nearly tripped on something on the branch before pushing her arm out and grabbing the branch.

She struggled to pull herself up before the branch cracked under her weight and she fell to the ground and the object collided with her head and she let out an uncharacteristic "ouch". She shook her head and grabbed the pen and a ring attached to it.

As if on cue, her godly senses overflowed from her body as midnight rolled in. She sighed as she felt power seep inside her till she sensed the power of sea within her palms. She opened it and saw an engraving on the pen that read, 'Anaklusmos'.

She opened the pen, expecting a sword to reveal itself but nothing happened and, there in its glory, stood a ballpoint pen. However, she couldn't deny her senses revealing that it did contain Poseidon's power within it.

So, she clutched it tightly within her palms and put it in her pocket as she looked at the spot in sky where she had noticed the Pegasus disappear. Walking back, she picked up the ring and, after inspecting it for a second, put it along with the pen.

An Olympian meeting was in order. It wasn't every day that a Pegasus casually dropped a famous and powerful weapon in the middle of a forest along with a ring. And considering how the pen wasn't disappearing meant that its owner, Perseus, had either let it go willingly or he was dead or maybe he didn't have any pockets. The last option, while ridiculous, wasn't impossible, Artemis argued.

She rushed to her lieutenant, Thalia Grace's, her half-sister and the daughter of Zeus, tent and ordered, "Thalia, set up camp here. I have to go to Olympus for an urgent matter. Ensure that you do not move and kill any monster that comes near."

Thalia nodded in reply and gave a small bow. Artemis flashed out to Olympus and sent a message to all the Olympians, the effort putting a great strain on Artemis's mind before she took her place on her throne. The throne glowed slightly, relieving Artemis as she felt power course through her and watched as slowly the Olympians arrived, frustrated and furious for the summon.

The last to arrive was Zeus who came in a lightning storm over his throne and shot a bolt of lightning and said, "Council, who ordered this Olympian Meeting?"

Artemis raised her arm and Poseidon asked, "Why did you call this meeting Niece? If I remember correctly, you hate these meetings."

"I will agree on that with you Uncle, but I am afraid that the reason is much more dire that could not have been withheld for too long."

Zeus, annoyed that he did not have the spotlight, exclaimed, "What could be of so much importance?"

Every Olympian rolled their eyes at his subtle move to get their attention towards him. Hera gave a dry glare to everyone and whispered to Zeus, "Zeus, everyone wants to get out of here. Just let her speak."

The king of Olympians opened his mouth to retort on the disrespect, but she glared at him and he shut his mouth. King or not, it wouldn't do good for his pride if she shouted at him. He nodded to Artemis who started, "Today, while I was hunting a group of drakons remaining from Giant War, we decided to make a temporary camp. As we were resting, I sensed a powerful essence near me and noticed a Pegasus dropping something in the forest. As the goddess of forests and wildlife, I was infuriated and searched for the object. When I reached there, I noticed that it was a pen and a ring."

Artemis pulled the mentioned objects from her pockets and continued, "The pen sensed of the sea, Uncle's domain." She turned to him who nodded in affirmation that it was indeed a product with his power. Artemis flashed it to him, and he uncapped it. Surprisingly for Artemis, the pen extended to a leaf shaped bronze blade that seemed to glow in the bright light. Poseidon read the word inscribed on the hilt, his eyes widening in reply.

He looked to Artemis and asked, "Did the Pegasus have any one on it?" Artemis thoughts to the scene before replying, "I couldn't see anyone because the Pegasus flew off too fast. Its his, isn't it?"

Poseidon nodded in reply and asked, "Can I see the ring as well?" Artemis nodded and flashed it to him, the latter carefully inspecting it before he sighed and answered the frustrated Olympians, "This weapon and ring belongs to Perseus."

"You mean Perseus Jackson," Apollo asked.

"Do you know any other Perseus that is still alive?" Poseidon shot back sassily. Apollo's face flushed and Zeus himself had to admit that his son had asked a stupid question. He looked the gathered Olympians and ordered, "Keep a look out for Perseus. Since the oracle has not said any prophecies, it can be safe to assume that there is no danger as of yet."

Everyone nodded, including Poseidon and, pleased by everyone's acceptance, Zeus exclaimed, "Council Dismissed!"
