Chapter 2:

Severus gently takes his adopted daughter's hand as they walk onto the streets of Diagon Alley. He was waiting for this day for a long time and now that it's finally here, there's a slight glimpse of excitement in his dark eyes.

"Do you want to get your wand first, Zelenia?" Severus asked her, looking down at her.

"Yes, please, Daddy," Zelenia answered, looking up at him.

"Let's go then."

He leads her to where Ollivanders Wand Shop is located.

Along the way towards the shop, Zelenia has a familiar thought appear in her head. "Daddy," she speaks nervously to him, looking at the ground. "What house do you think I will be in?" she asked him.

Severus stops in his tracks so he can look down at her. His lack of an immediate response makes her lookup. "Why asked that question?" he asked.

"I am worried that I may not be in Slytherin like you because of my knowledge in Potions and other subjects that I have learned over the years, mainly due to your teachings. I might be in Ravenclaw," the little girl admits softly while looking back down at the ground.

"Zelenia," Severus sighs, placing his free hand on her shoulder. "If you weren't in Slytherin, I would want you in Ravenclaw anyways."

"Really?" she asked, a little surprised.

"Yes," he sounds serious. "I won't decline the Ravenclaw roots running into your veins because of your mother, but the Slytherin roots are also in your veins because of your father."

"But you're my Daddy," Zelenia smiles a little and places her other hand on his other arm. "I love you, Daddy," she adds in still smiling.

Severus smiles softly at that familiar phrase from her. "I love you too, Daughter," he says it back, pulling her into a hug.

She smiles more and hugs him back.

Zelenia's wand is a nine-inch black walnut with unicorn hair core, suits her perfectly according to her adopted father. Most of the equipment that she needs are very similar to what Severus had in his school years, by his request and also her request.

Once they arrive at Flourish and Blotts Bookseller, Severus seems to be helping out with her books by getting the advanced books as well.

"Daddy?" Zelenia asked him, a little confused. "What are you doing?"

"You already know everything about the subjects you are going to be learning in school," he answers her, holding the advanced books in his arms. "Uncle Albus should be able to get you in a higher year."

"Daddy," she sighs with a smile, "I really do appreciate that you want to further my knowledge, but I think I can handle the subjects on my own."

He didn't say anything, just looks down at the books.

"We can still get them so I can read them in advance and understand it beforehand," she smiles again, placing her hands on his arms.

Severus slightly smiles back while nodding his head.

"Severus? Severus Snape?" a woman's voice speaks up towards them.

The adopted father and adopted daughter turn their heads to see a rather beautiful woman in her late thirties/early forties, wearing such beautiful clothing in all black. She has dark brown/blond hair.

"Wow, she's beautiful," Zelenia thought to herself, surprised by her.

"Narcissa," Severus answers. "Are you here for your son?"

"Why, yes, he received his letter earlier in the summer holidays," Narcissa explains with a smile. Then she sees the little girl next to her friend. "Who's this?" she asked the shy girl.

"Introduce yourself, daughter," Severus says to her.

Zelenia looks up at him before turning to the woman. "My name is Zelenia Snape, madame," she introduces herself with a smile, courtesy towards her.

"She is Larkin's and Rayne's daughter," Severus explains to his friend.

"The Gastrell family," she's surprised to hear those names. "Our friends from Hogwarts."

"Yes, she is."

"It's very nice to meet you, Zelenia. I'm Narcissa Malfoy," she introduces herself as well.

"Likewise, madame," she smiles a little.

"Well, I wish I could stay more, but I am meeting up with Lucius and Draco," Mrs. Malfoy says and begins to leave. "Good day," she says, leaving them.

"Good day," Severus and Zelenia say at the same time.

"Lucius is her husband and Draco is their son," Severus explains to her.

She nods her head in understanding.

After getting ice cream from Florean Fortescue's Ice Cream Parlour, Severus surprises Zelenia by taking a trip towards the shop across from the parlour, Magical Menagerie.

"Really, Daddy?" she asked, surprised, noticing it's a magical creature stop.

"Of course, Zelenia," he replies. "You are old enough and matured for the responsibility of raising a pet."

"Thank you, Daddy!" she smiles, hugging him at our excitement. "Oh, gosh, sorry, Daddy," she apologizes, realizing what she did with her hands on his chest.

"It's alright, Zelenia," Severus tells her, holding her by elbows. "It's a normal reaction to something like this."

"Okay, Daddy," she smiles again, relieved to hear that.

The moment they enter the shop, loud noises from the magical creatures as cages surround them.

Severus keeps his hand on Zelenia's shoulder as she leads him into the crowds.

Her big emerald eyes are looking around looking for the perfect pet for her, but none seem to be right for her.

Then when she turns to her left, her eyes meet another pair of piercing emerald green eyes. The owner of the eyes is a small black kitten. Zelenia smiles a little and gently offers her pale fingers towards the kitten.

The kitten sniffs the fingers for a second before licking them with a small pink rough tongue. Zelenia's smiles grew more when a bond is made rather quickly.

Professor Snape sees the smile on his adopted daughter's face grows more. "Do you want this one?" Severus asked his adopted daughter.

"Yes, please, Daddy," she says, smiling up to him as she continues to pet the kitten's head.

"We'll take this one," he tells the owner of the shop.

The kitten enters into Zelenia's arms once the cage opens. He licks her cheek with his little rough tongue, making her giggle a little.

"What are you going to name him?" her adopted father asked as they left the shop.

"Hmm," she hums, thinking of a name. She thinks for a second before getting a name. "Moonstone," she answers, smiling and hugging the kitten.

Severus smirks a little, seeing her happy and is happy that she chose a potion ingredient for the creature. "Remember, Zelenia," Professor Snape speaks down to her in his usual tone. "He is your responsibility…., meaning you are going to take care of him, feed him, clean him, and everything."

"I understand, Daddy, and thank you so much," she says to her adopted father, still very happy.

"You're welcome, Daughter."

As soon as Severus and Zelenia arrive back at home with Moonstone in her arms, she immediately heads towards her room to set up everything for the newest addition of the Snape family.

Moonstone walks around the moon/starry night inspired bedroom. He really likes what he sees. He even tries to climb up on her bed.

Zelenia giggles a little at this before helping him up on the twin-sized bed.

"Zelenia?" Severus knocks on her bedroom door.

"Yes, Daddy?" she replies to him.

He opens the door and quickly notices Moonstone on her bed with her. "Moonstone seems to be….adapting well," he comments as the kitten curls up into a ball for a nap.

"Oh yes, very much so," Zelenia agrees, petting his little head.

"Dinner is about ready," he tells her.

"What's for dinner, Daddy," she asked him, looking up to him.

"Sandwiches."

"Yummy."
