She has her gun pointed at him.

"So what you gonna do? Shoot me?"

"No." She says. Putting down the weapon.

"I deserve it"

"yes, you do but i can't shoot you. I can't even yell at you because if I do, if i hurt you, you'll leave me again and I can't watch you walk away for another ten years."

"I'm sorry, I know that's not enough but I am. The last thing I ever wanted to do was hurt you." And she knew that, deep down she knew that but still. "You broke my heart." "I broke mine too."

"Why'd you stay away for so long then?"

"I had to, I didn't want to hurt you more than I already had. When I came back, I saw that you had built this life for yourself and I knew there wasn't room for me in it. You moved on Olivia and so I stayed away."

"I wish you hadn't"

"Even if it looked like I moved on...David, Brian, Tucker, they weren't you El. No one could ever replace you."

He moved forward as though to touch her and stopped. "I just wanted you to be happy. That's all I ever wanted, Liv."

"I was happy, but then you left. That was the last time I was truly happy."

"you know that isn't true olivia. look at your life, you're captain now. you have a kid who is happy and healthy. you are happy." he uses the pad of his thumb of to brush away a few stray tears that streaked down her face. "I just couldn't ruin that for you. I lost my...my son.."

She was taken aback by his last sentence. As hurt as she was, she still loved and cared for him and his kids deeply. "You what? El what happened?" She resisted the urge to put her hand on his shoulder

He knew this was too much at once, but he had to tell her, to explain. When he didn't respond, she continued, "Elliot? What do you mean you lost your son? Eli? Richard? Tell me what happened, are they ok?" His blue puddles met her brown, "I had just found out Eli wasn't my son."

"Elliot I..I don't know what to say."

"Guess I was easy to fool hunh?"

"I lost Calvin and you were there for me. I would have understood. I would have been there for you. You shouldn't have gone thru that alone. Fuck! Why are you so stubborn?"

He can tell he's losing her She's ready to walk away "Liv, I know it's not nearly enough but I am sorry"

"I know. Me too." She whispers

That's it, it's over. That's all he can think as he watches her stalk back forth like a caged animal.

She stops for a moment to look at him. To look into his eyes, neither of them could ever lie to the other. She sees it at first it startles her

she wanted to say something but her and his squad came in.

"Captain, Lieutenant. You both alright?" Elliot's detective asks. Neither of them speak

"Liv?" Fin said

"I- we're good." She said and went out.

"What happened?" Amanda asks "Nothin'. " Elliot said leaving the rest

he realizes now it'll never change.. she's still talking but he can't hear her.

it's too late

For better or worse his words flashed through his mind and he can't breathe. the room is spinning, his chest tightens

I'd give you a kidney

he collapses

She sees him fall before he hits the ground and reaches out to catch him. "Elliot!" She lowers their bodies to the ground and yells for Fin to call a bus. His head is in her arms and she can't help but stroke his cheek. He's aged and has facial hair now, but he still looks good

"Elliot! Somebody call a bus! Hurry!" She leans down and finds his pulse which is racing. "El, can you hear me?"

The next moments are a blur but once they're in the ER and she hears a doctor mention "kidney failure" and ask if anyone knows his blood type

"It's A" Olivia answered, feeling numb.

All I'm saying is if i die on the spot where I go down, you better make sure that this never happens to it.

Or I'm going to haunt you for the rest of your days.

"Elliot, don't you dare die on me, please." Olivia begged with tears in her eyes.

Not if i gave you mine first.
