DISCLAIMER: I DO NOT OWN OVERLORD NOR ANY OF ITS EXISTING CHARACTERS, LOCATIONS, CONTENTS AND OTHER RELATED ORIGINAL STUFFS IN ANY WAYS. ALL CREDITS GOES TO MARAYUMA-SAMA FOR CREATING A WONDERFUL SERIES.

For those who haven't read the light novel, I highly recommend you read it, it will dramatically change your life. I ain't kidding. Give it a try!

This fanfiction is inspired from the works of Ryan CZ Delta's "Nazarick's New NPC" and Hesitated's "Son of Ainz Ooal Gown". Hats off to both amazing writers. I recommend you to read them! It's definitely worth the try!

Please bear with my poor writing skills as I am still starting off quite recently. Also, English IS NOT my first language. This is my very first story to be published.

CHAPTER ONE

The room of the Supreme Overlord of Nazarick is nothing sort of an average common room for nobles, comparing it to even the grandest and richly adorned luxurious rooms those of the wealthiest in the Empire and Kingdom is nothing but an understatement. The grandeur of this room is such that even the collective efforts of all the veteran architects, designers, and engineers of their fields could not even hope to achieve, such is the extravagance exuding in this very room that it will not be wrong to call it a room reserved for a god. The room boasted its own spa, bathroom, dining room, bed room, study room, entertainment room and other lavish amenities that would make all who enter such luxurious room wonder how it even existed.

In front of a meter-long crystal mirror of the finest quality stood an entity, unmistakably a skeletal undead being adorned with a highly exquisite and luxurious academic purple robe etched with the finest of golds, holding a golden staff of prominent power. The staff was richly decorated with gems of different color, each exuding with unimaginable power held by a stretched mouth of a snake while constantly releasing an ominous aura of dread of twisted faces writhing from agony and despair that will give all onlookers both awed and terrified expressions.

Ainz was having second thoughts of whether he should actually proceed with this rather questionable plan of his or not, this plan originally came from when he visited his squire from the Holy Kingdom, Neia, not that he actually missed the girl of some sort. He just finds the girl very interesting and easy to get along with, despite himself not admitting that she is someone who somehow relieved his inescapable predicament of the constant reminder that he is now alone in this New World. Of course, there're his guardians who constantly reminds him that he is indeed not alone, and will always keep him company wherever he goes. But that's a different matter altogether. After all, he cannot erase the fact that his guild mates were his long time partners in crime way back in Yggrasil, it is not even wrong to say that they are his only source of happiness and escape from his boring real life. Unfortunately, they are now not present, atleast that's what he presumes to be the case since there's still a possibility that they might also be transported to this New World he was in.

Although it is not wrong to raise one's hopes up, the fact still remains that he is currently alone and sad at the same time, longing for someone to lift this burden off from him. These train of thoughts prompted him to let out a heavy sigh.

"Ainz-sama, is there something I can help you with?"

The humonculus maid, Decrement, sitting across the room couldn't help but notice the unbridled fatigue her master was currently showing off.

"Do you find my presence a nuisance? Please do tell me, I will end my life this ins-!"

Before she could even finish her sentence, Ainz decided to cut her off by raising his free hand making her gasp and lower her head in submission, afraid that her master was greatly displeased with her sudden outburst.

"You don't pose such unwarranted behavior towards me Decrement, I was merely lost in my own thoughts. Don't mind it." Ainz uttered in his long practiced regal voice befitting for an absolute ruler. Decrement's eyes sparkled with joy the moment Ainz's declared those words.

Umu, which reminds me, the NPCs behavior is another thing to be taken care of swiftly. It's becoming rather scary whenever they declare such complete devotion to him, so much that the penance of death sounded like a common rule for them whenever he shows displeasure or inagreement with his subjects. The guardians are much worse! Haaaah, come on guys, your creators would most certainly crucify me after they knew that one of their creations committed suicide just because of some random joke of his. I will have to remind them that they should actually value their lives more and not just throw their lives for me just like that. I mean it's actually reassuring that they render complete subservience to me. Still, I can't just let them have that mentality forever. It's disturbing at least for me.

"Decrement, all of you, my friends creations, are very much dear to me. If ever one of you, even of the lowest stations in this tomb, even the janitors, committed such act without my permission, this will not give me satisfaction, rather, it will cause me grief. No, you are to never say such words again in front me. I understand your devotion, but also value your lives as you are created by my beloved comrades, not just to be our servants but also like our children. Do not make me repeat these words ever again. Understand?" Ainz said with force in his voice.

Haaaaaah. I wish I won't have to repeat these lines over and over while I converse with them. It's rather unpleasant to hear those words over and over again, like an endless loop. Sigh.

"A-Ainz-samaaa!"

Decrement went on her knees and wept like a child while practically using both her hands to clear her face from the protruding tears that formed from her absolute shame. She thought she doesn't deserve such compassionate and merciful ruler. Truly, Ainz-sama is the most merciful and loving master we could ever have.

"D-don't cry now, Decrement. I was merely telling the truth." Ainz on the other hand franctically thought of the right words to console the humonculus maid.

"I will engrave your merciful words in my heart and soul forever, Ainz-sama!" The maid quickly stood up and bowed her head deeply while visibly shaking not from the despair she felt a while ago but from the overflowing joy she is currently pushing to hold back in.

"U-umu, then, order Demiurge and Albedo to be in the Throne Room within an hour's time."

"Understood, Ainz-sama!" Decrement said with renewed vigor like she wasn't in a crying mess a while ago.

After the humonculus maid went off to execute her orders, Ainz continued to rethink of the plans he was contemplating with just before his thoughts was cut off earlier.

The plan of creating another NPC. But this time, it will not be an NPC who solely devoted their entire existence in serving him. This time will be different. He will need this new being to be like his right hand. A being which will accompany him and someone he can freely talk to with his personal problems as well.

Someone like an adviser. The likes of which that questions his intentions and inner thoughts and gives comments so he may know when he commits a mistake and gives advice whether his plans are actually desirable and satisfactory, not like his guardians who only thinks of him as an almighty being barred from all sorts of errors, which is clearly not the case.

Most importantly, a friend. He needs someone he can rely on whenever loneliness comes visit him. After all, this was the main reason on why this plan was devised.

A friend huh. Sigh. Should I actually go with this plan? Would it be not a waste of resource? Haaaaah. I'll have to use one of my greatest prized treasures then. Will it really be worth it? What if he turns out just like all the other NPCs? After all, using the Fruit of Life for this plan would be irreversible once it was done. Come on me, think!

The Fruit of Life is a one-time usage item. Once it is used, the item will disappear along with a powerful wish. It is the ultimate prize from one of the Ultimate Gachapon of Gaia, only four lucky players get to have this ultra rare item in the game, and that includes Ainz. Even his guild mates aren't lucky enough to get one. However, Ainz also spent all of his 13th month bonus pay during the event that he almost practically starved during the holidays.

Once used, the Fruit of Life grants a very powerful wish for the user. It essentially covers all the wishes the user can think of. The wish is powerful enough to be in par with a world item belonging to The Twenty. You could even do so much as to wish to vanish a player from the game, the afflicted player will be banned from the game from entering any servers, prompting the player to start all over again if he wishes to play again.

So an easy task of creating an NPC would be a piece of cake for this powerful item.

Ainz was troubled for the stake of sacrificing a very powerful item just to compensate for his selfish longing for a companion.

Is it really worth it? If I do create an NPC, how should he look like? Should he be powerful like Rubedo? No, power alone would be insufficient. I want to make him rational and cunning. I should also make his overall stats comparable to the Guardians. And definitely not someone constantly reminding me of my past shameless self like Pandora. Haaah.

Finally reaching his verdict, the Overlord reached for his pocket dimension and took a glowing red apple.

Okaaaaayyyyyy, I never thought I would actually finish my first chapter of the story. Jeez, I though I'd give up after writing a few sentences alone, screw me. Welp, what do you expect from a rookie? Anyways, to those who actually spared this humble work, I'll forever be grateful! You guys are awesome! See you in the next chapters!

As always, hail Ainz Ooal Gown-sama!
