OK... So this is my very first fanfic for this series. Long story short, work's been kinda slow so my hours got cut back thanks to the quarantine. I'm just happy to still have a friggin' job. Since I've been making time to catch up on MHA (Yeah, I'd fallen super-behind), a few ideas popped into my head I just started writing them down. Basically, this is an AU where All-Might was able to hide his injury for a little longer, Bakugo never got captured by the Sludge Villain, Izuku's first encounter with All-Might ended at the part where he told him to keep his dreams realistic, leading to him nearly giving up on being a Hero. But an encounter with a kind girl who encourages him to not give up on his dream.

So, after two years, around the start of Class 1-A's second year at UA, he makes his debut. Also, he's going to a regular high school, his birth father passed away when he was younger (I mean, considering he has yet to make any appearances in canon, as far as I know, he might as well be dead) and his Mom started up a family business to support them, Eri is also in the story as Izuku's adoptive sister, and Ochako recently moved to Izuku's neighborhood and becomes his first real friend.

Another thing, Izuku does things like a more... traditional Superhero. Secret Identity, he builds up his body, takes up martial arts, designs and makes his own costume, and learns some very useful skills. I basically wanted to go for a Spider-Man thing, without outright making Izuku into Spider-Man. But, since he can't afford the materials to make useful gadgets like Batman or Spider-Man, he basically relies on what's at hand.

Also, yes, this is an IzuOcha fic. And Bakugo is still basically a piece of garbage in this story. Sorry if that bothers you, I just don't like him. OH! And the League of Villains stuff happens a bit differently in this universe. Just bare with me. Oh, and in this universe, Quirkless humans aren't as uncommon as in this story as in canon.

Chapter One: The Mysterious Saviour!

It was night time, around 9PM. A young heroine-in-training named Ochako Uraraka, also known by her hero name, Uravity, was walking from the train station back to her apartment after a long day at hero study/training at UA, the top Hero training school in the world. The reason she was getting back home so late was because a few of her friends wanted to celebrate and grab dinner. And for good reason!

It was the beginning of her second year at this school and she'd made so many happy memories. She'd made friends, got to learn from some of the greatest Superheroes of all time, and she was on her way to achieving her goal of becoming a Hero to help support her parents, just as she'd planned. She felt a bit selfish, wanting to become a Hero for the paycheck, but she really wanted to help her parents and give them a more comfortable life, like they deserved. But she also wanted to be a Hero so she could help people, something she loved doing, ever since she was a little girl.

Suddenly, she heard a noise just above her. She looked up and spotted a shadowy figure jump from one rooftop to another then disappear. 'What... who was that? A new Hero on night patrol?' She was so lost in thought, she didn't see what was coming next.

As if out of no where, she felt something cold, what felt like metal cables, encircle her wrists and drag her into an alleyway! She let out a scream of fright and shock. Loud enough for the mysterious figure from before to hear. He stopped in his tracks, turning back and running in the direction of the frightened scream he'd just heard. Determined to help whoever it was who needed his help!

It happened so fast, she needed a second to regain her focus. Despite how dark it was, she got a good look at the one who'd just abducted her. He was tall, wearing a trench coat, and the metal coils binding her wrists while lifting her off the ground were protruding from the top of the man's wrists. With two more coils coming from the bottom of his wrists, one wrapped over her mouth to prevent her from screaming again. The other with a sharp tip forming at the end, aimed at her neck.

"None of that now..." he said in a hushed voice, his eyes were bloodshot with no visible pupils or irises, his hair was white and spikey, and his face had a crazed grin full of sharp pointed teeth. "All I want... is to see you bleed... can you do that for me?"

Ochako was terrified, but her self-defense training immediately kicked in. She kicked the crazed man in the face, then tried to break out of the hold he had her in. But it was no use... his grip was too tight, making it impossible for her to use her Quirk! The villain then bound her legs with his fourth coil, making it impossible for her to kick him again!

"AW... YOU FUCKING... BITCH!" He exclaimed. He tightened his grip even more, causing Ochako to gasp in agony! His face etched with crazed anger on his face! "That wasn't nice!"

He pulled her closer to him, his face mere inches from hers. "Just for that, I'm gonna make it even MORE painful for you!"

She shut her eyes, terrified of what was about to happen, bracing herself for the worst! But then...

*POW*

At what sounded like a boot hitting hard against the man's head, Ochako opened her eyes to see someone wearing a green costume kicking her attacker in the face! With that one kick, the man's coils lost their grip on her wrists, dropping Ochako, sending him flying backwards!

She collapsed to the ground, still shaken by what had just happened, only to bare witness to her rescuer, flipping backward off her attacker's face, landing on the ground only to quickly get back up on his feet, and the coil villain fall to the ground, disoriented by what just happened. He shook it off, got back onto his feet, and turned to face the masked figure!

"YOU LITTLE SHIT!" With that, the villain lashed at the masked figure with one of his coils, only to stare in utter shock when his opponent dodged and grabbed the coil with both hands and pulled! Next thing the villain knew, he was being pulled forward, only to receive a solid punch to the face, knocking him backwards! He was then pulled back up, only to receive another blow to the face, this time an uppercut, then pulled once again, receiving a spinning elbow to cheek! Then he was pulled toward the Masked Stranger again, this time receiving a rather hard knee to the stomach, causing him to vomit! And finally, a chop to the back of the neck, rendering him unconscious! With that, the coil villain was knocked out cold and fell to the ground.

The Masked Stranger then proceeded to drag the coil villain over to a fire escape, hopped up, pulled the ladder down, and tied the villain up against it, using the man's own coils, in a tight and rather convoluted knot.

His task complete, the mysterious stranger then turned around to face the person he'd just rescued. It was then Ochako finally got a good look at her rescuer. He was only slightly taller than her by a few inches and had a thin frame. She'd guessed he must have had some muscle hidden under that costume of his, given his display of strength against the villain.

Speaking of which, his costume was unique. Comprised of what looked like a unitard, that was a dark shade of green with white accents, with a white gloves, a red belt, black elbow and knee pads, a pair of red boots, and an... interesting looking cowl, with what she thought looked like rabbit ears extending from the top pointing toward the back, that covered his head, with the lower half of his face covered by a strange-looking black mouthpiece with what looked like "teeth" painted across the jawline.

He quickly rushed over to her, worry in his eyes. Once he was in front of her, he extended his hand to her. "Are you alright, Miss?" Ochako met his eyes, then slowly reached out, and placed her hand in his own, keeping her pinky lifted so as to not accidentally activate her Quirk.

He then helped her to stand, her legs still shaking from her being attacked by the coil villain. She then fell forward, only for her mysterious rescuer to catch her. She then regained her footing, standing upright. She then took a closer look at his face. It was then she noticed his mouthpiece was slightly transparent, his nose and mouth could be seen through it. She also noticed his eyes were uncovered, letting her see his dark green irises.

Seeing his worried expression, she finally found her voice. "Y-yes! I'm... I'm okay! Thank you so much for saving me!" She then grinned with excitement. "You were amazing! Seriously! How you caught his coils and pulled him then punched him! That was so cool!"

He then became extremely flustered from hearing her praise him. "O-oh! Uh, uh... y-you're welcome. I-I'm, uh... happy I could help!"

"Are you kidding?! You did more than help! You really saved my life! Thank you so much!" She said, doing a punching motion with her right arm, a habit of hers when she got really excited. Only for her to wince and grab her wrist with her other hand. "Ow-ow-ow-ow!" She hissed in pain.

"O-oh! Here! Let me see." He took her hands again, rolled up her sleeves, and inspected her wrists. They were slightly red from where the coil villain had binded her. They'd more than likely bruise up soon. He reached into one of the pouches on his belt. He pulled out some ointment and applied it to the markings. Then he pulled out a roll of gauze and wrapped them around her wrists.

Ochako was in awe of how careful he was, handling her wrists with a soft, gentle touch. It was as if he was afraid he would break her. When he finished, he let go of her hands. She looked back up at his face again and gave him a sweet smile. "Wow! A strong fighter AND you can do first aide! You really ARE amazing! Thank you so much!"

His face heated up, which he covered with his gloved hands. "U-uh... I-it w-was no trouble! I'm j-j-just so-sorry I didn't get here f-fast enough!" He stuttered nervously. She found it a bit hard to believe he was the same person who bravely took down that scary-looking villain mere minutes ago.

'Weird. He was so brave a moment ago. Now he's all stuttery and flustered. Maybe he doesn't have much experience talking to girls. It's kinda cute actually.' His mannerisms weren't the only thing she found cute. 'His bunny ears are adorable!' With that thought, she reached up with her hand and took one of the rabbit ears in her hand. He felt the slight tug on top of his cowl and looked at what she was doing with an inquisitive expression, which she noticed and giggled. He looked like a confused adorable puppy to her. "Sorry! I just wanted to see how soft they feel. They're really cute! You look like a big green bunny-rabbit!"

He blushed again. "OH! Uh... th-thank you! I think..."

Ochako smiled at him. "I haven't seen you around. Did you just start here? Are you from UA like me? If so, what class are you in? Or are you from a different Hero school?" She watched as his pupils shrink, his face now full of panic as she moved closer and closer to him, her face about two inches from his.

"I-I-I-I... I GOTTA GO NOW! P-P-PLEASE EXCUSE ME! I'M SORRY!" He then bolted down the alleyway at what seemed like 50 miles an hour to her, then he made a sharp right.

After a few seconds of confusion, she went after him. "Hey, wait! Was it something I said? Where ya goin'?" Her Mie Prefecture accent seeping through with that last question. Once she turned the corner, she was surprised to find that he had disappeared. She looked around the street frantically, only to see no trace of him anywhere. She heard a sound above her. She looked up to see him flipping onto the roof of the building she was standing next to.

She activated her Quirk by tapping herself on the shoulder, using it to float herself up to the roof. 'How did he get up there so fast?!' When she reached the rooftop, he was gone. Releasing her Quirk, she landed gently and started looking for him around the roof, looking left and right, behind the roof closets and air conditioning units. Only to not see him anywhere. She decided to give it up and call the police and let them know about the coil villain. Once she finished her call, she turned around to get down off the roof, taping herself on the shoulder again, activating her Quirk. She then took one last look behind her. "Hey! Thanks again for saving me! That was very brave!"

Ochako looked around one last time. That's when she noticed it... the tips of his green rabbit ears poking up from behind the rim on the edge of the next building, fluttering in the breeze. He must not have realized it was sticking up like that, giving away his hiding spot. *PFFFFT!* 'That's adorable!' She giggled at his antics. He obviously didn't want to be found and was waiting for her to leave so he could slip away unseen. So she decided to head back down to the ground below.

The masked young man, Izuku Midoriya, finally stood up. He signed in relief, sure she was finally gone. He then turned to leave. "And thanks for treating my injuries, too! That was very sweet!" He froze in place. Then turned around to see her, floating there again, choosing to keep her distance to not scare him off again, with a bright and wide smile on her pretty round face, her brown hair fluttering in the breeze. His dark green eyes went wide in surprise, making contact with her pretty chocolate-brown eyes.

She continued to smile, taking one last look at him. She waved. "I hope we meet again soon! You're my Hero!"

Izuku stood there. Stunned. Tears forming in his eyes. He looked down, rubbing at his eyes with the back of his gloved hand. He took his mouthpiece off and looked back up at her, revealing a wobbly smile. "THANK YOU! THANK YOU SO MUCH!"

She was taken by surprised at his sudden burst of teary gratitude. But she smiled nonetheless and waved him goodbye again. She watched him as he left, hopping from one rooftop to the next until he was out of sight. 'He seemed really nice. I wonder... why he was so secretive.' She then deactivated her Quirk, falling to the ground below, reactivating it just before she hit the pavement, then deactivated it again, returning her gravity, just as the police showed up. She looked at her now bandaged wrist and smiled. 'His hands were so... gentle...'

Meanwhile, after ten minutes of hopping across rooftops, Izuku finally arrived at the Midoriya grocery store/house, where be lived, and worked, with his mother and little sister. Climbing through his window, taking care so he didn't make any noise, he removed his cowl and looked at his reflection in the mirror. With tears in his eyes, he smiled. 'She said... she said... I was her Hero!'

After being told his entire life, ever since he was diagnosed as "Quirkless", by everyone that he could never be a Superhero, he'd been told, by the nice young lady he'd just saved, that he was a Hero. To her at least, but still. And that made him the happiest he'd ever been in years.

With that, he took off his costume, put the unitard and gloves in the wash, then went to take a quick shower to wash his messy green/black hair and cleanse his body of the sweat from his run that night. After he was clean, and his costume hung up to dry on a clothesline in the shower in his bathroom, he got into his sleeping shorts and a white shirt with a picture of his idol, the world's greatest Hero All-Might on the front, then fell back onto his bed, exhausted and ready to get some much-needed sleep. He had to help his Mom work the store in the morning.

His thoughts once again drifted back to the pretty young lady he'd just saved almost an hour ago. Thinking once again of that last thing she'd said to him with that warm smile on her beautiful face. 'I hope we meet again soon! You're my Hero!'

He let out a wistful sigh, a big smile on his face. He pulled his blanket over him and rested his head on his pillow, and finally closed his eyes. One last thought passed through his mind as he drifted peacefully off to sleep. 'Finally. I did it! I saved someone! I'm a Hero!' He finally fell asleep. Happy he had achieved his dream, on some level, however small it might be. 'I wonder if I'll see her again...'

Meanwhile, Ochako was finally just getting back to her small, yet affordable, apartment. She decided to skip dinner in favor of taking a quick shower and going to bed early. After she was dried off, she got dressed into her sleeping shorts and her oversized blue t-shirt with a picture on the front of her favorite Superhero Thirteen, slipped into her bed, and let out a sigh of a mix of exhaustion and relief.

Her thoughts drifted back to the nice and mysterious young Hero who had come to her rescue. He wasn't like your conventional Hero. He was brave and determined one moment, flustered and bashful the next. He was strong enough to take down a man twice his size with metal coils, yet gentle and careful while treating her injuries.

He was also very... secretive. She found that a bit odd. Usually new rookie Heroes wanted to get their faces out there, make a name for themselves, as a way of getting noticed by the public. He, on the other hand, didn't seem like he wanted to draw too much attention to himself. Which is why all she'd told the police was that a Hero she didn't recognize came to her aide and that she didn't get a good look at him. While she felt a bit guilty stretching the truth like that, she wanted to respect his desire to not have so much attention on him.

Just then, a thought occurred to her... 'Could he be working without a Hero license?' That would explain why he was so secretive and tried to leave so suddenly. Though, it wasn't unheard of for civilians to try and do Hero work without a license. Some people either did it to show off or get their faces on TV or for some kind of reward. But he didn't seem like he was trying to show off or anything like that. He seemed genuinely worried for her safety. She found that both endearing and thoughtful.

Ochako then thought back to what she'd said to him before he'd left. 'I hope we meet again soon! You're my Hero!' When she'd said that, she meant every word. He did something very brave to save her, then treated her injuries afterwards. What he did was the very definition of "Heroic".

And... she did hope she'd meet him again. He seemed really nice and she wouldn't mind working with him the next time she was interning for a Pro-Hero. She also remembered the way he'd reacted to what she'd said to him before he departed. His teary eyes, his wobbly smile, the way he'd thanked her. It was as if he needed to hear that and was very grateful to her for it. She smiled, comforted at the thought that she'd made him happy. 'I hope I see him again...' With that last thought, she drifted off into a pleasant night's sleep with a content smile on her face.

To be continued...

Author's Notes:

OK, so this first chapter is basically to introduce Izuku and Ochako, show a little of what Izuku can do, and establish a little of how he operates as a Hero trying to maintain a secret identity. I'm not much of a writer, but I just wanted to give this a try. Oh, and one more thing, the "Coil Villain" is based on a combo of Omega Red from the X-Men comics, and his lack of pupils & irises in his eyes is meant to be a reference to Rob Liefeld's tenancy to draw characters with blank white eyes, what Linkara of Atop the Fourth Wall calls "Youngbloods Disease". Yeah, expect a lot of references to other superhero titles. I read & watch a lot of superhero stuff.

Thank you for taking the time to give this a read. Feedback is appreciated. I wrote the first 6 chapters in my off-time from work, so expect those shortly.
