Resident Evil: Secrets of The Hive

Prologue: The Fall

Inside a lab within a place known as The Hive, a man was taking out vials from a large medical refrigerator. His gloved hands slipped them into a foam lined carry case. These vials were very delicate and filled with a cool blue liquid. His hands moved quickly. He needed to grab them before their creator Doctor William Birkin returns from his break. The terrorist organization Il Veltro would pay him big money for these samples. The rest of the fools here wouldn't know what will hit them he thought smugly.

Inside a dark room was a deformed girl chained up. She was moaning to herself. An elderly man known as The Keeper yelled from the nearby observation, "Will you keep it down in there?" as he continued to watch his film instead of the cameras. If he had been watching the camera then he might have picked up the fact that the girl was moaning in pain as she twisting her chains trying to break free. The girl smiled to herself as the chains started to bend. Soon she will be free to find her friend.

Back in the lab, the man has placed the last sample that will fit into the case when he is interrupted by the returning William Birkin. Birkin stated friendly knowing the man, "What brings you to my lab?"

"I am sorry for this William." The man said pulling out a gun from his pocket.

"Hey wait a minute. There is no need to get violent." Birkin afraid for his life not wanting to leave his daughter without a father especially since his wife had left him a few years back.

"I am truly for this William, but I gone to far to turn back." He shot Birkin in the chest causing William to collapse onto the nearby self. He left the room and said coldly, "Bye William." He did not notice that William during his fall had knocked a couple of vials onto the ground. The delicate glass vials had broken allowing what was inside to escape. Birkin meanwhile was dragging himself over to his prototype virus as it was the only thing to save him. He was must survive for Sherry's sake.

On another level of the lab was a Doctor John Clemens and he was on his computer in a room where other researchers were working. Birkin while a nice guy was a hard taskmaster. His phone went off and the ringtone signalled it was the love of his life, Ada Wong. He picked up the phone while glancing at a case like the man's who shoot Birkin. John was nervous. He whispered, not wanting to be overheard, "I don't know if I should be doing this Ada." He looked around nervously.

"John darling, I wouldn't ask if it wasn't important." The flirting voice of his loving girlfriend, Ada said, "We need this start our new life. TriCell will pay big bucks for this." She paused before saying, "It won't be that hard to…."

"Easy for you to say, I'm the one getting it!" John snapped before saying, "I am sorry my love, but this is stressing me out. I will get some after lunch." John jumped as a fire alarm started going off. All around him everyone else in an orderly fashion head for the door having been through this drill a hundred times before. "I've got to go. We are having a fire drill. Meet me tonight at the usual place."

"See you then darling." Ada said as John cut the call.

The girl managed to break free. She crashed through the door. The Keeper said fearfully into his walkie-talkie, "Lisa Trevor has escaped, I repeat…." Lisa killed him with her bare hands. She rushed off to find her friend Sherry. The only person to be nice to her.

John and his colleagues formed a crowd around the doors. Their boss, Keith Arving pushed his way through. He demanded, "What is the matter?"

A Security Officer named Elias said, "The doors won't budge sir." Everyone starts to panic. John tried to remind calm.

He said, "What about the doors at the back?" Elias heard him and shook his head.

"I checked it already." Elias said, "Its locked as well." Suddenly the room is covered in high-pressure gas flood into the room, sucking the oxygen out of the air. Normally making it impossible for a fire to breathe. But this case the people. Keith Arving was the first to collapse as he had made his way back to his office to get his phone. John's last thoughts was that he wished he could have seen Ada again.

A new researcher named Martin Cluckholm was inside the lift on his way to The Aqua Ring to start his first shift. The life suddenly stopped causing Martin to say confused, "What is happening?"

Tommy Nielsen, an Umbrella Executive said to him to reassure him, "The fire alarm must have gone off" Before muttering to himself, "I though the drill was tomorrow." He said loudly, "Don't worry we just have to take the stairs." Martin did not look reassured.

Martin said getting more freaked out, "Shouldn't the doors open or something?"

Nielsen replied with, "It's supposed take us to the nearest floor." The lights suddenly went out.

"Is that supposed to happen?" He cried as the lift lurched downwards into the depths. Killing hm and Nielsen in a fiery explosion.

Inside a lab containing a valuable plant known as Plant 43 was Wayne Li, Doctor Byron Cartwright and their assistant Frost. They were using samples of Plant 43 to create Doctor Birkin's virus. The fire alarm disturbed them. Li said sighing, "Another day, another drill. Alright everyone out."

"Ok just let me cover this sample." Doctor Cartwright said covering the sample. The main plant in the next room over started twitching sensing something in the air. Its vines crept towards the glass. Frost noticed vines on the glass, "What happened to Plant 43?"

"Quick we need to get out of here." Li ordered the scientists as the plant's vines pressed against the glass separating the plant from the scientists. It smashed the glass and one of the vines grabbed Frost who screamed. It dragged him into where Plant 43 was. Li and Doctor Cartwright rushed to the doors.

Doctor Cartwright said, "The door won't open." as both he and Li was grabbed by vines.
