Summary/disclaimer: Time for another chapter of Cloud Nine. Enjoy the 900-word chapter. I don't own Ducktales, Disney and Jymn Magon do.

(Scrooge's Mansion)

"You're going to bend the gasket if you try to fix it, trust me." Sam muttered before sighing and rubbing at his skull.

"Why aren't you ever helping me…" Della watched her husband sigh and slam his head down on the barrel before rolling his eyes.

"I want to point out that A. I helped you an hour ago… and B? You are pushing yourself when I said not to. I'm not going to help if you're going to keep this up." Sam stated, he sounded a lot more in pain over his decision then his face revealed.

Did Sam want Della to suffer? No, but he also didn't feel like not calling her out on her ego. Della always had to make something sound big when it wasn't. he loved her bravery and her drive to learn and improve along with how she was making as much an effort as him to parent their family… granted, that had a long ways to go, but no parent was perfect… not withstanding the fact that the mother of this family had been on the moon for almost 12 years and Sam had officially stepped back to work on supporting his children.

He still hated how stubborn Della was. Sam was a grease monkey; he knew how to butt heads with people and verbally throw down. Della always loved to build up walls that she couldn't really stand on.

The fact that A. she had decided to go with Dewey on a trip that Scrooge could have had them die on and her poor uncle wouldn't have even known about it RIGHT after she returned home.

And B? she decided the best decision was to try a game that Sam had tried to coach her on when they first started to play years ago. Della had blown off his help and that backfired when Huey proved to be more adapt at the game and learning how to strategize.

No, he didn't think Della was stupid, just as stubborn as him, and with a desire to constantly throw herself into the meat grinder, which was fine before she became a mom and now had reasons to be more cautious.

"Yeah, but I didn't expect Launchpad to take me serious!" Della watched Sam's eyebrow raise, a small smirk pulled at his lips.

"One word and I'll remind Scrooge that our wedding was almost destroyed by the Beagle Boys." Della watched Sam turn to the side with pure confusion before sighing.

"Our wedding was pretty much the worst luck we've had on an adventure." Sam stated before he turned to Della again.

"It wasn't an adventure." Sam rolled his eyes and shook his head.

"It was an adventure for me, and one of the best I've had." Della blinked and then hummed.

Then she realized Sam meant something different and she tried to launch herself at her husband.

Right before Launchpad had come out to ask something and she slammed into him before landing upside down.

"Ow." Della muttered, knowing she looked ridiculous at the moment.

Sam chuckled before Della flipped to her feet and started to chase her husband around the plane playfully.

"I'm gonna wipe that stupid goofy smirk off your face!" Sam chuckled and then flipped over the gate before taking off again, Della in pursuit.

"Uh… Guys? The plane?" It was then the wing fell off, causing Della to stop before blinking.

Then she let out a scream of panic and ran back to go and fix the plane she loved less then her family, but still held a very big place in her place.

"THE CLOUD SLAYER!" Della screamed before running back to go and fix the plane as Sam panted in exhaustion.

He forgot how Della could run after then him… and one of her legs was mechanical, so it wasn't like she had to go far to catch him.

Well, at least Della was going to try and tone things down because he was sure she wouldn't bother Launchpad if she was in much happier spirits.

It did also make him cautious about how Della would be later, so he decided to go inside, talk to Scrooge and not get his wife more interested in talking to him.

Della scared him a lot more then anything on Earth, it was pure amusement though to deal with Della.

He still loved his wife more then anything. He chuckled and then closed the door behind him as Della continued to work. She would get him if he needed her, she always had. he knew Della almost as much as her family did. She would go get help if she needed it, but handle it if she could.

"I wonder how the kids are doing at the moment." Sam hummed and then walked inside.

Sam had no idea how things would change down the road.

Author notes

Phew, another chapter done! I want to point out Sam and Della are going to bond a lot more. I am going to update the story a lot more infrequently due to wanting to deal with other stories. Next chapter will be in 2-5 or so weeks and will show the aftermath of the episode. Until then, Lighting Wolf out!

Ps: Lena is getting updated starting next week.
