CHAPTER SIX

It look about fifteen minutes before the torrent of gold to stop.

Looking around the basement, he didn't expect the amount of gold is enough to cover the whole area. Heck, the area where the gold was released created a mountain of gold that is nearly touching the ceiling.

Thank God the ceiling is very high.

Seeing the amount of gold that he'll be using, he cannot help himself to feel bitter for spending these much money just to summon five of his bodyguards.

The feeling however didn't last for he knew that this is for the greater good.

He then activates the effect of his earrings to deploy a barrier around him.

And as effect of item activates, a transparent barrier rapidly expand which in turn, pushing everything around him, including the gold coins that he is standing on.

When he saw the barrier pushed away the gold coins, he deactivate it immediately.

He then pulls out a luxurious looking chair that he took from the living room and set it down.

This is actually the reason he used the item.

If he set the chair on top of the gold coins, he might fall later when the coin disappears. And he doesn't want that to happen.

There is a saying that first impression matters. Although he isn't trying to act like somebody, he doesn't want to look foolish, especially to his vassals.

"Let's get this over with." He sighs before sitting down the chair.

Looking at the gold, he mumbles:

"Claim your fee and serve me well, come forth my servants!"

In a similar fashion to Shalltear's revival, the mountains of gold quickly melted before congealing into a singular mass of liquid gold that spread all across the room.

As he is preparing lift himself to avoid disrupting the liquid gold, he didn't expect that it actively avoided him.

In an unrelated note, as he is watching the pool of gold, he wonders if he should melt some gold and put it in the pool so that he could swim on it like Scrooge McDuck.

The liquid gold quickly flowed and gathered into five spots.

Within a second, the gold formed five vaguely humanoid figures.

Like watching a video in a fast-forward manner, the four humanoid figures quickly developed their features as well as clothing.

Once everyone of them completed developing their appearance, the golden glow slowly dissipates indicating that he is about to meet his guards.

This is it.

When the golden glow vanished, the four simultaneously knelt like a knight in the presence of their King.

Seeing how synchronize they are, he held himself from gasping in surprise. He wonders how can they do that so well.

As he was about to inspect his vassals, the man on the furthest left spoke:

"ALTOS... PRESENTS… HIMSELF… TO… THE... MASTER."

The man's manner of speaking is very slow, akin to watching a YouTube video with a bad internet connection, and monotonous.

The man's height is about 2.2 meter, has a flawless dark skin, akin to the color of milk chocolate. He is bald and has a thin pair of eyebrows that is almost unnoticeable due to his skin tones. His exotic skin and the lack of hair made his eyes even more noticeable.

The gold colored hard eyes is so beautiful and wild. As if, he could choose to promise you a night of passionate and animalistic tryst or be intimidated by simply gazing at you.

Like all his bodyguards, he wears a black suit, a plain white dress shirt and a black tie. His clothing however do not hide how sturdy and tone he is. It is as if the clothing were painted into his skin.

The man's muscularity doesn't diminish his appeal. In fact, it enhances his other features by a great degree, giving him the impression that he could protect from everything and anything.

Despite how appealing the man looks, John is thoroughly disappointed when he learned that Altos is a golem.

But is he is not 'just' any golem.

You see, golems in YGGDRASIL become stronger proportionate to the quality of the material used. With the question, what if one use the best ore to make a golem? Not just as its core, but its entirety.

Well, you'll get a golem like Altos. A golem that is basically made using prismatic ore.

This results to Altos' having a ridiculously high base stats, additional bonuses and a lot of immunities. And even though, its job class and racial class focused on the defensive, he could still dish out incredible amount of physical damage.

Both the creator and designer of Altos really did make use of his protagonist vast resource to produce this him. His protagonist didn't complain though.

He was delighted to see how his wealth gave birth to a very powerful servant, despite never summoning Altos.

Seeing the positive feedback of given by the protagonist, others followed suit. Altos then became a footnote for the succeeding guards.

"Anan Tasha A. Shesha presents himself to the Master." The man next to Altos, spoke very gently and softly.

Unlike Altos, Anan's skin is beautifully sun-kissed tan, a perfect golden brown. He stand about 1.8 meter tall and sports a glossy curled caramel brown hair, long enough to partially hide his captivating emerald-green eyes.

Because of his hair length, his features were all shadows and light. His nose a long straight patrician line, his upper lip narrow but with a perfect bow to it, the lower lip fuller and enticing.

Another noticeable feature of his is, his long legs. This make him look leaner, despite him being fairly muscular.

He wears similarly styled black suit and white dress shirt as Altos, but his tie however, is an emerald-green with a snake scale pattern.

Anan's supposed role is a very powerful single-target control mage. His role is to hijack the highest damage dealer or any the team's most important player in the opposing team. And then, use them to create chaos and confusion over the battlefield. All of this is something that he could accomplish while being in a relatively safe position.

With the way he is build, it would take a very powerful dispel spell to remove his control over his target. Did I mention that has removing his control has a high chance of failing? Because it does.

The first try has 75% chance of failing. The second has 50% and so. This makes it very difficult to remove his control over his target.

High tier cleansing spells have long cooldown, so by the time it's up, the battle is already won.

Of course his build has drawbacks, like, he is super fragile. But Anan's designer made use of a weird game mechanic to use Anan's fragility to his trump card.

A fun fact, in all of the guards Anan and his Elisha are the squishes. But assassinating them when all his guards present, is practically a suicide.

"Elisha Amos Enoch, presents himself to the Master."

The man's height and body mass is similar to Anan. He isn't as long-legged as Anan. His limbs are perfectly proportional.

His skin tone is different as well. His is so white and smooth looking that it looks like a very luxurious piece of porcelain. He has a long black hair that is beautiful arranged and pinned by a single metallic peacock feather.

Another captivating features of the man are his phoenix shape eyebrow and a pair of onyx eyes. His eyes radiate an unfathomable amount of wisdom. Finally, his gender neutral features enhances the air of mystery surrounding him.

He wears similar colored suit and tie as the group. His however has a rainbow-colored pocket square.

So he is that guy, huh…

Among the protagonist bodyguards, Elisha is the one that is always summoned when his protagonist leaves the safety of his stronghold. This is because Elisha's build focuses on divination, anti-divination and stealth detection.

A build that isn't desired by a lot of players.

Since YGGDRASIL is game focused on PvP or Guild wars, it is very rare to find a player who is willing to build his character around divination and anti-divination. It is partially due to it being not flashy or cool-looking.

This is why Elisha is made this way. He address the issue of needing a divination specialist in his protection squadron.

And since his build is so specific, he is very good at what he does. From the protagonist memory, Elisha had save him and his guards multiple times.

This prompts his protagonist to upgrade Elisha's build and equipment the same degree as Altos. In short, Elisha is the second most expensive guard that he had.

"Mikolaj Behnke, presents himself to the Master."

Just like the previous two, Mikolaj shares the same body mass and height.

He has a fair complexion littered with freckles. Nevertheless, he is still remarkably handsome due to his bold features. His ginger red hair has this windswept spiky thick hairstyle that sooths him so well. Lastly, he had this very warm and welcoming brown eyes that will remind you of a warm coffee mixed with cream in a cold day.

Like the rest of the guards, Mikolaj also wears a black suit, white dress shirt and black tie. He also has additional items like a square-shaped reading glasses and a pair of black leather gloves.

Mikolaj is a product of a designer's curiosity that answers a what-if situation. The situation goes like this, what if he meets an enemy that as tanky as Altos.

Mikolaj is the answer to that.

He could unleash a terrifyingly powerful single hit AOE to bring down Altos from a hundred to zero. Well, provided that he is out of Altos' attack range, not interrupted during casting, Altos not carrying any resurrecting item nor had time to use his damage absorbing skill.

"Hiron A. Bask, ipinipresenta ang sarili sa Master. (Hiron A. Bask, presents himself to the master.)"

He is about 1.9m tall. The man's hair is extremely pale gold and had a deep blue eyes that reflects different shades of light like a very exquisite gemstone. His beautiful eyes is accompanied by a set of slightly thick eyebrow the same color as his hair.

From what he can see, the man has a wide shoulder, narrow waist and slender limbs. A well-proportioned body. Overall not only does he look good, his body is something most men would envy and women would fawn.

His clothing is the same as Altos but instead of wearing a belt, he wears a thick black suspender that is visible because his suit is unbuttoned. This also made it possible to see the vague outline of his body. He radiates strength yet tame, gentle yet domineering.

Although his wings and halo are not visible, the man radiates an aura of holiness.

FOR GOD'S SAKE! WHY IS THIS MAN GLITTERING? GLITTERING!

Tyrean has the urge to squint or look away. But in the end, he endures it.

As he had said before, Hiron is a well-rounded guard—a perfect guard that could fit all team comps.

" " " " " We offer our utmost loyalty to the Master!" " " " "

As he looks at his vassals, his is internally screaming.

What the hell?! Did my protagonist hired a bunch of thirsty workers? And then have them mould their ideal partner? Seriously?

Truth be told, John is fairly jealous of how handsome his guards. This is because he still isn't used to the idea of him being handsome. Thankfully, Tyrean is handsome enough that he won't be overshadowed by his guards.

Dismissing that though, he conditions himself. And once he is ready, he spoke:

"Raise your head."

With a swoosh, everyone raised their head simultaneously.

"First, you have my gratitude for answering my call."

"There is no need to thank us Tyrean-sama. We are made for serve you. This is the every purpose of our existence." (Elisha)

"Elisha is right, Tyrean-sama. There is no need to thank us. Our existence would be meaningless if we cannot serve Tyrean-sama." (Anan)

Both Altos and Hiron nodded in agreement.

He wanted to insist thanking them but stop himself. He recalls that Ainz had the same problem before. If he continues to say thank you, they will never get a move one. He simply nodded at them.

" " " " "We may be lacking but hereby swear to be—" " " " "

"—YOUR... SHIELD—" (Altos)

"—your will—" (Anan)

"—your eyes—" (Elisha)

"—your sword—" (Mikolaj)

"—iyong gamit (your tool)—" (Hiron)

" " " " "—we shall accomplish any task set to us, without hesitation, no matter how arduous or difficult, and above all we will protect you and all your interest. This we swear with every fiber of our being! " " " " "

Looking at how solemn his bodyguards pledge themselves to him, makes him want to coo at how touching the sight before him. Having five equally handsome looking entity pledge their undying allegiance and loyalty makes him feel ten feet tall.

His initial nervousness is soon replaced by excitement.

Stick with the plan.

John stands and applaud.

Clap, clap, clap!

"Well said. Very well said. I am very thrilled to know that you'll carry my command without fail."

He could see his guards' eyes shine when they were praised. If they all have tails, they would be wagging it vigorously. He almost want to pet them.

Seeing how happy they look, he is hesitant to continue.

"That being said, I ask you to never blindly follow my commands. Do not label yourselves nor act like mindless tools, I already have a lot of those. The most important thing you need to do when you receive my order is to understand its true meaning. After doing so, you must take the most appropriate action. Listen well my guards, do not blindly follow orders. You must think before you act. If you feel your orders are in error or if you have a better alternative, then you must tell me or the person proposing the idea."

He could see them deflating bit by bit. It's almost laughable at how easy it is to make them happy and feel sad.

Although he feels bad for saying those words. After all, he is a people pleaser. He always try his best to make everyone happy. But this is necessary. He reminds himself. Which is why he press on.

He doesn't want his guards acting like the NPCs of The Great Tomb of Nazarick, who think of Ainz's commands as absolute.

"What I need are flexible vassals. Can you be that?"

The shine in his guards' eyes returned and is even brighter than before. The group then answered him with a resounding chorus of:

" " " " "YES!" " " " "

"Good."

Satisfied with their resolve, John returns to his seat and begins the briefing.

"First, we are brought into this world by an unknown force. It's best not to think about that for the moment. The first priority is to secure the surrounding area. That being said, the task might be difficult if there are only five of you, not to worry though, after this briefing I'll be summoning some mercenary to assist you."

"The second concern is our location. Elisha!"

"Yes, Tyrean-sama."

"I need you to scry the surrounding area."

"Tyrean-sama, forgive this one's incompetence but may I ask the scope of my scrying?"

Oh! He's asking question. That's good.

"No. You are not incompetent. Rather, you are very intelligent. So intelligent, that you read between the lines."

"To be praise by the Supreme One... this one is extremely grateful."

"Elisha, what is your scrying limit?"

"It's about 40km, Tyrean-sama."

"Anan, could you boost Elisha's scrying?"

"Yes, I can Tyrean-sama. However, I could only boost his ability by 30%."

"That would do. Ah! Before I forget, if you find any intelligent lifeforms, have Anan control it and bring it here. Make sure to do it covertly as possible."

"Next, the rules governing YGGDRASIL applies in this world as well. However, there are exception to the rule. Things like..."

He then explained to his bodyguards the possibility of a skill or spell changing their effect, like what happened to Shalltear's passive [Blood Frenzy].

"Any questions so far?"

Elisha glance at his fellow guards before answering:

"We have none Tyrean-sama."

"The next concern is about the items that originated from YGGDRASIL might be present in this world as well. This includes the all-powerful and terrifying World class items."

He then begins to lecture his guards what are these so called world class items.

"The world class items are the remnants of the leaves of the world tree that weren't eaten by the world eater. This leaves were scattered throughout the remaining nine world as world items. There are about two hundred of them and each carry the power of an entire world within them. Thus gaining the name World class items."

"With that in mind, these items are by far the strongest and most rare items that you could possess."

A trace of awe is visible in his guards' faces. I mean, who wouldn't be surprise about how brokenly OP those items are. Right?

"To give you a better understanding to how powerful they are, let me tell you about the effect of a known world class items named [Downfall of Castle and Country] or [Ruinous Beauty]."

"It's a dress like clothing that allows the wearer to forcibly take control of the mind of any target creature regardless of any immunities it has. The wearer of this item grants its user control over the creature for an indefinite period of time."

A solemn gleam then shined through his guards eyes. He didn't hesitate to tell them the most dangerous aspect of the world class items.

"The most terrifying thing about the effect of this item is, it cannot be dispelled by anything less than a world item. Making it harder to counter their effect."

"What a terrifying power." Anan comments.

Is that really appropriate for you to say? I mean, your build revolves around controlling others. Shouldn't you be as terrifying as that item?

Nevertheless, he kept that thought to himself.

"Indeed, they are. This why I'm telling you about them. When the time comes for you to go out there, I ask you to be very 'VERY' careful. Some of those items could literally change the world. Not to worry though—" He then pulls out five world class items from his inventory.

Thankfully, these world class items I have is suitable for his them.

"—A world class item can be resisted by another world class item. As long as you carry one of these, you'll gain resistance over them. I give you permission to use them if there will come a time that requires you to do so."

He then proceeds to distribute one world class item for each of them.

"Tyrean-sama if I may."

"What is it, Elisha?"

"Is this the reason why you only summoned the five of us?"

He smiled before responding.

"Exactly. I ashamed to admit it but even with my vast wealth I wasn't able to obtain them all."

Years before the YGGDRASIL announced its end, his protagonist used his vast connection to find and talk to a player who obtained a world class item. In the end of the day, his representative wasn't able to convince the player to sell it to him.

When he saw this memory, it's truly a testament to money can't buy everything.

As he is under deep though, he failed to notice the brewing anger emanating from his guards. Even the supposedly kind angel Hiron didn't hold back his anger.

His guards are very furious at the thought of someone defying his orders. Thankfully, they reign their anger in as quickly as possible. This is because they instinctively knew that their Master isn't found of violence. Which is why they hid it as fast as possible.

"Tyrean–sama?"

"…Hm? Ah! Forgive me for spacing out, Elisha."

"There is no need for Tyrean-sama to apologize to use. Rather, forgive this one for stepping out of time. I have embarrassed you."

"Not at all. Not at all. I worry for the other safety thus its best not to summon them for a while."

"We are very happy to know that Tyrean-sama cares for our safety."

"Cough! Cough! Moving on, I also need you to familiar yourself with the other's skills and abilities. By doing so would increase your teamwork."

"Next is—"

He then proceeds to tell then all the information he learned from Ainz's experience and discovery.

He told them the possibility of encountering someone with a [Talent], someone using [Martial Arts], controlling their killing intent. What to do when they meet hostile forces, and a lot of don'ts.
