Andre King created by myself. Theresa created by me.
"So… This is Metropolis, huh?" A teenager whispered nonchalantly.
He was a teenager of African-American descent, with black hair and bright brow eyes with thick eyebrows; he also has a lean but muscular physique. He was sporting a yellow hoodie and gray T-shirt with a pair of blue jeans and white sneakers.
Right now he was inside a taxi along with a cat, looking at this new city with a bored and slightly annoyed expression as he leaned in his seat.
"Tsk! what a pain in the ass." He muttered as he let out a tired sigh.
"Hey kid, you don't have to behave like a moody teen ya know? It isn't like Theresa's a bad person." The cat snickered as he gave the teen a knowing look.
"Huh, funny. As matter of fact I never said I wanted to be adopted by her or anyone as I recall correctly" The dark-haired teen glared at the cat with a deep frown.
He remembered how it all started how these powers came to him, not further than a year ago. It all started when he began hearing voices and tought he was going crazy, but in reality he was telepathically listing to the animals and some people of his old neighborhood.
"Aye aye Captain! You said that!" The cat rather than snapping back, simply chuckle as if the animosity of the boy wasn't anything unnerving. "However, as you may know, your opinion is next to useless when the adults see you as a kid so whatever you like it or not she will be your new parent" He added with what seemed to be a fox-like smirk. "Besides, this city's got some good looking girls. Who knows, perhaps ya can get one, to be more… Intimate"
"Im not gonna do that you pervert cat." The black-haired teen spat back. "Why do you follow me around anyway?"
"Maybe i like your personality. And it's only for fun. There is no need for for something serious. Ya could have fun with her and no one would bat an eye." The dark-furred cat shot back with a lazy shrug.
"Haha, very funny Müller."
"Me like to please, my boy." The cat responded with what seemed to be a grin. "And look, you even named me. It's like your begging me to stay with you."
"Shut up." Teen told the animal.
"Seriusly though, your uncle told yah to behave." The cat said. "Ya are expected to stay with her for a few months at least, so don't try to escape or screw up."
"I can escape whatever I want."
"Ah ah ah! That's where ya're wrong, at least 'cuz I'm here. Remember, your uncle gave me strict orders to look for a good home for ya… And ya know I can force ya to stay" The cat replied back instantly as he waved his tail in 'as-matter-of-fact' motion which make the teen to glare him harder.
"For an apparent cat, you're an furball asshole" The brown-eyed teen spoke up as he crossed his arms as huffed in annoyance.
"Yup! Colin always called me that!" The cat said with an amused tone.
At the mention of that name, the teen adopted a somber and more irritated look. "… He could always take care of me" he muttered with barely contained anger.
Hearing the guy's respond, cat sighed. "Andre… Ya know it's not that easy."
"Whatever. Just don't expect me to get all lovey dovey with them. I'll be nice to aunt Theresa and I'll behave, but nothing else." Andre scoffed with a sour look.
"That's the spirit my boy!" Müller cheered excitably. "And be sure to get a sweat girlfriend with a nice pair of bo—"
"SHUTTUPYOUCREEPCAT!"
BANG!
The cat couldn't even finish the sentence before Andre tried punch the cat… But it quickly got out of the way, and shut up.
"Honestly, sometimes I wonder how in hell I ended up with you." Andre added with a dull look. 'Leaving aunt Theresa's' insistence to adopt me aside, it's amazingly suspicious that I got a full scholarship even though I tried to stay under the radar for so long time' The teen thought with a frown as he moved his fingers and small cracks of lighting appeared, he began to look at the view of the city as he remembered.
He remembered how he was afraid to one day tell his uncle about his powers. He was afraid of what would happen, it's not becuse he had power's, there were other powered individuals or things around the world.
For the city of Metropolis, it wasn't an uncommon occurrence to hear about an attack from some manner of giant monster, an army of evil robots, or even an attack from one of the many evil organizations that plagued the world such as Hydra or AIM . Luckily, there were people who fought these threats head on.
From the invincible Iron Man, to the Dark Knight, Batman. From the uncanny X-Men, to the symbol of peace himself, Superboy or... Superman.
All of these heroes fight for the values that all heroes strive for: Truth, justice, and hope. However, like all heroes, they all start from humble beginnings.
Andre remembered when his electrical power came up, it was when he and his uncle Colin went out to get some Pizza... And then it just happened. He'd hide in the pizzarias bathroom and wouldn't leave. Until his uncle came in and told him everything was ok and he had nothing to fear.
Andre revealed everything and he was chocked by the result, his uncle hugged him and told he was proud.
Later when they arrived home his uncle revealed him everything. That Andre's not... totally human. He said Andre was a Garde, well half anyway. The garde are subspecies of the people who are gifted with powers known as Legacies, they lives in secret from the world. He said that Andre and a few other are the survivors of a massacre that nearly ended them.
Andre was curious and scarred. He wanted to lurn more, but he couldn't, his uncle send him away, here to Metropolis and only gave him somethings and a new Phone and told him to call if his Telekinesis started up. And that would be safe.
There wasn't much Andre could do now, so he grabbed his new phone and started using it to check the news for some cool superhero fights or something.
The news spouted various headlines such as "Iron Man Says 'Lights Out' To Living Laser" and "Superman Saves The Day Again". But the most interesting headline was about the sighting of a new hero, or rather "heroine", saving several citizens from a monster attack just the previous day. The story kept asking the same question over and over:
"Who Is The Wonder Woman?"
...
"Your right hook is still in need of work, Andre" Müller stated as he walked to Andre's side.
"You know i can electrocute you, right?" The dark-haired teen replied back with a dull tone.
After traveling throughout the city of tomorrow, the brown-eyed teen and his cat finally arrived to Susan's house. He walk up with his bags and reached the doorbell before him.
It was a big house appears to be a large beutifull house, with a variety of colors on the outside and has too many windows for his liking, this was obviously located in a rich neighborhood and that annoyed him, he wasn't very fond of rich and snobbish people so he hopped not to find any.
"Well, I guess that's the signal for my leave. Be sure to behave, Andre, I will return every few day's to checkup with your progress" Müller said as he walked away.
"You won't come inside to ruin the rest of my day?" Andre questioned with a raised eyebrow.
"Nah, ya will be fine by your own" The dark-furred cat said nonchalantly as he waved his tail. "Bye-bye kid!" Müller said as he took his leave.
"Yeah sure, bye" Andre rolled his eyes with a faint smirk as he saw the cat fading at the horizon.
Taking a deep breath, he rang the doorbell and waited at the door but after a few seconds no one came out of the house to greet him so he rang the doorbell again… And no one appeared, again.
DING! DING! DING!
After another 3 more tries, he grew annoyed by the lack of reaction but he kept his cool. "Ok, maybe she ain't in" He said calmly, he wouldn't be surprised if she had to leave the house because everyone has needs. He rang the doorbell one last time and finally someone appeared before him.
It was a beautiful woman with cut short black hair, with small wisps of hair framing her dark brown eyes and sharp chin. On her ears, she sported small black stud earrings, and her lips are a dark red. She's wearing a mint shirt underneath a brown low-cut buttoned cardigan, paired with light caramel-colored pants and dark brown flats.
She somehow gave an aura of seriousness and strict discipline while she talked at the phone.
"Aunt Theresa- " Andre tried to great her, but she cuts him halfway through as she speaks to the phone.
Andre was kinda use to this behavior from her everytime he saw her, she was the closets thing he had to a mother to be honest, a close friend of the family a close friend of his uncle.
She's an electrical and mechanical engineering, everytime he saw her she had all kinds of cool things like drones and stuff, he liked visiting her.
Theresa puts her phone done for a second and gives Andre a bear hug taking almost all his oxygen. "Hey Drey, it's good to see ya..." She said using his nickname.
"Hey aunt Theresa." He said trying to get some air then Theresa let go of him. "So... where's my room in this big house?" Andre asks with a smile.
"About that..." She says with. "Your gonna have to figure out by yourself."
"Why what's wrong?" Andre asked a bit worried.
"No, it's nothing serious." She says. "It's just that i got a convention in Switzerland, so I'll have to leave town for about two... to three... months..."
"Three month's!?"
"Yeah," She says taking a bag from behind the door. "And since i know your uncle also leaves you alone for months on end... will you be alright by yourself?"
Andre sighs in the reality of how use to this he is. "Yeah, i can make it."
"Great." She gives and a kiss on the forehead and gives his a peace of paper and a credit card. "This is one if my credit cards, the codes in the paper, there's some dinner on the kitchen, but you can order if you want to."
Well that went... well, Theresa had left on a taxi to the airport, she said she'd call once landed, but Andre didn't mind he was use to being alone most of the time. He liked it cause it gave him some... freedom's, he's actually relieved knowing how strict Theresa can be about rules and stuff.
So he just got inside and let the day go by...
The house was filled with numerous rooms that it was nearly impossible for him to just pick one they looked great, but in the end he made a choice and... he's ok with it.
Room he picked is fantastic, the room is spotless, with many features like a comfortable bed, huge flat screen TV on the wall with Netflix included, shelf with a few books and magazines, wardrobe, a computer desk with awesome computer and a personal bathroom. The hole room gave a "if you are looking for a place to stay in a castle... this is the place" kinda vibe.
The only thing he didn't like were some creepy clown paintings that were on a wall, but he was gonna take care of them later, right now he just wanted to unpack.
He began to take out some of the things in his and found his Katana swords. They were given to him by his uncle so he could keep up training his body and mind. He normally would only need one so he'll keep the other on the basement or whatever.
Later that night Andre signed as he lay awake in his bed. He wasn't sure why but he'd bin unable to fall asleep tonight. Realising he was getting no sleep anytime soon, he got up deciding maybe tiring himself out would help.
(Later in the city)
Andre moves down the streets, alive with nighttime city energy. Once again he felt like the carefree kid he was back in England and Chicago. He moves away from the Metropolis Skyline and turning into an alley, where he sees a perfect wall to start.
"This is so fresh." Andre smiled excited.
Andre leans down to his Bag and unzips it, to see the Krylon spray paint cans he brought with him. He puts the cans in position. Presses PLAY on his phone. Puts on his Wireless Headphones.
Andre smiles and starts painting. As he begun it was as if time speed up minutes turned into seconds as he was doing a painting of Superman flying high in the sky. It was only missing the red and blue but he was gonna take care of that-
CRUNK!
Andre looks around to what seemed to be of trashcans falling. He looks to see another teen. This teen looked African-American and he was sporting a hoodie and T-shirt combo very similar to Andre's.
Andre sees he was carrying a bag of spray paint very similar to his and he could see what the other one was gonna do.
Andre waves for him to come over and do some art. The other teen went along and started by doing tge same Andre did with the cans, the phone and music and began doing some painting.
They both went to there one past, but the other teen stopped as his blue paint can ran out.
"Heads up." The toon looks as Andre tossed him a can of blue pain, he caught it and smiled.
They both did there different things and time burned up. They started divided but the mpre they went thr more they worked together even giving each other some boosts to help reach the higher sides.
And wen they were both over they stepped back, admiring there work. A big drawing of both Superman and Batman with "Badass guardians" written under.
"Andre." Andre told the teen. "King." Andre stretched his arm for a fist bump.
"Miles." The teen now named Miles bumped back. "Morales."
Theyboth just sat there admiring there work.
"Well i can see you boy's had some fun."
They boy's looked up to see a white mam with grey and white hair and mustache with a pair of Gold Sunglasses, which was wierd cause it's nighttime.
"And... we're going to jail..." Andre sighed as he got up.
"What?" Miles asked "Nah, man. This is Stan, he owns this building. He let's people paint here."
"It's always great to see young minds interested in art." Stan said as he got closer.
"Oh, that's cool. Thanks Mr. Stan." Andre replied as he put his hand up for handshake.
Stan shook his hand. "Just call me Stan son. And shouldn't you boy's be going? It's a school night and getting pretty late."
"He's right." Miles scoffed. He grabbed hi stuff and put it in his bag. "Gotta go. See ya Andre. Later Stan."
Miles walked away leaving Stan and Andre alone.
Andre started packing his stuff as question came to his mind. "Hey... Stan why do you let kids paint in you building? I mean it's not that I'm not greatfull, but alot of people wouldn't do that."
"Mmmmhh... i guess it's cause it helps light up the place and keep your young minds more busy, insted of having your heads on theso phones all day. And out of trouble." Stan said.
Andre cracked a smile. "Yeah, i guess your right. Thanks."
"No problem kid. You can come here anytime." Stan said as he began walking away, but turned back. "And remeber one thing: "That person who helps others simply because it should or must be done, and because it is the right thing to do, is indeed without a doubt, a real superhero. well... Walk safe."
Stan left and Andre was alone abit confused by the mans words but a bit inspired.
He was gonna grab his last can which he left on a trashcan, but he bumped on it and it feel. Andre tried to reach for it and and stoped halfway through.
The can flew to his hand and he knew what this ment. His telekinesis had arrived.
He put the can on his backpack and ran out, super hiped.
Andre races down the street. As his phone rings.
"Come on Uncle Colin. Pick up. Pick up." Andre thought excitedly.
"Hello, it's Colin. I'm outta town for a few days. Hit you when I'm back. Peace." The phone message told as a voice with a British accent was heard.
Andre's thoughts raced as he ran.
"No nononono. It's not possible-" Andre
SCREEEEEEEEECCCHHH!
Andre races into the path of an oncoming car, but reflexes kick in and he vaults over it-
In an insane super-heroic leap that lands him twenty feet away. Amazed passersby cheered.
Andre continues on, more freaked out than excited now.
Running to midtown, Andre gasps seeing a giant green tentacle monster destroying everything in town.
"Ok, guess I'm going the other way!" Andre said turning his back.
But as soon as he did the sound of people screaming was heard.
"Ignore that, I'm sure the proper authorities can deal-
"AAAAAAAAHHHHHH!"
Screams were heard coming from the monster rampage, and as Andre walked away a voice came to his head. ""That person who helps others simply because it should or must be done, and because it is the right thing to do, is indeed without a doubt, a real superhero."
Andre sighs in rage. "Ok, now im hearing voices in my head. Ok, and a bit convenient."
Andre pulled up his hoodie to hide as much of his face as possible and ran to the monster with electricity on his fists.
Andre began throwing electrical blasts at it to try and get it's attention.
"Ok, i get it's attention and get it away from the people." Andre said when the monster turned to him.
He used his reflexes as the monster lashed a tentacle at him, he easily evaded every blow but was cough off guard by another tentacle and throw down.
Then when leaping over Andre and the monster, a individual drew a sword and sliced the tentacle off the monster saving Andre.
"Wow?" Andre said surprised as he saw woman a youn woman of great beauty. She had long ebony hair and beautiful sun-kissed skin. She had muscles on her muscles and a figure that any other girl would definitely kill to have. It was like she was an ancient statue carved by a god of pure perfection. She wore some slightly revealing armor with a blue skirt with stars, a red chest plate with a golden 'W' on her chest, just below her generous cleavage, golden shoulder pads, and silver bracelets. She had red armored boots and a golden tiara on her head and star earrings.
Andre couldn't help but stare in awe of this absolutely gorgeous woman before him. Iven do his life was in danger, then this newest arrival was beyond words, cause he had absolutely none.
"Go! Find someplace safe!" The armored girl calls out before turning towards the monster.
"Your... your... your..." Andre just stood there trying to say anything.
As the girl fought off the monster it picked up a car and threw it at her when suddenly an invisible force pulled her out of the way.
"Huh?" Looking she saw Andre looking down at her as he used his hands newly found telekinesis, he's surprised he controlled it so easly.
"Need a hand Wonder Woman?" Andre asks.
"Wonder Woman? I like that." The now called Wonder Woman nods.
Andre and Wonder Woman evade a tentacle strike from the monster.
"Less talking, we need to take this thing down." Andre said.
"Agreed. We must vanquish this horrid beast!" Wonder Woman declares as the two leaped at the monster.
Trying to crush the two of them with its tentacles the monster tries to keep up but Andre used his electricity to tie him up while Wonder Woman slashed all its tentacles off leaving it completely defenseless.
Taking out a lasso, Wonder Woman threw it completely tying up the monster and subduing it.
"Wow, she's pretty good." Andre smiles when Wonder Woman defeated the monster and held her sword in victory.
"Ha Ha! My first slain monster!" She smiles.
Walking over to it, Andre examined the monster carefully.
"I feel something tells me i should get used to this." Andre said scratching the back of his head.
"But bigger question is, were did you come from? Cause I'm sure it's not normal for monster's to run about, yet again this city ain't normal." Andre asks when Wonder Woman walks up to him.
"Thank you, my fellow hero. I am in your debt for helping me vanquish this monster." Wonder Woman bows.
"I'm not a hero, but thanks." Andre blushed as he lost a bit of control of his powers and tinny lightning sparked on his hands.
"Not a hero? But are you not a child of Zeus?" Wonder Woman asked.
"What?" Andre was a bit confused.
"You must be a child of Zeus or at leste his champion, you fight with his Symbol." Wonder Woman said.
"No, i think your confused here. I'm-" Andre was cut off as he heard sirens from the distance.
"Shoot! Gotta go!" Andre said running away.
"Strange one that champion of Zeus." Wonder Woman said confused before leaving to find more injustice.
(Later)
Andre safely arrived at the house and fell down to get some sleep as he was dead tired. "Made it." He sighed in relief as he closed his eyes.
BBBRRRRRIINNG!
But it was short lived as the clocked ringed for him to wake up.
"OH, C'MON!"
Andre was walking down the street barely keeping awake as he then heard the loudspeaker of a police car shout "Andre King! I see you, put your hands up. Just kidding, today is your lucky day for you get to carpool to school in a real life police vehicle!" Andre turned and saw a bald African American police officer with glasses smiling as he was standing by the open door of his police car.
Andre looked and saw the looks that people passing by were giving them. Andre then said hello worried to the police officer as someone was was getting out of the police car.
"C'mon dad, why do you have to embarrass like that?" Miles sighed from the open door. Miles explained that his dad Jefferson was taking him to school, and Miles saw him and thought about giving him a ride.
Miles got inside the car and Andre sitted next to him. "Andre, I am so sorry about this! I tried to talk dad out of doing this but he wouldn't listen!" Miles apologized.
"Its fine Miles, it must be so awesome having a cop for a dad!" Andre told his first friend in Metropolis. Miles gave him a look which asked if he was serious but Andre shrugged.
"So, got any plans for the weekend?" Miles asked.
"Your gonna have plenty of work on Saturday when you peel those stickers off." Jefferson said as he drive the car.
"You saw those?" Miles asked surprised. "I-i don't know if that was me, Dad." Miles said obviously lying.
"And the two from yesterday on Midtown." Jefferson said.
"Yeah... Those were me." Miles admitted in defeat.
The rest of the car drive is left in ockward silence.
Miles and Andre get out of the car and open the front door to get there backpacks.
Andre gave Miles his backpack then took his own. "Thanks for the ride Mr. Morales."
"Your welcome, stay out of truble. I love you, Miles." Jefferson says throught the rearview mirror.
"Yeah, I know, Dad. See yah." He said as he and Andre walked to the school.
"Woah, this place is huge," said Andre looking at the school.
"Yeah, it's alright, and it's got a lot of cool features," Said Miles as they saw a group of cheerleaders walking by.
"Nice, think im gonna like it here after all." Andre said.
As the boy's walked closer to the school Andre was looking around at the students and heard a girl say "I'm just saying, I don't see why I'm being punished for something I didn't do!"
Andre and Miles turned and saw a tall girl with short blonde hair wearing a navy blue motorcycle jacket with a blue t-shirt under it, red ripped jeans with a superman belt and a pair of darker red boots, but caught Andre off guard was the fact that she wasn't built dainty, no she had muscle and wasn't afraid to show it.
They didn't wanna be caught putting there noses where they shouldn't so they just turned around and keep walking.
As Andre walked through the hallways he began to notice some of the students that stood out to him. This school was a lot like his previous ones, all filled with teens doing the same things in the same similar way, but that didn't mean that some people hadn't caught his attention.
A girl of Hispanic descent was arguing with a young man about an emerald-colored ring.
She had caramel colored skin with long brown hair that reached past her elbows and covered her back. She wore a green beanie hat, circular earrings, a dark green shirt on top of a green dress with a long skirt. She had a slender body that kept her backside and chest aptly modest despite her real size.
Right in front of Andre and Miles, a beautiful amethyst-haired young woman was applying some makeup on her face. For a second Andre could've sworn that she made a lipstick appear in her hand while her mirror was levitating.
The beauty was wearing a white shirt under a black dress vest, a burgundy colored skirt, a pair of long knee socks and black short heel shoes. She was like a magical creation with good curves and elegance mixed into a real woman.
They continued to walk through the halls as Andre saw students talking to each other.
VR specs boy spoke up "Hey, guys, check out my new VR specs."
"The podcast called her the Wonder Woman." A Beanie girl said.
"She and some other guy took fown dome giant monster." A boy with glasses spoke.
"Geez! How many superheroes does Metropolis have?" A Mohawk girl said as she used her phone.
"Man, i can't believe I wasn't there to help." Miles sighed disappointed.
"Why would you wanna be on the same place as a monsters like that?" Andre asked.
Miles tried to answer but couldn't get anything to answer.
Later the two got in the classroom right on time since they had the same schedule.
Before Andre sat down at his desk, he saw a short African American girl with her hair in a pair of buns. She seemed to be working on somekind of electronic devices that caused a couple of sparks to fly.
The short girl wore a long puffy black and yellow sweater that covered almost her entire body. She wore a skirt over a pair of leggings as well as a pair of large boots. As soon as she saw Andre looking at her she sunk down into her sweater before putting all her stuff back into her backpack.
"Oh, I'm sorry I didn't want to disturb you-" Andre tried to apologise but then the teacher began the class. He focused on what the teacher was saying, but... he was getting bored by it. He looked down to his notebook and began drawing to pass the time. In his mind his first day was going so far so good.
After a couple of classes Andre went to the school's cafeteria. After getting his food tray he went to sit next to Miles an met his friend Ganke Lee. He later spotted the blond girl from earlier, but she shot him a glare which made him look somewhere else.
As he look the lunch, he caught some scattered chatter that caught his interest. They were talking about the young woman armed with a sword he helped and some even spoke about him.
The media as well as the public dubbed her "The Wonder Woman". But for some reason they didn't give him a name, he kinda wanted to see her again. He was even thinking about doing somekind of patrol after school. Who knows?
He began to eat an Apple, but soon the sound of laughter caught his attention.
"GET DOWN!" Miles screamed as he ducked them both.
A slice of pizza passed them. Andre then saw, oddly enough, the girls he's seen throughout the day exchange blows by throwing article's of food at one another.
"How did you see that coming?" Andre asked Miles.
Suddenly, a redheaded girl wearing a purple hoodie, black shorts, and white sneakers jumped onto one of the tables.
"FOOD FIGHT!" She shouted. At those words, all hell broke loose as food went flying everywhere in every direction. Tater tots flying, spaghetti splattering, and pizza sauce staining those unlucky enough to get hit by the projectile foods.
Andre tried to make his way through the battlefield as best he could, but still managed to get hit by a few stray meals. He jumped and moved towards the center of the cafeteria where the worst was happening.
Andre looked around and realised neither Miles or Ganke were around. He went looking for them under the fire. Of course he could've used his legacies to stop all of it, but he tried to keep his powers a secret so he wouldn't be confused with a mutant or something.
He managed to make it to the eye of the food storm where he found the blond girl and the other initial girls who started the food fight. However, just as he caught up to them, a voice yelled out over the chaos.
"I SAID ENOUGH!" The voice of the principal yelled angrily.
The entire room fell silent as only the girls continued fighting. Andre tried to pull the girls apart from one another but to no avail. Then the principal stomped before them, making them stop.
"YOU SIX, DETENTION! NOW!" screamed the principal with a red face.
The next thing Andre knew, was that he and the girls were being dragged to detention.
Andre sighed in silence, "You gotta be kidding me."
Hey there, this chapter was written by Me with the great help of qazse. We hope ya liked it.
