chapter 4
It was now the start of the next year at college. That meant new classes and such. Lion-o was looking forward to his new classes. He was doing well and he was in his third year of college as was Liosia his girlfriend who he had been dating for two years. Lion-o was hoping to ask her to marry him. He had been saving his money for it. He had been doing it for a long time. He was now looking for an engagement ring.
"Hello sir may I help you?" the jewelry store worker said.
"I am looking for a ring." Lion-o said.
"So you are going to as a girl to marry you?" he asked him.
"Yes I am and I hope she says yes," Lion-o said. He looked at all the rings and found the one he was looking for. It reminded him of why he fell in love with Liosia in the first place. He picked it out and paid for it.
"You chose a beautiful ring," the jewelry store worker said.
Lion-o was really nervous about proposing. He already asked Leonoch for his blessing which was given to him. Then he took Liosia out on a date. There was baseball game going on and he knew both he and her loved baseball. He asked the people at the ball park to show his proposal on the big screen. The game was about to start.
"Attention everyone watch the big screen for something special," the announcer said.
The screen showed Lion-o and Liosia. The screen said 'Liosia will you marry me?' Liosia turned and saw Lion-o showing her the ring. "Yes!" she said and hugged him. The crowd cheered. Then Lion-o slipped the ring on her finger. Then a player from the Thundera storms gave Lion-o and Liosia a baseball with heart drawn on it that 'congratulations.'
"Thank you," Lion-o said.
After the game Liosia called her parents and told them the good news. Lion-o called his parents and told them the same thing.
The planning for the wedding began. Lion-o and Liosia wanted to get married in July so they can have an outdoor wedding and barbecue. So the wedding planning had begun.
While the planning was going Lion-o and Liosia still had school. It kept them pretty busy. There was lot's to do. They had projects to finish and more. Life continued on as they worked on their homework, quizzes and tests.
Soon Thanksgiving break came and then they returned to college and continued to work. When winter break came along it started to get difficult. Lion-o and Liosia were becoming stressed with planning for the wedding. They were trying to make sure everything was in order. What to eat for dinner and what kind of cake to have. There had also been some arguments.
Even with the occasional yell session it was over real quick. But today Lion-o came to his parents all upset. "I don't know if the wedding is going to happen," Lion-o said.
"What do you mean?" Leona asked.
"I saw Liosia she seemed pretty secretive with another guy and I think she is cheating on me," Lion-o said.
"Lion-o there has to be another explanation." Leona said.
"Yeah," Claudus said.
Then Liosia came in with some box. "What is that a present from your new boyfriend?" Lion-o grouched.
"No, it's a present for you, that guy you saw me talking to is coming in now," Liosia said.
The young man came in. "Hi Lion-o I am Liosia's older brother Leon," he said.
"Oh that could explain why two looked kind of alike, I am sorry I got so mad," Lion-o said.
"I was talking to my brother to see what to get you as a wedding present." Liosia said.
"You were?" Lion-o asked.
"Yes, here it is," Liosia said.
Lion-o opened it, it was a new pocket watch, it was engraved. It said, 'I love you with all my heart forever and always.' Lion-o was all choked up. "Thank you Liosia this is a wonderful gift!" Lion-o said. "I am sorry I assumed the worse, I should have talked to you about it before jumping to conclusions can you forgive me?" he asked.
"Of course all is forgiven and forgotten," Liosia said.
"This is what I got for you," Lion-o said and showed her a lovely bracelet he bought for her. It was lovely it had a sapphire carved into heart in it and next to it was an emerald carved into a heart.
"It's our birthstones," Liosia said.
"Yes the emerald is me, and the sapphire is you," Lion-o said.
"It's so beautiful," Liosia said.
"My friend Tygra helped out, when I didn't know what to get you," Lion-o said.
Things continued and Liosia was soon picking out her wedding dress. Lion-o was there waiting to see along with his mother, father and Liosia's parents. Liosia tried on three different dresses but didn't feel too pretty then she tried on a jeweled ball gown with a halter top. Lion-o was in awe she just looked so beautiful in it. "I like it," Liosia said.
"You look so beautiful," Lion-o said.
"I choose this dress," Liosia said.
"Great," the lady said.
Lion-o was then fitted for a tuxedo. Liosia took her bridesmaids to choose dresses for them. Then Lion-o took his groomsmen to get their tuxedos. They picked out a Vanilla cake with raspberry filling.
Between college studies and wedding planning Lion-o and Liosia were pretty busy. Finally summer came and they could just focus on the wedding.
There was still much to do. They had to choose a venue, they had to find out what kinds of food to serve for dinner, what music to play, what to serve to drink, what kind of invitations and so much more. They picked July 12th to get married. That was going to be memorable.
The wedding was going to be held at local beach side resort. It was about to start the wind was calm and the sun was shining everything was nice and quiet. "Friends we are gathered here today to celebrate the union of Lion-o Roarson and Liosia Clawer." the preacher said. "Lion-o do you take Liosia as your lawfully wedded wife to have and to hold, in sickness and in health, for richer or for poorer, for better or for worse, for as long as you both shall live?" he asked.
"I do," Lion-o said.
"Liosia do you take Lion-o as your lawfully wedded husband to have and to hold, in sickness and in health, for richer or for poorer, for better or for worse, for as long as you both shall live?" the preacher asked.
"I do," Liosia said.
They placed the rings on.
"I now pronounce you husband and wife you may kiss the bride," the preacher said.
The cocktail hour began and everyone was talking and enjoying themselves and then it was time for the reception. Everyone was having a good time and soon Lion-o and Liosia got into their car and went on their honeymoon.
They went to Hawaii for their honeymoon and they were enjoying every minute of it. Soon it was time to go back because they had to finish college. But for now they were happy to be together forever.
To be continued.
