Hi! This is a Danny Phantom phic and because I am unfortunately not the embodiment of Nickelodeon, I do not own any of the characters (unless I make any OC's), just the plot! This will be a multichapter fic, so beware! It will probably be long!

I really hope you enjoy!

Walking home from the party has always been her least favorite part of Friday nights; even though she was kind of glad to be out of there.

It was the party celebrating the last day of junior year, and Dash's house had been disgustingly packed full of (drunk) people that would constantly bump into Paulina with their sweaty, disgusting bodies. She never stayed the night afterwards because she refused to let just anyone see her wake up looking messy in the morning. No- she would leave that intimate image up to everyone's imaginations. So, she and Star always stumble the short way back to her house late at night; luckily, she and Dash live in the same gated community.

In their neighborhood, all the houses are formed around the shape of an Omega and line the outside of a small lake that nobody ever swims in. Dash only lives a few doors down from Paulina, but because of the large size of the properties, the walk (trudge) is almost ten minutes.

"Holy shit! Did you see that?" Paulina snapped her head up to meet Star's line of vision, her hand pointed at the horizon.

"What? What was it?" Paulina hissed. She was quickly sobering up as she hadn't drank much, but her vision still swirled slightly.

"Just look!" Star's hand remained pointed steady toward the entrance of the gated community.

At first nothing happened. Paulina could only barely see the green park in front of the neighborhood- the light from the crescent moon did no favors. But then she saw it: a dim glow in the park, barely floating above the ground. The glow dipped and then teetered back up but dipped again before stumbling to the ground and lying there. In a belated moment of recognition, Paulina realized that glow wasn't an it-

It was a him.

It was, in fact, him!

She grabbed Star roughly and turned to her, "That's the ghost boy! We have to see him!"

"Do you think he's hurt?" Star asked, her eyes wide and her hands gripping Paulina's elbows.

Paulina held up a finger to hush her as they started stalking toward him… the ghost boy!

As they trekked closer, she could begin to hear him groaning and moaning- Yeah… Definitely hurt. The closer she got, the more of him she could see… and the picture was not pretty.

Of course- he was! The ghost boy was beautiful, incredibly handsome with those angular cheek bones and that defined jaw line… she assumed. It was always a little hard to see exactly what his face looked like with the soft glow emanating from his skin that always seemed to blur a ghost's features.

But either way, once they got to the edge of the park, Paulina could see he was looking… rough. He was panting and trying to get himself off the grass with one arm while the other was curled around his torso. A small trail of green ectoplasm glowed behind him, the source of the fluid seeming to be a large gash in his side. He was attempting to hold the skin together by clenching it with his other hand.

Paulina came to a standstill at the entrance of the park. She had never felt so in awe… or so turned on before in her entire life. There he was, lying, caked in dirt and other unnamable bodily fluids (that part was kind of really gross), yet he looked fucking delicious. Something about the whole scene made him look like somewhat of a bad boy even though he was the exact opposite of that in real life. No matter what he did, Paulina couldn't help but find him so goddamn hot.

Star stepped on a twig, but at this point the they were only about forty feet away. He must have heard the slight crunch, because for a moment he frantically looked around and disappeared from view just as suddenly.

"Ghost boy, come back! Please! We can help you!" Paulina shouted desperately. But she realized it was a lost cause when she felt a fast wind whip past her and Star just as she started to speak.

If the ghost boy had realized that it was Paulina who had found him so injured in the park, he would have stayed! She started to get teary-eyed at this moment; she lost her chance to bond with the ghost boy! She could have helped him dress his wounds while rubbing her hands up and down his abs and his beautiful, beautiful body. Even although Paulina had seen enough ectoplasm around Casper High and Amity Park to know that she really did not like it… The local ectobiologists said it was thinner than blood while in the ghost's body but started to slightly harden at the touch of air until it became goopy like molasses… overall, the stuff gave Paulina the creeps. But, of course, the ghost boy didn't!

"Paulina, I'm so sorry!" Star turned to her, almost as upset as she was. "This is all my fault! I'm so sorry! Please don't be mad at me!"

Paulina inhaled sharply and turned to look at Star in her big blue, watery eyes. "It's okay and I'm not mad. Let's just go home." That was a blatant lie. It was not okay, and Paulina was mad. Star had scared the ghost boy away before Paulina had the chance to show him who was there.

They turned back around and started trudging back toward the gated entrance of her neighborhood. Paulina entered the gate code and waited to be let in. The walk to get to her house was very short from the entrance, seeing as her mansion was the first on the left side of the circle.

"Oh my God… is that what I think it is?" Paulina looked down at the ground in front of her house to see what Star was pointing at.

"Oh my God! Do you think he was trying to find me?" Paulina's voice went impossibly high with excitement. On the ground right in front of her house was a dribble of dime-sized, viscous ectoplasm- almost fresh, still definitely from tonight!

"Oh my God, maybe!" Star said with excitement, "Let's go in and see if he's in there!"

Ω Ω Ω

That was last night.

And he was not in there. If the ghost boy was looking for Paulina, he did as really bad job, because now it's today and he is yet to show up. Star is already gone, she left earlier this morning because she had to "go to work" or whatever, and now Paulina is all alone and feeling pretty fucking dejected.

Clearly, the ghost boy had been looking for her; he was in her neighborhood, in front of her fucking house; but probably does not know exactly where she lives. The richest people of Amity Park all live in this neighborhood, so he probably figured out that she must live here based on all the time he spends at Casper High and the fact that, duh, she's fucking rich!

Besides, Paulina thinks to herself as she paces her bedroom, who else would he be looking for? The thought dissolves some of her annoyance. Unless he was looking for Dash- which he probably wasn't. Back in freshman year when he first started showing up, the ghost boy would always cast a few uncomfortable glances toward Dash whenever the student body got close enough to talk to him. Contrastingly, Paulina caught the ghost boy looking at her with something akin to cartoon heart eyes… but that stopped after a few months into freshman year, at which point he pretty much stopped looking at her except for the occasional steely glances when he looks around to make sure there is no present danger.

Paulina had already decided that the reason for his behavior is because he figured out how to control his emotions just so he doesn't get hurt in a ghost fight. He also probably stays away from her outside of ghost fights only because he doesn't want his enemies to come after her or hurt her. Paulina falls onto her bed with a sigh, he's so romantic and thoughtful…

What the ghost boy doesn't know is that Paulina isn't afraid of his enemies. She only screams extra loud when an enemy ghost is nearby in the chance that he will scoop her up in big strong arms, press her against his broad hard chest, and whisk her away to be saved.

Once during a ghost fight in the mall during sophomore year she even played dead. The other ghost had blown a chunk out of the wall and the ghost boy suddenly appeared to stop him. She was struck with one of her most brilliant ideas ever and quickly scrambled under a broken pillar to lie there for fifteen minutes while the battle raged on. Shew knew the fight was over when the ghost boy yelled, "Is everyone okay?" Which he always does… He's just so sweet…

At that point, she made her breathing as shallow as possible. She knew he noticed her when she heard him gasp and whisper a horrified, "Oh, shit!" Paulina had to hold in a giggle at his response. He was just so concerned… It was just so cute…

He sped over to her and immediately phased her out from under the rubble. He was holding her in his arms, bridal style. All Paulina could think of was, this is how he'll carry me at our wedding!

"Oh, thank God," he mumbled under his breath. "She's breathing, everyone!"

She heard some relieved sighs from other bystanders. She had been hoping to receive mouth to mouth resuscitation, but clearly based on his announcement, he did not find that necessary. She felt him begin to set her down on the tile and tell someone to call 911, so she decided to regain his attention.

"Hi!" she chirped as she suddenly opened her eyes.

"Fuck!" he yelped as he immediately dropped her on the floor.

He had clearly been startled; the love of his life was perfectly fine! Paulina sat up and wrapped her arms around him. "Thank you for saving me, ghost boy!"

As soon as everyone realized that she was fine, he sighed and disappeared, leaving her with nothing but a chill down her spine.

He thought that for some reason they couldn't be together.

He still thinks that for some reason they can't be together.

But they can be together! And they will.

She clenches her fist. Paulina decides at this moment that she has to find a way to communicate with him. She has to find a way to tell the ghost boy that she is not afraid to be with him. She knows he'll always save her!

Ω Ω Ω

It's been almost a month since the incident- the incident where Paulina spotted the ghost boy trying to find her house.

Since then, she's made some, uh, adjustments to her nighttime routine.

Every night around 10:00 PM Paulina sneaks out of her home to walk the neighborhood for a few hours in search of her specter. She would go later at night, but she needs her beauty sleep. She always brings a flashlight but usually leaves it turned off, because:

A) she can't afford to spook the ghost boy, and

B) it's harder to see the slight glow of ectoplasm with ambient light around.

But, she's not actually doing any of that right now because it's actually only 10:30 AM, and she is currently busy looking at footage from her new camera. She ordered it two weeks ago but it came in the mail just yesterday and she set it up on her balcony using a tripod last night. The camera overlooks the lake, and pretty much the whole circular neighborhood. While Paulina roams around the front of the houses, this camera can see the back of all the houses even at night. It's totally state-of-the-art! It's pretty small, but the resolution is amazing, and it even has night vision- it's exactly what Paulina needs.

She also even figured out how to stream footage from the camera right to her computer- as long as she has Wi-Fi. Paulina may not have the best grades in school, but when she sets her mind to something, she gets it.

Right now, the footage is pretty boring, so she speeds through it. The only interesting thing that happens is that at around 3:00 AM, in the mansion directly across from Paulina's, one of the second story lights turns on and remains on for about two hours. Otherwise, nothing.

Paulina has had no sighting of the ghost boy since the one almost a month ago and it's killing her! Maybe if it kills me a little more, I'll be able to spend the rest of my afterlife with him. She scrunches her nose at the thought. I'm not ready for that kind of commitment yet, she decides, I'll let him put a ring on it first.

Of course, she sees him on the news sometimes, but it's not the same. He's clearly not still looking for her, but if he gets severely injured like that again, maybe he'll look for her again! She has to keep going.

They can be together.

Ω Ω Ω

After another week, Paulina stops her nightly walks. She realizes she's not getting anywhere with those and that if he really needs her, he'll probably just intangibly float through the walls of her house to find her.

But she still keeps her camera outside surveying the night. She checks it every morning, but it's almost always the same; a few times a week the same light in the same room in the same house, across the lake from Paulina's, turns on very late at night, usually, for a little over an hour before turning off again. She can see the light peaking around the thick black curtains that cover the window.

Obviously, other lights in the other houses turn on very late at night as well, but only for a few minutes or less. And sometimes, the light in that one house will only turn on for about thirty minutes to an hour before being turned off. Still… Paulina muses, it's just a weird schedule to be on.

Paulina's heart stops at what she sees.

She pauses the video. At 2:53 AM a faint light appears in front of the window. The window on the house! As she resumes it, now zoomed in on the sight and no longer speeding through, she can even see the glowing mass flicker into a translucent image of some sapient creature, before it passes through the wall into the room. Paulina sits holding her breath as she watches the light turn on just a moment later.

She sits totally still at her desk for one hour and twenty-seven minutes watching the outside of the mansion before the light turns off again.

The creature doesn't come back out.

He doesn't come back out.

Paulina almost feels faint, she's so excited. It's the ghost boy. She knows for a fact it's him!

And she just found his haunt!

And it's the biggest mansion in her neighborhood, which is located directly across from her bedroom!

Paulina smiles wide. She doesn't need the ghost boy to find her when she just found him!
