The last one!
Recap: Alexandria prepared themselves for battle against The Whisperers. Negan came through and told Daryl where the Whisperers were coming through to Alexandria giving them the chance to fight back. The Whisperers came to Alexandria and Negan teamed up with Daryl to fight Beta and they eventually killed him.
This is the very last chapter of this story. Huge thank you to everyone who has supported me through this story, it means the world to me and I appreciate it so much. I have loved seeing this different side to Daryl and I have loved seeing the character ark for Anne-Marie.
I hope that you are all very comfortable because this is going to be a VERY long chapter, nothing less than 5000 words for this chapter. We are going to see Alpha take the lead with her walker horde and we're going to see what happens to Alpha at the end. We're also going to take a look at what happens to Daryl, Anne-Marie, Carol, Negan, Judith, Lydia, RJ, Dog and all of our other favourite characters of this story.

Four Roses: Chapter 15: Phase 2
Anne-Marie
I watched as Daryl stabbed Beta in the head and finally killed him and I couldn't help but let out a sigh of relief, the other Whisperers all stopped and watched as their second in command had fallen in battle and they all looked uneasy. Beta wasn't easy to kill and if we could kill him then surely we could kill them, I could see that some of them wanted to turn back around and go back through the tunnel to escape but they wouldn't get the chance, we had kept the fight pretty much contained to one area and the graveyard was now blocked off to anyone wanting to leave.
The Whisperers knew there was only one option for them now. Die or surrender.
"Kill them,"
"Get them,"
"Avenge Beta,"
"Alpha is coming."
The Whisperers were... well whispering to each other... they were trying to scare us but it wasn't working. After the defeat of Beta it just made us feel all the stronger, we were going to win this and we were going to them down.
The Whisperers regained themselves and armed themselves once more, we got this.
The battled resumed.
Whisperers were coming at me from left, right and centre but although I was exhausted from the first part of the fight I was still quicker than they were. I was trying to get to Daryl and help him and make sure he was ok, I know he got hurt whilst fighting Beta but the stupid Whisperers kept getting in my way. I was fighting through them as if I was trying to fight through a corn field or something.
A pain in my leg made me fall to the ground. A Whisperer had cut the back of my thigh and in my fall I had dropped my knife meaning I was now defenceless, the Whisperer came to stand over me with a large metal pole in his hand and was about to cave my head in, I moved my head to the left and he lost his footing so I pulled him down to the ground next to me and we fought. He was stronger than I was but I was more determined to live.
"Annie!" I heard Daryl call but I couldn't force myself to face him, I couldn't give The Whisperer any room to get the upper hand "Annie!" Daryl called again, the Whisperer dropped the metal pole and his hands found their way to my neck and he started squeezing. I clawed at his hands but he wouldn't let me go, I could feel the air leaving my lungs and my lungs burning, trying to get more air.
The Whisperer was suddenly off me, I took a big gulp of air but it just made me cough. I tried calling Daryl but I couldn't speak, I was just coughing and trying to get my breath back. Daryl had the Whisperer on the floor and was beating the shit out of him; he grabbed the walkers head and started slamming it into the floor until I heard the undeniable sound of his head cracking open. Daryl had a knife in his hand and stabbed the Whisperer in the side of the head.
Daryl rushed over to me and helped me sit up.
"Are you ok?" He asked in panic.
"Fine," I breathed out.
"Where're hurt?" He asked.
"He got the back of my thigh but I'm ok... I can still fight," I stated and stood up, Daryl had hold of my arm to help but I was truthful, I was fine.
"Maybe go t' Rosita and the kids," He suggested.
I picked up my knife from the floor and smiled at him "I'm good." I promised.
Three Whisperers came at us but I killed one instantly, Daryl killed another and the third one was aiming for me thinking I was the easier target as I was injured and smaller. Daryl was going to help but another two came for him.
The Whisperer swung something at me, I didn't see what, and he missed but only just. I lunged and got him to the floor, I stood over him and brought my knife down on his head and killed him.
I heard the sound of a body dropping behind me and saw that another Whisperer was about to stab me in the back as I killed her Whisperer buddy but Carol stood there with a bloody knife in my hand. She had killed The Whisperer and protected me; I smiled in thanks at her.
I looked around and saw four Whisperers left.
"Keep 'em alive," Daryl ordered.
Jerry grabbed hold of one and put him on his knees, I grabbed one and did the same, Carol grabbed one and Negan grabbed hold of one.
"Ezekiel and I will check on the walls," Gabriel stated and walked off with Ezekiel.
"Where's the horde?" Carol asked but no one spoke. The man Carol had on his knees yelled out in pain as Carol stabbed him in the shoulder "Where is the horde?" She asked again.
"She's coming," One stated.
"How long?" Negan asked.
None of them spoke.
"Daryl! The front gate!" Ezekiel called as he came running towards us.
"Kill them," Daryl ordered and we did as we were told, killed all four Whisperers.
"Alpha is here with her horde." Ezekiel stated.
We all rushed to the front gate where I saw a woman, a bald woman, standing at the gate and behind her there was another 50 Whisperers but the biggest worry was the large horde of around 2000 walkers coming this way. I'm assuming the woman at the front was Alpha... this was a bigger horde than I was expecting.
"Expectin' the gate t' be open?" Daryl asked her with a smug look on her face.
"Somethin' 'bout them dyin' in a graveyard like that is just so poetic," I jumped in.
Alpha's face turned as she realised that the Whisperers she sent here were dead.
"Now it's your turn, bitch," Carol said and walked up to the gate.
Daryl grabbed hold of her arm and pulled her back slightly, the walkers were nearly at the gate and they would take it down. Daryl's plan to blow them up is good and still standing but I think we might need a bigger explosion, we wasn't prepared for this many walkers.
"Where is she?" Alpha asked, she had a real deep southern accent, a bit like Daryl.
"Safe," Daryl replied.
"She hidin'?" Alpha asked.
"I'm right here momma," we all turned around and saw Lydia standing there with Dog by her side, Dog was in fight mode and standing protectively in front of Lydia, ready to kill and die for her "You gotta go momma," Lydia told her mother.
"She's alive?" A Whisperer behind Alpha asked in shock.
"Open the gate," Daryl said and everyone was stunned into silence "Open the gate," He repeated.
The main gate opened and Alpha walked in with The Whisperers behind her. The gate was closed as the walkers started getting too close. I don't know what Daryl is planning but we need to take care of the walkers, they could take down that gate any minute. The walkers were clawing at the gate trying to get at us, snarling and ripping their on skin off trying to get in.
"The walkers." I said to Daryl.
"Light 'em up!" He called out.
The spotters in the trees just outside the gate started throwing gasoline bottles into the horde and then sticks set on fire were thrown down too, the horde went up in flames instantly. They didn't care and carried on trying to get in the gate to eat us, there really was nothing left in their brains except to eat and kill... I've never seen walkers like this before.
"Yer got two choices," Daryl said to The Whisperers "Leave, survive out there on yer own or die here next t' her," He told them but none of them said anything "We've just killed the other group of Whisperers that came in here... includin' Beta... we'll kill you all t'," He added.
"We stand with Alpha," One said.
Daryl nodded to the people on the walls that had bow and arrows; they shot into the Whisperers and started killing them. One of them came at me to try and kill me before we killed him but I saw him, I was slow because of the wound on my thigh but I wasn't slow enough to dodge him and stab him in the stomach with my knife. He dropped to the ground but tried pulling me down with him, I kicked at his head and then stamped on it until his eyes closed. Knowing he probably wasn't dead yet, I stabbed him in the head.
I looked up towards Daryl and saw him fighting off two Whisperers but he was winning. I looked for Lydia and saw Alpha going towards her. Dog jumped forward, growling and showing Alpha his teeth, warning her to stay away. She went to swing something at Dog but he latched onto her arm and started dragging her all over the place. She dropped a knife and tried pulling her arm out of Dog's mouth but he was firmly on her.
"Dog," Lydia called.
Dog let go and went back to Lydia's side, still growling and baring his teeth at Alpha. I rushed over to Lydia and stood in front of her, Carol appeared too and stood side by side with me.
"Keep away from her," I warned.
"You and me... one on one," Carol said to Alpha.
"Yer think I'm scared of death?" She asked us, smiling like someone on crack "I welcome it and allow it to overcome me so I can start my next journey," She said.
"Then you won't mind." Carol replied.
Carol slashed at Alpha's throat and Alpha dropped to the ground. She wasn't dead yet, she was looking at Carol in surprise, sort of. Lydia didn't make a sound, she just looked at her mother bleeding out on the ground and I saw no emotion on her face. I don't know what she's feeling about this, is she happy her mother is dying? Is she heartbroken? Does she wish she done it herself?
I noticed it wasn't just Lydia who was silent but everyone else was too. The only sound I could hear was the fire on the other side of the gates crackling away. The walkers were all pretty much dead now, apart from a couple but they would be dead soon enough. All of The Whisperers were dead and lying on the ground, blood all over the pavement.
Are they all really dead?
What a night!
After finally defeating The Whisperers and Alpha, we all wanted to do nothing more than rest and eat but we had a big clean up on our hands. We had bodies all over the place and blood everywhere so we started the clean up... I say 'clean up' all we did was dump the bodies of The Whisperers in the grave they had come through and seal it up properly, Negan knew where the entrance was so tomorrow Daryl and me were gonna go find it and seal it up permanently so no one else could use it to get into Alexandria.
Alpha was a evil, cold, murdering bitch but she was still Lydia's mother so we gave her, her own grave but it was by the wall out of the way of Alexandria's loved ones and it wasn't marked. Daryl wanted somewhere for Lydia to go and see/speak/think about her mother if she ever wanted to and a mass grave wasn't the place for that. Lydia appreciated it but she didn't say much more on the matter. I had been trying to figure out what she was feeling but she's closed herself off slightly; no outbursts, no tears, and no emotions shown. I'm sure she feels something but she might be confused of her feelings because of Alpha being her mother but she was also her abuser and the woman who killed Henry and many other people.
The sun was starting to rise as Daryl and I placed the last bit of soil over the mass grave of all The Whisperers. There was another team dealing with the burnt walkers at the gates, the plan was to move the bodies and dump them somewhere else. Daryl thought that if we put them close to here it might deter other people wanting to hurt us but I argued that; we didn't want them scaring away people who are genuinely looking for somewhere safe. He agreed we needed more people so he told them to dump them somewhere away from here.
"How're doin'?" Daryl asked as I sat down on the grass.
"I'm fine," I answered but I know he meant my injury.
After the fight was done with Carol had stitched and bandaged it up for me. It was as deep as I thought it was but it still needed some stitches.
"I shoulda made yer stay with Lydia," He stated as he sat down next to me.
"Why? You got hurt but I know yer place was up here an' not down there," I told him.
"I jus' don't like yer bein' hurt," He stated.
"You think I like it when you get hurt?" I questioned.
"Nah, guess not," He replied.
"I guess now that we're done buryin'; we can go back t' the house, drink some Four Roses an' I'll show ya how 'fine' I am," I got up and held my hand out to Daryl.
"Yes ma'am." He answered smiling.
The End.
Thank you for reading and sticking with it through this story. I hope you have all enjoyed it and I hope that you will get the chance to read my other stories. I will apologise for anyone who didn't like the fighting scenes in this story, I have to admit that I do not find them all that easy to write and I do struggle with them but I hope I did it justice and made it believable to our characters and our show.
Please do follow, favourite and review!
I hope to see you all soon.
