I got this story idea while watch killing bites season one, and I have to say the ending where Himoto tried to kill Nomoto made no sense until I realised that to her only two people that really mattered her and Shidou...everyone else is secondary and while she would prefer not to kill people who have her friendship as Nomoto has proved it will not stop her.

I had originally planned on having my character make her stronger, however with her mindlessly killing Nomoto that changed. I mean she didn't even ask for a reason he had to die, she "didn't know why" Shidou wanted Nomoto dead, personally I think it was because he saw that Himoto could become loyal to Nomoto as well and didn't want that to happen.

Also, there will be lion bashing, because quite simply lions such, its the lioness that is awsome. Anyone watched lion king do you remember that cool roar, well guess what...that's a tigers roar, a lion roar sound like a groan.

Story Start

Throughout life, one makes choices that will shape their future, both their actions and inactions come with rewards and consequences as they live their lives. Perhaps this is what makes betrayal so frowned upon, to do so means casting away who they were before, any choices that they made previously are rendered meaningless as they take a completely different direction. Perhaps if Himoto had fully considered this she would have made a different choice, because when you betray someone...you'd better make sure they die in the process.

Local Junkyard

"There you are at last...Callum!" asked a figure standing on top of the wrecked shell of a car

"Hitomi, I haven't seen you in two weeks. I was starting to get worried something had happened." I responded

"Nah, I'm fine. My wounds are still healing, but I'll be back to a 100% in no time." assured Hitomi

"So what have you brought me here for?" I ask

"I brought you here for...um how can I say this?" struggled Hitomi

"I think I can understand...it has been fun hanging with you too." I answer "I've also come to understand what you mean by 'sharpest fangs win' is your way of saying the most determined wins."

"Uh? What are you talking about?" hopping down from the car Hitomi approaches me

"Oh is it literally just talking about how sharp your teeth are?" I ask

"Your a strange one Callum, no matter how much I threatened you not once did you back down. And throughout all of it you stayed with me to the very end, not once did you try to run. So thanks for everything...Callum"

With that, a furred and clawed hand darted out and slashed up and down my chest multiple times ripping through it.

"I'm sorry Callum, I don't know why but...Shidoh ordered me to kill you. He told me you were in the way of his future plans...and me. But the time we spent together I too f-..oh you can't hear me anymore, can you?...Farwell Callum." said Hitomi as she left

With that, all that was in the junkyard was a slowly cooling body of someone Hitomi once called a friend.

"So she actually did it, I know you told me that she was always ordered to kill you, but I thought that our time together would..." said a mysterious new voice from the shadows

With that, the 'copse' got to his feet "It was never any question, the hold Shido has over her is too great...and he wants to keep it that way which is why he wanted me dead. To him, the only threat I could pose is that one day Hitomi would listen to me over him, if she hated me and never once listened to me I am sure he wouldn't have cared if I lived or died."

"But what if you took her under your wing like you did with me?" asked the voice

"She would have immediately told Shido. At the start there were only two people that she cared about, herself and Shido, while she did make other friends they were always 'second' rate to her and Shido. The only reason she spared anyone at all is because Shidoh thought it was a good thing to do and while she did become a better person, you can see she has no problem going back to the person she was. She might never have had my trust...but she had my friendship, which she chose to betray." I said with conviction

"So what will we do now?"

"Shidoh is an arrogant, tyrant, megalomanic asshole that doesn't know about the damage he is doing or simply doesn't care...I mean unless they are the same hybrid a couple will not be able to procreate. This, combined with the fact he doesn't care if certain individuals like Leo and that snake bastard use their power to hurt others, reveals his true nature."

"What do you mean we can't procreate!" Shrieked the voice

"Relax Ui, I have started to look into it, and I am confident that I will at least be to make something that will allow a temporary override on a couples DNA and allow the women to get pregnant, though they will always give birth to the same hybrid species they are." I reassured

"Oh, that's a relief!" said a now revealed Ui as she steps out of the shadows, ears twitching for the sound of anyone nearby "But what happens now?"

"Simple, Shidoh tried to have me killed, and with the kind of person, he is he cannot be allowed to remain in power. However, if we simply killed him his lab assistant or whoever will just keep doing what he is now, in order actually fix anything we need to take everything from him, his power, his research and any resources he has which includes taking out his investors. However, to do it properly will take the next two years at least even with the allies I've made...so until then you should use your champion status to help things along and cement your position of someone of importance." I informed

"It's hard to believe that so much has happened...that so much had changed." said Ui making me think on how it all started

One Dark Night

My name is Callum Maclean, and I am a Guardian of Humanity, for the last year I have been stranded in a parallel earth with no way of being able to get back until I find a way back I had gotten a job teaching environmental studies at a local university. While eventually, I will be able to get back, it will take time. My only solace is that I can only guess that time is passing differently for me much like it did for fail-safe and that when I finally make it back only a short amount of time will have passed.

As I am driving down the road in my Acr Stryker car that I had imported from Australia, I notice a girl jump out in front of me, a girl wearing only a white tank top and white panties, slamming on the breaks I come to a dead stop.

"Shit are okay?! I ask concerned

Without answering, she opens the passager door and hops in.

"Drive." came her simple order

"...excuse me?"

"Listen I am already late because some idiot crashed his van so you can either drive...or I'll kill you."

Putting the car back in gear I drive away, following her directions.

'What are you doing? You know that she is no threat to you.' asked Caspar mentally

'I'm bored and to be honest, this could be interesting.' I mentally answer

Sometime later we had arrived at what looked like a junkyard, as I looked around she pulled a phone out from...somewhere and made a call.

"Yeah, I'm here Shidoh-san. There were some complications though, my first ride crashed...no don't worry the pervert saw nothing but I had to hitch a ride with another idiot."

It's at this point I notice all the dead and decomposing bodies that are lying around. 'I think its time to find out what's going on around here.'

"Yeah, he is with my right now." Lowering the phone, she continues "So that you know around here is quite dangerous so don't even think of...where that guy go?" She asked confused where guy in question went

The guy in question had made his way up to the top of the cars.

"Hmm, an odd place to have a ring, wouldn't you agree?" I ask out loud

"It's the private land of some conglomerate, its also where things that have no use anymore or don't have anywhere to go wind up, both large trash and dead bodies. It's also for people like us." answered a stranger with a smirk

"I'm sorry, but you seem to be confused, I'm only here because a half-naked girl demanded a lift and I assume that is who you are here for." I informed

"So you aren't the hybrid I'm here to fight." said the mysterious man

"Hybrids?" I asked curiously

"A Hybrid is a being with the brains of a human and the fangs of a beast. With such a combination they can easily exceed the strength of man and the tactics of animals and are thus called Hybrids." he says proudly

"...That sounds like the most stupid and half-assed idea that belongs in a B-rated movie, I mean not does it sound incredibly dangerous, but what real benefits could you get from it? I understand some gene modding to be stronger a faster human but this seems like a step too far." I remark

"Stupid?...Half-assed?" the man asked angrily before suddenly transforming into a lion/man hybrid

"Oh shit...he's roiding out!" I joke

"Someone like you...a mere human without a hint of strength dares to call me stupid! Me the King of Kings! The Brute Leo! Someone like you...needs to know your place!" roared the now name Leo as he swung his poar down at me.

However, before I could show the steroid abusing lion cub who was really the strongest, the girl from earlier grabbed me by the neck of my shirt and jumped away.

'Hmmm...oh well, I guess it is for the best if I hide my power...judging from what Leo was talking the people behind the hybrids would probably try to capture me and use me for experiments. Not that they will be able to take be. But in this case, it is better to be safe than sorry.'

With that decided I sit back and watch the show.

"Hm, I was trying to help you take out the garbage." growled Leo

"I'm not done with him yet, and according to Mr Shidoh, the odds are a 100 to 0 against me. With such odds, the Killing Bites cannot start." said the still-unnamed girl

"Of course not, I am an undefeated champion with over a hundred wins under my belt and you. A rookie with not a single fight to her name let alone a win, a rookie like you" started Leo

"Yeah yeah, that's why we will make him place a bet on me winning. Ten million yen on me winning, with that the odds will be 99 to 1 on me winning."

"Oh and can he pay that?" asked Leo

"His body will be enough payment; he is young and fit. His internal organs, spin and eyes will more than cover the cost." the woman said smugly

'Yeah that's not going to happen, if you do end up losing I'm just going to kill him and then you if you are still alive.' I think to myself

'I thought you were going to try to hide your power?' asks Casper

'Yeah but that was before they started talking about cutting me up and selling me for parts.'

With the talking done Leo and the unnamed woman took up fighting positions and like Leo, the woman started to grow fur and claws but didn't muscle up nearly as much.

"The one with the sharper fangs wins its as simple as that. As I recall you said you were undefeated, King of Kings...that is quite the impressive nickname. I'd like one like it...how about the Leo killer?" mocked the woman

Leo's response? I quick swipe that sent her flying, followed by slamming her head into the ruined cars.

'How arrogant, not only could she have dodged that blow judging from her reactions but Leo is clearly holding back from using his full strength, and I usually would not have an issue with a veteran holding back to help a rookie grow, he is clearly not the person that would do it to help it out a rookie but to get more enjoyment from crushing them longer.

"Even if my prey is a little rabbit I don't hold back, that is how a lion fights!" Roared Leo as he pelted the woman with blow after blow

'One you are already holding back and two have you ever held a rabbit that wanted to get away from you? They can be vicious bastards.' I mentally comment

The woman finally manages to dodge out of the way and proceeds to dart away before suddenly spinning around on her heel to swipe at Leo, a swipe that he dodges effortlessly before responding with a punch. Instead of resisting the punch, she lets it push her back into a car that she uses to propel herself forward, placing her hand forward she volts over Leo's double hammer blow before doing a spin kick to his where is neck met his shoulder...to no effect.

Which was proven a second later when he grabbed that leg and started to slam her into anything that was nearby, before she swiped and made him let her go. It then started to come down to Leo's strength and the woman's speed as she would use the surrounding objects to propel herself away from Leo's heavy blows only to be hit when she tried to make her own return blow sending her into a pile of metal pipes, throwing some of them at Leo she distracts him enough to appear behind him attack at the ready which Leo meets with his own attack. A loud audible boom can be heard as their fists meet, in the end though Leo's attack proves to be superior as it sends the woman back."

'So far I don't see what all the hype is about, sure there a just a bit faster and stronger but they are letting their instincts take control instead of controlling them. What happened to 'the brains of a human' because all I see is the viciousness of the animal...no long term plan at all. The woman is far too confident in her abilities to withstand Leo's attacks and is letting attacks that she could otherwise dodge connect. While Leo is too sure that we will win this fight and is letting this fight drag on to enjoy himself. It has basically become who can punch the most and do the most roaring...either way, one of them will end up seriously injured and will only have their own arrogance to blame.'

Charging forward Leo tries to crush her skull between is two large paws, the woman is only narrowly able to raise her forearms to block the death blow. With a smirk, she manages to slightly push the paws back.

In response, Leo pulls back his paws and lets out a ferocious roar

'You see, right there is what I am talking about! A clearly thinking and reasonable person would have used their legs, head or their environment to take her out. Instead, he leaves him self open only to roar!?' I mentally say to Casper

'Head butting someone is the response of a reasonable person? I think you have been spending to much time with Saint-14.' responded Casper

'You know what I mean!' I rebuked

'Oh I do, and I also know that you felt it...that primal instinct to cower in fear.' responded Casper

'Yes, that weak urge to cower in fear, anyone that is not a newborn guardian or new to combat could have fought against it and probably over come it. I am just saying it is stupid to use a move that might not work instead of a move that will, I mean what if she had been deaf?'

As if to prove my point, the woman is completely unaffected by the roar, though she is still sent skidding back.

'See.' I think triumphantly

'I'm pretty sure she isn't deaf.' Casper responds

'Doesn't matter, Leo just took a huge risk making a move like that...makes it odd that he hasn't been defeated before if those are his tactics.'

Once more Leo charges, raining blow after blow upon the woman, not once noticing that his roar hasn't quite had the effect that it should have.

"You were foolish to challenge a King, now it is time you knew full fear!" roared Leo before suddenly stumbling back, with less fingers then he had a moment before

"You...who are you to not become crippled with fear by my almighty roar?" asked Leo

Before answering the woman spits out his fingers that she had bitten off. "Fear? I have never felt that emotion, fear is reserved only for the weak, and since I was born...I have not felt it once!"

"Lies, every animal feels fear. Especially when exposed to my Roaring Leo, your body should have stiffened in fear and instinctual dread and been unable to fight back. So tell me...what are you, what do they call you?" asked Leo

"Ratel, the Brute Ratel. So how about you remember the name of the one that's fighting you...stupid." the now identified Ratel said

'Honey Badger, so that is her hybrid. Judging from her behaviour, it makes perfect sense, though it also underlines how pointless it all is. The entire time her actions were dictated by instincts not by thought or by strategy, so I have to wonder...why not simply get a honey badger, make it more intelligent and bigger?' I ask myself

'Perhaps a better fighter or soldier is not the main goal but only a side venture and not the main purpose?' suggested Casper

'So basically we are either dealing with a person or organisation that is creating these hybrids for brutal fights or are creating them for an entirely different reason and are unable or unwilling to stop fights like this from occurring because the people wanting the fights are too powerful or they get something out of the fights like funding or research data...either way I'll have to stick around to find out more information to see how they should be dealt with.' I replied 'and seriously, who bites off fingers as a tatic? Anyway lets see what she does now.'
