Hey all! So sorry it took me so long! I didn't think it would but when I would have time I would have no muse and when I finally wanted to sit down and right, I had a thousand things come up and wasn't able to. But I'm here now, and here's the third chapter! Let me know what you think!

Chapter 3

Each zombie, werewolf, and human took turns checking in on their friend, hoping that she would wake up soon enough. The doctor said the sedative they gave her would probably keep her asleep for a few hours, maybe even a day or two. Her body had to recover and regain its strength before it would finally deem it necessary for her to wake up. A long recovery was in store for her, but they were ready for it.

It was Wyatt that they would have to force to go home, take a shower, and eat. He didn't want to leave her side, afraid of her waking up when he wasn't there. He was the first face she had seen back in the woods, and he wanted to make sure he was the first that saw her when she woke up. Willa had to drag him away from her, promising that she would be watched over by Bucky or Addison, and if she woke up, he would be the first one they called. Willa and Wynter stood guard to make sure Wyatt ate or slept, knowing if they didn't, he would ignore everything and go back. He had to take care of himself if he wanted to take care of Brooke. She would need him to be strong.

After the second day, life had to go back to normal. Zed and Eliza both had jobs that focused on Brooke's recovery, figuring out what the hunter was doing in Seabrook and why he had her. Bree and Bonzo had to back to the children's hospital, which was only a block away from the general hospital. Addison was still teaching, so she had to go back to school and teach her classes. That left the wolves and Bucky. Bucky would sit in the corner, doing his own work when he could, while Wyatt took his place beside her. The doctors said that it might take a while for her body to regain its strength and wake up, but she was stable and that she would wake on her own time.

Wyatt slid into the room a few hours later after being forced to take a shower and eat. Willa had helped him pack a bag for Brooke. Clothes that she could change into once she was awake. The doctors told them that once she awoke, if she was stable enough, then she could go home within the next day. He had no idea what to pack, so Willa decided to step up and try to help where she could. It wasn't hard.

He looked up at Bucky, who shrugged and went back to his work. Wyatt sighed, putting the duffel bag underneath his chair, and walking back over to her. The seat had been moved, meaning Bucky had been sitting there. He shifted it and sat back down, taking her hand into his and sighing. He wished she would wake up. It wasn't the same.

He heard Bucky sigh behind him, and the click on his laptop closing. "I just wish she would wake up. It's driving me insane, not knowing what's going on in that mind of hers." He spoke, walking over to Wyatt and standing on the other side of the bed. Wyatt looked up at Bucky, before sighing. He understood. He wanted to know what was going on. What she was feeling, but there was no way to know.

"Why don't you go get something to eat, Bucky? Get out of here for a moment?" Wyatt said softly, looking at the older boy. Bucky looked at him, before running a hand over his face. He knew Wyatt was right, he needed some time away. He watched Wyatt for a minute, as his gaze went right back to her, holding her hand in his. He smiled weakly.

"You're good for her Wyatt. Even when we all thought she was dead, you never stopped looking. I'm glad that she has someone like you." He spoke to the werewolf. Wyatt looked over at him and smiled softly. "Thank you." He said softly to him. Bucky and Wyatt had always had a quiet feud. Wyatt was a werewolf and in love with his little sister, and even when Bucky slowly got over the fact that integration was happening, he didn't like the idea of his sister dating a werewolf. But he knew she was in love with Wyatt, and he couldn't keep that from her.

Bucky nodded, before turning and walking out of the room. He took one last look at her, before sighing and disappearing down the hall. Willa stood from her perch on the bench outside of the hallway, looking at him, and smiled softly. Bucky smiled, before heading down the hall as she sat back down, leaving Wyatt in the room with her.

Wyatt sat there and listened to the heart monitor, the constant beeping boring a hole into his brain. He sighed, looking at her. "Hey, Brooke. I brought you a few things." He said softly, unzipping the bag and rifling past the clothes. "The doctor said a few familiar things might bring you out of your sleep stage. I don't know how that works, then again I'm not used to modern medicine just yet." He felt stupid, speaking to no one in particular, but the doctor said that she could probably hear him, and he knew he had to try anything. He pulled the silver fuzzy blanket from the bag, the one with gold stars dotted across it. It was a blanket she had bought when she had gotten her apartment because it reminded her of the night sky. He chuckled at the idea but was flattered that she was starting to enjoy a lot of things he did. He stretched the blanket out across her body, over the white sheets and the bandages covering her body. He didn't tuck it in, just let it rest against her body.

He then rifled through the bag and chuckled, pulling the stuffed brown wolf toy from her bag. He smirked at the familiar thing. It was just a toy, but to her it was everything.

"So this is supposed to be fun?" Willa spoke beside her brother and friends, watching the colorful lights in the sky and hearing the obnoxious screams and noises that came with it. The others couldn't help but laugh at the confused looks they were receiving.

"Yeah, it's a carnival. It's supposed to be fun." Zed spoke from beside his friends, who were smiling.

"It's just a little festival of games, food, and rides. The rides are pretty scary." Addison stated.

"But that's what makes them fun. Quick tip, food after the rides. You don't want to get sick." Zed added, quickly taking Addison's hand in his. The werewolves looked at the zombie like he was crazy, before looking at the carnival in front of them. "It does look like fun," Wynter said with a shrug. Willa rolled her eyes, before looking over at her brother. Wyatt raised an eyebrow at Willa, before smiling. "It's worth the risk." He added.

"It's the least Seabrook High can do for us seniors." Addison teased as she walked in with Zed, Willa following behind them. Wynter tagged along with Bree and Bonzo and a few of the other werewolves. Wyatt chuckled, shoving his hands into his pockets, and turning to look at Brooke, who stood beside him.

"Alright, little pup. Show me the ropes." He joked. Brooke rolled his eyes, before taking his hand in hers and heading into the carnival.

Soon the confusion turned into fun. They had managed to get Willa onto a few rides and earned a smile from her. Wynter fell in love with the food, as well as Wyatt. This was different than the food they had grown up with. This was deep-fried and stuffed with who knows what. But the werewolves began to fall in love with it.

Wyatt rolled his eyes at Brooke as she bragged about winning them over, a slushie secured in her hand and the other holding his. "Alright, alright. You won me over, challenge over. You won." He teased her, bumping her playfully and kissing the side of her head. She couldn't help but giggle, squeezing his hand. "Let me have my moment. I don't get to brag a lot." She joked, grinning as she watched him.

He chuckled and continued to walk through the carnival. "Who knew we would be graduating in a few days? It seems like we just started." Brooke stated as they walked. She was right. It seemed like it was only yesterday they came bursting into the high school to find the Great Alpha. And now they were graduating and becoming full-fledge adults, zombies, and werewolves. He smiled softly and looked at her before frowning.

"Hey." Brooke was pulled out of her trance as he stopped her. "What's wrong?" She hadn't realized she had been upset, or even thinking that hard. She took a breath and shrugged. "It's just, what's going to happen to all of us once we graduate? Are we going to stay friends? Or is all this just going to be the end of the story?" She asked, looking at him. Wyatt frowned, watching her demeanor change in a minute. He hated seeing her upset, it wasn't something he ever wanted to see on her face.

"I know one thing." He placed his hand under her chin, raising her head to look at him. "This isn't the end of the story for us. And you know that." He said softly. "And you know Zed and Addison and the others are not just going to up and forget you. We're too close of a pack to just up and leave." He reassured the girl, trying to make her look on the bright side. "Now stop worrying little pup, it doesn't look good on you." He said, kissing her forehead. Brooke blushed and rolled her eyes, but he was right. She knew they wouldn't just drift apart, Addison and she were cousins, like sisters, it wouldn't be that easy to get rid of her, or anyone of their pack.

She smiled brightly to Wyatt, before moving to throw her drink away at the trash can. Her eyes looked up at one of the game tents and grinned. "Look." She said, pointing to the brown wolf plush hanging from the wall. Wyatt looked at it and rolled his eyes. "Come on, let's try to win it." She said, pulling him over to the booth. Wyatt raised an eyebrow. "Win?"

"Yeah. You see. You give the man a ticket." She handed one of the tickets over to the man running the booth, who then gave her five rings. "And then you try to get the rings onto the middle bottle. If you get that, you can pick a prize." She explained, through her rings to try and get them on the bottle in the middle. She frowned when the last one fell, crossing her arms.

Wyatt watched her, before handing a ticket over and taking the rings. He tried the first time with no luck, and then the second time. The third, then the forth.

After the fifth ticket and the twenty-fifth ring, he finally got one ring in the middle. He took the brown wolf plush from the man and grinned, fangs poking out as he handed it over to Brooke. Brooke giggled, taking the plush and hugging it to her. "Looks just like you." She teased.

"No, it does not." He retorted, laughing before jumping when she kissed him softly. "I love him. Thank you, Wyatt, for trying." She explained. Wyatt grinned, before hugging the shorter girl to him, kissing the side of her head. "Anything for my pup." He teased.

Wyatt chuckled at the little wolf, it was still brand new and perfect. "You loved this little thing, and it sat on your bed for who knows how long." He said with a smirk, before moving over and placing the stuffed wolf under her arm, placing her hand on it, and smiling. He then sat back down, taking her other hand into his and sighing.

"I miss you, Brooke. I need to know what happened. Why you disappeared years ago. I never stopped looking for you, and I need you to know that I'm here for you. I'm not leaving your side any time soon and I want you to know that. Please, let me know you're here or something." He exclaimed, running a hand through his hair, and looking over at her. He needed her to wake up. He missed her. He wanted to know what was going on in her mind and what had happened to her. She had looked so scared, so petrified of what was happening and he needed to know why. He swallowed thickly, angry tears pricking at the corner of his eyes, placing his head on the side of the mattress.

The heart monitor beeped louder than normal, before going back to its normal sound, so quick Wyatt hadn't noticed. The hand holding the stuffed wolf twitched, encountering the soft fur. It moved slowly against the fur, before going still.

She could hear something beeping near her head, loud and obnoxious. Then there was a loud pounding sound, hitting something hard. She could feel something pulling at her nose and arm, as well as something scratchy against her skin. What was going on? Why couldn't she move? What was blowing air into her nose? Wake up, Brooke. Wake up.

Slowly, bright blue eyes began to open. It was slow at first, the first thing being bright light that had her closing her eyes again, but soon she began to open them again, wider this time, her surroundings blurry but slowly coming into view.

Four walls surrounded her, one full of windows where rain was pounding against the panes, thunder crashing ever so gently. Opposite wall sat a doorway, door slightly ajar, and a small window that led into the hallway. There was a TV perched on the wall across from her, turned off, and in the corner was a small bathroom. The annoying beep noise was the heart monitor beside her bed. The scratchiness was from the bandages surrounding her, and the air in her nose was oxygen.

Her eyes turned to her hand holding the stuffed wolf, her fingers slowly prying at the soft fur. She remembered that wolf, Wyatt had won it at the carnival for her. She loved it. Her eyes then moved toward the blanket covering the hospital blanket. That was a blanket she had found, that represented the night sky. As her eyes turned toward the figure holding her hand, her breath hitched.

Wyatt was sitting there, holding her hand, his head pressed against the mattress. His claws gently scratched at her skin, caressing it. He was here. Everything that happened wasn't a lie. She hadn't been dreaming. He was here, beside her.

Which meant she was in the hospital, in Seabrook. After Darrel had pointed the gun at Wyatt, she thought it was over, then both their bodies fell, falling into a ravine, and then nothing. She couldn't remember anything after that. Gosh, she felt terrible.

One thing was for sure, she had to let Wyatt know she was here. She tried to form his name and speak it, but it wouldn't come out. She tried again, but it was a hoarse whisper, barely loud enough for him to hear. So, she had to try something different.

She looked down at their hands, and slowly moved her hand in his. It hurt, like her body wasn't used to moving anymore, but she had to try.

Wyatt hadn't heard anything, but something felt odd in his hand holding hers. He could have been imagining it like he thought she was moving. But something told him to look up and he did.

And she was awake.

"Brooke." Her name came out in a relieved gasp, almost as if he didn't believe that she was awake. It was all a dream, it had to be. But it wasn't. He hadn't fallen asleep. She was here, and she was awake. He stood up quickly, knocking the chair back. It startled Brooke, and she closed her eyes quickly, her body beginning to tremble. "Hey, hey. It's okay." He said quickly, trying to soothe her, giving off a calming vibe for her to catch. She was still trembling, but her eyes then opened.

"Wyatt? You okay?" Wynter poked her head in the doorway. They had been taking turns watching out for Brooke and Wyatt recently. Her eyes widened when she saw Wyatt standing up, and Brooke's eyes landed on her. She held back the gasp.

"Wynter? Grab the doctor?" Wyatt asked quickly, looking over at Wynter. Wynter nodded, before disappearing down the hallway to find a nurse or somebody. She was awake.

Brooke's eyes were wide, watching the other werewolf run off. "Hey." She looked over at Wyatt, swallowing thickly. "It's okay. Wynter's just going to get the doctor so he can check and make sure you're okay. You remember Wynter, right?" He asked. He would be devastated if she couldn't remember anyone. But slowly she nodded. He smiled, before frowning when she opened her mouth to say something and nothing came out. "Would you like some water?" He asked, taking the bottle he had snagged from Addison's house and unscrewing the cap. He watched as she tried to raise her hands to grab it but failed. "It's okay. Let me help you, okay?" He asked softly. She looked at him, before nodding gently. He smiled, before slowly placing the lip of the bottle to her lips, his other hand moving to the back of her head. He pulled his hand back when she jumped, not used to the touch but she began to take the water. After a moment he pulled back and she coughed, wincing at the pain. She then looked at him.

"Wyatt?" She asked softly. Wyatt grinned, nodding. "Seabrook?"

"Yeah, yeah, you're in Seabrook, little pup. You're home now. Everything's okay." He said with a smile. He wasn't letting her out of his sights ever again. She wasn't getting away that easily. He wanted to kiss her but knew it would be pushing it. If the touch of his hand had her jumping, who knew what would happen if he kissed her.

Which led to the question; had something happened to her to have her jumping at the slightest touch? What had they done to her? It set his fangs on edge, but he had to be strong. He had to be here for her.

The doctor knocked on the door, smiling to Wynter before smiling over at Brooke and Wyatt. "Well, looks like you're awake. It's good to see you." He said with a smile as a nurse walked in. Wyatt moved to step back, to let the doctor do his job, but her grip on his hand tightened and he stopped. He frowned, looking at her. She looked terrified.

"Hey." He said softly, making her look to him. "The doctor has to check on you, okay, but I have to stay out of his way. I'll be right here, okay?" He soothed, looking at her. Brooke frowned, before slowly letting his hand go. He moved to the corner of the room, still watching her as she never took her eyes off him.

They were in for a long recovery.
