Prologue
"Tell me the story again please?" A child's voice asked
"Have you not heard this story a thousand times? Wouldn't you like a new story?" An old man asked the child with amusement
"No way! I want to hear it a thousand and one times!" The boy chirped
The old man laughed at the answer the boy supplied. With a grin and nod he led the boy to his bed and tucked him in. "Very well young knight. You shall have your story…."
Once upon a time, there was a great man with magic that many could never wield, magic so powerful that he can bring life to his thoughts and shape worlds to his image. One day he looked out of his castle on the hill and reflected on his life. For you see the man, with all his knowledge and power was truly deeply sad and lonely. He was the last of his family and his only friend was far away protecting the kingdom. When an idea struck the wizard, he had the knowledge and power to make friends and family! Grinning from ear to ear, he reached deep into his heart and cast his magic. There was a bright light then …. KABOOM!
An explosion threw the wizard far and onto his back. Stars swarmed his eyes, his head pounded from the explosion, and his ears were ringing. He stayed there for a few moments when out of nowhere a sound was heard. The wizard believed he was concussed for the sound was a muffled voice, a voice that sounded very high and silly sounding. His vision was then obscured by a huge white glove.
"Need a hand pal?" the voice asked
The wizard reached and grabbed the offered appendage. He was pulled onto his feet and dusted himself off, he looked in front of him to say thanks to the stranger he stopped and stared. Standing in front of the man was a mouse. Not an ordinary mouse, no not at all.
It was standing on two feet and was 3 feet tall. The head was a perfectly round circle with two smaller ones as ears. Its fur was black except near the mouth which was a light brown. The mouse wore red shorts with two white overall buttons, two big yellow shoes, and two white gloves. The man looked at this creature and smiled. His magic worked! Jumping for joy and yelling like a schoolboy, the man celebrated. The mouse wore a amused smile on his face and tilted his head in a very human manner. Finishing his bout of joy, the man looked over to the mouse and smiled.
"Sorry about that little display but yes I am quite alright. May I know your name?" he asked
The mouse smiled and stood proud with his hand outstretched
"My name is Mickey, Mickey Mouse!" The mouse said, "What is your name pal?"
The man took his hand and shook it enthusiastically and replied
"My name is Walter Elias Disney! Pleased to meet you Mickey!"
This meeting between the man and his creation sparked an extraordinary moment in history. From their meeting Disney befriended Mickey and they both work together to create a land. An utopian society where this light and joy for all to see and feel. With both of their minds and Disney's magic they created more and more wonderful creatures and people. From the noble prince and beautiful princess to races made up of animals and mechanization that even the alchemist of the kingdom could never dream of making. Disney had truly found family.
But where there is light, there is also darkness. A Darkness so ravenous that it devours all life in its path. It descended onto Disney's Magic Kingdom, laying siege to its inhabitants. To save his creations, Disney created a book imbued with all of his power to seal them away safely. Mere moments before The Darkness broke through the main gates, Disney started his sealing, securing his legacy. With a tearful smile, he turned to his creations and said.
"You all meant the world to me. I wish there was another way, but I didn't have enough time. Please forgive me."
With those final words the sealing ritual was completed…or so he thought
"Walt!" A voice cried
Spinning around, Walt was shocked to see his first creation
"Mickey! What are you doing?! You must not be here!"
"I can't just leave! Your sacrificing everything for us! I can't let you do that!"
A huge bang interrupted whatever Disney was going to say. Looking to the gate, he knew they wouldn't last. Thinking over his options, he looked at Mickey with determination, kneeling he put his hands on his shoulders and looked at Mickey.
"Mickey, what I'm about to tell you is my most guarded secret. I trust you not because you're my first creation, but because you're my best friend." Walt said with steel
Mickey was startled, there weren't any secrets about Walt that he didn't know. Walt leaned forward and whispered in his ear. His eyes became wide with shock and his mouth was open, of all the possibilities that ran in his head, he didn't expect that. Walt smiled and started chanting a spell causing Mickey to go into the book.
"Remember Mickey, when the time comes you must help. Can I entrust you with this task?" Walt asked
Silently crying with a smile, Mickey nodded
"Keep moving forward my friend. We will meet again." Walt said
With that Mickey was sealed into the book. Standing at full height, Disney turned to the gate to face The Darkness. With a mighty crack the gate blew inwards and black smoke rushed towards him.
Summoning his last magic, Walt look resolute and said
"You will not win today! I may fall, but someone far more powerful will defeat you!"
With that, a bright golden light engulfed him and the smoke, shrunk them into a ball then exploded into fire. Disney's Magic Kingdom, a beacon of peace and joy for all, fell…
"To this day no one knows what happened to Disney's Book, or if it truly exists. The End." The Adult said "Now it's time for bed little knight."
The boy snuggled into his pillow and turned away from the Adult with a sleepy smile. The Adult turned the light to his room off and walked to the door.
"Grandpa?" The Boy asked
"Hmm?"
"Do you think The Book is real?"
The Grandfather looked and smiled "Oh I don't know. It's just a fairy tale"
The Boy smiled "Goodnight Grandpa"
The Grandfather nodded "Goodnight…Naruto."
With that the Grandfather closed the door of Naruto's bedroom.
Walking away from his grandsons' room, he went straight to his personal study. The room was made with rich mahogany wood, shelves lined the walls filled with priceless first-edition books and scrolls. In the center of the room was a wood-carved desk with a leather reclining chair. Sitting in the chair, the old man ran his hands along the edge of it till he found a button. Pushing it, a door on the side of the desk popped open revealing a secret compartment. Reaching inside, he pulled a thick, old leather book with dust on its cover. Running his hands over, a picture of a man and mouse holding hands in front of a castle in gold and silver appeared. Holding it in his hands he drew in a breath.
"He asked for the story again." He said
The book opens to a blank and yellowing page. In black ink, a cursive message appeared
That's now a thousand and one.
He chuckled. "That's true." His face grew serious "His thirteenth birthday approaches."
Is he the one?
He sighed "In my head I want to say yes…"
But?
He looked at the book "In my heart, I want him to maintain his childlike innocence. He's just a boy-" The book interrupted with fast writing
He is a sacrifice. A weapon made by greed and a lust for power. His innocence died when his father sealed his fate with that horrible power. The Village has caused untold pain, both physical and emotional scale that only a Jinchuuriki can know.
He scowled "His mother and father gave him that…power because they believed he can be the hero they envisioned him to be! They believed in him like I and the Sandaime does! He's not a mindless beast or an emotionless weapon to be used and discarded no matter what the others say! You know this to be true!" He took a long calming breath "I've been giving the support he needs to be partially normal."
And I like his parents, believe in him as well. You have done more than most would do, but the Village has done nothing for him to swear fealty to them, why should he save them when they persecute him just for what he holds?
He wore a proud look on his face and responded "To be Hokage, that is his dream. To be respected and acknowledged as a human and shinobi. To prove them wrong."
The page was blank for several seconds. The old man was a little wary of what was going to appear.
He is a good boy. He seems happy.
He smiled "Yes he is."
Will you train him like the other two?
He nodded "Yes, he will be trained."
The book then flipped to a new page were the ink as if sketched by a masterful artist, many creatures. Young and old, man and woman, humans, animals, and machines all gather at a square, and in front of the crowd was made the old man smile. A certain mouse standing on two feet with red shorts, yellow shoes, and large white gloves, waving and smiling. Then again in cursive a message appeared above the crowd:
See you real soon!
-M.M
He then gently closed the book and put it back in the compartment. He stood up, walked to the door and shut off the light
