Usually this is the part where the author writes off quite an exposition dump just to set his story. But instead, I'm just gonna TL:DR the whole thing.

The fall never happened, Salem was gone (or not, who knows?) And it has been 10 years since everyone graduated from Beacon. Pyrrha and team RWBY are enjoying themselves at a café on the commercial district of Vale.

"So, what you all say about going to Junior's afterwards?" Asked Yang, having already finished her coffee.

"You seem to be really fond at that place, considering you trash nightclubs for a living." Blake said.

"That was only one time." Yang responded. "And besides, today's our brake, we can still have some fun."

"I would appreciate if we didn't lose our licenses over DUI overnight." Weiss said, glancing over her cup.

"Pfft. You girls are no fun. Hey Nikos, what ya say?"

Pyrrha sat on the other side of the circular table as she was sipping her own coffee.

"I'm not sure if that would be ideal to me. We should probably spend our free time more responsibly, giving our age." She said.

"Sure, I understand." Yang snickered. "I know how much you like to spend your free time with him."

"Yang, I'm pretty sure the statute of limitations for teasing them has already worn off in recent years." Ruby deadpanned, clearly used to her sister's banter.

"Oh you~." Yang said while pretending to pout. Then she turned back to Pyrrha "Still, who could've seen you and Jaune becoming an item even after all these years?"

"Pretty much everyone." Blake said in-between sips.

"From the very first day at the academy." Ruby also responded.

"That was meant to be rhetorical, wasn't it?" Weiss asked.

"Yeah…" Yang groaned, already tired of her losing streak. "But you have to admit, it took a broken blue moon for him to finally show interest in you."

Pyrrha looked at her cup at that statement. "Well… That's one way of putting."

"Say, how was it when he finally accepted your feelings for him?"

Pyrrha felt herself a bit embarrassed. "Well, you see. I don't quite remember how it really was."

"Wasn't it when his sister came to visit him at beacon for a week?" Blake stated. That alone made Pyrrha feel a little uneasy.

"Yeah." Weiss recalled. "Saphron, wasn't it? She even brought her wife and their kid, Adrian, which mind you, was the cutest thing ever!" She squealed a little by the end.

'Even more than Zwei?' Ruby thought, but didn't say it. As she didn't feel like changing the subject.

"Oh yeah! I remember now." Silver eyes widened at the memory. "Jaune asked you to pretend to be his girlfriend."

Pyrrha winced a little. Not that the other women noticed.

"Oh Gods, how come I forgot that?!" Yang exclaimed to herself. "You told us that Jaune lied about having a girlfriend to Saphron because he was envious that she was bragging how beautiful Terra was." Yang gave a cheerful laugh. "Then- Then he asked you for a solid to be his significant-other just to fool them."

"What are the odds?" Ruby proceeded to hold her belly a little while she finished laughing.

"Yeah… Odds…" Pyrrha muttered while laughing (or trying to) with the others.

"Anyhow~" Yang said. "When did he finally realize you two were meant to be?"

Once again, Pyrrha went to take another sip from her coffee, only to realize that her cup was already empty.

"Uhm…" Pyrrha went a few decibels lower with her voice. "Run that by me again?"

"Yang just asked how long did your charade went before you started dating for realsies." Ruby inquired.

Weirdly enough, Pyrrha didn't feel an easy answer coming all this way to save her.

"Well, you see… It was right after, you know… We were there an- and the thing was…" She rambled.

Their smiles faded away as Ruby and her team were now visibly concerned with their friend's behavior.

"Pyrrha." Weiss got her attention. "When was the last time he pretended to be in love with you?"

Pyrrha, being clinically diagnosed as the extreme opposite of a pathological liar, felt cornered.

"Uhm… Last time… Would be… This morning?"

"No fucking way." Said Yang. Any humorous intent long gone.

"It's not that bad, really! It's just our way to express-"

"No." She interrupted. "Are you meaning to tell me that after all this time, Jaune still thinks that you're pretending to be a couple, just to deceive his sister?!"

"Well… Initially, yes, but-"

"Initially?" Blake scowled.

Pyrrha sighed. "Initially, it was supposed to be just Saphron and her wife. But then his family heard the news and he was obliged to invite me to meet his parents and sisters. Eventually, our academy started spreading out that we were dating so he insisted we played the part. A few months later, some tabloids got their hands on the scoop about Pyrrha Nikos' Boyfriend and… Well, you get the idea."

Silence reigned again.

The women, as well as a good portion of the students back in the day, have always joked about their Resident Noodle's Denseness™. But this shit right now was just borderline bonkers.

"No, this can't be." Blake denied. "You two were always together. You even called yourselves lovely nicknames at all times."

"Those were code-names, in his words." Pyrrha confessed. "He suggested that we changed every couple of weeks to not raise any suspicion."

"B-but, but…" Ruby stuttered. "You were really intimate with one another. Even to the point to lock yourselves into closets to… do thingies." She went red after that.

"Those were emergency secret reunions. It was where we used to discuss how to act in public, along with the code-names." She actually never got to do those thingies.

"Ok, this is just stupid." Weiss interrupted. "He proposed to you during our graduation ceremony. Hell, you two even held the biggest and most expensive wedding ceremony in all history of Vale."

"I… That was actually my idea. Both our parents paid for the whole event. I just told him to play along."

Yang then slammed the table with both her hands.

"YOUR DAUGHTER IS 4 YEARS OLD!"

"Well…"

"L-Look." Jaune stammered frantically. "I wasn't expecting it to reach at this point, well, none of us did, really. Everything went well alright, yet there's still so much to cover. Not that I'm complaining about anything, you see. Pyrrha's been amazing so far, I'm really grateful for how patient she's been with me ever since I came up with this. I'm just worried that I have been holding her down and…"

He cleared his throat.

"Anyway! The point is, can we trust you with this?" He inquired.

"Daddy, are we going to visit auntie Saph?" His literal daughter asked. Most of what he said going over her head.

"In an hour, sweetie." He confirmed as he reached for his pocket.

Then he proceeded to give her some small written notes. "Here, I want you to decorate these lines to say while we're staying at their house."

The notes consisted of 'Mommy said I can have some candy', 'I like to watch Schneeflix with my mom and dad', 'I love you daddy' and some others.

"Now, who wants to practice piggyback rides?" He asked with a really cheerful tone.

"Oh! Me! Me!" She jumped with excitement as both went to their backyard.

"He's actually a really great and caring father." Pyrrha said while being certainly proud of him. "Even if they don't seem to understand what's going on most of the time."

Team RWBY made themselves comfortable at their seats as they took their time processing all of this.

Blake was the first one to rise against this insanity. "Pyrrha, you can't keep this going forever. Jaune is, for a lack of a better term, a grown man and he needs to properly understand the commitment you two have been through."

"Y-Yeah" Yang recovered. "I mean, who's to say that he actually loves you?"

Pyrrha's eye begun to twitch at that question. Her entire posture slowly stiffing.

"Uh oh…" Ruby readied herself.

"I'll have you know." Pyrrha put a hand to her chest. "That I'm deeply in love with my brave knight, and that he wouldn't gone this far if he didn't feel the same, otherwise."

"However, you still haven't mentioned that part to him personally up to this point." Weiss argued. "I can't even fault the poor dunce if you're still going to indulge this idea with him."

"Oh, so now you're saying this is all my fault, isn't it?" Pyrrha scowled. "Well, why don't you-"

DING*

Pyrrha pulled out her scroll to check the sudden notification. Everyone went silent as she read the message. The mistrali produced a smug grim afterwards.

She stood up and placed the scroll on the table in front of the opposite team. The screen was facing down. "Go on. Check."

Ruby was the one to muster up courage to pick up the device. Doing so, she holds it for her teammates to see.

Jaune; Hey Pyr! Just so u know, my family arranged a cruise near menagerie for us to go. Dont forget to pack your things. XOXOXXOOX

"Were you saying something?" Pyrrha said as she crossed her arms while still grinning.

The women actually felt relieved after this.

"Well, I'll be…" Yang said. "For a moment there, I thought-"

DING*

Jaune; btw, XOXOXXOOX means "ill meet u there at home for further planning". But u probably already knew that haha

After Ruby lowly voiced his last message to Pyrrha, four stares crossed the table at the champion.

"…As I was saying!" She snatched back her scroll. "I would love to continue this conversation, but I need to come back at home to my husband and help him plan for this trip."

After one last "Hmph!", Pyrrha went away in the most uncharacteristic haughty posture she could make up.

Team RWBY sat there dumbfounded by this small sequence of events.

"Well, that was a thing." Yang said, coming up with the best report of that situation.

"Still, you can't say that they're not made for each other." Weiss stated.

"What do you mean by that?" Blake asked.

"Because they're both the Final Boss of denial." Ruby answered for her friend.

"Not how I would have put, but yes." Weiss concurred.

April Fools?

So, this is sort of based of "The Right Reasons" by ChrisRainicorn, which is probably also based on a small Tumblr post I've seen a while ago.

Anyway, hope you enjoyed.
