Oh yeah, and a tribe of pop trolls live here, living, dancing, and singing in sync and harmony. Their leader is the peppiest, happiest, most lovable troll in the village, Queen Poppy. She loved to be with her friends, especially her best friend Branch. However, one thing she loved even more was singing and dancing.

After a beautiful and energetic song and dance number, everyone went to do their daily things while Poppy went to meet up with her group of friends known as the Snack Pack. It consisted of Biggie and his pet worm Mr. Dinkles, DJ Suki, Guy Diamond, Smidge, Cooper, the twins Satin and Chenille, and of course Branch. Once she met up with them, Biggie said,"That had to be one of the best numbers we ever did," with Mr. Dinkles chirping in agreement. Cooper added,"Yeah dawg. That was off the chain"! DJ Suki then asked,"I must ask Poppy. How do you come up with big numbers and great songs like the one we just did"? Poppy blushed in embarrassment before saying,"I really do not know. I guess it comes naturally. I always have a song in my heart and a beat going through my feet. That plus music equals great dance numbers." Satin replied with,"Great is an understatement. Poppy, you are a stellar dancer." Chenille added,"You're one of the best dancers in all of Troll Village." Branch then smirked, saying,"She's "one" of the best, but not "the" best," which made everyone surprised. Poppy turned to face Branch before saying,"Since when did you become a genius in dancing? Last I checked, you haven't danced in over 20 years while you were going through your...*ahem* gray period." Branch smiled before saying,"Well, even before that, my moves have always been pretty sweet. Now that I have happiness in my heart again, I can show my stellar moves off once more in a lot more events than our usual morning song and dance." Poppy then crossed her arms in interest before saying,"Yeah, your dancing is pretty good and your voice is as charming as ever, but it still doesn't prove that you're the best dancer."

An idea came into Branch's mind as he says with a smirk,"Well then, there's only one way to prove who truly is the best dancer in Troll Village. A dance off," which made the Snack Pack gasp in shock and gather the attention of the other trolls. Poppy responded with,"This is more than a dance off. This...is a dance BATTLE"!!! That made everyone gasp in surprise and shock as Guy Diamond fainted from all the drama. Cooper simply said,"Oh dang," as Biggie added,"A dance battle? There hasn't been one of those in Troll Village for decades"!!! Poppy looked at Branch in determination as Branch walked up to her. He and Poppy shook hands while he said,"You got a deal "Princess"!! All the trolls muttered and whispered about the challenge as former king Peppy volunteered to referee the challenge. Everyone knew that this was going to be an entertaining but heated match, especially since it was between two of the best dancers in all of Troll Village. Both agreed to have the match at night, so it'd be more legendary. DJ Suki ran back to her pod to pick out some of the best music for tonight as Poppy and Branch separated to practice. Branch was accompanied by Cooper and Biggie while Poppy left with Smidge, Satin and Chenille, and a still recovering Guy Diamond.

With Poppy, Smidge was talking to her, saying,"Are you sure about this Poppy? Branch is pretty good. You're not nervous, are you"? Poppy smiled, saying,"Relax. This is just some friendly competition, though it would be nice to win and make Branch eat his words!! I'm not nervous one bit about tonight"!! Her friends looked at each other in concern before Satin spoke up, saying,"Well, if you're going to be doing this," with Chenille adding,"Then, you'll need a stellar outfit." They both squealed,"Fashion makeover," as Smidge face-palmed and said quietly,"Oh boy." The only thing that interrupted them was Guy Diamond waking up at last and asking,"What did I miss"? With the men, err...the other men, Biggie was asking Branch,"This seems like a bad idea. You know how serious Poppy can get in a competition, especially when it comes to dancing. Aren't you scared"? Branch just smiled, saying,"I'm not scared one bit. It's just a friendly competition, though it'd be nice to win and prove Poppy I'm right, right fellas"? The boys nervously nodded as Cooper whispered,"This ain't going to end well," with Mr. Dinkles chirping its agreement. Soon, nightfall came after hours of vocal and dance practices with nervous supporters behind each competitor. An open field was lit with DJ Suki and her turntables set on a small hill, with King Peppy next to her. All the other trolls surrounded the field, anticipating and waiting for the competitors. A bass drum started to beat as Branch and Poppy entered the field.

Branch was sporting a leaf jacket, some nice pants, and black shoes as he entered with his supporters. Poppy soon came and her outfit surprised everyone in the village. She had on a black leather jacket, loose but fitting matching black sweatpants, and zebra-striped sneakers on her feet. She lowered the hood of her jacket, revealing a black hairband in place of her normal headband. Both competitors walked towards the center of the field as Branch said,"It's not too late to call it off if you're scared." Poppy responded with,"Ha!! You'll be the one running when I win," as they both stared each other down. King Peppy held a microphone as he said,"Welcome to the Troll Village dance battle!!! The rules are simple: three rounds. Each round, a song will play and our competitors will dance to it however they like. Singing is optional. After each round, a cheer vote will determine who wins each round. Whoever has more votes in the end wins and will be known as the best dancer in Troll Village. Competitors, are you ready," as both trolls shook hands before separating to their area. King Peppy then shouts,"Then, competitors, let's dance. Since Branch issued the challenge first, Poppy goes first." DJ Suki started to play the music for round one as Poppy got a feel of the rhythm before running up and beginning to dance.

As Poppy danced, she displayed some pretty impressive spins, jumps, kicks, and motions. While at the same time, her stellar voice was rocking the crowd into pieces, but Branch watched unafraid.

As Poppy finished with a pose, she stepped off so Branch could have his turn, though Poppy felt mightily confident about winning. However, Branch was ready to give her a run for her dancing money.

Branch: Hey you, stop stressing 'bout what you're missing. So blue, just take it easy, take your time. If you think my words are wise, just try it for yourself. I promise the stars will light the path you walk. Don't give in. Got a heart of gold, what a shame to go to waste. The clouds will open up, the skies are willing.

Branch had some good moves as well, showing tight spins and steps unlike anything anyone ever saw. When it came to dancing, Branch was no slouch. Poppy was a little surprised, but it did not shake her confidence.

Branch ended with a sweet pose as well, bringing the audience into amazement. Now, Poppy joined back in as the end of each round in a dance battle, both competitors danced together against one another. Once those two started to move and dance, the crowd was roaring.

Poppy: Just take it from me, you'll be ok [ you'll be ok ]. Cause it don't matter how sweet it taste [ how sweet it taste ].

Branch: The grass ain't green, no worry. Losing sleep, still wanna get. Yeah, you get.

As Branch and Poppy finished their first dance, the crowd was applauding real loudly in excitement. King Peppy marched down and faced the trolls, asking who they thought danced the best in round 1. He pointed to Branch, he got a loud standing ovation. He pointed to Poppy, the crowded was even louder. He then says,"Round 1 goes to Queen Poppy!! Two rounds left competitors. You have two minutes to breathe and think of your next routine." Poppy walked to her corner smiling before guzzling down a water bottle. Smidge said,"Oh my guh!!! You! Were! A! Ma! Zing"!! Satin added,"You were excellent out there girl," with Chenille adding,"Talented as always." Poppy responded with,"Thanks. I just need to win round two and the competition's in the bag." Meanwhile, Branch walked back to his corner, but he was smiling and surprisingly calm about the situation. Biggie handed him a water bottle as he said,"Branch, aren't you worried? If Poppy wins the next round, you'll lose." Branch easily calmed his nerves, saying,"Relax. Round 1 was a warm-up for me. The next round's mine"!! When the two minutes were up, both competitors got to their corners as King Peppy said,"It's time for round two!! If Queen Poppy wins this round, she wins it all! Branch goes first this time! Competitors, it's time to dance"!! Branch hopped out onto the stage and was ready to dance his heart out.

Branch showed off a whole different skill, displaying his agility, his reflexes, and his fancy, light and airy footwork, while at the same time, showing that "his hips don't lie." Everyone was star struck and amazed, cheering so loudly, even Poppy was left speechless.

I'm a fly, fly just like a bird. ( DJ Suki: But you ain't a bird! ) Oh yeah, you're right. So, let me fly just like a rocket then. ( DK Suki: Ok!! ) Fly so high, but I need to come down for oxygen. Just before he could step off, Poppy came in for her turn. She was determined more than ever to beat Branch and wasn't going to let something like an ability shake her.

Poppy: I wanna party ( party! ), I wanna samba ( party! ). I wanna party ( party ) and fly!

I'm that samba, samba master, master, master, master, master. Who shouts out, I'm a get your blaster, blaster, blaster, blaster, blaster. You dance fast, but I dance faster, faster, faster, faster, faster. You're too slow, you need to catch up, you can dance and dance!

The only thing that surprised everyone more than Branch's stellar dancing ability was Poppy's incredible rapping ability. No one knew she had that in here. That plus her dancing equals minds blown and awesome competition. Now, things were getting serious as both competitors danced face to face.

Both: I wanna party ( Poppy: party! ), I wanna samba ( Branch: party! ). I wanna party ( Poppy: party! ), I wanna samba ( Branch: party! ). I wanna party ( Poppy: party! ) and live my life ( Branch: my life! ). I wanna party ( Poppy: party! ) and fly!!!

DJ Suki: Get ready for the drop guys cause it's about to get hot in here! Here we go!

Poppy spun and began singing in such a harmonious voice, it almost put Branch in a trance. However, he was serious and kept up his dance moves.

Poppy: La-yah-la-yah-la-yah-la-yah!!!!! La-yah-la-yah-la-yah-la-yah-la-yah-la-yah-la-yah-la-yah!!!

Both: Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! ( DJ Suki: Yeah! ) Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! ( DJ Suki: Yeah! ) Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey! Hey!

As both trolls finished their dance, the crowd roared in applause once more. King Peppy came down as the voting started up again. This time, it was Branch who got more cheers for his dance. With that, Peppy says,"Round two goes to Branch!! It's all tied up, going into the last round!! Competitors, take two to rest up and prepare for the last round"!! Both trolls went to their respective sides, greeted by their supporters. As Branch sat down and drank water, Cooper said,"Yo!! That was off the chain"!! Biggie added,"He's right!! You were incredible out there"! Branch nodded, saying,"See? What did I tell you? Now, all I have to do is win the last round and my legacy will be set." Meanwhile, Poppy grumpily sat down and drank water while Guy Diamond comforted her, saying,"Cheer up love!! You still killed it out there"!! Satin added,"Guy is right. Plus, when you rapped, it was really cool." Chenille added,"None of us knew you could rap like that ever"! Poppy looked up at them, saying,"Thanks. I have to win the last round no matter what if I'm going to win this thing," before touching her throat. Smidge, seeing this, asked,"You ok Poppy? Does your throat hurt"? Poppy shook her head, saying,"It's just a little scratchy, but I'm fine. I can still sing, and I will sing, along with dance my heart out and blow Branch out of the water!! In a friendly way of course because this is a friendly competition." Everyone looked at her worryingly as Poppy soon headed towards her corner. Both competitors soon met at the center, with King Peppy in the middle with the microphone. He says,"This is the final round of the competition. Both trolls are tied with one win each Whoever wins this round wins the competition entirely. Now, you'll both be dancing to the same song and the same time. Be careful, no intentional hits, and have fun. You both ready," as they nodded and shook hands one final time before separating so they'd have room. With that, Peppy said with a shout,"Let the final round of the dance battle begin," with the audience ready to cheer and watch.

Both trolls danced with all their might and energy, doing their signature dancing style while incorporating new methods to make it stand our. It was both for entertaining the crowd while settling this old friendly rivalry score once and for all. However, Poppy could feel her scratchy throat get worse and was beginning to sound a little hoarse. However, she shook it off and tried to power through.

Branch: You can go the distance, you can go the mile. You can walk straight through the dark with a smile. You can be a hero, you can get the gold. Breaking all the records they thought never could be broke.

Poppy: Yeah, do it for your people, do it for your pride. How're you ever gonna know if you never even try? Do it for your country, do it for your name. Cause there gonna be a day when you're

Both: Standing in the hall of fame! ( Branch: Yeah! ) ( Poppy: Ooooooooohhhh ) And the world's gonna know your name! "Aaaahhhhh"!!! That was the sound of Poppy falling and screaming in pain. What happened was when Poppy was about to a jumping sidestep, her foot was in the wrong direction and she twisted it badly. A *SNAP* and a *CRACK* was heard, meaning she broke a bone in either her ankle or leg. Plus. the scream also released the last bit of her clear voice, leaving her throat scratchy and sore and Poppy with a raspy voice. Branch, seeing what occured, rushed to her side and helped her up. Poppy winced in pain, small tears developing around her eyes, not even having enough energy to do a proper cry. Branch shouted,"Call off the competition!!! Get medical help now!! Call Dr. Plum"!!! Every troll went off in different directions to get the situation under control. That night, things got pretty hectic, everyone unsure of what would happen next. By morning, Peppy and Branch out of Dr. Plum's office and back to her pod. She ended with a broken ankle and torn ligament, totaling up to 6 weeks in a cast, brace, and crutches. Plus, she lost her voice, meaning that she now had a nasty case of laryngitis, rendering her unable to speak for a couple of days. The final issue, and this one was a surprise, was that Poppy was running a high fever, rendering her sick for the next few days. Peppy opened the door to her pod as Branch guided Poppy to her couch and helped her lay down without crushing her leg. He then gently laid a blanket over her so she'd stay warm as Poppy coughed for a minute before sighing in sadness. Only one thing hurt even more than her throat, her leg or even her head: it was her pride. Physically, mentally, and emotionally, Poppy was really hurt.

Branch volunteered to take care of Poppy until she felt better while Peppy went to check on the other trolls. Once he left, Branch got a cold compress and placed it on her forehead, hoping it could help break the fever. Even though it felt really good, it wasn't enough to make Poppy feel any better, metaphorically speaking. Branch could easily see that as he knelt by Poppy while saying,"No need to worry. Soon, you'll become better again and once your leg heals, we can get back to dancing." That didn't seem to work as Poppy just looked away from him in sadness. Even if she could still talk, she had no interest talking to anyone, especially Branch at the moment. She felt really bad about what happened and was also really...embarrassed. An idea came into mind as he said,"You know what I think you need? A cold bubble bath. Something chilly to help break your fever. What do you say"? Even though Poppy was feeling lousy, that idea sounded pretty good. Plus, her cast was water proof, so no matter what, it wouldn't get soaked. Why not? She slowly nodded and smiled, liking the sound of it as Branch picked her bridal style and carried her towards the bathroom. Luckily, there was a set of pj's hanged up for her, probably left for her by Peppy earlier.

Branch turned on the water and got things set up while Poppy sat and watched patiently while holding her throat. It still hurts pretty bad, like sitting on a cushion of thorns. Once the tub was set, Branch let Poppy have some alone time so she could undress and soak for a bit. As he left and closed the door, Poppy slowly got out of her dress and into the tub of bubbly, cold water. At first, it felt a bit painful since her initial temperature was so high and the water felt really cold. Once she sat and relaxed a bit, it was not so bad. In fact, it felt like sweet relief. Poppy laid back and soaked in the cold water for about half an hour. She then carefully got out, dried off, and slipped into her pj's before carefully hobbling towards the door and knocking on it. Branch opened it up and aided Poppy in standing upright. He smiled, saying,"Enjoyed yourself," as she smiled and nodded a happy yes. Branch aided her to the bedroom and helped her into bed, putting a cushion for her bandaged leg to rest on. She covered herself well under the covers as Branch reapplied the cold compress to her forehead. Her fever has remarkably lowered and she looked a lot better than before.

Before Branch could leave though, Poppy, despite having laryngitis, managed to say a hoarse,"I'm sorry," which he heard. That made him turn around and say,"Sorry for what? Anyone could've gotten sick." Poppy frowned again before saying in a hoarse voice,"I'm sorry for what happened at the dance battle last night. I was so determined to win, and then, misplacing my feet and causing this injury. Having it happen in front of everyone a-and embarrassing you, it's all too much to bear I tell you-," before getting interrupted by Branch cupping her chin in his hand, surprising her. He simply replied,"First off, rest your voice so you don't make your throat more sore. Second, what happened last night was not your fault. It could've happened to anyone last night, I'm serious. Besides, you were excellent, even when we were competing against one another. There's no way that you could've embarrassed me or anyone else, not even yourself. We all had the time of our lives out there, nothing to freak out about. So, I say, who cares who's the best dancer in all of Troll Village. You're the best dancer in my eyes Poppy." Poppy smiled and managed to say a hoarse, but generous,"And you're the best dancer in my eyes Branch." When their hug time bracelet chimed, they both shared a sentimental hug as Poppy laid back to get some rest. Branch rubbed her back and shoulder as he hummed a small lullaby as Poppy slowly closed her eyes and fell fast asleep, her breathing no longer shallow. She slept through the entire day and night, with Branch keeping a close eye on her the whole time. He even fell asleep right next to her as night overcame the sky.

By the next morning, Branch woke up and found Poppy still asleep, but happy. He checked her temperature and was relieved to see that it was back to normal. He was so excited, he ended up falling out of the chair he was sitting in, which made Poppy begin to wake up. She opened her eyes and saw Branch, who had just gotten back up. He saw Poppy and said while smiling,"And how are we feeling today"? Poppy cleared her throat before saying in a semi-hoarse tone,"Better thank you." Her voice was slowly, but surely returning to her. She motioned for Branch to bring over her crutches as he did as so. She quickly motioned him to follow her outside as the two headed outside the pod and into the village. Everyone saw Poppy feeling a lot better as the Snack Pack went up to her. Smidge was the first to speak, saying,"How do you feel Poppy? Better"? All of her friends looked for a response as Poppy said in her semi-hoarse voice,"Getting better. My fever is gone and my voice is coming back, though I still have 5 weeks, 6 days, 18 hours, 46 minutes and...12 seconds left with this cast and brace." Brace then says,"Poppy is still in voice recovery mode, so, she won't be doing a lot of talking just yet." Biggie then asked,"What about the competition for who is the best dancer in all of Troll Village"? Cooper added,"Yeah. Who won 'less someone else rose to the challenge." Branch and Poppy looked at one another before Branch said,"We've made a decision over that. We decided that we are BOTH the best dancers in all of Troll Village." That made everyone smile and cheer as DJ Suki says,"Now that's a beat I'm down with." Satin and Chenille then both said,"What are you both going to do while Poppy recovers"? Branch thought for a minute before saying,"I have an idea of what we can do. Poppy, wanna sound it off"? Poppy reached for her cowbell and, despite being on crutches, was able to bang it to a catchy beat.

5 weeks, 6 days, 18 hours, 46 minutes and...12 seconds later...

Cooper: It ain't hard out here, when you're doing it right. Put a smile on blast, that's the troll life!

Poppy: And I'm here to help you through it. Come on Smidge, I know you can do it!!

As Smidge picked up Poppy and Branch on a mushroom, he shouted,"Just like old times my friends"!! As it was picked up, both Branch and Poppy began to dance and sing.

Yep, your ears aren't deceiving you. Poppy was now fully recovered and better than ever. Thanks to the time she took to heal her throat and leg, she could move and sing as if she never got hurt to begin with. The support from her friends and help from Branch made the time a lot easier to cope with. Now, Queen Poppy could continue to rule the village like normal again. After that huge song and dance number, she met up with Branch as the two decided to spend the rest of the day together...as a newly budded couple. Who knew something like a dance battle or an accident could bring these two together, making them closer than ever?
