Sleep, Part 1:
Tony: He tries not too. He is afraid of the nightmares that come if he does. He spends his nights in the labs, tinkering. He will occasionally fall asleep on the floor on his stomach, clutching a machine part or tool, or at his workbench, head down, resting on his arms. The few nights he actually goes to bed, his suit-summoning bracelets are clipped around his wrists, and another suit stands in sentry mode by the door.
Steve: On his back, feet hanging off the bed. He's too big for the bed, but he's used to it from the army, where the cots were so small you had to smush yourself into a ball if you wanted your whole body to fit on the bed. Tony offers to get him a new one; Steve declines. His shield rests on the floor, against the dresser.
Thor: Spread eagle, practically naked, drooling on his pillow, hair a wild halo around his head. Thor's sleep is the most peaceful out of all the others, a deep, restful sleep. He is the only member of the team who lacks dark circles under his eyes most mornings. Mjolnir sits on the bedside table.
Bruce: A tight ball, knees pulled up to his chin, fists knotted in the sheets. A concentrated frown forms on his mouth. He is tense, afraid to sleep, although he knows he must. Calming sounds, like waves and birds, play on his alarm clock as white noise.
Natasha: In the fetal position, tossing and turning restlessly. Her red hair is tied back in a ponytail to keep it from tickling her nose while the fan runs. Natasha runs hot, therefore the fan must be on. Her hand never leaves the Glock under her pillow.
Clint: Clint sleeps on his side, up high, in a bunk bed. He is a light sleeper, constantly alert. He leaves one hearing aid in at night, so he's not completely defenseless, the other is clutched in his fist. His bow is tacked up on the wall above his bed, where it can be easily grabbed.
