"Just one kiss, please?" This was the third time in this current hour he had asked, five more times to match the occurrences from the previous hour.

"The answer is still no." No longer did she attempt to hide the annoyance that his prestance asking created, now her words were quick, sharp leaking of acid and ashes.

"What if I were dying and this was my final request? Would you kiss me than? Or what I were captured by a terrorist group and they allowed me a kiss from anyone of my choosing?" With an exspered sigh she leans against the metal wall, eye downcast to the stained carpet.

"Ned were in a damn elevator! There are no terrorist groups around here, unfortanally its just and me, same as its been all morning." He smiles a way a small child would who's holding onto a secret.

"You smell nice. Lilac?"

"Beats me. I was attacked by one of the people who stand outside of department stores spraying passerbys in attempt to advertise there superior products." She was surprised of her length response and what was starting to resemble an actual conversation. She looks up slightly at the sound of his laughter. "What?"

"Sorry I was just having a fantasy of sorts of you going back and whacking the perfume bandit with your bag. You did didn't you?"

"I was attempted, God was I attempted! However I still had a grab a cup of coffee before I meet up with someone for brunch. Which was thirty-two minutes ago."

"Irene will you kiss me?"

"No! Christ what in the hell is wrong with you?" He watched her face grow redder and red with anger starting to match the color of her blouse.

"Nothing, I just like you is all. I hardly see anything wrong with that. What harm will one little kiss do? I do promise to be a gentleman and not move beyond that point." She thought of what he said and thought if she finally caved she would no longer have to listen to damn question for the rest of duration they were stuck here.

"Fine whatever!" His eyes grew wide with unbelief at her agreement after all this time.

"Really?" For a response she steps closer no expression found on face or body movements, as he swallows to fill the dryness of his throat. Just as she leans in a metal scrapping sound is heard from behind, they turn in unison to the doors being pulled apart.

"Sorry that took so long, everyone alright?"

"Just fine thank you!" Irene responded quickly making a beeline off of the stupid lift, while Ned remained unmoving, a hint of sadness present in his eyes now. She was attempted just to leave and quick as possible before he gained his bearings, but no that would just be rude. She turns around and calls his name.

"Yeah?"

"Care for a roast beef sandwich or something?"

"I'd care for that kiss you promised me."

"That agreement only holds for broken elevators and its passengers."

"Yes a sandwich would be lovely. Better than nothing I suppose."
