A little later that day both kids are feeling better and are watching tv in the livingroom. Jane hopes that they stay feeling better because shes going to need their help and her mothers tonight.
As it's closer to dinner time Jane and Maura get the kids fed. "What are we going to eat for dinner love since we have already fed these two." Maura ask giving each child a tickle. "I already have our food ordered babe so why dont you head upstairs and take a nice, long bath I can handle them and clean up while you do that." Jane says with a smile.
"You are to good to me." Maura says with a smile leaning to kiss Jane on the cheek. "You deserve it Maur, now get." Jane says giving her wife a pat on the butt. Once Maura is upstairs and out of ear shot she quickly calls her mother.
"Hey Ma can you do me a favor?" "Sure Janie what's going on? What happened to your date night?" Angela ask. "The kids got sick so we are going to stay in but I need you to go to that new French restaurant and pick up the food I ordered. I can't make it there and back before Maura is done taking a bath please ma?" Jane asking hopeing her mother would help.
"Of course I can that for you Janie and I tell you what I'll do I'll even serve it to you two as if you are at a real restaurant." Anagla says happily. "Actually that would be awesome ma, you sure you don't mind?" Jane ask concerned that her mother would feel used.
"I'm sure Janie and I'll even get the kids to bed for you." "God thank you ma you are a life saver but I have to go I have the kids helping out to I will leave the side door to the kitchen unlocked so you can just come in." Jane says hurriedly.
"Okay Jane I will see you shortly." Angela replies before hanging up. Jane quickly gets both kids changed into black pants and a white button down shirt. Both kids were eagerly excited to help.
Once Angela arrives with the food she begins plateing it for them. Jane quickly ran upstairs to change into her black pinstripe suit. "Jane what are you doing?" Maura calls from the bathroom. "Nothing babe just enjoy your bath and meet me downstairs when you are finished." "Oh and I laid out a dress for you to put on!" Jane yells from the closet.
"A dress for what?" Maura asked confused. "Its a surprise just put it on please!" Jane yells back while checking herself over in the mirror. "Okay Jane I'll be out in 10." Maura says back with a chuckle. Jane sighs that will give her plenty of time.
She quickly heads back down to lite the candles on the table and dim the lights. Angela has Ethan in the kitchen with her and Harper is standing by the table.
Jane quickly makes her way to the bottom of the stairs when she hears Maura coming down. "Jane what's going on why did you have me." The blonde pauses when she sees her wife looking gorgeously handsome in her pinstripe suit. "Jane what is all this?" Maura asked even more confused.
Jane doesn't say a word she holds her hand out for her wife to take. "Jane where are you taking me?" Maura ask. As they round the corner into the dining area Maura gasps. Harper walks to a chair and pulls it out for her mom to sit in as Jane walks Maura closer to the table.
Maura chuckles at the sight before her Jane takes the chair to Mauras right and thanks Harper. The little girl nods and heads to the kitchen. "Jane." Maura says with a smile so wide Jane thought it would split her face. "Just wait the best is yet to come." Jane says with a grin.
Just as Maura takes Jane's hand Ethan slowly walks out with a basket of breadsticks and places it on the table. The "awee" didn't go unnoticed by Jane as she smiles at her wifes reaction.
Ethan returns again with two glasses of water that he is trying his best not to spill so much so he slowly walks to the table. Maura takes both glasses and hands one to Jane and thanks their son with a kiss to the top of his head. Ethan smiles and quickly runs back to the kitchen.
A little while later Angela appears with there food. "Here you go ladies." Angela says as she places the plates in front of each woman explaining what is being served. "And here is a nice chilled bottle of red wine for you to have with your meal." "And don't worry about the kids I will get them up to bed." "Enjoy ladies." Is all Angela says with a smile before walking away.
Maura turns her attention back to her wife. "You put all of this together in the short amount of time i was in the bath?" Maura asked still trying to wrap her head around how amazing her wife and children and mother in law are. "Yes I did." Jane says sitting a little straighter. "This amazing Jane, you are absolutely amazing." Maura says leaning over to kiss her wife.
"Anything for you love I just figured if we couldn't make to the restaurant that I would bring the restaurant to us." Jane states kissing the top of the honey blondes hand. "I know it's not the date we hoped for but it's the best I could do." Jane says smiling. "This is perfect Jane I couldn't ask for a better date." Maura replies.
"Shall we?" Jane ask. "We shall." Maura says, a huge smile returning to her face again. The two of them enjoy the dinner. They share laughs and constant touches.
Maura hoped that there would be many more at home dates in the future. She loved this gorgeous brunette that is her wife more then she ever thought possible. Everyday was an adventure with Jane Rizzoli and their two amazing kids and she couldn't wait for the many more years that are to come.
Jane was grateful that this evening turned out the way it has. She knew that she would do anything and everything to have that smile on her wifes face for the years to come. She loved this woman sitting next to her with every fiber of her body there is no one in this world who could ever hold a candle to her wife. She knew from the moment this woman walked into her life that she would go to the ends of the earth and back for her.
Neither know what the future holds for them and their family but as long as they had each other nothing was off limits. Their love for each other is a once in a lifetime experience, no matter how many dark days they would have they knew they would always come out into the brightness together stronger then before.
