Alright, last chapter. Maybe, I'm not actually sure. After this, I will be working on the sequel to "The Betrayed Guardian." Make sure to check that out. But enough about the future, let us get into the finale of this story, maybe...
Theo P.O.V.
Percy and I hopped into a taxi and we headed for the Empire State Building. The typical New York traffic made it take 30 minutes, but didn't have a time limit looming over us so it doesn't matter.
We walked into the lobby, looking a little roughed up, but not too much worse than you would if you had just fallen down in the street, so it wasn't too weird.
I walked up to the guard at the desk. He was reading his book, and ignoring everyone and everything. "600th floor please." I say.
He waits for a few moments before responding, without looking up from his book. "Ain't no such thing kid."
"We need an audience with Zeus." Percy says.
The guard looks up with a disbelieving smile. "I'm sorry, who?"
I roll my eyes before dropping the backpack with the master bolt in it, slightly open, into his lap. "This fix your memory?" I ask.
The guard looked inside at the metal cylinder, not getting what it was for a few seconds. Then his face went pale. "That isn't..."
"It is. Now we need to get to the 600th floor." I say, speaking like I'm talking to a 3 year old.
The guard looks at me with slight distaste before handing me the keycard that takes us up to Olympus. "Insert this in the security slot. Make sure nobody else is in the elevator with you." he adds.
Percy and I walked towards the elevator. We waited a few minutes for an empty elevator before stepping in.
As soon as the elevator doors closed, I slipped the key into the slot. The card disappeared and a new button appeared on the console, a red one that said 600.
Percy pressed it and then our ride to Olympus began. With a few minutes of questionable music choice, the elevator doors opened.
Now, I've always had a fear of heights, even in my previous life,, but this is a big nope. We were standing on a narrow stone walkway in the middle of the air. Below us was Manhattan, from the height of an airplane. In front of us, white marble steps wound up the spine of a cloud, into the sky. My eyes followed the stairway to its end, where my brain just could not accept what I saw.
Now, Olympus is hard to describe, but seeing it was definitely infinitely better seeing it than reading about it. From the top of the clouds rose the decapitated peak of a mountain, its summit covered with snow. Clinging to the mountainside were dozens of multileveled palaces, a city of mansions, all with whitecolumned porticos, gilded terraces, and bronze braziers glowing with a thousand fires. Roads wound crazily up to the peak, where the largest palace gleamed against the snow. Precariously perched gar-dens bloomed with olive trees and rosebushes. I could make out an open-air market filled with colorful tents, a stone amphitheater built on one side of the mountain, a hippo-drome and a coliseum on the other. It was an Ancient Greek city, except it wasn't in ruins. It was new, and clean, and col-orful, the way Athens must've looked twenty-five hundred years ago.
We didn't have a time limit, so we took a little time navigating our way through the city. The market place was incredibly busy, and we drew a number of curious looks walking past it. Some dealers tried to sell us ambrosia on a stick, how that's better than normal ambrosia, I'm not sure. Another was selling shields. A different one was offering a genuine replica of the Golden Fleece. Is that non-intentional foreshadowing? Was it intentional? Am I thinking too far into it? Who knows?
We passed the 9 muses having a concert. The audience was a collection of dryads, naiads, satyrs, and people who can only be minor gods and goddesses. Everyone seemed to be in a great mood, despite the possible civil war. A few of them turned and whispered to themselves.
My first thought of the Olympian palace was that it was really white and looked like the inside of a hospital. That's right, that's what I connected the Palace of the Gods to, a hospital. Zeus would hate me.
We walked up some steps into a big courtyard. Past that, was the throne room. The Throne Room of the Gods. A really big room where powerful people debate things that often don't matter. You can choose your interpretation.
Anyways, the Throne Room was much bigger than the word "room" implies. It was about the size of the cabin area at Camp Half-Blood. Twelve thrones, built for beings the size of Hades, were arranged in an inverted U, just like the cabins at Camp Half-Blood. An enormous fire crackled in the central hearth pit. The thrones were empty except for two at the end: the head throne on the right, and the one to its immediate left. I recognized them from their book descriptions, Poseidon and Zeus.
Zeus saw us walk and immediately did something that caused lightning to shoot into the air. Since he didn't have his master bolt yet, it must have been a normal-level lightning bolt. Almost immediately, the gods began to arrive. I don't remember this happening in The Lightning Thief…
Once all the gods and goddesses had arrived, Percy and I walked into the middle of the room. I was nervous, but from her hearth, Hestia gave me a warm and friendly smile, giving me courage.
We both knelt at Poseidon's throne. "Father." Percy said.
I can literally hear Zeus get irritated. "Should you not address the master of the house boys?" he asks.
Poseidon replies, "Peace brother, they defer to their father first, is that not right?"
"You still claim them then?" Zeus asked, menacingly. "You claim these children whom you sired against our sacred oath?"
"I have already told you I should not have done what I did brother, let us leave it at that. Now, should we not let them speak?" asked Poseidon.
"I already spared them once. They dared to fly through my domain, I should have struck them from the sky." grumbled Zeus.
"And risk destroying your own symbol of power? Now, let the boys speak." Poseidon says, with a slightly threatening tone at the end of his statement.
Zeus grumbled some more. "I shall listen," he decided. "Then I shall make up my mind whether or not to cast these boys down from Olympus."
"Perseus and Theseus, look at me." Poseidon says.
We did. I'm not sure what Percy saw, but I saw a man that has to hide his true feelings away in order to protect us. A father who underneath a mask, loves us both very much.
"Address Lord Zeus, boys," Poseidon told me. "Tell him your story."
So we did. I took Zeus's master bolt out of the backpack and placed it at the foot of his throne after we had finished. During the reveal of Ares, all eyes turned to Ares, who was squirming in his throne.
After we finished speaking, there was an uncomfortably long silence.
Zeus opened his palm. The lightning bolt flew into it. As he closed his fist, the metallic points flared with electricity, until he was holding what looked more like the classic thunderbolt, a twenty-foot javelin of arcing, hissing energy that made the hairs on my scalp rise.
"I sense the boys tell the truth," Zeus muttered. "But that Ares would do such a thing ... it is most unlike him."
"He is proud and impulsive," Poseidon said. "It runs in the family."
"Father, surely you can not believe these brats over me, your son. Right?" asked Ares.
"Lord Zeus, if you question the validity of our claims, I would be perfectly ok with swearing an oath." I offer.
Zeus waves me off dismissively. "It's alright boy, I believe you and your brother. While I may dislike my brother, he and his children are known to be very loyal, and it is clear to me your allegiance lies to Olympus for the time being."
"Lord Zeus?" asked Percy.
"Yes?"
"Ares didn't act alone. Someone else, something else, came up with the idea."
"Yes Lord Zeus. We were having dreams, and Lord Ares mentioned dreams on accident before we fought. We've been in the presence of Lord Hades, so I am certain it wasn't him communicating with us. The dreams often had us looking into the pit of Tartarus, or at least standing on the edge. The voice that spoke to us.. it felt… almost older than the gods." I explain, trying to make it obvious without making it too obvious.
Poseidon and Zeus looked at each other. They had a quick, intense discussion in Ancient Greek. I only caught one word. Father. Poseidon made some kind of suggestion, but Zeus cut him off. Poseidon tried to argue. Zeus held up his hand angrily. "We will speak of this no more."
"Now, Perseus was it? Wait outside of the throne room for your brother. The council has some questions for him." Zeus commands.
Percy looks at me worried before bowing and leaving the room. Great. This won't go well.
"Now tell me boy, how do you explain the weapon you used to fight Ares and the power you used to summon it to your hand?" asked Zeus. FAN FLIPPIN TASTIC! The one question I can't answer.
I'm wracking my brain for a response the gods will buy when, "Brother, the weapon and powers were a gift from me. My sons are the most likely candidate for the great prophecy, and I wished for one of them to have an edge. I gave them to Theo because he was the younger, so he could play a more supportive role. Giving that power to my older son, along with him being the Prophecy child, might have led to him having negative qualities." Poseidon says.
I look at my dad in shock. He looks at me and I send him a look of gratification. He nods, so subtle I barely saw it.
"Well boy, is this true?" Zeus asks.
"Yes my lord." I respond, head lowered.
"I shall accept this, but I wish for a demonstration. Here." Zeus waves his hand and a straw dummy appears in the middle of the throne room. "Destroy this with your weapon. Then, toss it away and summon it to you."
"Your wish is my command Lord Zeus." I say. I draw my lightsaber before slashing the dummy in half, before slicing its head off on its way to the floor. Then, I toss the saber to my father, who catches it out of instinct. He lays it in his open palm and I pull it back to my hand.
"This is an interesting development. The council will watch you with great interest." Zeus says. "You may leave." I bow to the gods and goddesses before walking out of the door.
Percy was waiting for me, when he saw me, relief flooded his face. "Theo, you're still alive! What did they want with you?" he asked.
"They just wanted to see me lightsaber and powers." I tell him. We turn to leave when the throne doors open behind us. Poseidon steps out, before closing the doors behind and facing us.
"Could you both spare a moment of your time?" he asked. Percy and I share a glance that says, 'why not.'
I nod.
"I can't express this in front of the other gods, for they would simply use you against me, but I want you both to know I love you both very much and I am so proud of you. Fighting the god of war at 12 and each landing a hit, that is unheard of." Poseidon says.
"Thank you Father. If you don't mind me asking, it was your father that you suspect to be the one in the pit, Kronos, wasn't it." I say.
"Names have power son, never forget that. But yes, our father is the one I believe to be speaking from the pit. "What worries me is that his influence was enough to steal a symbol of power from the King of the Gods, and enough to influence an Olympian to help him." Poseidon says.
"Father, he is healing. He used a son of Hermes from camp to steal both the master bolt and Hades's helm of darkness. The Great Prophecy, the one you mentioned that has to do with us, could it be related to this? Could Kronos be the reason it was made?" I asked.
"It could very well be, however, my brother has made it clear that we may not speak of the subject. I trust you are going to confront the son of Hermes when you get to camp?" asks Poseidon.
"Yes Father." Percy says.
"Good. I need to warn you that I will not be able to present in your lives as much as I want to, but that won't stop me from seeing you every once in a while." Poseidon says.
"I understand dad." I say. Percy nods his agreement.
"That is good to know. Now, I will transport you to camp. I know you didn't get any rewards for your service to Olympus, so I will do so myself. Your mother will be receiving monthly checks from me, which should help with any money problems. It won't be anything crazy, but it will help." Poseidon says.
"Permission to hug you sir!" I shout, faking a military personnel's discipline.
Poseidon smiles at my childishness. "Permission granted. Both of you. Hug your old man."
We do so. He smells like our cabin, like a gentle ocean breeze. With my eyes closed, I feel our father teleporting us to Camp. We appear on Half-Blood Hill, right next to Thalia's tree. "I'm sorry, but I must return to the seas. Remember, I love both of you. Tell your mother I miss her company." He says. Then suddenly, he was just gone, dissolved into an ocean breeze.
I watched Percy brush a small tear from his eye. I noticed I also had a slight tear dripping down my face, so I wipe it away. "Percy, Luke will probably try to get one of us alone. I think it'll be you first, since you're the eldest. I'll follow you, to wherever he takes you, and we'll take him together, sound good?" I ask.
"Yeah, ok. Have you noticed that while you're the younger sibling, you've been making a lot of plans that involve bossing me around since the quest started?" asked Percy.
"2 things. One, 17 seconds. Two, my plans work pretty well. I don't wanna hear it." I respond.
"Oh yeah, those 17 seconds don't make you any older. But I will agree, your plans have worked so far."
"Those 17 seconds mean everything to me." I argue.
"You know, no matter what you say about those 17 seconds, they exist, and I will always be 17 seconds older than you. No matter what. Those 17 seconds, they belong to me." Percy says.
"Percy, that last part was a little weird."
"Yeah, I realize that now. Anyways, enough about that, let's go into camp and show them we aren't dead." Percy says.
"That's a good idea." I say.
Together, we walk across the border and into camp. Almost immediately, I hear a voice shout, "They're back!"
Being the first campers to return from a quest in a while, everyone treated us like we had already killed Kronos. We got laurel wreaths, a feast in our honor, we led a procession to the camp bonfire, and we burnt the burial shrouds made for us. All of this included Annabeth and Grover by the way.
Annabeth's shroud was so beautiful, gray silk with embroidered owls all over it. Percy told her it seemed a shame not to bury her in it. She punched him and told him to shut up. I personally agreed with Percy, but I knew better than to say that aloud.
Now, since both me and Percy were on the quest, we didn't have anyone to make shrouds for us. The Ares cabin volunteered to do ours. However, in a mystery that nobody could solve, 2 shrouds had appeared in the middle of the night, right next to the camp hearth. They were both sea green, with large tridents at chest level. When inspecting them, I noticed a small campfire on the bottom of one of them, along with a note.
The note read,
Dear Theo, in case you can't tell, I made shrouds for both you and your brother. I couldn't allow my nephew's children to desecrate something made to honor fallen heroes, especially something made to honor my friend. I'm glad that you are able to burn them yourselves.
Your Friend, Hestia
P.S. You need to Iris Message your mom. Also, the gods left you and your brother a present, it's on your bed. I recommend not opening it yourselves, or at least not opening without looking into it.
Wow, what a way to hint that you left Medusa's severed head in our room. On a more serious note, it's awesome that Hestia would do this for us. She's a great friend to have, it seems.
A bonus of the gifted shrouds was that Annabeth got to get back at Percy by saying it was a shame he didn't burn along with his shroud. So that was nice… and by nice, I mean amusing.
We sat around the campfire answering questions from campers about the quest. Grover was showing off his new searcher license to all his satyr friends. The only, slight annoyance, was the Ares cabin glaring at us, both for disgracing their father and for not getting to use their shrouds. Eh, I could deal with it.
After the campfire, Percy and I Iris Messaged our mother and told her about the quest, leaving out the more dangerous parts of course. She told us how really upset Gabe was about the half a million phone calls he received from Los Angeles, but I honestly couldn't care less. I told her about the surprise package that was on our bed, and told her the choice was up to her. She said she'd think about it before we ended the call.
A few days later, we received a letter about how Gabe had mysteriously disappeared. On an unrelated note, Mom had sold her first and last piece of statuary. Completely unrelated. So unrelated that if you were to think that they were related in any way, you would be incredibly wrong.
Nope, not related at all.
Mom told us that she would support our decision to either stay at camp year round or only for summer, whichever we should choose, she would support it.
We told her we loved her and ended the call.
Grover told us on the night of the 4th of July that he was leaving on his quest for Pan. We all wished him luck, even if I knew what would happen to him.
Strangely, Luke didn't make his move until the last day of summer. That day, we received our bead necklaces. The bead for this year was a pitch black bead with 2 sea green tridents on it. "The bead commemorates the first children of the Sea God at this camp, and the quest they undertook into the darkest part of the underworld to stop a war!" Luke exclaimed.
Everyone at camp stood, but I knew today was the day. Luke had to make his move, or he wouldn't be positive he could.
That afternoon, I heard a disturbance in the Force. Yes, I know how cheesy that is, but it was because my brother was feeling distress, meaning Luke probably had cornered him in the woods. Following the disturbance, I found myself at the creek, basically where the Ares cabin ambushed us in Capture the Flag. I came just at the right time apparently. I unhook my lightsaber and wait.
"You make it sound like you're leaving." Percy said.
Luke gave him a twisted smile. "Oh, I'm leaving, all right, Percy. I brought you down here to say goodbye."
He snapped his fingers. A small fire burned a hole in the ground at Percy's feet. Out crawled something glistening black, about the size of my hand. A scorpion.
Percy started for Riptide.
"I wouldn't," Luke cautioned. "Pit scorpions can jump up to fifteen feet. Its stinger can pierce right through your clothes. You'll be dead in sixty seconds."
"You." Percy said.
Luke stood calmly and brushed off his jeans.
"I saw a lot out there in the world, Percy," Luke said. "Didn't you feel it, the darkness gathering, the monsters growing stronger? Didn't you realize how useless it all is? All the heroics, being pawns of the gods. They should've been overthrown thousands of years ago, but they've hung on, thanks to us half bloods."
"Luke ... you're talking about our parents," Percy said.
He laughed. "That's supposed to make me love them? Their precious 'Western civilization is a disease, Percy. It's killing the world. The only way to stop it is to burn it to the ground, start over with something more honest."
"You're as crazy as Ares."
His eyes flared. "Ares is a fool. He never realized the true master he was serving. If I had time, Percy, I could explain. But I'm afraid you won't live that long."
Before Luke could get too far into his villain monologue, I decided now was a good time to reveal myself. I force pull the pit scorpion off of Percy, towards me, and slice it out of the air using my now ignited lightsaber. Boring conversation anyways.
"Hello There." I said. I'm sorry, I couldn't resist.
"Ah, the younger brother comes to save the elder, how… refreshing." Luke says.
Luke reaches out, fast as lightning, and grabs Percy by the throat. He starts to squeeze, causing Percy to try to get out of his grip. "Let him go Luke." (Yes I'm doing this)
Luke ignores me, and continues to choke Percy. "Let him go!" I say, more forcefully. Percy drops to the ground, still alive and conscious, but needing to catch his breath.
"Kronos. That's who instructed you to steal the bolt and helm. But Ares wasn't apart of the plan, he found you out?" I both state and ask.
"You need to be cautious about names. But yes, Lord Kronos instructed me to be the thief. Ares wasn't part of the plan, but Lord Kronos was able to salvage my mistake." he says.
"You have allowed this dark lord of the Titans to twist your mind… until you have become the very thing you swore to destroy, a monster." I say. Yes, I will be leaning into the Mustafar duel. Shut up.
"Don't lecture me Theo. I've seen through the lies of the gods. I will bring peace and security to the lives of the demigods. Join me, and together we can save the demigods from the oppression of Olympus." Luke says.
"Luke, you know I can't do that."
"Don't make me kill you." Luke says.
"Luke, my allegiance is to the demigods, to Olympus!" I shout.
"If you're not with me, then you are my enemy." Luke says, drawing Backbiter.
"Very well, I will do what I must." I say, raising my lightsaber.
"You will try." Luke says, before lunging at me.
I swat his jab away, and our fight begins. Luke is clearly a better swordsman, but my unique weapon and fighting styles slightly even the playing field. Plus, the creek is right next to me, so I can potentially get my water boost need be.
He feints a slash at my left and transitions into a downward swing from above his head. I read his feint and am already in position to block. He starts with a series of slashes, jabs, and stabs. I back up, blocking each one, before my feet are in the creek. I smile and press my new advantage. I back up a few more steps, before circling Luke to make it so we are both in the middle of the creek. Then, I begin my attack.
I parry Luke's last attack before slashing at his neck. He easily dodges, but I don't give him any space to breathe. I can only guess that as Kronos gave Luke the sword, it's blessed in some way, otherwise it wouldn't have lasted this long. I feint a stab at Luke's head before slashing at his legs. He reads my feint and jumps over my slash. Next, I start attacking mercilessly, giving him no time to even think. Finally, I get a small cut on his arm, and in his shock, I kick him in his chest, sending him stumbling back a few steps.
Luke examines his new cut with surprise. "Your overconfidence is your weakness." I tell him.
"Your faith in your friends is yours." He replies almost immediately. "I'm sure you expected your brother to be here for your fight, but look." He points at where Percy had been recovering, only for Percy to not be there. "Even your brother has abandoned you. I will give you one last chance, since you have proven yourself a capable warrior. Join me, and together we can help save the lives of demigods." Luke almost pleads.
"Never."
"I should have known you couldn't be turned." Luke says with a sneer.
"Luke, the gods may not be great rulers or parents, but they are better than the alternatives. Kronos is evil!" I shout.
"From my point of view, the gods are evil!" he replies.
"Then you are lost!" I shout. Hmm, it's really weird that Luke is responding like someone was scripting his lines to sound like lines from Star Wars… huh… weird.
Luke charges at me, which I stop by slashing in front of me before he reached me. We battle for a few more minutes, the sound of Backbiter clashing against my lightsaber growing louder and louder with every exchange. Suddenly, Luke doubles his speed and Backbiter hits my foot. I fall, landing back first in the river. My lightsaber falls out of my hand and Luke kicks it away. Luke stands over me, Backbiter in hand. "This is the end for you young one, I wish it were otherwise."
As Luke raises Backbiter, I force push him away, causing him to fly a few feet before he lands on his feet. I force pull my lightsaber back to my hand. "How did you do that?" He asks, bewildered.
"It's a gift." I say sarcastically. It's true, but the way I said it doesn't imply that.
I raise my lightsaber, and our blades collide once more.
Third Person P.O.V.
Spark flew through the air, only to immediately be dampened when they landed in the creek below the two, clashing warriors. The stop silently agreed to stop for a moment to catch their breath. "What now Theo, are we to be two warriors, endlessly fighting an epic battle, until one of us tires?" asks Luke.
"Or you could just surrender?" Theo suggests. Luke shakes his head and the two are back at it again. Meanwhile, Percy had snuck back to Camp to gather some reinforcements. He was currently leading said reinforcements, Annabeth and half of her cabin, Chiron, Beckendorf, Travis and Connor, and a few more, to the battlefield.
Theo's back was to the approaching reinforcements, but Luke saw them as soon as they cleared the tree line. Luke immediately raised his free hand to his lips and made the loudest whistle possible. Almost as if on cue, a dozen hellhounds jumped out of the woods. While the campers, including Theo, dealt with the hellhounds, Luke made his escape.
Theo P.O.V.
I skipped another rock across the lake. Being a son of Poseidon, it makes upwards of 15 skips on average, before finally sinking.
"I can't believe I let him get away." I mutter. Once my reinforcements arrived, and Luke had escaped, I had a few questions to answer about my lightsaber to those who hadn't seen it. It wasn't fun, especially with half the Athena cabin being there, but I managed to get through it.
I was currently sulking on the camp's beach, beating myself up for letting Luke escape. If we had captured him, I could have convinced him he was on the wrong side almost immediately, rather than let him plan for a year on how to poison Thalia's tree. I kick the rest of my skipping stones into the water, and turn to leave. I see Silena Beauregard walking along the beach, heading to the cabin area. Well, maybe I can stop one person from joining Kronos.
"Silena!" I shout, running towards her. She turns around at her name, looking at the 12 year old boy she barely knows sprinting towards her.
"Sorry Theo, but you're a little young for me." She says.
"What- no! That's not… Look, can I talk to you in private?" I ask.
"I guess, just don't try anything funny." she says.
"I wouldn't dream of it." I say with a small smile.
We walk over to the woods, and walk in for maybe 30 seconds before she turns to me.
"What?" she asks.
"I know what Luke gave you. The scythe charm. We need to talk about that." I say.
"What are you talking about?" she asks. This is gonna be really awkward if he hasn't given it to her yet. But, besides when he poisoned Thalia's tree, this is the only real time he can give it to her.
"Don't lie to me Silena. He accidentally let something slip." I say, lying through my teeth.
"Fine. He gave me a charm and told me to use it to keep him updated on what happens in Camp, so what?" she asks.
"Silena, did you uh… hear what happened to Luke earlier?" I ask.
"No, what happened? I mean, I haven't seen him since this afternoon?" she asked.
"Silena, there is no easy way to put this. Luke betrayed Olympus. He attacked me and my brother at the creek. He stole the master bolt." I explain.
"What? Is this some kind of joke? I may not know Luke incredibly well like Annbeth, but I do know that that isn't something he would do!" she shouts.
I raise my hands in surrender. "Silena, there are around a dozen witnesses who saw Luke attacking me. But this isn't about Luke, this is about the charm he gave you. I'm going to give you 3 options. Number 1, you keep the charm and keep spying for Luke. I turn you in, and the gods will most likely decide your punishment. Option 2, you give me the charm, I destroy it, and I promise I won't tell anyone about this little chat. Option 3, my personal favorite, is you keep the charm, but you act as a double agent for me. I'll give you more details depending on what you choose." I offer.
Silena looks taken aback.
"Are you blackmailing me?" she asks.
"I mean, I guess a tiny bit." I answer. "But I do want you to know this is your choice. However, I couldn't live with myself if someone was hurt because of something I could have prevented, and I don't know if you could either."
"Good, I just wanted to get that out of the way. Alright, I'll take double agent for 600 Alex." Silena says.
"Was that a Jeopardy reference?" I ask.
"Maybe." she says. "Now, give me details."
"You'll act as a double agent, answering to me. Anything Luke asks for that is important, you ask me what to tell him. If I ask you to tell him something, you do. If it's not important, give him what he asks for. If you have any questions, Iris message me." I say.
Am I pushing a lot onto her, a little bit. Do I regret it? No. if she knew what her actions led to without my interference, she would understand perfectly. I just can't tell her how I know what will happen.
"Theo, thanks for telling me about what Luke did and for giving me the option to change. You could have easily just told everyone, but you didn't… why?" Silena asks.
"Well, for 1, I think most people deserve second chances, you haven't even done anything yet, so you're fine. 2, I'd like to think I'm nicer than to put away someone innocent with knowing full well that they are innocent." I answer.
"I suppose that makes sense." Silena says.
"Alright then, see ya!" I shout, running away.
Linebreak
We stood on Half-Blood Hill. Annabeth had just told us goodbye, and ran off to meet her mortal family at the bottom of the mortal side of the hill.
"So, we are heading back to moms, yeah?" I ask.
"Theo, we talked about this last night. Yes. In fact…" he says.
I turn around. Mom's car had just come to a stop, right behind Annabeth's family car. Percy and I smiled, before running down the hill to meet our mother.
Was it a weird place to leave it, yeah, a little. But it's the end of the story anyways, so it doesn't matter. So yeah, that concludes The Second Thief. I do plan on coming back to this series, and I hope to get all the way through HoO, but should that happen, it will be a ways off. I am now going to be working on the sequel to Percy Jackson: The Betrayed Guardian, which is called "The Great War." The first chapter is already on my profile, so you can check that out. Welp, this is me officially ending this story, so thank you for reading…. and goodnight!
