B.N.T= Before Nine-tails
Chapter 1: Fall of the Four Nations
For Millennia the world has lived with some truths.
Chi is the lifeforce that connects everyone together and allows those few to bend, or manipulate the four physical elements (air, water, earth, and fire) and finally energy itself.
Only the Avatar is capable of mastering more than one bending art.
The Avatar is the human embodiment of light and peace, connected with the Avatar spirit Raava. The Avatars purpose is to master the four elements and keep balance between the four nations of the world and between mankind and spirits.
Raava and Vaatu, the spirit of darkness and chaos, have been locked in battle since the creation of time itself.
Upon death, Raava causes its avatar to reincarnate into the next Nation, creating a cycle of fire, air, water, and earth.
This cycle will break if the avatar is killed while in its Avatar State, Raava is removed from her Avatar and destroyed, or the Avatar Spirit is compromised by a spiritual infection.
These truths make up reality as we know it, and has only been broken once, when Avatar Aang disappeared from the world without a trace, leaving the world to war between the Fire Nation and the rest of the Nations. One hundred years later, the Avatar returned, and within a year once again brought balance to the world with the help of those who surrounded him.
But the struggles of the Avatar are not over.

There was one word to describe the events that have taken place this night: Chaos. The time of the Four Nations was over. All of the major landmasses were moved, the boundaries crashing into each other to create one music continent, killing thousands and crushing villages.
Floating high in the sky, the current Avatar, Kaguya Ĺtsutsuki, had had enough. Humanity was flawed and violent, and the way of chi, the art of bending, was nothing but a weapon for bullies to use on those less powerful.
Her eyes glowed blue, and the light slowly bled down her body. When she was completely covered by the blue light, the energy exploded up into a pillar of light. Around the world, benders everywhere were covered in light. Survivors of the continental shifts cried out in dismay as they or those around them lost their bending.
Kaguya slowly fell to the ground, and as the last of the blue light left her, a golden energy was attached to it. The energy converged and became a spirt. This spirt was Raava, the Avatar Spirit and the Spirit of Light and Peace. Raava collapsed to the ground, weakened from how her Avatar rejected her.
Kaguya looked down on the weakened, smaller spirit in disgust and turned her back. As she walked away, a slit appeared on her forehead, and an eye with a strange, ringed pattern opened.
As Kaguya walked away from her life as the Avatar, she made a promise to herself. If humanity would not listen to the words of an Avatar, they would obey the will of a Goddess.
Over the many centuries, the former nations learned to evolve without bending. Chakra was embraced as the new energy. Unlike chi, anyone with chakra was able to use it. What was formerly known as the Four Nations became the Elemental Continent.
Through the gift of Chakra, wars once again started, being fought by mercenary clans of shinobi, humans who utilize chakra in order to accomplish great feats. Eventually, two shinobi from opposite sides of a war came together with similar goals, to create peace in the world. With a truce made between their two clans, they created a village called Konohagakure.
Other clans started to join them, and similar villages were created all over the continent for protection. The Elemental Continent created five major countries known as the Five Great Shinobi Countries, named after the five elements. Each Country had a hidden village that would defend it, made up of clans of shinobi.

~Nine-Tails Attack~
Kushina Uzumaki, shinobi of Konohagakure, was barely holding onto life. Rings surrounded her eyes not only from giving birth but also from having the Kyuubi, a nine-tailed fox demon, extracted from her. She reached out weakly and cupped her child's face from where they were both laying on a bed.
Naruto
As she closed her eyes in exhaustion, a blue flash of light enveloped the room. When it faded, both she and the sleeping child were gone.
A moment later, a man with spiky blond hair, wearing a long white Haori with the words Fourth Hokage appeared in a burst of yellow light. Minato Namikaze's eyes widened as he looked upon the empty room that he left his wife and child in.
"Kushina!"
Hundreds of miles away, Kushina and Naruto would appear in a temple high in the mountains, surprising the monks that lived there. As they looked on. A blue spirit appeared from the boy, though still connected to him. The monks gasped as the spirit appeared, recognizing the Avatar Spirit from the carvings on their temple.
"Raava!" They cried, believing the spirit to have been lost in existence. The spirit seemed to loom over them.
"Dark times are approaching." She said softly. "I have chosen this child as my new Avatar. As protectors of the Old Ways, I task you now with protecting this child, for we will once more bring balance to the world. Train and prepared him to survive in this world"
The monks rushed to their two new inhabitants.
"BRING THE HEALER" One shouted "She's still alive!"
As the monks rushed to save the mother, Raava once more sank into its new avatar.
The Avatar Has Returned
Authors note: Ok I understand that I have disappeared for a long time. (years). As I have said before, I am discontinuing my old stories, and will either re-work them or start on some new ideas. I don't believe my writing style has improved any but am hoping that I can still have followers who enjoy my fics. This will hopefully be my shortest chapter.
