I got the idea for this story after I got reintroduced to Magi-Nation. All of the characters from Magi-Nation will be based off of the cards from the card game, not the cartoon or video games. This will also be my first attempt at a harem fic. Though the girls will show up through out the entire story and not all at once in the beginning. Most if not all of the girls will be from the Magi-Nation. Now onto the first chapter.

Chapter 1

Harry had just arrived at his vault with Hagrid and Griphook to get some money to pick up his school supplies. After the door was opened he saw piles of galleons, sickles, and knuts. He slowly walked in and started putting money in the pouch that Griphook had given him. As he did this he looked around the vault more and noticed what looked like a staff leaning against one wall.

When he got done gathering his money he walked over to the staff and took a closer look at it. It was taller than him and carved in a very unusual way. The top had what looked like a dragons head with wings coming off from where the ears might be. The rest of the staff had a serpentine design with a couple of spots where you could hold it.

When he got closer he noticed that there was an envelope taped to the head of the staff that said 'To Harry'.

He took the envelope off of the staff with a shaky hand and opened it carefully. He noticed that there was a letter and a ring inside. He took the letter out and unfolded it.

'Dear Harry,

If you are reading this then your father and I are dead. Know that we both love you very much.

What I want to tell you only your father and our closest friends know. I am not originally from this world. I come from another planet called the Moonlands. There everyone who you would call Human was known as a Magi. We could summon beings known as Dream Creatures. We used them to fight each other, kept as pets, and help in doing chores or other daily things.

There are twelve regions of the Moonlands. You could call them different countries with people inhabiting each one.

The region I came from is known as Cald. It's a region filled with volcanoes and fire. I was sent to this world that my family could be Ambassadors to this world from the Moonlands.

Unfortunately one of the other regions sent someone else to try and conquer this world.

When we got here there were some unusual things that happened that made it so that my family was unable to reveal themselves to the world. I wrote all about it in my journal, which is in the Potter family main vault.

You my son are half Human Wizard and half Moonlands Magi. You will be able to use both the magic of Earth and the Moonlands. The ring inside the envelope is one of mine that I brought with me when I came to this world. It contains the essence of a Dream Creature from the Moonlands known as 'Blizzard Hyren'. To summon him put the ring on and say 'I magine Blizzard Hyren'. He will immediately form in front of you. Doing it inside the vault should be ok for you first time summoning him.

The staff that this was attached to is a relic from my world that I brought with me. It is known as the'Staff of Hyren'. You can use it to make your Hyren's stronger when you summon them. I also found out that on this world it acts like a wand for casting Earthly Magic. So you won't need to get a wand if you don't want to or if you lose the wand.

I suggest you summon Blizzard Hyren and talk to him a bit before you leave the vault.

Love your mother, Lily Potter nee Evans'

Harry looked at the ring that had been in the envelope with the letter. It had a silver band with a pale blue gem in the center. As he looked closer at the gem he saw a symbol etched into it. The symbol was a snowflake at the top with iclcles descending from it.

Harry thought for a few moments about whether or not to use the ring to summon the Blizzard Hyren his mother talked about in her letter. Finally he put it on and said 'I magine Blizzard Hyren.'

What happened next startled him and drew gasp's of astonishment from Hagrid and Griphook by the vault door.

The gem on the ring disappeared, turning into particles of light blue energy. The particles swirled and came together into the form of a two meter high dragon. It had dark blue scales covering its body with light blue iclcle like spikes coming off from its shoulders, back of its wrists, and two smaller ones coming from the top point of its wings.

It stood on its hind legs looking around with its white eyes. It finally looked at Harry and blinked before saying "Is that you James? You seem shorter than the last time I saw you."

Harry blinked in surprise before he answered, "You can talk?"

"Of course I can talk. You've known that since you married Lily. What's wrong with you?" It asked him in its rumbling voice.

Harry bit his lip, then told the dragon-like creature, "I'm not James. I'm Harry. Jame's and Lily's son."

The Hyren tilted its head before it leaned down to look at Harry's face. It then raised its head to the ceiling and roared so loudly it sounded like the strongest winds of the worst storm that Harry had ever heard.

When the Hyren stopped it looked at Harry again with frozen tear tracks running down its face. "I'm sorry Harry, but learning of the loss of my Magi is very painful."

"It's alright. You at least knew my parents. I can't even remember what they looked like," Harry told him with a touch of sadness in his voice.

"If you want I can tell you about them," the Hyren told Harry with a slight smile on his face.

"That would be nice. Though I'm wondering how you knew my mother was dead?" he asked the creature.

"The only reason you would have summoned me was one of two reasons. The first being that she has finally told you about her past and the reason she was sent to this world or she was dead and left me to you to explain it for her," the two meter tall creature said with a slight frown.

"Oh. That makes sense. Is there anything else you think I should know before I put you back into your gem form? I need to get going to pickup my supplies for school," Harry asked him.

"No, though I imagine Sirius has taught you to love a good prank like your father," the Hyren said with a smile on his face.

"Who's Sirius?" Harry asked him with a confused look on his face.

Blizzard Hyren had a deep frown on his face, "Who do you live with Harry?"

"My aunt Petunia, uncle Vernon, and cousin Dudley. Why do you ask?" Harry answered him as a frown started to form on his face.

The Hyren started growling, which sounded like an avalanche. "You were never supposed to be put with her. You were supposed to live with your Godfather Sirus first, your Godmother Alice second, then Amila, Sylvia, or even Pandora. Heck even Molly would have been acceptable. What could have happened to have stopped you from being raised by them?" he asked while looking like he wanted to hurt someone or something.

"What's wrong with my aunt and her family?" Harry asked him.

"Petunia is the black sheep of the family. She was unable to do any Moonlands magic or any of the magic of this world. She hated Lily because she could do both. Lily came to know this as she grew older and made the decision to cut all ties with her. Which caused her a lot of pain," theHyren told him with a sigh.

"Hagrid told me that Professor Dumbledore put me with my aunt," Harry told the strange creature hoping to get more information out of it.

The Hyren rolled his eyes, "Of course he did. Always thinking he knows best. Anyway I'm going to go with you as you get your school supplies and then we're heading to the Moonlands for a month before you head off to school."

"You can take me to my mother's world?" Harry asked with a look of hope on his face.

Blizzard Hyren nodded while saying, "Yes, I can walk you through the incantation that will transport us there."

"Is there still any of my mother's family in the Moonlands?" Harry asked him.

"There should be some in both Cald and Naroom. Though before we talk more about that we should get going to collect your school supplies. Don't forget to take the Staff of Hyren with you," Blizzard Hyren told him while pointing at the staff.

Harry grabbed the staff and started to leave his vault with Blizzard Hyren following behind him.

Griphook stepped in front of Harry stopping him and earning a growl from the Hyren, "Sir, could you please tell me what that creature is that you summoned is?"

"This is Blizzard Hyren. A creature that my mother could summon that was gifted to me by her," Harry told him while gripping the staff tightly.

Griphook chewed on his lip before sighing, "Please follow me. I think the director would like to speak to you."

Harry looked at the Hyren, who just nodded, "Alright, if that will speed things along."

They all got into the cart and headed back towards the surface.
