Hello everybody and welcome to the official rewrite of Avatar: Chaos and Balance.

Before you say anything in the reviews, I will finish the first story don't worry.

This rewrite will have a lot of changes, just so you know.

Disclaimer:

I don't own anything aside from my OC's and some other stuff I might add.

Now on to the story.

Since ancient times bending has been a part of the world.

First gifted to the world by the majestic lion-turtles, whom in turn were gifted the elemental powers by the very first spirits in existence.

It is unknown where the first five spirits came from, some say they were created by a being even mightier than the five spirits, others say the five spirits existed since the beginning of time itself.

The four spirits each representing one element: Air, Water, Fire and Earth gifted the lion-turtles the power of bending.

The fifth spirit refused to give it's power. Thinking that it was far too powerful and destructive for mere mortals to wield.

The Raiju was an ancient spirit, the very essence of Thunder and Lightning, a being of destruction, a walking cataclysm, one of the most powerful spirits. The Raiju grew bored, it wished for someone to wield it's destructive power, for someone to show the superiority of said destructive force. It was that wish which brought the "Children of the Raiju" to the world.

The Raiju would leave a part of itself with a human woman and create a lightningbending child. It would train it's child, knowingly or unknowingly. And then watch as it's offspring commanded the very storms and thunderstorms to it's will.

The world would cower before said offspring, that the Raiju was sure of.

Avatar Aang had accomplished much in his life since he was freed from his cold prison when he was 12. His most notable accomplishment to the world was when he was 13 and defeated Fire Lord Ozai and took away the power hungry emperors bending thus bringing an end to the Hundred Year War, which started when his people were massacred. With the war ended the world could slowly start to return to the harmony that it once held before the genocide of the Air Nomads.

Of all the things he'd done and the titles he'd gained, there were only two moments and titles Aang found the most important. The first was when Aang married his long time lover Katara and gained the title Husband. The second and most important to him came with the birth of his first child and his title had become Father. Aang had never been happier than when he held his firstborn, Bumi in his arms. The feeling grew when he held his second born, Kya and again with his third, Tenzin.

Despite what many believed, Aang did not play favorites with his children. It didn't matter if Tenzin was the first Airbender born since hundred years or that Bumi was not a bender, he loved all of his children equally.

Now, no longer a young man at 65, well technically 165, Aang realized that the world didn't need him as much as it used too. His accomplishments were over, or so he thought. He discovered there was one more title for himself. Grandfather.

"GET THIS OUT OF ME!" Kya cried out as thunder struck in the background. The second child and only daughter of Avatar Aang was entering her 12th hour of labor with her child. The dark skinned water tribe beauty was drenched in sweat as her brown hair was disheveled and stuck to her face in places.

At the same time, Republic City was experiencing the worst thunder storm in it's history. Parts of the city were flooded by the rain, Several telephone poles and buildings had been struck by lighting while many trees had been knocked down by the strong winds. City officials, including Aang's youngest son Tenzin, were trying to calm the masses that were convinced that they had somehow angered a vengeful spirit.

Speaking of said Avatar, Aang was high up above the city in the Avatar state, doing everything he could to try an quell this raging storm. He was doing his best but his best wasn't quite good enough as he could feel the heavy strain he was putting on his body and wasn't sure how much more he could take. One thing he did know though was that this storm wasn't natural, he could feel the a large spiritual presence in the storm, said presence was almost suffocating him. Aang was wondering which spirit they had offended so much that it created this storm.

Back on the island, Kya still hadn't given birth. "Breathe Kya. I can see the babies head, it's almost over." Kya's mother Katara said as she was delivering the baby. The elder Water Tribe woman could sympathize with her daughter, having given birth to three children herself. "Come on sweetheart, one last big push."

Kya screamed as she gave one final big push, while crushing the wooden bed posts with her bare hands. At the same time as the loudest thunder strike made itself known outside.

The room was then filled with the sound of a babies cry. Kya breathed heavily as she took a few moments to catch her breath before she looked over to her mother who was just finishing washing off a screaming baby before wrapping it in a blanket. She walked over to her waiting daughter, with a bright smile on her face.

"Here sweety, meet your son." Katara said happily. Neither woman noticed the storm outside was subsiding.

Kya took the still crying child and held him close. The child looked like a normal water tribe baby, with his brown skin and small tufts of dark brown hair. The child started to quiet down before he only let out a few whimpers before he grew quiet all together, the storm outside ending completely.

The child's eyes scrunched up before he blinked lightly before his eyes opened fully and he looked up to his mother. Giving Kya the view of the most beautiful grey-blue eyes she had ever seen.

Eyes, that in her opinion could rival thunders, when her child grew up.

"He's so beautiful." Kya said as her voice wavered, indicating she was crying.

An hour later Kya was cleaned and moved to a room. The night skies outside leaving a beautiful picture after the storm.

It was then that Aang made himself known.

"Can I come in?" The aged Avatar asked as he poked his head inside.

"Come here dad, meet your grandson." Kya motioned her father to come over with a smile.

Aang slowly made his way towards the bed, his Air Nomad nature making him respect the very ground he walked on.

Aang slowly took the baby in his arms, holding it secure in his hands as if he was afraid it would shatter like glass if he applied to much pressure.

Said baby opened it's eyes. For a short moment Aang's tired and aged eyes became filled with life upon seeing his grandsons life-filled and joy filled eyes.

"Does he have a name?" Aang asked as he held the small child closer.

"It's Kanan." Kya replied.

Aang's eyes widened. He felt a strong spiritual presence and energy coming from Kanan. What surprised him the most was that the presence and energy was the same one he felt in the storm.

"How? Could Kanan's birth have caused this storm." The aged Avatar thought, as he looked a little closer at the small bundle in his arms.

He quickly dismissed the thoughts, he remembered the strange way his daughter got pregnant.

As Aang held the small Kanan in his arms, Katara smiled. But her smile faltered. Being known as the world's greatest healer she knew Aang was very weak. It was all because he was stuck in that iceberg in his Avatar State, it strained his body greatly. She knew her husband wouldn't stay with them for long. But she would cherish the time they had left.

Aang lifted the small Kanan up as the baby giggled happily.

"I just know, you will do great things in life." Aang exclaimed as Kanan kept giggling.

Outside a white wolf could be seen watching, a small smile graced it.

And that's the first chapter of my rewrite.

Like I said before, I will write this rewrite but I will also finish the first story.

Why am I writing this rewrite you may ask. Well I've been thinking about it for a long time, there are several glaring plot holes I've left.

This version will be better, much better. I hope you will like this story as much as the old one. There are gonna be big changes in the story.

By the way you people have to hear a song.
