***Page Break****

Kuro sat at a booth in the back of the club that he and his brothers and sister owned. This club served two purposes. First, it was a great source of income for the eight siblings who worked together here. Second, it was a perfect way to bring in willing donors. All of the siblings were vampires and the only people who knew about it were the willing participants who came to the club to allow their blood to be sucked.

Anyone who was frightened by the siblings or who threatened to turn them in to C3 had their memories erased. Of course, their lives were recently made slightly easier with regards to C3. Kuro's sister, Freyja, had been bonded to Izuna Nobel, C3's weapon developer. Bonding was a strange thing. The siblings all had conflicting feelings about it. Some of them, like Lily, couldn't wait to find their soul mate and become bound to them, but others, like World End (or Wor as he liked to be called) were completely against the idea. In fact, Wor was so against the idea that he refused to drink blood from any human.

The only way for the vampires to find their soul mate is drink the blood of that person. Once the blood is swallowed the bond is initiated and the human soul mate is granted immortality so that they may live with the vampire forever. Because of this risk, the vampires who do partake of the blood of the willing participants make sure to disclose to every human the possibility of becoming bound.

Unfortunately most of the humans either ignore the warning or brush it off as a myth, believing that it could never happen to them. The best example of this was when Hyde became bound to the human, Licht Jekylland Todoroki. Licht fought with Hyde quite often as he blamed the vampire for not forcing him to believe the warning. Those two were exhausting and Kuro tried to avoid them as much as possible.

Kuro's stance on bonding was neutral. It would be rather troublesome, but if it happened then it happened. He was currently alone in his booth, waiting for the humans who had signed up to donate to him tonight. There were three of them coming. It would be their first time here as the legal drinking age in Japan had just been lowered from 20 to 16 only a week before. This would be the first time they were allowed to enter a club without parental supervision and at night.

Hugh was taking full advantage of the new drinking age. He had been turned into a vampire at a very young age so he was excited to get some younger company. He was also neutral about finding his soulmate, but he thought that if he did find that person, they would probably be younger due to his own young age.

Since he did not drink blood from anyone, Wor was given the job of handling the donors and getting them to the correct vampire. It was also his job to give them the warning. Some of the vampires had specific tastes so it was Wor's job to find donors for them who had the correct blood type or hair color, etc. Kuro was watching the dance floor when Wor directed three young men to his table. They approached timidly and when Kuro suddenly looked up at them they all jumped. He chuckled.

"Nervous?" They all nodded. "Don't be. This part is actually pretty fun. Why don't you have a seat?" He gestured to the empty spaces on the rounded bench around his booth. Two of the boys moved to sit on Kuro's right and the other went to his left side. They might not have done this before, but clearly they understood what the vampires wanted. "So, I assume you're all under 20?"

"Yeah, we're all 16." It was one of the boys on his right that spoke. The boy had light brown hair and he seemed slightly more confident than the others.

"We go to school together." This came from the other boy on his right, a shy looking, brunette who kept his eyes on the table.

"Is that so?" Kuro mused. "Well, I'm physically 18, so it's nice to be around someone who looks younger than me. Well, who wants to go first?" He liked to make his donors feel comfortable, but this much conversation was becoming tiring. Kuro wanted to finish this meal and then go home and go to sleep.

"Uh, I...I guess I will," the blonde on his left spoke first. Kuro shrugged and then, moving slowly so as not to startle the boy, he leaned over and gently pulled the boys shirt collar to the side. Every one of the vampires made sure to bite their donors in a place that was easily concealed. When the boy's shoulder was exposed, Kuro gently bit down and began drinking. He felt the boy shiver when he licked the wound to heal it before he pulled back.

"Thanks for the appetizer. Now for the main course," he turned to the shy boy on his right and repeated the actions. "Now for my favorite...dessert." The more confident of the three boys quickly switched places with the brunette and Kuro was surprised when he pulled his own shirt collar aside, offering his shoulder to the vampire.

As he leaned in, Kuro smelled the boy's skin and nearly stopped himself. He smelled so wonderful that something warned Kuro about what was about to happen. Ignoring the warning, he leaned in closer to that delicious scent and bit down. The first swallow sent a jolt of electricity down his spine and he fought the urge to moan. With the second swallow, the boy moaned and suddenly threw his head back.

"What's happening?!" The blonde on Kuro's left sounded terrified and Wor quickly ran over to their table. He took one look and knew immediately what was happening.

"I warned you guys," he said, waving his hand dismissively before walking back to his spot.

When Kuro had finished drinking and licked the wound, they both leaned back against the booth breathing heavily. The boy's friends still looked completely confused and slightly concerned. Neither of them had had that type of reaction to having their blood sucked so they weren't sure what had just happened.

"What he warned us about...we're bonded now right?" The boy had regained his breath and Kuro was happy to find out that at least one of them had paid attention to Wor's warning.

"Yeah."

"So...I'm immortal?"

"Yeah."

"Holy shit, Mahiru! What are you gonna do?" The blonde on Kuro's right still sounded terrified, but at least Kuro learned something.

"Mahiru, huh?"

"Yeah, I'm Mahiru Shirota. What's your name?"

"Sleepy Ash, Sloth, Kuro...take your pick," he shrugged.

"How are you both so calm?!" The blonde was starting to sound less terrified and more angry.

"Ryusei, just calm down. You heard that guy's warning. I'm bonded to him now so I guess we're just trying to get to know each other, since we're soulmates and all..." Mahiru scratched the back of his head nervously. The one he had called Ryusei crossed his arms, looking rather upset.

"Ryusei's right Mahiru. This is kind of huge deal," the shy boy nearly whispered.

"Not you too Koyuki! If this bond thing worked that means that soulmates are real. Aren't you guys at least happy that I found mine?"

The other boys continued to argue with him, but Kuro tuned them out. His focus turned to his newfound soulmate as he took in the features of the boy's face. He had light brown hair that stuck up in random directions, but still managed to look groomed. His eyes were brown and his skin was tanned. From the way he acted with his friends Kuro thought that he seemed much older than just 16. He had a very handsome face and Kuro began to wonder if he deserved to be Mahiru's soulmate.

"Well, we will support you if this is what you want Mahiru," Ryusei was saying as he and Koyuki stood, preparing to leave.

"Thanks guys. That means a lot to me," Mahiru smiled and waved as they left. "So, what happens now?" Mahiru was fidgeting with his fingers and kept his eyes on his hands.

"Do you...ah...wanna come over to my place?" Kuro asked, nervously. He'd never even dated anyone so he was completely at a loss for what to do with a soulmate. He knew that they were supposed to seal the bond, but in order to do that... What if Mahiru changed his mind? What if his new soulmate took one look at how he lived and couldn't stand it? Was this going to end up being like Hyde and Licht? Kuro didn't know if he could handle that.

"I'd love to," Mahiru replied, cutting off Kuro's thoughts. The vampire gave a shy smile and then stood, placing his hands in his pockets. He was surprised when Mahiru stood and hooked his arm through Kuro's. He didn't protest though and proceeded to lead his mate out of the club.

"Do you live nearby?" Mahiru asked as he realized they weren't heading toward a car.

"Just a couple blocks. I live in a condo. We...uh...own the building," Kuro explained, scratching the back of his head with the arm that Mahiru wasn't holding.

"Cool! I can't wait to see it," the younger man smiled brightly. The building was nothing impressive in Kuro's opinion, but Mahiru seemed thrilled all the same when they arrived. He led the younger man up to his condo and locked the door behind them.

The building was set up with enough space to house each of the siblings and their bond mates, should they find one. There were eight condos total. Each one had two bedrooms and an office, a large kitchen with space for dining and an attached living room. The thing that seemed to catch Mahiru's attention though, was the large balcony that opened up off of the living room in Kuro's sixth floor condo.

Kuro was on the top floor and each condo covered half of the building. His floor was shared with Wor since the two of them got along best with each other. Jeje held the condo beneath his which he was grateful for since the third oldest sibling was the quietest of them all. The bottom two floors made up a small parking garage where they stored all of their vehicles.

"Wow," Mahiru breathed as he moved over to the sliding glass door. "May I?" he asked and Kuro nodded silently, watching as his mate excitedly unlocked the door and slid it open before stepping outside. Kuro observed the happiness in the younger man's eyes as he took in the view of the city from the balcony. He found himself moving out onto the balcony, seemingly drawn to be closer to his mate.

"Uh," he started when Mahiru turned toward him suddenly. "There are probably some things we should talk about..."

"Right. First, is it okay if I call you my mate? 'Bond mate' sounds so formal," Mahiru asked, but didn't pause long enough for Kuro to respond. "Also, will we live together now? I currently live with my uncle, but he's almost never home. Crap...I almost forgot...I'll have to find a way to explain this to him. Well, thinking simply, I should just tell him the truth. He's trustworthy and I know he'll understand. Also, is the bite really the only thing that bonds us because as much as I like simple things I really feel like there's something more I'm supposed to do. Like...I feel drawn to be closer to you..." he trailed off and Kuro suddenly realized that in all of his rambling, Mahiru had moved closer and was now standing directly in front of the vampire on the balcony.

"Uh...yes...and if you want to...to answer your first questions," he swallowed, suddenly nervous about answering the last question.

"And the last question?" Mahiru asked quietly, starting to lean forward slightly, his gaze dropping to Kuro's lips. Kuro caught his gaze and found his own moving to Mahiru's lips before jumping back up to his mate's soft brown eyes.

"The bite...starts the bond...it's irreversible, but..." he paused to lick his lips and noted that Mahiru's eyes followed the motion before moving up to lock on his own. As they stared into each other's eyes Kuro finally found the courage to continue, "...to seal the bond, we have to..."

He was cut off by Mahiru's lips crashing into his own, the younger man's arms quickly wrapping around his neck, pulling him closer. Kuro's arms wrapped around his mate's waist and the kiss quickly became heated. Mahiru didn't hesitate to wrap his legs around the vampire's waist when he felt himself being lifted by the strong hands on his thighs. They quickly disappeared into Kuro's bedroom, leaving a trail of clothes behind as they went.

When they joined they both moaned, feeling complete for the first time in their lives. They moved together, seemingly completely in sync. With Kuro's body covering his own, Mahiru felt a deep satisfaction. That aching need to finish what they started at the club slowly dissolved and was replaced by the need to be completely claimed by his mate. He offered himself willingly and totally to the powerful vampire above him, clinging to him desperately as they climbed higher and higher together.

Kuro felt the complete acceptance his mate was offering him made sure to show the younger man exactly how good it made him feel. His hands seemed to instinctually know where to move to bring Mahiru the most pleasure and he didn't hesitate to lavish the younger man.

"Ah, Kuro!" Mahiru cried out as he threw his head back. Kuro bit down on his mate's shoulder and moaned as they both reached their end. A feeling of contentment settled over both of them as Kuro withdrew himself and laid down beside his mate, the younger man instantly curling into him.

When their breathing returned to normal Mahiru spoke. "So, we're completely bonded now huh?" It was less of a question and more of a statement. They could both easily feel how strong the bond was now that they had lain together. Kuro simply nodded and nuzzled his mate's hair.

"Well, thinking simply then, we should rest for tonight and I'll get my friends to help me move in tomorrow," Mahiru yawned, but Kuro blinked.

"You want to live here? Are you sure you're okay with that? I could always move in with you, you know," he offered, not wanting his mate to feel uncomfortable in any way.

"No way! I mean, I live with my uncle. It would be awkward if we...wanted to do that again...and he happened to come home. Anyways! Your place is so much nicer. I love it and I also wouldn't want to make you leave your family," Mahiru smiled brightly again and Kuro found himself returning the smile, if a little awkwardly. He didn't smile often, but he had a feeling he would more often now.

This was all still very new for him and he wasn't entirely sure where to go from here, but Mahiru seemed to have a pretty good idea of what he wanted so the vampire was completely happy to follow the younger man's lead. They would be fine because they had an eternity to figure it all out and Kuro couldn't be happier about that fact. His smile got just a little bit bigger as he dozed off to sleep with his mate curled happily in his arms.
