"Tyson...Tyson" Called out an old man

"Tyson, oye! You lazy butt what are you doing eh?" Grandpa Granger said barging into the dojo, only to find his grandson staring at his pendant lost deep in his thoughts.

"Ah, sorry Gramps I didn't quite see you there" Said Tyson, looking at his old man

"Looks like you like your birthday present, eh?" Said Ryu, sitting next to his Grandson

"Mh, Yes very much grandpa, I love my present," Tyson said, hugging his Grandpa, initially the old man was some-what reluctant but soon he hugged him back.

"Old man, can I ask you something," Tyson said parting away

"Ask away, T-dog," Said, Grandpa

"The story you told me, about this pendant and the sacred beast, is it true?" Tyson asked

"I don't think so Tyson, but that's what the legend says"

"Are the legends always true, Gramps?"

"Ah, I doubt that Tyson. Believing or not believing in them is up to you. More than anything a man must believe in himself, Tyson. Do what you think is right, ask yourself what is right and what is wrong. The day you can differentiate between right and wrong; on that day you can call yourself a legend in a true manner."

Ryu said standing up and tying his apron

"I am sorry gramps but I am not able to understand what you are trying to say?"

"Huh, It is OK, It is not like I expected you to understand it or anything."The old man said and walked away.

Secret dungeon, Land of Sacred beasts

Flashback

"So he is the last protector you were talking about, eh Hilary? Quite a coward he is to be a protector. Looks like you've got the wrong guy. Erase his memory and send him back to his home." A dual-haired guy said, crossing his arms on his chest and leaning against a pillar, closing his eyes. He was wearing a pair of black jeans and a black tank top that he wore under a white shirt.

"Who the heck are you to call me a coward, huh? My name is Tyson Granger and I don't care whether you want to make me a protector or not. All I want from you to do is give my god damn pendant back!" The navy-haired boy shrieked, scuffling.

"Oh, so Mr Tyson Granger, why do you think that I am gonna believe you huh! You could just be a random thief who'd found this pendant fallen somewhere and claimed it to be yours"

"Hey, who the heck are you calling a thief you stubborn donkeybutt!! I don't care what you think about me neither do I want to be protector like you all. I just want my pendant back. I don't want to attain the power in this pendant. All I want is my grandpa to be happy and if he finds out that I lost his precious pedant he would be nowhere near happy!" Tyson screamed

"Oh, so that's it. This sacred pendant means nothing more than a gift to you, does it? I wouldn't blame you, nearly all the city kids I have ever encountered are like you, spoiled and ungrateful brats who care about nothing but themselves. I wouldn't blame them though, they are just of raised like this, ya know Hil. It's there stupid parents who treat them like they ate some sort of prince or princess of the land when they are nothing but a fucking piece of shit. They don't understand the meaning of pain and agony, I don't expect them to either" Kai said

"I am sorry Kai, for a moment I thought he was the one" Hilary said, Tyson was infuriated by Kai's behaviour, he stepped forward to punch him, only when Hilary used her power again and made a pink shield-like layer in front of Kai and herself, though it didn't stop Tyson's punch, his fist crossed the pink layer anyways, his fists on crossing the layer started shining brightly in a colour of blue, much to Kai's surprise the fist hit Hilary's bosom. Hilary blushed hard, Tyson too took his hand back. Kai flung his mouth open in utter shock. He held Tyson by the collar and punched him on his face tightly, surprisingly Tyson was able to dodge it, his eyes became black. His powers as a protector started showing up. He raged up, the bruise on his cheek that was caused by Kai's punch also started healing.He kicked Kai, held him by his shirt's collar and sent him flying away. Kai fell on the ground nearly 20 meters away on his buttocks. His eyes started blurring, he'd passed out (fainted not dead). Hilary came running towards Kai. She kept her hand on his chest and closed her eyes. Her hands started shinning pink again, she pressed her hands on her chest, that sort looked like she was performing a CPR. A pink translucent ball appeared. Hilary chanted something and Kai was back to his senses again.

He tried to raise his head but failed as he was lacking energy. Hilary dropped herself atop his body and started crying.

"Brother, I am sorry I wasn't able to protect you. Please don't leave me ever again" She cried

"Heh, It's OK Hil, I know you tried your best," He said kissing her head. "Now, for Mr Granger. We gotta do something" Both of them marched towards Tyson. Kai sighed and finally said

" Tyson you are a protector too, much to my dismay. You would be joining our team from next week. So be prepared" Kai said

"Hm" Replied Tyson

"Oh, and don't ever touch Hilary like that" He said and limped away
