"Shhhh, Keefe. Sophie's asleep!" said a familiar voice.

"Well, thanks to That Boy, she's not!" said another voice. Sophie opened her eyes. Her parents, Keefe, Elwin, Biana, Della, and Alden were all crowded around her.

Sophie groaned, "What happened? How long was I out for?"

"Here, drink this," Edaline said, handing Sophie a Bottle of Youth, "You passed out after the battle at Everglen. You were out for five days. We thought we lost you."

"You totally Fostered it again, " Keefe said, grinning. Grady glared at him, but that made Keefe's grin bigger.

"We missed you, Sophie. Don't do that again," Grady said, giving her a hug. Sophie hugged him back, until she realized someone was missing.

"Fitz! Did you find him?" Sophie asked as she jumped out of bed. Everyone shook their heads.

"Careful, Sophie! Your body needs more rest," Elwin said, examining her cells.

"If she doesn't rest, I 'll use my ability to make her. Oh wait, I'm not fully trained yet," Keefe said, earning a glare from Grady.

"The collective and Mr. Forkle will be here soon," Alden said, "If that 's okay with you, Grady."

Grady nodded his head, "That's fine, Alden." Sophie just realized Keefe was smirking at her.

"What?" Sophie asked him.

"Setting a new style, Foster?" Keefe asked, pointing to her tunic, which was covered with alicorns. She scowled at him.

"Can everyone leave the room for a minute so I can change? I do not want to look like a bum when the collective arrives," asked Sophie, heading towards her closet.

"You could wear a feed bag and you still wouldn't look like a bum," said Keefe, still smirking as he left the room with everyone else. Sophie turned red. She didn't know whether to feel insulted or complimented.

"You too, Sandor," Sophie said, smirking that Sandor was too big to hide behind her door. He growled and left. 15 minutes later, Sophie was showered and dressed in something Biana would say made her eyes pop.

"Finally," Mr. Forkle said with a smile, "The Moonlark graces us with her presence." Sophie rolled her eyes and walked to where Keefe and Biana were standing. Keefe stared at her.

""What?" she asked him.

"Nothing," Keefe said, turning red. Sophie swore she could hear Ro mutter something like "Oblivious." in the back round.

"Do you have any idea why the Neverseen would want to kidnap Fitz?" Mr. Forkle asked Della and Alden. Della shook her head.

"Maybe they want to see him open a gate," Keefe joked. Biana scowled at him.

"Or maybe because Fitz and Sophie are Cognates. Maybe they'll let Fitz learn his location," Alden said.

"And then when we rescue him, they 'll trap us," Sophie finished.

Keefe thought for a moment, "Nah, too obvious."

"Exactly," Mr. Forkle said.

"So how will we rescue Fitz without them spotting us?" Biana asked.

"We'll use Flashers," Mr. Forkle explained, "And we use the Moonlark." There was a knock on the door.

"That's the Collective," Mr. Forkle said. Squall, Granite, and Blur came in.

"We heard about Fitz. We're so sorry. Did you inform the Councillors?" Squall asked as she sat down next to Mr. Forkle.

"No, not yet," he said.

"Are we just going to sit here talking about my brother or are we going to actually find him?" asked Biana, glaring at Mr. Forkle.

"Biana! They're trying to find Fitz without getting him killed," Della said, putting her hand on Biana's shoulder.

"Do you have any idea where they took the boy?" Blur asked.

"Our sources say they have found an abandoned cave near Loanmore. It looks ideal for holding hostages," Forkle said, taking out a map.

Sophie winced in pain as Silveny 's voice screamed in her head,"HELP! HELP! HELP! BABY NOT OKAY! SOPHIE! KEEFE! KEEFE! HELP! BAD PEOPLE!"

"Silveny's calling for help! The Neverseen are attacking her!" Sophie cried.
