The full moon split the night with its rays of light as the fall wind blew hard on the trees. A small farm lay peacefully on a widespread field with lots of space for... an Apatosaurus family.

2 parents lay curled up in their house with their 3 babies between their bodies, keeping them warm and safe. There were 2 males, and 1 little female.

The father was a dim olive green with darker stripes on his backside and a light olive green-gold underside, while the mother had more a sweet light yellow for her skin, fitting her calm and gentle personality with a rosy coloured underside and some grey-green and tan spots on her back.

As for their offspring, they looked a lot like their parents, despite having all kinds of different colours.

The last born cub (named Arlo) began to whimper and cry in his sleep as he lay against his father's belly. His legs twitched and his body shook.

In a split second he burst out screaming, jump-scaring his parents and siblings awake. Then poor Arlo was crying his eyes out.

His dad Henry moaned a little from the rude awakening. "Henry, what happened to my poor baby?" his wife Ida muttered softly. "I think it was a nightmare," he replied groggily and glanced at his crying baby.

"Hussshh, there there. It's okay. Don't be scared," he purred. But Arlo continued to cry. Henry gently picked him up with his jaws and cradled him in his front right leg, rocking him.

"Poppa's here, poppa has you."

With that, he purred softly and cuddled his tiny baby boy close and licked away his tears. This helped Arlo's crying to cease, but he was still shaking. Ida half-opened her eyes and smiled warmly at the sweet moment.

Henry then grabbed Arlo's little fur skin blanket made from fox skin and wrapped him in a burrito. "Ya had a nightmare, huh little buddy? Aww. I know what to do," Henry explained. He put the baby down with his mother and went to bring in something special to him; his guitar.

Just as he brought it in, Ida cradled her newborn son close and took Henry's place of rocking him. He stroked a couple chords, making sure his claws don't cut any of the strings.

Then he started playing a calm tune as Arlo listened. This made Ida smile. Henry hummed with the tune along with the blowing wind.

After a few minutes, they all were getting tired. Even Henry himself. Arlo yawned adorably and rested his head on his mother's scaly chest.

Henry leaned his head down and licked him a bit more around the face. This made Arlo giggle. His siblings and mother were already asleep again. The father and son purred to each other quietly and lay down.

"You know I love you, little guy. I'm always here." Arlo finally closed his eyes. "Sleepy, aren't you?" Henry whispered.

He too opened his mouth and let out a huge cat like yawn and fell asleep with his baby. But then the little guy was shaking again. Not because he was scared, but cold.

His father scooped him up and placed him in his front legs. Arlo smiled and squeakily purred. Henry purred with him and finally fell back asleep.
