Just to be safe I repeat: As I am Male and not the writer of the Harry Potter series, whom anyone perusing this archive should know is the wonderful JKR who lets up play with her world. To put it simply I don't own a darn thing here.
Malfoy Manor
Lucius Malfoy looked over at his son as he was telling his mother about his studies that day. While he would be attending Hogwarts next year as Heir Malfoy his standings would be greatly enhanced if his son was also Heir Black or possible Lord Black depending on family rules. He decided a conversation with his good friend Cornelius Fudge, Minister of Magic was in order.
Greengrass Manor
This year's Yule break once again included a dance though this one was at Greengrass Manor and the formal greeting included Lord Greengrass. When Harry commented "This is the second Yule celebration that I've had a Ball to attend."
Lord Greengrass replied, "Unfortunately or perhaps fortunately Mr. Potter I suggest you become proficient at dancing and keep up with the latest dances. The Wizarding world holds a number of Balls the winter ones are centered around the winter Solstice while the summer ones occur between the summer solstice and Lughansadh, the beginning of the harvests. So you see you are lucky to only have one a year. Though that luck might improve while at Hogwarts as I've heard the current Headmaster has discontinued the normal Yule ball along with a number of other wizarding world traditions. Though I suspect you might receive a number of invitations to the summer balls once it is known you are a Druid."
Harry enjoyed this Ball a bit more than his first one and he thought it might be do to his being a better dancer. Though it might have been the young women he danced with had also improved their skill allowing them to adjust to his mistakes better.
Back in class after the Yule break Harry mentioned the multiple balls Lord Greengrass told him about and his classmates did their best to clear up his confusion.
"What my father didn't explain is some are practice ones somewhat like we had last year just more kids. While others are for others are adults only," Daphne said.
"Also there are a few Balls that are for certain groups." Neville added.
"Certain groups?" Harry asked having followed along up to that point.
"Think former Death Eaters," Tracy tossed in.
Not wanting Harry's thoughts going downhill Daphne was quick to speak up, "There are one or occasionally two that are coming out balls." Seeing Harry's confusion she continued, "Where sixth or the rare fifth year young woman join the adult Balls for the first time. It serves as a signal to everyone they are eligible for marriage proposals."
Reading Harry's face Tracy chipped in, "Yes Harry there is a lot more you need to learn about this world though to be honest there is a lot all of us need to learn. That's why going to Hogwarts will be important."
"Okay I'll trust all of you to help me learn the ins and out they don't teach us." Harry replied with a smile.
Malfoy Manor
The Yule had just finished when a house elf brought the morning owl post placing an envelope in front of Narcissa Malfoy with the Ministry of Magic's seal on it looking at her husband she asked. "Lucius why am I receiving correspondence from the Ministry?"
While Lucius was aware of the contents he adopted a curious gaze. "I am unaware of anything. The elves check the mail for harmful spells and contents so that should be safe," He offered.
Narcissa slit the wax seal with her knife. Reading the letter she gasp then gathered herself saying, "Cousin Sirius was killed by dementors when his cell was accidentally left open during routine cell cleaning."
"My condolences my dear. Does anything need to be done?"
"Yes, as the only free Black daughter I will need to contact the Black family account manager at Gringotts to see if my Cousin had a will. Everything will depend on that."
"Do you wish for me to accompany you?"
"I am not sure you will be allowed into discussions with the account manager. However I would appreciate your presence to the extent it's allowed."
"Then I will be at your side," Lucius said internally pleased his plans were coming together.
Gringotts
Snagtooth looked across his desk at the Malfoy's he'd allowed Lord Malfoy to be present as long as he didn't interfere. "Sirius Black did leave a will and it will be followed. Is there a date that you would prefer it not read due to other commitments?"
"Sirius was a convicted criminal surely his will would not be valid," Lucius snapped out.
Catching Snagtooth's glare at her husband Narcissa quickly placed a hand on her husband's arm to keep him quiet before she said, "While my husband spoke when he should not have. He did make a valid point."
"Lady Malfoy your information is incorrect. Sirius Black did not receive a trial. He was thrown into Azkaban without anything more than a sheet of paper saying hold in Azkaban for trial. Given those circumstances his will is valid and will be followed by Gringotts."
"A moment please," Narcissa said turning to her husband and holding a hushed conversation. With that done she said, "We currently do not have anything planned for the next two weeks. Let me know when I need to show up for the will reading." Before rising and leaving Snagtooth's office. On the other side of the door a goblin guard waited to escort them to the bank's main hall.
As they left Garhook emerged from a hidden doorway. "So they are quick to pick the Black bones clean."
Snagtooth replied, "As we discussed Sirius made his will in 1990 in my presence. Can you have Applegate bring Heir Potter in on the coming Saturday?"
"That should not be a problem. Who else needs to be notified?"
"Lady Malfoy, young Malfoy, Remus Lupin, and Peter Pettagrew. You do recall the note dropped off in the main hall shortly after Sirius was imprisoned. It was purportedly from him and the blood did match. It stated Peter Pettagrew was the Potter secret keeper."
"Yes, I agree send the owls out it will be interesting what happens with Pettagrew." Garhook replied.

The Burrow (Home of the Weasley Family)
Molly Weasley looked over as an owl flew in through the open window and up the stairs past everyone home. Looking at her two youngest who were sitting at the kitchen table practicing their writing with quills she said, "You two stay here. I'll go see what's up with that crazy owl."
Molly pulled her wand intending to stun the owl as she made her way up the burrow's stairs to Ron's room. Rounding the doorway she found a man standing there with a letter in his hand. Shocked she fired off a stunner only to have to duck a killing curse the man fired off. Before she mentally processed what she was doing automatic reflexes kicked in and she'd fired off two bone breakers one of which hit the man in the neck dropping him to the floor where his head bounced awkwardly. By the time Molly thought to cast a medical charm he was dead.
Molly went down stairs telling her children to keep practicing while she went to the floo calling for her husband to bring an auror to their home.
Malfoy Manor
After finishing the short floo call Lucius walked over to his overstuffed easy chair calling out for an elf to bring him a glass of aged fire whiskey. Peter Pettagrew had been killed by Molly Weasley of all people but the attending Auror had been one of his and convinced her and her husband it would be best for Molly if no one spoke of this. Otherwise someone in the Wizengamot might seek to persecute her for killing an Order of Merlin winner for political reasons. He assured them he would dispose of the body the Auror transfigured Peter's body into a large bone that he vanished once he was clear of the Burrow. Molly spent a few hours insuring Ron's room was cleaned of any evidence then went down to inform her son his rat had died.
The Auror was quick to notify his long time friend Lucius of all that had happened. Lucius agreed he'd done the right thing and made a mental note to pass a small bag of galleons to the Auror the next time he saw him.
Gringotts
Remus Lupin was the last one to enter the meeting room. Looking around he noted the Malfoys seated on one side with a young man that was obviously their son. On the other side sat a young man with an older man with him taking one of the two open seats in the middle he sat down.
"Now that everyone is here I will read the will of Sirius Black," one of the goblins behind the desk said.
Five minutes later it was done. Remus received 40,000 galleons. Narcissa was given the Black family manor in London. Everything else including the title of Lord Black went to Harry Potter.
Remus was surprised to see the son of his friends there without Dumbledore beside him. When he rose heading to speak with the boy he found a security goblin blocking his way as Harry and his companion was quietly escorted out. He could hear Lucius quietly complaining to the Goblin apparently named, Snagtooth that his son should be the one receiving the Lord Black title and all that encompasses. Deciding there was nothing to be gained he headed for the door only for another goblin to approach him. "Mr. Lupin I am Rocksnout and will be dealing with your bequest."
"Thank you Rocksnout. I intend to convert all of it to muggle money for depositing in an account I have in the muggle world," Remus replied.
Depressed at the loss of management fees for those Galleons Rocksnout asked, "Are you sure it would not be better to leave it with Gringotts. We offer a much better return on investment."
"I am a werewolf Rocksnout. My options in the magical world decrease daily. I have moved into the muggle world and claim Druidism as my religion. This allows me to request every full moon off and I have created a secure location to transform. No, with Sirius dead and Harry well cared for there is nothing left here for me."
"Very well we can provide you with a bank check for the amount," Rocksnout said leading Remus off to his office.
Harry sat in Garhook's office with Professor Applegate at his side. He was trying to make heads and tails of what he'd just heard finally saying, "Garhook can you provide me with a summary of what just happened and how it affects me."
"I will try but it would be best to wait for Snagtooth to join us. While I am fully capable to deal with the Potter estate I have limited knowledge concerning the Black Family estate."
"Okay how is the Potter estate affected?"
"Not at all. You are still Heir Potter and I will continue to manage it under the guidance we've agreed to. The Black estate is handled by Snagtooth. He will need your guidance as to the direction you wish to take with their investments," Garhook replied.
A few minutes later an obviously frustrated Snagtooth walked in seeing everyone waiting on him he said, "Dealing with the Malfoys took a bit longer than expected as Lord Malfoy was quite firm in his opinions. It was good Sirius detailed the family links between Harry Potter and the Black family in an attachment to the will. Once I provided a copy of that to Lord Malfoy he was quick to leave. Rushing off to his lawyer I suspect who will try to find a way to prevent Heir Potter from taking control."
"Any chance he will be successful?" Garhook asked for Harry's benefit.
"None, However I suspect if his lawyer is unable to dissuade him this will end up before the Wizengamot."
Seeing Harry looking nervous Sangtooth said, "Don't worry young heir. If it does go before them as Gringotts drew up the will with an iron clad guarantee we will supply you with a legal team to defend the will at Gringotts' expense. It was covered in an interestingly worded bit of the will," still wondering how Sirius had managed to foster that cost off to Gringotts.
HPS
It was late March when Snagtooth walked into Garhook's office saying, "I've come to tell you Malfoy's challenge of the Black inheritance in the Wizengamot has failed. While Malfoy spread a good deal of gold around to help his cause our legal team was able to portray it as an assault against the privilege a head of house has to determine his heir and won the day."
"Were they properly compensated?"
"Of course my friend. A five percent bonus all around. We also need to get Heir Potter to decide what name he will use at Hogwarts."

Longbottom Manor
If pushed the four would have just said, "School was school" having gone through this for several years concerning the time from Yule to Litha.
Before anyone of the students were anticipating it a Hogwarts letter arrived with Litha, the summer solstice. It was just the one and it was for Tracy.
When she informed the others as class started back up Professor Applegate told his class Hogwarts had a limited number of owls available for the deliveries therefore Hogwarts acceptance letters were sent out in four batches depending on when your birthday fell. Daphne received hers two weeks later, with Neville's coming a week later. When none arrived for Harry Madam Longbottom contacted the deputy Headmistress, Minerva McGonagall, to find out where Harry's letter was.
"Headmaster I've just been asked where Mr. Potter's Hogwarts letter is. Do you know anything about it?"
"Yes, I stopped it being sent. I checked Mr. Potter's magic level several years ago and he measured at the low squib level. I didn't see a need to put him through the embarrassment of receiving the letter then finding out we had to send him home as he could not perform magic at the level required of a Hogwarts student."
"You stopped a student's letter?" McGonagall asked shocked anyone would dare do such a thing.
"Naturally, it's always better to avoid embarrassing someone if you can prevent it,"
"I take it you've done this before."
"Oh a time or two," Dumbledore replied his mind occupied with his plans for young Longbottom once he was in Hogwarts and under his control allowing his deputy's reaction to escape his notice.
"Perhaps I should visit the boy and inform him of why he didn't get a letter?"
"Seeing as someone has inquired that would be a good idea. Perhaps you could also find out how they knew about it? I can't see the Dursleys contacting anyone about Harry not receiving a letter to attend my school."
Minerva waited until she was in her room before letting her displeasure out. "No one is suppose to stop a Hogwarts letter not even him and what does he mean His school," she muttered changing into her traveling robes before flooing to the Longbottoms.
"Deputy Headmistress there was no need for you to come here simply because of a missing letter." Madam Longbottom said as she entered her receiving room.
"Headmaster Dumbledore is of the opinion Mr. Potter lacks the magical potential to attend Hogwarts. I have decided to visit him myself to determine the facts. I was going to apparate to his guardians in Little Whinging when I realized it might be better to check with you first," McGonagall said.
"Mr. Potter is currently in class with Neville and a few others perhaps you might join everyone for lunch. Then you could check Master Potter out for yourself."
Minerva was quick to agree sitting down to discuss old times with Augusta Longbottom who ordered tea from her house elf while also notifying the elf she and her guest would be eating with the students today. An hour later the sounds of children interrupted them and Augusta rose leading her friend into the class dining room. Minerva watched as the students summoned their own house elves to bring them their lunch. All eyes went to the door when everyone noticed the Longbottom elves set two more places.
Augusta Longbottom waited until she had everyone's attention before saying, "Everyone this is Professor McGonagall she is the Deputy Headmistress of Hogwarts. She was visiting me and asked if she could join you for lunch. Professor this is Miss Greengrass." Daphne was quick to stand and curtsy to the professor. "Miss Davis," who was quick to duplicate Daphne's actions. "Mr. Potter," Harry stood before bowing, and of course my grandson, "Neville," who did Harry one better by walking over and kissing Minerva's knuckles, saying, "You honor us with your presence."
Minerva looked over the class but she had trouble taking her eyes off Harry. "Mr. Potter I hope you don't mind my inquiring but all reports have you with a lighting bolt scar and glasses but I see neither."
Daphne's whisper of, "Told you everyone would be asking about that," wasn't quiet enough to avoid the adult's ears.
"My appearance changed as a result of an accident a few years back," Harry replied curtly not wanting to discuss it further.
"It wasn't reported by anyone. Surely someone at St. Mungo's Hospital would have let it slip you were there," Minerva said.
"The accident occurred in the muggle world and I was treated there," Harry replied without expression his answer well practiced by now.
"When was this?"
"Roughly three and a half years ago,"
They could see Minerva thinking then she turned to Madam Longbottom. "Yes, about the same time Albus became interested in Neville," Augusta said answering her unvoiced question. Before adding, "Perhaps we should sit down and eat. The youngsters have had a rather busy morning after all."
Minerva was quick to agree sitting beside her friend watching the children interact through lunch.
Once lunch was over Minerva shifted into Professor mode asking, "Mr. Potter do you mind if I measure your magic level."
"Actually yes I do. Instead why don't you ask Professor Applegate if he feels I'm ready for Hogwarts. After all he's been teaching me for over two years."
McGonagall was in a bit of shock at being refused by a ten year old and turned to look at their Professor. "Professor McGonagall I can assure you Mr. Potter will do quite well at Hogwarts."
Given no other option she reached into her robes passing Harry his school letter.
"Thank you I will send you an owl if you wish however I expect to attend," Harry said bowing to her before joining the others as they returned to class while house elves popped in to bring their lunch dishes back to their respective manors.
"There is no need for an owl Mr. Potter," Minerva McGonagall replied watching the students return to their lessons.
"Not quite what you expected?" Augusta Longbottom asked her friend after the students were gone.
"Not at all. I take it he's staying with you?" Minerva asked.
"Actually all I know is he's staying somewhere he feels safe. That is one thing you will need to watch out for. If Harry does not feel safe at Hogwarts he will be gone before you even realize he's left," Augusta warned her friend. Seeing the disbelief in her eyes she added. "The only reasons he didn't bolt upon seeing you was seeing me beside you and his professor was nearby. For some reason he trusts me not to introduce him to an unsafe individual. I should add all four children you met are practicing Druids. I know you celebrate Christmas and Halloween of all things at Hogwarts. Be aware Harry will not attend a Halloween celebration. While he is content to put up with the craziness most observe during the day after sundown he secludes himself. When I asked all he says is he spends the time from sundown to noon the following day honoring his ancestors."
Minerva was tempted to reply that wouldn't not sit well with the Headmaster but she had friends that felt the same as Harry and she respected their beliefs. Her problem now would be preventing the Headmaster from driving Harry out of Hogwarts.
HPS
With the arrival of everyone's Hogwarts letters now complete the decision to go shopping for their Hogwarts supplies became a topic of lunch time discussions. Neville having been the recipient of some hints from his Grandmother was quick in agreeing to go with Harry. While the Greengrasses and Davises wanted to make it a family shopping trip.
The following week Harry was happy at being in a small group as they left Longbottom Manor arriving through the floo to the Leaky Cauldron a pub located at the muggle end of Diagon Alley, the main wizarding shopping district. They made their way to Gringotts Bank where they separated with Neville and Madam Longbottom going to their account manager while Harry and Professor Applegate went to meet with Garhook. Half an hour later they met back up in the Bank's lobby before heading out to gather their school supplies.
Knowing they'd be picking up a year's worth of most things Applegate lead them to Tribes Trunks where both boys quickly discarded the idea of a basic model. Each choosing a model that had separate compartments for clothes, books, along with a miscellaneous items compartment that had a removable potions cabinet. The clothes compartment kept their robes clean and pressed while providing lots of space for their other garments. The book compartment was multiple rows of shelves that would contain their books for all seven years of Hogwarts along with plenty of room for additional reference books. The miscellaneous was full of various sized draws to hold the minutia of life at school while the potions cabinet was a container full of various sizes of drawers charmed to prevent spillage of their contents.
As they worked through the supply list Harry was beginning to wonder if there would be enough room left in his trunk not to mention how he'd be able to manage it without help, "You forgot Harry that is why we got the featherlight charms put on them," Neville admonished his friend.
"I'm not sure they will be able to cope if we add much more," Harry replied drawing a chuckle from both Professor Applegate and Madam Longbottom.
By previous agreement Ollivander's Wands was their last stop. Madam Longbottom had initially planned for Neville to use his father's wand but Professor Applegate was insistent Neville needed his own wand. Still she had brought along her son's wand convinced Ollivander would agree it was a proper match for her Grandson.
Harry made sure Neville and his grandmother were the first ones through the door. "Ah Mr. Longbottom I was expecting you this year." Seeing a boy walk in behind him he started to inquire only for Madam Longbottom to interrupt him.
"Ollivander I have my son's wand here. I need you to confirm for Professor Applegate this is the wand Neville should be using," Madam Longbottom said her intent Neville would use this wand obvious.
"As I always say it is the wand that chooses the wizard." Ollivander said taking the wand from Madam Longbottom He looked it over for a moment before glancing at Neville before continuing, "Let us find out if he is a match for his father's wand." Thirty seconds later Ollivander snatched the wand out of Neville's hand before attempting to cast several spells with it. He handed it back to Madam Longbottom saying, "This wand has a damaged core. Put it away or display it to honor your son. It is useless as a wand. Let's start to find Neville a proper wand."
It was five minutes later when Ollivander looked at Neville saying, "You are a tricky customer. I think we might find a match among my experimental wands."
"Are those safe?" Madam Longbottom asked concerned.
"Once I've matched them all my wands are perfectly safe for their owners. What I call my experimental wands are ones I was trying various odd combinations of wood and ingredients," Ollivander replied his tone one of obvious affront as he gathered several boxes from a back corner.
"I sense the earth spirit is strong in you so let's try this one," Ollivander said a minute later passing Neville a wand with a noticeable twist.
The wand shot a blossom of reddish sparks out. "That is your wand Mr. Longbottom," Ollivander said.
"Now who is this other person in need of a wand."
"Harry Potter sir," Harry said stepping forward.
Ollivander looked at Harry glancing at the unmarked forehead before shaking his head and reaching for a wand Professor Dumbledore suggested years ago would fit Harry. When Harry picked up the wand he dropped it quickly saying, "It stung me."
It took several additional tries before Ollivander again looked to his experimental wands. Noting how Harry and Neville were getting along he tried another wand from the root of that oak it was close but the wood was a bit off while the core was not a match. He made several other wands from that oak. Taking an educated guess he picked up a wand he'd made from the upper most branches though that one he'd gotten a bit crazy and used the two different deer hair he'd gotten from Hagrid as the core. He supposed he could remove one or the other hair colors if the wand was otherwise a match for Mister Potter.
The moment Harry touched the wand he knew it was his. He didn't need the show of red and brown sparks flying out of it to know. "Oh my I was expecting one of the cores to match but to have such a strong match with both cores and the wand wood is impressive. That is assuredly your wand Mister Potter. I'm slightly surprised to sell those two wands back to back but I guess I shouldn't be," Ollivander said.
All it took was Applegate saying , "Oh," for Ollivander to elaborate.
"Yes, while Mister Longbottom's wand was from the root of an oak that had been blown over during a severe storm. Mister Potter's is from one of the highest branches of that same oak, branches I would not normally be able to gather. Also Mister Longbottom's wand contains red deer hair while Mister Potter's contains both red and brown magical deer hair."
"I didn't know there were magical deer," Applegate said.
"The cores are deer hair Hagrid gathered a decade or so ago. I was surprised also but when I tested the hair it was strongly magical." Ollivander replied with a bit of a shrug before saying, "That will be seven Galleons for the wands and as those were not my standard wands I'll add in wand holders at no additional cost if both gentlemen promise to let me know of anything unusual happening with them. Should the wands fail during their schooling I will replace them at no cost."
Both boys were quick to agree and with a smile they watched as Ollivander showed them how to wear the holders and insert and remove their wands.
With there shopping done Madam Longbottom spoke up, "One does not take a trunk through the floo unless one has to. Betty," Betty the summoned elf appeared, "Take these two trunks to Longbottom Manor,"
"Yes Mistress," the elf replied before disappearing with the two trunks
It was two happy boys who returned to Longbottom manor. "Master Potter I had your trunk brought here so no one would know where you are living. While your little study group and their parents know you do not live with me it is advisable that no one else knows for the time being. I suggest you think about what you will say concerning this topic once you reach Hogwarts," Madam Longbottom said.
"Yes, Gran Longbottom," Harry replied, using the term of affection he used when only family were present bringing a smile to the woman's face.
"Also as this location is known to be a training location while you are here you will be able to get used to your wands here. I will talk with Professor Applegate about conducting some simple exercises with the four of you so you will become accustomed to holding them at the minimum and being able to do simple spells at the best."
It was a beaming two boys who replied, "Thanks Gran, Gran Longbottom."
And with a call of "Grady" Harry's trunk was transported back to Potter Manor with Harry following along via floo.

Greengrass Manor
"Rough session?" Annabelle Greengrass asked with concern noting how beleaguered her husband, Samuel, looked upon his return from the Wizengamot.
"No, the session was fine. Once again I was waylaid by Lucius Malfoy. He is becoming rather insistent at signing a betrothal contract for Daphne."
"Betroth my daughter to his son?" Annabelle replied her disgust obvious in her tone.
Unfortunately Daphne had arrived right behind her father and heard her mother's reply. "Who am I being betrothed to? Without my consent I might add," she asked
"That will not happen Daphne to either you or your sister. What you overheard was your mother's reply to my informing her Lord Malfoy is seeking a betrothal for his son."
"No, no, I'd veto it if he was the last…, whatever he is, on earth." Daphne replied.
"The problem is with you going to Hogwarts the offers will not stop. In fact I'm sure I will be approached by most fathers with eligible sons."
Daphne looked at her parents for a bit running various options through her mind. She noted her father stopping her mother from speaking as he obviously wanted to hear what she was thinking without anyone else's input. "Father what if I was betrothed to Harry before going to Hogwarts. Tracy could be betrothed to Neville. If the contracts contained clauses that would allow either of us to easily break them they would protect all four of us."
"You could be fed an infatuation potion that while not illegal would cause you to break it," Her father offered.
"Then build in provisions to prevent that. Perhaps the goblins would help insure the person was influence free or require them to do it twice a month apart," her mother chipped in.
It was Samuel's turn to contemplate what was said. After a minute of his wife and daughter watching and waiting he nodded saying, "It's a good option. Should I approach Augusta or do you want to break the ice with her?" He asked looking at his wife while Daphne let out a little eep.
"You wait I'll see what Augusta and Heather Davis think. If they agree you can formally approach Lord Davis and Madam Longbottom," Annabelle said heading for the floo to begin her calls.
Gringotts August 2
Garhook, Snagtooth, and the Account goblins for the Greengrass and Davis family looked on as the last of the attendees entered. With everyone assembled a door opened on the goblin side and an older looking goblin entered. "I am Warnock and am here as an impartial coordinator. Does anyone object?" He asked looking around. When no one did he continued, "This meeting is to formalize the betrothal of Harry James Potter to Daphne Marie Greengrass and Neville Francis Longbottom to Tracy Elizabeth Davis correct?"
Everyone voiced their agreement. "Is everyone satisfied with their contracts?" Again everyone agreed.
"Alright let's get started. Who is signing for the Longbottom, Davis pairing?"
"I Richard Davis will sign for Lord Davis. Here is my authorization from Lord Davis."
"I Augusta Longbottom regent of the Longbottom family will sign for the Longbottoms."
A few minutes later Neville and Tracy countersigned their parents signature signaling their agreement with the betrothal.
After observing the exchange of rights Warnock said, "Congratulations on your betrothal. Now who will sign for the Potter, Greengrass pairing?"
"I Lord Greengrass will sign for the Greengrasses."
Garhook spoke up saying, "Warnock Harry Potter's case is a bit odd. Sirius Black was named as his parents first choice for guardian should they pass. As he was not convicted just imprisoned our legal department has determined the guardianship was legal and passed onto his designated heir who he emancipated in his will."
"And who is this heir?" Warnock asked.
"Lord Black is Harry James Potter."
"So Harry Potter will be signing his own betrothal as Lord Black then again as heir Potter?"
"Yes Warnock."
"And our legal department has determined all this is legal? Also has the Greengrass family been notified of the potential problems with his status as a dual heir?"
"Yes to both Warnock."
"Then let us proceed."
Minutes later Harry and Daphne were betrothed, had exchanged rings and everyone was heading home.
HPS
September 1st arrived and two boys bounded down the stairs at Longbottom manor full of anticipation for that day's trip to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry.
Augusta Longbottom had gotten up early to oversee her grandson's final breakfast at home for three and a half months. His friend, her adopted grandson, Harry Potter had spent the night at the manor and would be joining Neville on the train ride.
Breakfast was a bit more animated than normal but still within the limits she'd tolerate. After breakfast they had their trunks down and ready by the floo at eight a.m. she had to put her foot down. "You are not leaving this manor until ten and if you push it I'll keep moving it back until both of you are running to make the train at all."
Ten fifteen saw two boys hurrying though the crowd on Platform 9 3/4 heading for the scarlet train after saying hurried goodbyes to the woman accompanying them only to stop as they spotted two girls exiting the train. "I'll show them where to put their trunks," Daphne said leading the boys onto the train while Tracy went to where their parents were waiting. Three minutes later the four soon to be students were talking with their elders.
As goodbye kisses were being dispersed the group was approached by the Malfoy clan. "Lord Greengrass have you given any more thought to my betrothal offer?"
"There has been a development on that front however you will need to wait until tomorrow's meeting of the Wizengamot as that was the agreed announcement date," Samuel Greengrass replied before turning back to his group an obvious signal that conversation was at its end.
Harry noticed Lady Malfoy looking at the girls hands and was pleased all four betrothal rings had been charmed invisible.
As the time was coming close they boarded the Hogwarts Express settling into a compartment. The train had just left the station when Draco Malfoy opened the compartment door saying, "Daphne why don't you leave these losers and come join me and my friends after all everyone knows the Malfoy's are the top wizarding family."
"Heir Malfoy I am sitting with my friends why don't you do the same." Daphne replied politely.
Stunned at being flat out dismissed Draco slid the door closed heading back to the compartment where the tale he told bore no resemblance to what actually happened.
They had a few minutes of peace before the door was opened again and a gangly freckle faced redhead stuck his head in looking over the two boys. His eyes lit up and he entered and looking at Tracy sitting beside Neville said, "Move over I need to sit beside my mate Neville."
"Who are you?" Tracy asked.
"Ron, and I'm Neville's mate now move girly."
Harry could see this Ron was seconds away from being stunned at the minimum so decided to speak up, "Neville do you know this buffoon?"
Neville made a show of looking Ron up and down before replying, "No."
"Well, Mr. Ron it has been regrettable meeting you so now would be the time for you to depart," Harry stated.
Ron started to protest only for Harry to draw his wand emphasizing his suggestion. Not knowing who this other person was Ron left knowing Dumbledore would insure he'd end up with Neville in Gryffindor where he could try again.
Daphne opened her communication notebook sending off an account of what had happened with both Draco and Ron to her father hoping he could enlighten them at least as to who this Ron was though from his hair alone she suspected he was a Weasley.
His answer came just before they arrived at Hogwarts. Daphne looked at the group saying, "He suggested we leave the charms on our rings until we go down to breakfast tomorrow morning."
"Wonder why that is. I'm willing to do as requested. He hasn't steered us wrong yet," Harry said drawing a smile from his betrothed and nods of agreement from Neville and Tracy.
Dumbledore was watching the sorting with his standard placid face normally he was rather good at predicting which house a student would go into however this year he was experiencing a few first being Young Weasley wasn't next to Longbottom as he'd directed the boy to be.
The presence of a young girl beside Longbottom might have been the reason though when the girl Miss Davis as he recalled was sorted into Ravenclaw he smiled as that would free Neville from her influence.
Miss Greengrass going into Ravenclaw was one sorting that could have gone several ways but she'd appeared friendly with Miss Davis so that might have had an effect.
He was shocked when Neville went into Ravenclaw instead of Gryffindor where he'd instructed the hat to sort him. Though he realized he could work with it. He just needed to insure Miss Davis was otherwise occupied. Something a simple infatuation potion would accomplish.
Dumbledore was looking at Longbottom trying to determine how close he was to Miss Davis when his head snapped to the waiting students in surprise as Professor McGonagall called out "Harry Potter." Dumbledore looked at the boy making his way to the stool. He slightly resembled James Potter but unlike the boy he'd expected this one was obviously healthy and though his hair had a strong reddish tint shockingly he was missing the conspicuous lightening bolt shaped scar on his head and was not wearing glasses. While Harry Potter showing up after he'd stopped his acceptance letter going out could have been attributed to Professor McGonagall's interference. Finding the boy he'd left to be raised by muggles was in far better shape than he'd last seen him concerned the headmaster. To have someone move from being close to a muggle in magical power to being able to attend Hogwarts hinted at something that could only be accomplished with the darkest magic. Concerned he attempted a legilimency probe on Harry only to run into a occlumency shield. His mind processed all those thoughts in rapid succession. His resulting conclusion pushed him into action.
Dumbledore whipped his wand up a stunning spell flying towards Harry Potter as he was in the process of sitting down on the sorting stool.
Harry caught the rising wand out of the corner of his eye and changed his direction choosing to fall on the floor avoiding the stunning spell. Once he hit the floor he followed his training quickly rolling away from where he'd landed.
Dumbledore's follow up stunner impacted Harry's vacated section of floor. Just as wands flashed up from Harry's pre-Hogwart's classmates with Neville and Tracy sending stunners in Headmaster Dumbledore's direction while Daphne attempted to summon Dumbledore's wand. The students in the Great Hall gasped as Dumbledore dodged and shielded the stunners from Harry's friends before turning his wand towards Harry again. Only to drop at a stunner from Professor Flitwick just as Daphne's spell caused Dumbledore's wand to fly to her hand.
"Flitwick!" Deputy Headmistress, Professor McGonagall, called out shocked at her fellow Professor stunning the Headmaster.
"Deputy Headmistress something very odd is going on here and I think we all need to calm down and address what is going on without spells flying around," Flitwick said motioning to the Ravenclaw table where three newly sorted students stood two with their wands still raised while the other one was looking down at the wand she'd just caught an expression of bewilderment on her face.
Daphne was looking at the wand she'd caught feeling a surge though her body as it bonded to her. Something was definitely different with this wand. Tracy's call of "Daphne!" Brought her attention back to the great hall. She was quick to flip the wand in her hand shifting it to her wand hand as she joined her two companions in keeping Harry safe.
Unseen by most Susan Bones had a notebook out and was furiously writing in it.
Potions Master Severus Snape had rounded the Professor's table and was raising his wand to enervate the Headmaster when Professor Flitwick looked at him saying, "Professor Snape perhaps we should leave the Headmaster for Healer Pomfrey to deal with."
Snape was about to make a disparaging comment to Flitwick when he noticed Flitwick still had his wand out. He recalled from his student days everyone said Flitwick was a retired Dueling Master. With a nod he returned to his seat to watch the show.
Professor Quirinus Quirrel, this years defense against the Dark Arts instructor, watched the goings on with a smile. If Dumbledore found himself out of Hogwarts his task would be that much easier.
"Mr. Longbottom, Miss Davis put your wands away. Miss Greengrass please bring the Headmaster's wand up here," McGonagall directed.
Both girls looked towards Neville who made a very slight shake of his head that Flitwick caught. Flitwick didn't say anything to McGonagall wanting to see how she dealt with this insubordination.
"Mr. Longbottom," McGonagall said firmly staring the young man down.
"Professor McGonagall I've dealt with my Gran, the Regent Longbottom, all my life. You may be good at this but she is a master at it."
Minerva McGonagall would never admit it but his Grandmother could make even her uncomfortable. "Nonetheless I am the deputy Headmistress and with Headmaster Dumbledore currently stunned I am in charge of Hogwarts."
"And that is my God-brother laying there stunned. For me not to insure his safety would find myself in trouble with Regent Longbottom."
"And you two Miss Davis and Miss Greengrass?"
Deciding the timing had gone to pieces anyway Tracy said, "I stand with my betrothed."
"As do I," Daphne added when McGonagall's gaze rested on her.
Surprised McGonagall blurted out, "You are betrothed to two young ladies Mr. Longbottom."
"No Ma'am just Tracy," Neville replied.
"Miss Greengrass?"
"My betrothed is currently stunned on the floor," she replied hoping her father wouldn't be too upset at their early announcement.
The exclamation from the Slytherin table could have been predicted by either girl, "You were supposed to be my betrothed! My father assured me you would be mine!" Draco Malfoy yelled out.
Into this Amelia Bones, Head of the Ministry Aurors, rushed with her Auror guard. "Professor McGonagall what is going on here?"
"Headmaster Dumbledore drew his wand as Harry Potter was being sorted and started firing spells at him. Charms Master Flitwick stunned the Headmaster along with two students while a third summoned his wand," McGonagall said motioning to the three students still standing with their wands out.
"Students put your wands away and sit down," Amelia Bones said in her official voice loud enough to carry throughout the hall.
Both girls again looked to Neville who said, "Madam Bones we relinquish Heir Potter's safety into your hands."
Amelia noticed the three still had their wands out and was starting to call on her aurors to force compliance when the formal tone of his words registered. "Heir Longbottom, I Amelia Bones acknowledge and accept responsibility for Heir Potter's safety."
While puzzled students looked back and forth between Neville and Madam Bones Neville nodded putting his wand away and sitting down with the two girls following his actions.
Madam Bones didn't waste any time delegating two aurors to protecting Harry Potter. Before she turned to healer Pomfrey asking, "How is Headmaster Dumbledore?"
"Stunned obviously but I see no reason not to enervate him."
"Very well please do so,"
Pomfrey stood away from Albus just incase his initial reactions were jerky and cast her spell.
Albus was quick to get to his feet and looked at Harry Potter reaching for his wand only to find it missing causing him to exclaim, "My wand!"
"Miss Greengrass summoned it when you started firing spells at her betrothed," McGonagall said her distain at Daphne's actions obvious.
"Miss Greengrass?" Dumbledore asked looking to the student.
"Will you be firing spells at Heir Potter?" Daphne asked.
"Miss Greengrass!" McGonagall exclaimed.
Just as Dumbledore said, "That is not Harry Potter that is Lord Voldemort who has taken over Harry Potter's body," causing more than one auror to raise their wand against Harry.
"That is ridiculous," Daphne countered.
"Nonetheless an accusation has been made by a credible individual and needs investigation," Madam Bones stated.
"Just how will you go about that?" Harry asked having gotten to his feet.
"I will perform legilimency on this individual to determine if he is indeed Lord Voldemort," Headmaster Dumbledore stated as if that was the end of it.
"Nope, not going to happen," Harry said looking to Madam Bones for assistance.
"Perhaps an impartial individual would be best," Professor Flitwick offered drawing a glare from both the headmaster and his deputy.
"Works for me if they are truly impartial," Harry replied.
"This individual will need to be kept under guard," Dumbledore said firmly.
"Hey, this individual has a name," Harry said annoyed.
"Ah, but which one is it?" Dumbledore asked looking directly at Harry.
"Sorry about this but needs must. Auror Proudfoot handcuff Mr. Potter and escort him to a Ministry holding cell," Madam Bones directed.
Once Harry was gone Daphne made the walk to the head table passing Dumbledore's wand back to him. He took it suddenly looking at it with a frown. Once she was back at the Ravenclaw table the sorting continued.
Neville, Daphne, and Tracy took turns using Daphne's note book to send messages to their parents concerning the sorting. Though they were not the only ones sending information to family.
Lucius Malfoy re-read the letter from his son unable to process what it contained. "Lucius is everything alright with Draco?" His wife asked concerned at her husbands action.
Shaking his head Lucius looked up saying, "Draco is fine. He was sorted into Slytherin as expected along with his two guards. No evidently Dumbledore attacked Harry Potter stating he was actually Lord Voldemort if you could believe such a thing."
An astonished Narcissa asked, "Could it be true?"
"I don't know. He was attacking the Potters when he vanished. Though if he did survive in the Potter boy I would have expected him to contact one of the inner circle a few years ago. No, this doesn't add up. I'll visit the ministry later. According to Draco Madam Bones was there and took Potter into custody. He should be in a holding cell and I can persuade Fudge to allow me to visit him. I'll know then."
"Be careful Lucius. Don't tip your hand unnecessarily,"
"Trust me I will be very careful. Though to be honest I'm not sure which way I want this to turn out."
HPS
The next morning Lucius was not the first visitor Fudge had. Dumbledore and surprising to him Lord Greengrass were there before him. The meeting was moved into a conference room where an unspeakable appeared quietly observing and after a number of accusations and counter accusations a process was finally agreed upon. The Wizengamot would be convened to witness two mind healers, one from St. Mungo's Hospital and one from the unspeakables. They would examine Harry Potter separately and if they disagreed a third healer would be summoned from St. Mungo's Hospital. Until then Harry would remain in isolation with access limited to the attending Aurors and Lord Greengrass as his betrothed's father. This really didn't bother Lucius as one of the aurors with access was his friend that helped with the Weasley situation.
The report Lucius received from the Auror shortly before the Wizengamot meeting left him puzzled. The auror told him that while Potter did not respond with the proper counter phrase when given the initial phrase the boy did look at him annoyed like he wasn't about to admit being Lord Voldemort until he had his freedom back.

Everyone who could attend this extraordinary meeting of the Wizengamot was there. The press box was full as was the public gallery. "We are here to determine if this individual is indeed Lord Voldemort or simply Harry Potter. To that end he will be examined by two mind healers," Dumbledore announced opening the session.
From the chair where chains held him in place Harry said, "I'll allow mind healers past my shields if Dumbledore does the same."
"Boy who are you to accuse Dumbledore. You are the one on trial here," a voice called out from among the Wizengamot members.
"Woah this is now a trial? Don't I get a solicitor or someone to assist me here?"
"Yes, you do," a voice called out as a man walked over to sit beside Harry.
"Mr. Howe your presence is not needed. This is a simple exam by mind healers to determine who this individual is," Dumbledore stated firmly.
"Actually I believe I will be needed to insure Heir Potter is treated properly given his accuser is chairing this session of the Wizengamot." Solicitor Howe of Dewey, Cheatem and Howe replied.
"Oh let him be. This is taking enough of my day as it is," Minister Fudge said from his seat as a number of members voiced their agreement to his statement.
"Well, Dumbledore are you willing?" Howe asked.
"I am not the one being examined here," Dumbledore countered.
"No, you are just the one accusing him without offering any supporting information."
"I'm sure my word is sufficient."
"Are you hiding something Headmaster?" Howe asked.
"While I am Headmaster of Hogwarts School I am currently in my role as Chief Warlock of the Wizengamot. Please address me as such."
"However it was while you were in your role as Headmaster that you made the accusation was it not?"
"Yes,"
"Then it is as Headmaster I am questioning your reasons for making the accusation."
"Oh Dumbledore let them take a peek. Those healers are oath bound not to reveal any secrets found. They will just verify you acted with reason," Fudge offered hoping to get this farce over with.
When Dumbledore started to protest yet again he could feel the mood changing in the chamber and decided to give in confident in his ability to restrict the Healers access to his mind.
Once Howe was confident Dumbledore was oath bound to submit to the mind healers he told Harry to go ahead.
Everyone watched eagerly as the St. Mungo's hospital mind healer took a chair in front of Harry and after a few quiet words between them began his work. Fifteen minutes later he broke out of the trance promptly throwing up all over the floor beside him.
It was a pale Healer who looked to Harry as Howe said, "While we wait for the healer to recover why don't we allow the unspeakable to examine Mr. Potter."
Getting a nod of agreement the hooded unspeakable vanished the sick conjuring their own chair their hood turned to Harry who was a bit pale and after a few words entered Harry's mind. Their visit took over twenty minutes and when it ended Harry collapsed against the chains. The unspeakable appeared to be made of sterner stuff as there was no vomiting just a sitting back in the chair.
As previously agreed neither healer announced their decision waiting until after their exam of Dumbledore. Everyone watched as Dumbledore made his way to the floor of the chamber conjuring a plush armchair to sit in. Once he was seated the unspeakable went first this time. Once again he quietly exchanged a few words before going still as he entered Dumbledore's mind.
Everyone was watching when a few minutes later Dumbledore appeared to stiffen causing the St. Mungo's healer to begin a medical scan of him.
"Is everything alright?" Madam Bones asked from her seat in the Wizengamot.
"It appears Dumbledore is attempting to prevent the Unspeakable's probe from accessing at least one area of his mind. Currently Dumbledore is okay. Unless there are objections I will continue to monitor his health," The Healer stated.
"No, thank you for insuring his health," she replied watching along with everyone else. Suddenly Dumbledore slumped in his chair and five minutes later the unspeakable sat back in his. Unseen by anyone his hand was in his pocket squeezing an alarm.
Four unspeakables suddenly appeared in front of the Wizengamot. One walked over to the one who'd examined Dumbledore and after a short conversation motioned the others to take Dumbledore. Turning they spoke in an odd voice saying, "Mr. Dumbledore will be looked after by our healer." As Dumbledore and three of the unspeakables disappeared.
"What about Mr. Potter's evaluation?" Fudge asked.
The Unspeakable looked to the two mind healers who conversed for a few minutes before the St. Mungo's mind healer spoke, "Mr. Potter has had a hard life but he is just Harry Potter. Neither myself nor the unspeakable found anything that would suggest he was under the influence or control of He-Who-Must-Not-Be-Named." Deciding to ask Potter later if he would allow him to share what he found with Madam Bones. There were a number of people who had committed criminal acts against Harry.
"What about Dumbledore? Why was he taken away?" A voice called out.
"Dumbledore's health wasn't good at the end and we felt it would be safer for all concerned if he was treated by our healers," The Unspeakable who appeared in charge said. When the St. Mungo's healer didn't contradict him everyone assumed the unspeakable spoke the truth.
It was as they were leaving the chamber Harry asked, "Mr. Howe why did you assist me?"
"Oh, I was your father's Solicitor of Record. He thought our firm's name was great."
"Can you do that for me also?" Harry asked knowing it would be a good idea given what his uncle had said over the years.
"I can. I'll send you a contract."
"Sent it to Madam Longbottom she's taking care of things for me."
"I will," Howe replied glad Harry had a capable advisor.

Once in their own area the unspeakable mind healer looked to the head unspeakable saying, "Dumbledore has a lot of information about Lord Voldemort he hasn't shared with anyone else. You need to get him to share those memories. I was able to glimpse portions of them but if I pushed he'd be useless afterwards."
"They are that important?"
"Voldemort is really one Tom Riddle Hogwarts Head boy back in 44-45. Dumbledore thought he might be possessing Quirinus Quirrell, the current DADA professor, before he scanned Potter and when he couldn't read Potter he switched his thinking. There is a lot more information about Voldemort behind that shield."
"Okay that was worth the public abduction. Let's hope the treatment story holds for a few days allowing us time to get enough to hold him longer."
HPS
Four days later as the Dumbledore loyalists were beginning to consider their options to force the Unspeakables to release Dumbledore he appeared in the Ministry leaving the Chief Warlock's office. He quickly made his way to Hogwarts where he passed four unspeakables escorting Quirinus Quirrell, the current DADA professor away.
"Headmaster you will need a new Defense professor," was the only words that passed between the two as Dumbledore continued his rush to Hogwarts. He knew from his last meeting with the Unspeakables they would be taking over the hunt for Tom's Horcruxes. While he felt it was a risk to include more people he wasn't given an option. Additionally he'd had to give an oath to not disable monitoring charms placed on him and his offices before they'd allowed him his freedom.
The following week he had his protege Severus Snape summon Harry Potter to Dumbledore's office intending to explain his actions only to find him accompanied by Filius Flitwick head of Ravenclaw House. "Professor Flitwick thank you for showing young Harry the way you may go." Dumbledore said expecting to be obeyed.
Flitwick looked around noting Potions master Snape standing partially out of sight in a corner said, "Mr. Potter has requested my presence as his head of house and given your overly familiar way of addressing him I believe his request to be valid."
"Afraid to meet the headmaster alone?" Snape sneered as the two took seats across the headmaster's desk
Harry looked at Snape with a curious gaze before saying, "Actually yes."
Dumbledore looked a bit off saying, "You are safe around any of the professors here."
"I doubt that. At my sorting you attacked me. Not stopping until you were stunned. During my first potions class I was asked questions whose answers would not be covered until third year and docked points for failing to answer," Harry stated observing how the headmaster kept looking at him.
"What happened to your scar?" Dumbledore blurted out.
"What scar?"
"The one on your forehead. You insolent brat." Snape snapped out unable to contain himself.
Harry expected this question after all everyone in the wizarding world asked it sooner or later. "It was a fabrication of whoever wrote those children's books."
"No Harry you had it when I dropped you off at your aunt and uncle's home." Dumbledore stated firmly.
Harry stood an intense glare appearing on his face as he practically vibrated with repressed anger. Turning to his head of house Harry said, "Professor Flitwick please escort me back to the Ravenclaw common room," as he turned for the door.
"Harry…, Mister Potter we are not finished." Dumbledore stated.
"Dumbles you don't know how finished we are," Harry muttered to himself as he made his way down the stairs.
As they left Dumbledore was quick to raise a ward preventing Harry from sending any mail off. Unfortunately for him he didn't stop mail going out from anyone else.

Harry and Neville both sent letters off to Gran Longbottom but only Neville's got through. While Daphne and Tracy's letters to their parents were received without any problems.
Two days later Howe arrived at Hogwarts gate with four Aurors and three parents. "Dumbledore said not to allow anyone in," Hagrid, Hogwarts keeper of keys, said to the group.
"Rubeus Hagrid, We are here on official business unlock these gates and stand aside," Auror Proudfoot announced.
When he appeared to hesitate Lord Greengrass spoke up, "Hagrid you know most of us. Don't make us do this the hard way."
"Don't know why you need to do this at all. Great man Dumbledore, he always knows what's best," Hagrid said opening the gate before escorting the group to the castle. They arrived just as everyone was sitting down to the evening meal.
"I thought I told Hagrid no visitors were allowed," Dumbledore said as the group walked in.
"You did. We convinced him we weren't visitors," Proudfoot said.
"What business do the Aurors have here?"
"We are escorting these individuals," He replied with a gesture to the parents accompanying him.
At his motion all four individuals moved the parents going to their children while Howe went to Harry Potter. The students took the papers passed to them before making their way to Professor Flitwick at the head table. After reading all four papers Flitwick stood making his way down to where the now increased group stood.
"Professor Flitwick?" Dumbledore asked.
"Miss Greengrass, Miss Davis, Mr. Longbottom, and Mr. Potter have just given me their resignations,"
"They can't leave!" Dumbledore exclaimed.
"I assure you they can. In fact any student who feels they are not receiving proper treatment or education are allowed to resign from Hogwarts," Howe stated.
"But their wands will be snapped and their magic bound!" Professor McGonagall stated.
"Not at all. I assure you any student resigning has one month to register at another magical school before that happens," Howe said motioning Flitwick to take the former students to gather their belongings.
"But Hogwarts is the only magic school in England," she replied.
"True but there is Beauxbatons Academy of Magic in France, Durmstrang Institute, even Ilvermorny in the Colonies, or they could just get tutors to continue their education," Howe countered.
"But Hogwarts is the best magical school in the world!" Dumbledore stated firmly.
"For you to still believe that when you are the Supreme Mugwump of the International Confederation of Wizards boggles the mind. Outside of England it is generally acknowledged Mahoutokoro in Japan has that distinction. Hogwarts is considered mid-pack at best and dropping given the NEWT grades in Defense and Potions continue to fall," Howe said twisting the knife.
"Our NEWT scores have not dropped," Dumbledore stated obviously upset at the accusation.
"Only because the Ministry adjusts the standard tests to compensate. Again something you should be aware of given your multiple positions. Everyone especially your students and their parents should be aware the ICW keeps track of those adjustments and provides a yearly correction factor for Hogwarts scores to bring them in line with the ICW scores to anyone who asks for it."
Dumbledore did know all of that but wondered how Howe knew as information of that nature was highly restricted by the Ministry of Magic.
"Does that mean I can resign and continue studying at Beauxbatons?" A voice called out.
Howe looked to the bushy haired girl standing. Possibly a first or second year he thought before saying, "Beauxbatons conducts all their instruction in French. If you can read and speak the language and your parents sign your resignation letter, then yes. I should add it will also be noticeably less expensive than Hogwarts," Howe said knowing this was another person that would be leaving.
"Harry Potter can't leave his guardian has not signed his letter of resignation," Dumbledore said wanting to change the focus of this disaster.
"I can assure you he has," Howe said.
"I was appointed his guardian by the Wizengamot shortly after his parents were killed and I have not signed any letter of resignation," Dumbledore announced.
"Yes, you were his guardian. That changed several years ago."
"I was never notified." Dumbledore said in a huff.
"As you never interacted with your charge it was decided you did not need to be notified," Howe countered just as Flitwick returned saying, "Solicitor Howe your group is awaiting you in the entrance hall."
"Thank you. Miss, I'm sorry we weren't introduced. Have your parents send an owl to Howe at Dewy Cheatem and Howe and I'll draw up your resignation letter for them free of charge," Howe said.
"I'm Hermione Granger and a muggle born," the girl said.
"Then you send me the owl. I'll need your parents full names and address and I'll send you a letter back. Once your parents sign it give it to your head of house. I suggest having a confirmed acceptance to Beauxbatons, if that is your school of choice, before you do," Howe said making his exit.
HPS
Two weeks after leaving Hogwarts for the last time Harry, Daphne, Neville and Tracy were greeted by Joann K. Murray Headmistress of Great Lakes Magic Institute. A school Howe never mentioned hoping to make it a bit harder for Dumbledore to find them.
Days after the foursome left Hogwarts Hermione Granger walked out to be followed over the following weeks by a majority of the muggleborn and half-bloods. Hermione walked into Beauxbatons Academy of Magic a week later to begin her magical education. A month later Hermione was convinced Howe's description of Hogwarts standing was generous.
In Ireland the Scoil ar Draiocht Glas (School for Green Magic) found transfers from Hogwarts brought them close to being overwhelmed with students.
As for Hogwarts with Quirrell gone the year progressed with his replacement maintaining the level of incompetence of his predecessors.

I decided to end this here as the possibilities for direction are endless. I leave it to your imagination what happens beyond this point. Do Neville and Tracy along with Harry and Daphne get married or do they find other spouses as they grow? What does Hermione's future hold? What happens with Voldemort? I have my ideas but if you want to continue this go for it just let me know so 1, I can read it and 2, put a note here directing future readers to your story.
