FRIENDS FOREVER

Beastar. The word itself seemed to hold a secretive yet known power to it and mammals who heard it. It was more than a simple word. It was a title. A title that was the pinnacle and most admired and sort after title in the city. The title that belonged to none other than Thorn! All the mammals loved him and his friends. Well, let's just say they thought that he was the coolest and most amazing wolf in the world!

"Hey, Thorn snap out of it!" An upbeat and friendly voice yelled out snapping the light blonde and white-furred wolf from his daydream before a smiling and chuckling blonde furred and brown-eyed Labrador filled Thorn's vision causing the wolf to yelp in slight fright and jump back.

This, unfortunately, led the young wolf to fall hard onto his back with a groan as his jean covered legs stuck out in the air whilst the reaction from the Labrador was none other than a fit of pure laughter.

The laughing labrador wore a simple white polo shirt with black trousers which complimented his fur rather well along with a pair of white trainers.

Thorn never really liked wearing white clothes as they seemed to never stay clean for long on the wolf if worn through though the labrador always seemed to have another shirt ready if he got dirty or his clothes did.

"Hahaha jeez, Thorn I thought you were the tough one out of us three. I didn't expect you to jump like a cat because of little old me." The labrador smiled brightly before peaking his head over the bench where Thorn was laying on his back with a grumble and a huff as the wolf's right leg twitched.

"What did you expect Jack? You caught me off guard okay." Thorn looked away from the chuckling labrador with a small growl before the light blonde and white-furred wolf quickly covered his muzzle with his paws whilst Jack's laughter subsided and concern spread across the dogs face.

"Thorn….you know you don't have to do that around me….I'm a predator too…," Jack said to Thorn in a caring yet serious tone of voice as the labrador offered his paw toward Thorn to which the wolf gladly accepted, picking himself up off of the floor with Jacks help before dusting off the dirt and dust from his clothes.

"Thanks, Jack….and I'm sorry but I can't help it." Thorn chuckled nervously at Jack as the wolf scratched the back of his head whilst avoiding the deep brown eyes of Jack which in turn caused the labrador to sigh and lightly punch the wolf in the arm.

"Come on Thorn you always do this. There isn't any need for you to apologize to me. It was just a growl." Jack said to Thorn with a smile although the wolf knew better. Jack would never admit it but Thorn could sense the slight fear the labrador had when he growled or when the two had the occasional argument.

It wasn't the first time the wolf had noticed it but he always kept it to himself. Jack was a kind, caring and friendly individual and had always put himself second for his friends. Jack was a one of a kind friend. He would drop anything he was doing to help some mammal in need and he always brightened up any room he walked into but it none the less hurt Thorn every time something like this happened.

"I know but still at least let me buy the food for today okay? You've been buying for the past three weeks." Thorn said to Jack with a hopeful and apologetic smile to which the labrador put a paw to his head in a joking manner as he pondered Thorn's offer whilst his blonde furred tail wagged.

"Hmmm, you'll buy the food huh?" Jack chuckled and pondered as the labrador purposely crossed his eyes to act as comic effect whilst Thorn for his part just rolled his leaf green eyes with a sigh.

"If I'm bad for apologizing for things Jack then your bad at jokes and making up your mind." Thorn joked and smiled at the labrador who in turn smiled back only for his happy features to turn a complete 360 as the dog's face was now one of fear and panic.

"What's with the sudden change of face Jack? Are you scared of the big bad wolf?" Thorn mockingly raised his paws at Jack in a joking manner with his tongue sticking out of his muzzle only for a shadow to form over the joking wolf like a dark cloud.

"I don't t...think your the big bad wolf Thorn." Jack gulped looking behind Thorn as the light blonde and white-furred wolf's ears began to fold against the back of his head in fear before a grey-furred paw was placed on Thorn's shoulder.

"Run!" Jack yelled loudly in fear and panic before the brown-eyed and blonde furred labrador dove into a nearby bush for safety whilst a light cream colored muzzle appeared in Thorns left green-eyed vision.

"How many more times is he going to do that?" The muzzle spoke in a soft and slightly deep tone of voice before Thorn couldn't keep his act up anymore as Jack's head popped out of the bush like a mole as his face beamed with a smile.

"That's something I cant answer Legoshi you know that." Thorn chuckled and crossed his arms whilst looking at the laughing labrador as he pretended to be dragged into the bushes by an imaginary monster.

"I guess your right though I'm sorry I'm late again," Legoshi said to Thorn with a small apologetic chuckle as the grey and cream furred wolf waved at Jack who was now slowly making his way out from the bushes.

Legoshi, unlike Jack, was shyer and quite when it came to a lot of things and unlike Jack, the grey wolf often kept himself just out of arms reach from most mammals when it came to a lot of things. But when he was around Jack and Thorn the wolf seemed to come out of his shell more. He was Thorn's best friend along with Jack and no matter what the trio had always said they'd stick together.

Legoshi wore a pair of grey trousers that seemed to blend a bit into his fur unlike his navy blue buttoned-up shirt which was a bit of a contrast to the grey but it instead made his cream furred features stand out more.

Legoshi smiled softly as said grey wolf looked at Jack with a small chuckle whilst the labrador continued to fight the monster in the bushes.

The grey wolf couldn't help but let a genuine smile creep up onto his face more before turning his head toward Thorn with a chuckle.

Jack and Thorn never truly realized it but they were the only real friends Legoshi had and the same could be said about Thorn.

Unlike Jack, for the most part, both Thorn and Legoshi were feared for what they were by the herbivore population and even by some of the carnivores. This wasn't because Legoshi and Thorn were bad mammals but because of one main thing that affected the balance of the world.

Instincts.

Instincts often caused problems of all variables in this world and sometimes worse things then the usual arguments and fights happened.

As recent reports suggested from the city's news tabloids there had been a number of carnivore attacks on herbivores.

Attacks that resulted in the deaths of herbivores.

Attacks that had the victim devoured by the assailants and that wasn't even counting some of the things that happened within the darker areas and sanctums of the city.

For all intentional purposes on the outside, all mammals got along with each other to keep up looks but deep down no mammal can hide from there true self.

"Not more apologies." Jack chuckled and crossed his arms looking at both Legoshi and Thorn after he had dusted the dirt off of his clothes.

"Sorry, Jack you seem to be friends with the two most apologetic wolves in the world," Thorn said to the smiling labrador with a small laugh before patting Legoshi on the back to which the grey wolf chuckled in slight embarrassment and agreement.

"Why were you late anyway?" Thorn asked Legoshi curiously as the light blonde furred wolf's tail swished steadily behind him whilst Jack jokingly put his paws to his head like a mistic making small whines and grunts before opening his eyes brown eyes wide whilst Thorn just put his paw to his face.

"I sense why he was late. My senses tell me the truth." Jack smirked and chuckled as the golden retriever jokingly danced around the confused looking grey wolf as said wolf tried his hardest to follow Jack with his eyes.

"Aha there it is!" Jack exclaimed loudly in triumph before pulling out a small container from Legoshis pocket to which the wolf looked away in slight embarrassment as Thorn looked closely at the container with Jack as both canines tails began waging.

"You caught one!" Both Thorn and Jack exclaimed happily as the two mammals looked at the rhino beetle that was wandering around the container whilst Legoshi rubbed the back of his head in embarrassment before nodding his head.

"Y...yeah I found him on the way here and well...I didn't want to rush getting him so as not to hurt him..." Legoshi said to the two smiling mammals who continued to look at the beetle with wide happy eyes before Jack put a paw to his muzzle.

"Is it weird that I want to eat him?" Jack said out of nowhere which caused Thorn to look questioningly at the golden retriever whilst Legoshi snatched the container back quickly and carefully before putting it back in his pocket.

"I was only joking," Jack said to Legoshi with a guilty look on his face whilst Thorn chuckled and playfully nudged the grey wolf.

"Come on I promised Jack id get the food today," Thorn said to Legoshi with a smile as both Thorn and Jack began to walk away only for the pair to realize Legoshis stationary form as the grey wolf looked down at the ground with a worried look on his face.

"Whats up Legoshi? Is something wrong? Look I'm sorry about what I said just now." Jack said to the grey wolf in a concerned and caring tone of voice with a hint of guilt as the brown-eyed labrador's ears folded back slightly.

"It's not that... it's well...that promise we all made...about sticking together...to stay friends...you both still want to keep it right?" The grey wolf asked both Thorn and Jack in a quiet yet serious and worried tone of voice as Legoshi kept his gaze focussed solely on the ground.

"What do you mean by that?" The light blonde and white-furred wolf that was Thorn said to Legoshi in a surprised and curious tone of voice to which Jack nodded his head in agreement.

"Yeah what are you trying to get at?" Jack said to the grey wolf with a slightly joking yet concerned tone as the golden retriever put his paws on his hips whilst Thorn began to make his way over to the two mammals.

"Its just...well be starting at Cherryton academy soon...and well...we might drift apart," Legoshi said to both Jack and Thorn with the latter wolf looking saddened and upset at the prospect of possibly losing his two best friends.

Thorn like Legosi understood that things change and mammals move on but this.

This was something Thorn didn't want to change. The wolf was fed up off being alone and on his own.

He was fed up with having to let mammals bully him around like he was nothing more than a way of venting for them.

A way of letting out there true self without any real consequence. But he couldn't because he was a carnivore and carnivores were a danger to every mammal if they let out there true self.

"Like I'll let that happen!" Jack said to Legoshi with a determined smile plastered on his blonde and brown-eyed face before the golden retriever turned and nodded his head at Thorn.

"Right, Thorn?" Jack asked the now surprised yet happy looking leaf green-eyed wolf who nodded his head in response as his long lupine tail began to wag behind him.

"Of course well unless you want us gone?" Thorn said to Legoshi in a joking tone of voice which the grey wolf seemed to take seriously as his gaze shot up in a flash as he shook his head quickly from side to side causing his fur to sway and shake along with his tail.

"Of course not! Your both my best friends! I just thought you'd both be tired of me." Legoshi said to the two mammals in a loud and confident tone of voice which was rare for the grey wolf causing both Thorn and Jack to chuckle and smile in response.

"Then don't worry about it Legoshi. You're stuck with me and Thorn for good." Jack smiled at the grey wolf before patting his head jokingly whilst Thorn couldn't help but chuckle in the background.

Legoshi couldn't hide the smile that spread across his light cream and grey-furred face as Thorn picked Jack up and pretended to throw the labrador into the nearby bush whilst said dog acted perfectly by flailing and dramatically yelling for help from the evil and savage carnivore.

"Now let's get some food before I start taking bites out of Jack." Thorn chuckled at the grey wolf before taking fake bites out of the laughing mess that was Jack as he made a dash away whilst Legoshi began to follow suit with a chuckle.

"Help me Legoshi! Oh, the pain. The pain!" Jack laughed from Thorn's grasp whilst the leaf green-eyed wolf looked behind himself at the smiling and laughing grey wolf that was giving chase as the trio ran toward there favorite noodle bar.

As Legoshi chased after his best friends he couldn't put a paw on it but he felt like the trios first year at Cherryton academy was going to be great.
