After eating far too much cake, Avrria got up, with reluctance, from Aayla's chair. "Great as that was, thanks, Auntie Aayla... I do have to get back some time today," She commented.
"Sure you do, but not now. No point in rushing for stuck-up Sith who think their something," Aayla replied, demonstrating the attitude that had led her into all kinds of chaos in the past. "Besides, we still have cake!" She pointed out,
Avie groaned, "I can't eat any more!" She protested.
"Me neither," The Agent admitted, "But we can still make quite the mess if we throw it at people!" She suggested with a grin.
The young Sith perked up, "True," She agreed.
"Victim-hunting time!" Aayla sung out, very cheerful for someone who fully intended on ruining other's days.
Avrria grabbed the cake and followed her Aunt out to find some 'victims'.
The victims they found and successfully attacked included:
Seven Imperial Guards
Three Sith Apprentices
Six Random staff members in the Imperial Intelligence Headquarters
And couple of Bounty Hunters.
There was also a less successful attack on a Mandalorian, who simply pointed a blaster at them and muttered 'Don't', in such a murderous tone that they backed off.
This prank pulled, Avrria headed off in a much better mood, ready to report back to Sholkaar. And Aayla, suspicious as ever, returned to her browsing of his files.
Delving into some 'technically private' records, the Agent started to scroll through what seemed to be communications between Grathan and Sholkaar. Some shady communications, she noted. Something about a ritual at the Dark Temple that they were preparing for. The Dark Temple, that notorious seed of insanity that rested at Dromund Kaas' heart...
While her Aunt was investigating possibly the most sinister part of the Imperial Capital world, Avrria was listening with limited patience to Sholkaar cackling darkly to himself for a while. That was his main reaction to the Holocron. She wasn't really sure what he was going on about, but she was used to the fact that most senior Sith were completely mad. She just hoped he'd hurry up and get over his bout of insanity so that she could get on with her own life again.
Still, at least his insanity was buying her some credibility as a Sith. That should at least appease her overbearing mother and give her excuses to do as she pleased. So she didn't object, just quietly letting him get on with his ranting and cackling.
After a while, he did divulge some information though. Apparently, it was highly important that 'they' - meaning her, of course - went to the Nexus Room Cantina for a secret meeting with an important imperial diplomat.
Avrria nodded politely, then stepped out of the room and rolled her eyes. A political meeting now? When was this going to get interesting?
Sinya seemed to be thinking along the same lines, "No offense, but if this is a political meeting, I think I'll skip it. Politics is boring, and most Imperial Diplomats are... Kind of racist."
"Eh, that's fair. Sure, go and explore or something. I'm guessing this is some trivial meeting and won't take long," The young Sith shrugged. And that being the case, she didn't need to bother Aayla with it, so she could get straight to work.
Meanwhile, Aayla was playing through some of the recordings she had discovered. In front of her, holographic figures of the two Sith Lords smirked at one another.
"With this ritual, our group can finally harvest the great power of the Dark Temple and bring the rest of the galaxy to it's knees," Grathan grinned.
"Of course, of course. It was an amazing discovery. But first, we must... Disturb the Dark Council. If they are busy fighting one another, they cannot stop us." Sholkaar argued.
"I believe you have a plan for this?" His accomplice questioned.
He nodded, a touch smugly, "I do. There are... Certain members of the Dark Council who still resent Darth Nox's ascension to their ranks. I intend to pour salt in this wound."
"How?"
"We'll frame Nox. Well, perhaps not personally. She is... Troublesome. But her daughter is arriving on Korriban soon. If I take the child... I can mould her to our plan. She surely cannot stop us, a little girl like her..." Sholkaar mused.
Aayla cursed and shut off the recording. She had heard enough from this pest. He had planned this years before Avrria was even his apprentice. And now, she could be in his trap at this very moment.
She had to find her, and warn her! Jumping up, she rushed off to track her down.
Avrria strode into the cantina and looked around. She located and approached a member of staff. "I'm here for a meeting," She told him.
He looked at her nervously. She supposed that was the affect of looking like a Sith. "Of course, my lady. Your... Associates are waiting in our private room."
It wasn't until she was on the elevator he had led her to that she questioned that. 'Associates.' Sholkaar had only mentioned one contact. What should she expect?
Her hand instinctively moved to her saber hilt as she stepped off the elevator and through the doorway. This was where she had been told to go.
The room was lined with armed guards. There was another Sith standing among them. He approached her as she entered, gesturing to the guards.
Twenty blasters suddenly turned to face her.
"Ah, you've arrived. Excellent. Lord Grathan is expecting you." He told her.
"You've made a mistake..." She began, the uneasy feeling that they hadn't got the wrong person after all creeping up on.
"No, we haven't. Guards, take her."
After that, things became quite confused. Avie remembered activating her lightsaber, and a struggle with the guards. But there were too many of them, and an armed Sith to contend with too, and things soon became hazy. There was a speeder. She recalled being dragged to a speeder. Then they were flying high over the forest, and she felt dizzier and dizzier...
Things soon turned back.
Aayla Talon's speeder pulled up outside the Nexus Room Cantina just in time for her to see her young relative on the back of another speeder. That was racing away.
She was too late.
