"Okay It's time for some last-minute training for the contest, what do you say Dawn are you in"? Ash says charging into the training ground behind the pokemon center, with two pokeballs in hand. As Dawn, Mew, and Brock follow behind, the former team rocket trio decided to train elsewhere.

"I don't know Ash we are rivals after all in this contest so I don't wanna reveal all my secret techniques to you beforehand". Dawn explains as Ash stops to think for a moment.

"Alright, that sounds fair, but do you wanna borrow one of my Pokemon to train with, so your pokemon don't get beat up before the contest". Ash suggests putting away the two pokeballs and pulls out the rest of his pokeballs(Minus Mewtwo's) to offer one to Dawn to borrow. Hearing this Dawn's face light's up and looks over the Pokeball to find the one she wants.

"Really?! Then can I borrow Aipom, she loves helping me Practice". Dawn asks excitedly, looking for her.

"Sure". Ash says with a chuckle as he hands her Aipoms Pokeball. As the two are about the head in separate directions to train Brock chooses to speak up.

"Hey just to double-check, but are you two registered for the contest"? He asks, getting two different reactions from the trainers in front of him, Ash holds up a victory sign, and Dawn looks startled.

"I did it when the girls were shopping, and you were recovering from Croagunk Poison… Again". Ash explains calmly, before noticing Dawn's crisis beside him. "Hey Dawn what's wrong"?

"I FORGOT"! She shouts before running off to register to leave a trail of dust behind her and two sweat dropping boys.

"Uhh, okay? So Ash who are you using for your contest"? Brock asks turning his attention back to his brother in all but blood.

"Here how about I show you". Ash says through two different pokeballs.

(Time skip to that night)

Dawn couldn't sleep that night even with Ash's snoring, and Brocks uhh passionate sleep talking her mind just wouldn't shut up, and her nerves are on high alert about tomorrow. Sighing to herself she lips out of her top bunk and makes her way out to the balcony with her pokeballs in hand.

"Jigglypuff Piplup come on out". She says releasing the two from their spheres, as the two pokemon materialize they let out a yawn.

"Jiggly"? "Lup"?

"Sorry to wake you guys". Dawn apologies as she leans down to their level to talk. "I'm just so nervous about tomorrow, I mean I know we're going to do great, but I can't help but worry, something might happen you know"? She asks as the two Mon look at each other and shrug.

"Yay I figured". She says with a sigh before pulling out the ribbon her mother gave her for good luck, and showed it off to the two pokemon, as they're about to head back inside, dawn looks up at the full Moon and remembers something.

"Oh ya, I forgot to get the name of that girl yesterday who found my choker"! (A.N I know I forgot to write that scene, but it went down the same way as in the anime)

(Time skip)

It's finally the day of the contest, and the three coordinators make their way to the contest hall to get ready. The boys and girls make their way to their respective dressing rooms, and Brock helps the pokemon to get dressed in their cheer outfits. Meanwhile, various people from around the world tune in to watch the contest.

(cut to Pallet Town)

Professor Oak and Tracy were setting up a Monitor outside in the ranch so that all of Ash's Pokemon could join in watching Ash's first contest performance. Meanwhile, Delia is setting up food, and a seating area for all the humans attending as well.

"Ash doing Contests? Now, this I have to see to believe". Misty says having just arrived at the ranch, to join in the festivities.

"Well settle down then Red, and enjoy Ashy boys big show is going to start soon. And besides, he DID tell everyone at his birthday, that he was going to try doing Contests. Remember"? Gary explains cooly from his seat. Huffing to herself Misty crosses her arms and turns away.

"I remember, but I thought he was joking at the time". Misty explains as she takes her seat next to the water types, and pulls Azurill closer into her chest.

"Now, everyone settles down, the show is starting soon". Oak explains having finally finished setting up the projector, and speaker. Everyone makes their way to their seats and makes their predictions for how Ash will do in the contest.

(Cut to Johanna's(Dawn's Mom) House)

"This is so exciting I wonder how our Little Dawn will do". Johanna says to Her Glameow

"Now"!

(Cut to a Certain house in the Sinnoh region)

In the house of a certain person, a dark-clad woman is tuned into the regional pokemon contest, and as she waits for it to start she goes over a list of people participating, she found online. As she goes down the list a familiar name catches her eye in surprise.

"So he's entering Pokemon contests now as well, Huh? Well, things are about to get interesting". She says to herself as a small smile graces her face.

(And back to the contest hall)

Ash had finally finished getting ready in his Sir Arron inspired aura guardian outfit as he makes his way into the waiting area with all the other Coordinators, when he finally spots a familiar Red hairdo.

"HEY! Jessie, there you are". Ash calls out to his friend as he makes his way over to her in the crowd, but has to take a moment to pause to check out her outfit. Jessie is wearing a long red Chinese dress without sleeves and an open slit for her legs to move freely, the dress has a black trim and purple flames decorating it from the bottom up. On her arms are elbow red gloves, and on her feet are red heels. To finish off the look is a purple domino mask with a black scale pattern. "What's with the mask you know you don't need to hide your identity anymore right"?

"There are two reasons why I wear a mask twerp". Jessie says with a flip of her long hair before going on to explain. "First even though Jamesie, Meowth, and Aren't Public enemy number 1 anymore doesn't mean there aren't though out there who will just let former criminals roam free, not to mention if the Boss ever comes looking for us this will help keep my identity safe".

"But aren't you registered under your real name"? Ash asks curiously

"I am, but who cares about details like that, besides who doesn't like a mysterious girl like me, and the mask only amplifies that effect". Jessie explains proud of herself, while Ash sweat drops.

"Figures". He mumbles to himself, before remembering the other reason why he came over here. "By the way have you seen Dawn I've been looking all over for her and she hasn't shown up yet"? He Asks looking around for his cousin

"If you're looking for Twerpet, she's still getting ready in the dressing room". Jessie says pointing behind her towards the said room, "She's having hair trouble, but don't worry she'll be out before it's her turn. Not even I take that much time on my Hair".

Ash takes a look behind Jessie before sighing to himself. "Of course, but please hurry Dawn.". He says to himself before looking around noticing the lack of cat-mons, and blue hair. "By the way where's James and Meowth"?

"Oh they're outside working at a food booth, don't worry your twerpy little head about it". Jessie explains as the two settles into silence waiting for the show to begin, and Dawn.

(Meanwhile with Dawn)

"AHHH this is such a disaster"! I cry to myself trying to get my hair right for the contest, but no matter what I try it just isn't cooperating. After another minute of messing with my hair, Arceus must have finally had mercy on me, and someone came over to help me since a woman dressed up as a prince walks up to me and grabs my brush straight out of my hair.

"Here let me help you". She says as I look into the reflection of the mirror to see the same person who helped me with my choker, now helping me again with my hair.

"Hey, you're the person who helped me the other day! Thanks again". I say smiling as I get a good look at her. She's a tall redhead wearing a white prince-like outfit that highlights her porcelain skin perfectly, as I stare at her longer I start to blush embarrassed at my behavior before remembering I never got her name. "Oh, I'm dawn, what's your name"? I ask trying to make conversation.

"I'm Zoey, nice to meet you, Dawn". Zoey says with a melodious voice to my ears, before adding. "So is this your first contest"? She asks, and WHat? How could she tell?

"How can you tell"? I ask amazed

"Your body Language is screaming with first-time jitters". Zory explains with a musical chuckle... Okay, what is Happening to me I ask myself as I blush.

"So have you entered any contests before"? I continue genuinely curious

"Three contests, one ribbon. And there Your hair is done". Zoey says as she steps back from my hair setting my brush down, I smile to myself as I take a closer look approvingly at the work done, before turning back to Zory. "Thanks again, and do you mind if I see your contest ribbon". I ask eagerly, making Zoey chuckle to herself again.

"Sure". She says holding out the contest Ribbon for me to examine. After talking for another Minute it's time for us to separate, for the contest is about to start. I make my way to the waiting room to find Ash, and Jessie waiting together watching one of the monitors in the room.

"Hey, Guys". I shout making my way over to them, as I reach them the two turn to me welcoming me back.

"Hey dawn you finally finished getting dressed just in time, the contest is about to start. What took you so long"? Ash asks as I finally join the group.

"My hair took forever, but a (really) nice girl named Zory helped me with it. Have you seen her around"? I ask trying to look around for Zoey, as Ash shakes his head.

"Sorry I haven't seen her, but the first person is about to start their appeal round performance, don't you want to watch"? Ash asks as I turn my attention back to the screen.

(On screen)

"Hello Everyone, and welcome to the Jubilife city Pokemon contest. My name is Marian, and I'll be you MC for today"! A Ginger-haired woman says starting the show as the camera pans out to the audience to show the crowd. Just barely you can make out the site of Brock, with buneary, Mew(disguised as a Pichu), Aipom, Pikachu, Ralts, and Mime Jr all dressed up and cheering along. As the Camera turns back to Marian she gestures to the judges. "Now let me introduce the Judges for today's Contest.

First, the Camera pans to a red-suited man with dark hair that sports grey stripes. "First is Mr. Contesta, Head of the Pokemon Activities Cominutte". She Introduces as Mr. Contesta greets the crowd.

"Thank you all for coming here. I hope to see a great show from all of our Pokemon and Coordinators". He says as the camera moves to the next Judge, a shorter man in a grey suit, plus a red tie, with Brock-like eyes.

"Next is the President of the Pokemon Fan club Mr. Sukizo". Marian says as Mr. Sukizo waves to the crowd.

"It is remarkable to be here". Mr. Sukizo says using his favorite word. And Finally, the Camera moves to the third, and final judge, the local Nurse Joy.

"And our Finely Judge Jubilife city's very own Nurse Joy". she introduces as the crowd goes into a Frenzy(Especially Brock)

"It's wonderful to be here today, I cannot wait to see the best effort put forth by Trainer, and pokemon alike". Joy says as the Camera moves back to Marian.

"Now it's time for our first Contestants to show their stuff, so let's have a hand for contestant number 1 ZOEY"! Marian announces moving her arm to the side to turn the camera's attention towards the white-clad girl as she steps onto the stage. As Zoey steps into the spotlight and holds up a Pokeball with a Smoak seal on it.

"Misdreavus Spotlight"! Zoey shouts through the Pokeball and allows a smokescreen to appear showing her pokemon in Silhouette.

(back to Ash & Co.)

"Hey, she's the one who helped me"! Dawn calls out as she watches Zoey's performance on screen. Ash hearing this starts to pay closer attention to the Performance

"She's pretty good". Ash says watching her use of Confuse Ray, but her next move makes Ash pause. "Huh" the group continues to watch Zoey's performance which ends with a bang. Once over Zoey makes her way backstage, while other coordinators take their turn in the appeal round. Once she's backstage Dawn, Ash, and Jessie make their way over to say hi.

"Great job Zoey, you were amazing out there". Dawn says greeting her first.

"Gee thanks dawn". Zoey says before noticing the two people besides Dawn. "By the way who are your friends"? Being the nice person he is Ash steps forward to introduce himself first

"Hello I'm Dawn Cousin Ash, it's nice to meet you, Zoey". Ash says shaking her hand

"Nice to meet you, Ash". Zoey says with a smile before, her face turns into one of shock, with what Ash says next.

"Your Misdreavus just Learned Shock wave didn't it"? Ash asks leaving Zoey in shock, How did he know her Misdreavus learned that move recently.

"How"

"How did I know"? Ash asks before getting a nod of confirmation from Zoey signaling for him to continue. "I noticed it took a bit of time for Misdeavus to charge up the move before firing it. Meaning it recently just learned the move and haven't completely mastered it yet". Ash explains while Zoey thinks it over. He's right, but to be able to tell that so quickly just from watching her perform once, must make him a very experienced Coordinator.

"I see, thanks for the advice, I'll be sure to work on that more in the future". Zoey says thanking him before turning her attention to Jessie. "And you are"?

"I'm Jessie, and I'm the one who's going to win this whole thing". Jessie Says proud of herself, making Dawn and Ash Sweatdrop.

"I see". Zoey says as they continue watching the contest, and soon it's Jessie's turn, and her Appeal performance is… interesting.

"That looks Painful". Dawn says watching Jessie's head be completely devoured by Jame's Carnavine.

"Well, you can't say he's not committed". Zory jokes before looking around and notices Ash is missing. "By the way where's Ash"?

"Oh he's up next, so he's making his way to the stage right now"? Dawn explains absent-mindedness.

"Is see".

(cut to Ash)

Breath in. Breath out. Breath in. Breath out. I think to myself as I make my way to the stage, this is just a contest, I've been in much more stressful situations than this before; Pokemon leagues, the Battle frontier, Legendary pokemon, and three evil teams were more stressful than this, and I came out on top almost every time. Taking a deep breath I hold up a Pokeball with a bubble seal on with, after all, there's nothing I can't do when my Pokemon are by my side.

"And our Next contestant is Ash Ketchum"! the Announcer announces as I step into the spotlight it's showtime.

(Cut to Oak's Ranch)

"And our Next contestant is Ash Ketchum"! Ash's pokemon Cheer as they watch their trainer walkout in his Aura Guardian outfit.

"Wow, Ashy Boy looks pretty cool in that outfit. Ms. Ketchum where did you get the idea to do an Aura Guardian outfit as one of Ash's contest outfits"? Gary Ash has been trying to study the Aura Guardians recently, but haven't been able to find anything yet, other than the legend of Sir Aaron. Hearing this question Delia giggled to herself, proud of her choice.

"Well Ash told me about his adventures in the kingdom of Cameroon, and I thought I should make him a costume in honor of it, and Lucario Ash became friends with ''. She explains while leaving out that she also made the outfit because Ash is training to become an Aura Guardian himself, but she's keeping that one to herself for now letting Ash be the one to tell Gary when the time is right.

"This should be good". Misty says eating some popcorn watching the show go on.

(Cut to a certain house in Sinnoh)

"And our Next contestant is Ash Ketchum"!

"So he's next, let's see how he does". The Dark clad woman from earlier comments to herself as she watches the Contest with her trusty Garchomp by her side.

(back to Ash)

I step into the spotlight as my eyes adjust to the light, and with a Grin I tose my Pokeball into the air before catching it and Throwing the ball towards the field, calling out my Pokemon.

"Bulbasaur I Choose You"! I shout as in a flurry of blue bubbles and light emerges Bulbasaur, and I call out my first move.

"Now use Razor leaf". I command, and before the bubbles disperse a flurry of razor-sharp leaves fly from Bulbasaur's Bulb popping through all the bubbles creating a rainbow sparkle in the light, and makes Bulbasaur appear to shine in the light.

"Would you look at that Effect Created from the combination of Bulbasaur's Razor Leaf with a well-chosen Seal. the rainbow Sparkles from the shattered Bubbles highlighting Bublasaur's Clever eyes, and making that Adorable smile shine"! Marian shouts over her mike, smiling to myself I call out my next moves.

"Alright, Bulbasaur next use Sunny Day ''! I call out as Bulbasaur runs out into the middle of the field and launches a ball of light from the center of the blub into the sky making the sunlight turn Harsh.

"An unexpected Sunny Day! What is Ash Planning to do next"? The Announcer calls out as Ash smirks knowing what's going to happen next will knock their socks off.

"Now finish it up with a rapid-fire Solar Beam". Ash calls out as Bulbasaur releases several small solar Beams into the air, that once they go off creates a flurry of fireworks in different shapes and colors.

"What a spectacle, a combination of a Sunny day powered up Solar beam creating a light show feast for the eyes". Marian says as the light Show ends and Ash Gives a bow. "Now let's turn to our judges and see what they think". She continues as the camera turns to the judges to hear what the Judges think of Ash's performance.

"The use of Solar Beam makes the move a far more beautiful outlook on the power normally displayed when we see a solar beam, showing strength, and beauty can go hand in hand. Not to mention that Bulbasaur just looked so happy to be out there performing with its trainer it certainly brought a smile to my face". Joy says giving her opinion

"Trainer and Pokemon working hand in hand to show everyone that not only are they powerful, but can bring a smile to everyone's face to match their own. A very well done performance". Mr. Contesta says giving his approval

"Yes and remarkable". Mr. Sukizo says being himself.

Once the judges finish giving their opinions, Ash returns Bulbasaur to his ball and makes his way backstage.

(cut to Oak's Ranch)

While all of Ash pokemon are cheering for Ash & Bulbasaur, Misty is Jawslack.

"I can't believe that Buffon Ash I met at the beginning of his journey is now capable of pulling off performances like that! My how has he grown". Misty says amazed that Ash and Bulbasaur pulled off a firework show like that.

"My, I haven't seen Bulbasaur that happy in a long time. I guess he missed traveling with Ash". Oak says happily noticing the pure joy in Bulbasaur's eyes.

"Oh Ash you look so handsome, I'm sure you'll go far". Delia says with tears of joy in her eyes.

"Nice going Ashy Boy, I think I'll take a detour while in Sinnoh to congratulate you on a job well done". Gary says to himself, impressed by his childhood friend.

(Cut the house in Sinnoh)

"Nicely done, I can't wait to see that creativity in a battle". The Woman says while petting her most powerful pokemon's chin.

"GAR"!

(Backstage at the contest)

"So how did I do"? Ash Asks he makes his way back to the group.

"Not bad". Zoey says, giving him a thumbs up.

"Thanks, Zoey"

"Pretty good for a twerp, but not as good as my performance". Jessie says making Ash sweatdrop

"Of course"?

"Nice job Ash, but I'm going to outshine you all" Dawn says ready for her performance.

"Uhh, Dawn aren't you up next"? Ash asks as Dawn starts to panic and makes her way onto the stage.

"Ahhh I'm going to be Late"! Dawn shouts as she makes her way to the main stage.

"Break a leg" Zoey calls out as Dawn leaves them in a dust trail

(Time skip)

"Nice Job Dawn". Ash congratulates his cousin as she returns to the waiting room.

"Thanks," Dawn says nervously as she catches her breath, as the group is talking and giving compliments Marian's voice interrupts them, turning their attention back to the screen.

"And now it's time to see the 8 lucky contestants who are moving onto the next round". Marian announces as the images of 8 cards appear on the screen and everyone waits to see if their face will be behind one of the cards. Who will be the lucky 8?

I get it there are some spelling mistakes that grammarly & autocorrect didn't catch. But please stop commenting on it, it's kinda annoying and I don't have a Beta reader so please stop.
