Author's Note: This is the first chapter to the first story I have written, if you like it, maybe I'll write more. This "what-if" is based off a thought I had randomly. You need to have seen the episode Ron Millionaire to understand what is going on.

I.

"So, what do you think the chances are that she fell in love with the real me?" Ron asked hopefully, looking towards his lifelong best friend. While he was down about losing his millions, Ron had enjoyed the time he and Bonnie had spent together. He couldn't explain it, but he did.

"Well…" Kim responded, her voice wavering slightly. She had wanted to shout No! This is Bonnie we're talking about! But her better judgement had taken over.

Kim didn't like the way Bonnie had been treating Ron, all the bullying, the insults, the put-downs… and now by acting interested in him just for his newfound cash. And to make things worse, Ron was aware of why she changed, but didn't seem to care! Figuring losing the money was tough enough, she decided not to let his hopes down just yet.

Ron straightened up with a glimmer of hope. He'd come to enjoy having Bonnie around him, although he couldn't place why. He concluded that he just wasn't used to receiving attention from girls – aside from Kim that is. I mean, she said it herself, he thought as the conversation replayed in his mind:

Ninety-Nine Million Dollars!

Ron Stoppable, you are such a hottie!

Are you saying that because I'm rich?

Uh-huh!

II.

Ron peered around the restaurant from his booth. He spotted Bonnie walking towards the exit of Bueno Nacho #582.

He walked over to intercept her. Kim looked on, fearing the worst.

"Move it loser!" Bonnie shouted with an attitude, shoving Ron aside, and walking out of the restaurant.

Ron looked on, with hurt and disappointment evident on his face. Oh well, it is Bonnie after all, he thought. "Good seeing you too," he responded to nobody, brightening up slightly.

"Actually, I thought she'd be harsher," Kim walked up to his side, feeling a mix of relief and concern.

"Hey, it's cool KP," Ron replied cheerfully, following his best friend to their booth.

III.

"Welcome home loser!"

Bonnie shut the door and turned to see her older sister, Lonnie, sitting in the next room. "I thought you were supposed to be with that rich boyfriend of yours, not moping around the house!"

Bonnie became angry. "He's not rich anymore, you moron," she shouted before storming up the stairs to her room, shutting the door, and asking herself Why would I spend a moment with that loser otherwise?

IV.

Bonnie walked into Middleton High, heading towards her locker. Rounding a corner, she saw Ron and Kim, chatting and laughing at Kim's locker. Ugh, look at those two losers, she thought, annoyed. But instead of the usual disgust, she found herself feeling alone, watching Ron and Kim chat, laugh, and then leave for class.

Checking her watch, Bonnie quickly followed them to class. Mr. Rogers did not tolerate tardiness, and she wouldn't become the laughing stock of the period. She took an empty seat next to Tara, her best friend. Suddenly, a loud voice rang out into the classroom.

"LISTEN UP PEOPLE!"

Steve Barkin swiftly entered the classroom. The ex-military man had an annoyed expression on his face as he surveyed the room for a moment, before continuing. "Last night Mr. Rogers tripped over his carpet and broke both his arms, so I'll be covering this class."

Ron groaned loudly. "Crap. Second Barkin period in a row," he complained, leaning over on his desk.

"STOPPABLE are you disrespecting me AGAIN?" Barkin shouted, walking over to Ron's desk. Nice job loser, Bonnie thought with a smirk.

Ron grew flustered and quickly responded. "Oh no, Mr. B, I was just…"

"Oh yes!" Barkin interrupted with a grin, "and we know that means!"

"Extra homework?" Ron asked worried.

"Extra homework," Barkin confirmed handing Ron a few sheets of paper before walking back to his desk.

Bonnie began laughing quietly, and Kim shot her a dirty look. Before she could respond, Barkin began his lecture. As Bonnie tried to concentrate on taking notes, she found it difficult. For one, she was bored, and two, every few moments, she'd find herself looking over at Ron. He was sulking in his chair, clearly not paying attention, and upset about the extra homework. Poor Ron… she thought before stopping herself. WAIT WHAT! Where did that come from? Bonnie shook her head in disgust, now clearly confused. She was used to thinking of him as a loser. Someone lower on the food chain than the chess captain. Someone she had zero interest in. Why did she care what he felt? Was there was more to Ron than meets the eye?

I'll figure this out later, Bonnie decided and tried to focus her attention back to Barkin, who was now rambling about some old book, somewhat unsuccessfully.

V.

Bonnie walked over to Tara's house and rang the doorbell. After a few moments, the door opened and Tara's mother smiled down at her.

"Oh hi Bonnie!" Mrs. King greeted, inviting her in. "Are you looking for Tara?"

"Hi Mrs. King, yes I am," Bonnie responded and walked inside.

"Tara! Bonnie is here for you!" Mrs. King called loudly.

Tara came down the stairs, entered the room and smiled.

"Hi Bonnie! What's up?" she asked cheerfully.

"Hi Tara, could I talk to you? I've had some confusing thoughts," Bonnie replied, looking somewhat unsettled.

Bonnie followed Tara upstairs, and they sat down on her bed. Bonnie began to tell Tara her new thoughts about Ron, and the feeling of being alone when she saw him. She also explained their experiences while he was rich, and how she blew him off at Bueno Nacho the day he lost his money. Tara listened, digesting what she was being told. When Bonnie concluded, Tara sat deep in thought, before looking directly at Bonnie.

"Bonnie, I think you may be getting some feelings for Ron."

Bonnie's head snapped up, and then down again. "What! That's preposterous. I am not getting feelings for Ron!" she snapped nervously.

Tara looked at Bonnie, uncertain. "Are you sure? From what you described, it seems that something may be developing. And for one, you called him Ron, not Stoppable."

Bonnie looked up again. I couldn't possibly have feelings for Ron, could I? He's Kim's lapdog, not mine! she thought. "Tara, what could I possibly want with Stoppable? I'm the queen of the food chain, and he's the definition of the bottom!"

"Then why do you think you became interested in Ron?" Tara asked.

"I don't know, okay? I'm confused. I think I need to go home and process all of this," Bonnie replied, lowering her defenses. "Ugh. This just gets more complicated the more I think about it!

"Alright, well contact me if you want to talk some more," Tara said, walking Bonnie downstairs. When she reached the front door, Tara grabbed Bonnie's shoulder and stopped her.

"Bonnie, I think you should apologize to Ron," She whispered.

"Apologize to Ron? What for?" Bonnie questioned trying to pull away.

Tara held her grip strong, and continued. "Well the gold-digging, for one. And maybe all the put-downs too. Maybe that will make your feelings clearer. It could just be regret of how you treated him, or some new feelings towards him. Perhaps apologizing will make that clear to you."

Bonnie stared at Tara. Since when is she this smart?

So, that's it for Chapter I. Should I continue?
