Facing of a Terminator.

3 months has passed and the new generation of heroes were growing well. Jiro had fully recovered from her doubt and could go on patrols again. Right now she was on a solo patrol, after managing to convince her mentors that she could do some solo work. But still promised to call for help if she would ever need to. She watched the city for a bit and noticed someone holding a speech to the people. Jiro didn't pay it much mind but then she noticed something not to far away from her... She gasped when she saw the barrel of a sniper. Someone was going to shoot the man holding the speech.

But this was no ordinary assassin. This was Slade Wilson, known by his codename, Deathstroke, an elite mercenary, commonly considered the world's greatest and deadliest assassin. Genetically engineered to surpass all human limits, Slade was once a soldier before becoming known as Deathstroke the Terminator. He considers the role of Deathstroke a job, not a reflection of who he is. Most of the rumors about him are true, and he doesn't mind, because he loves his job, and he earned his reputation through countless successful contracts.

And right now he was hired to kill the speech man. Why? Who knows? He don't question his employers, when he is hired to do a job, he completes it and get's paid, that's just how his life works these days. He had the perfect shot and was about to pull the triger. But he shot was thrown of by a loud scream that made him stumble, making him miss his target and causing the crowd to scatter in panic and the speech man began to leave.

Deathstroke shook his head before glaring at the one who dared to interfere with his job "That was a really bad move kid".

"Maybe. But you were going to kill that man. I couldn't just stand by and watch it happen" Jiro said.

"So you are one of those new heroes on the block. Piece of advice kid. Wake up from whatever fantasy dream you live in. Being a hero won't bring you anything but trouble" Deathstroke said.

"Trust me, I've been in plenty of trouble since I became a hero. But danger just comes with the territory. You understand that, right?" Jiro asked.

"I do indeed. I live a very dangerous life. But the difference is that what I do is just a job, and I get paid for it. You put your life on the line and gains nothing meaningful from it" Deathstroke answered.

"Maybe so. But saving people is it's own reward" Jiro said.

Deathstroke shook his head "The naivety of a child. Being a hero is a waste of time".

"Oh shut up. I made my choice, and now I will take you down" Jiro said as she got ready.

"Very well kid. I will teach your the harsh reality" Deathstroke said as he got in to a simple stance. He wasn't going to need his weapons for this fight.

Jiro charged in, and leapt in to the air to deliver a strong kick. But Deathstroke simply grabbed her leg and threw her across the roof. Jiro slid to a halt before getting back up and was ready to continue. Deathstroke had little time to waste, if his target gets away, his contract will have failed, he needed to end this quickly. With blinding speed, Deathstroke threw a punch that Jiro barely managed to block. But the force of the blow sent her back, almost knocking her of the ledge. Deathstroke was inhumanly strong, there was no way she could even dream about overpowering him.

Jiro saw Deathstroke coming at her again, and she used her scream, but Deathstroke managed to avoid it by dashing to the side just before Jiro screamed. Jiro had to avoid another blow, but stumbled on to the roof. She looked up and gasped as Deathstroke was about to bring down his fist. Jiro moved her head to the side, and Deathstroke's fist cracked the roof, and due to them being on an old building, both ended up falling through the roof. Deathstroke stood up but noticed Jiro was not in front of him anymore. So she had used the dust to get away and hide.

Deathstroke narrowed his one eye and began looking around for the young girl. It was clear she was no amateur, she had been trained. And judging by her power, she must've been trained by Black Canary, someone Slade had prior experience with. He looked around for a bit until he sensed someone coming at him from the side and he quickly reached out his hand and grabbed Jiro by the neck before her kick could land on his face.

"I see you tried to take advantage of the fact that I only had one eye and attack me from my blind spot. Don't get me wrong, it was a very logical strategy that might even have worked on a lesser man. But I am a professional, and you are not the only person who's tried to use that strategy against me" Deathstroke said before tossing Jiro in to a wall, hard enough to damage it "You did well for a rookie, kid. But now I have a contract to fulfill".

Jiro just chuckled a little "You already failed".

Slade stopped and looked at her "What do you mean?".

Jiro smiled at him "I may be a kid, but I am not stupid or arrogant. Canary made sure to beat that out of me quickly. The moment you dominated me in our little fist fight, I realized I couldn't beat you. But I did not have to beat you, I just needed to waste you time".

Deathstroke turned around, his one eye growing wide before it turned in to a glare "You thought you could distract me so my target could get away? Do you really think I won't be able to track him down and finish the job?".

"I guess you could. But by the time you find him, my friends will have caught up to you. While I was hiding I sent out a distress call and now all my friends knows exactly where you are. Can you beat them all and finish your contract?" Jiro asked.

Deathstroke growled before he suddenly began to chuckle "Well played kid. Well played. Normally I would kill you for this, but this is mostly my fault for underestimating you. I should've known better given I've fought plenty of gifted kids. So I will allow you to enjoy your little victory this time. But make no mistake little girl. Next time we meet, I will not be so kind".

With that, Deathstroke dropped a smoke bomb and vanished, leaving Jiro to wait for her back up to arrive. She lost the fight, but she gained a far better victory.

Two weeks passed and Izuku had also come a long way on his training to handle his new power, and All Might decided he was ready to get some experience. And Metropolis was a good place to start. With Superman around, the city's crime rate was much lower than most other cities, and the few criminals that did try to cause trouble were for the most part rather easy to deal with. So most of the time, Izuku and All Might could just travel around the city and help people with smaller problems.

Izuku just finished saving a cat that was stuck in a tree and handed it back to a little girl "Here you go".

"Thank you mister hero!" The girl said before running of with her cat.

"Good job my boy. You are growing in to a fine hero" All Might said proudly.

"Thank you All Might. But saving cats isn't really what I expected when you said we were going to patrol Metropolis" Izuku admitted.

"Ah, you must have expected a round of crime fighting. While that could still happen, being a hero is about more than just punching some criminals. We help people out in all sorts of trouble. Be it to save them from a monster or to just help them move their car" All Might explained.

Izuku nods "Yes sir, I will not complain".

"Very good. Now shall we continue?" All Might asked.

"Yes sir!" Izuku said with determination.

They continued their patrol, helping people left and right. They helped a man get his keys out of a well. They helped a woman get to work in time, and at one point they even helped some people out of a car crash. But the only criminal they stopped was a single bank robber who for obvious reasons wasn't a real challenge. After a whole day of doing random good deeds, they took a break on top of a building, getting a nice view over the city of Metropolis. Ah yes Metropolis, one of the largest and most well-known cities in the United States, owing largely to the fact that it is the adopted hometown of Metropolis' favorite son, Superman. The history of Metropolis stretches back to the year 1542 when Italian navigator Vincenzo Gnanatti discovered the region while in the employ of the Dutch. Prior to European colonization, the region was occupied by the Algonquin Native American tribe. It wasn't until 1634 however that the first settlement was established by Dutchman Paul De Vries. The settlement was named De Vries Village and occupies the neighborhood now known as "Old City" in the Eastern section of Queensland Park. Throughout the 17th and 18th centuries, De Vries Village prospered as a thriving seaport and it became an integral strategic location for General George Washington's army during the Revolutionary War. It has been the center of many exciting events ever since.

"You did well today, Izuku. Starting small will help you reach the big leagues" All Might said.

"Thank you. I am happy I can help people. Even with small things like this" Izuku said. He didn't want to become a hero for fortune or fame, he just wanted to help people, the same reason why All Might became a hero.

"Good, keep that mindset. Now this day calls for a meal. Wait here and I will buy us some nice food" All Might said before he vanished.

Izuku waited for a bit while looking over the city... but then he noticed a woman on a roof. At first he wondered what she was up to... he then go wide eyes when he saw the woman step on the ledge. It didn't take a super detective to figure out what she was going to do, and with no time to waste, Izuku began to rush over to her. The Woman stood on the ledge of the building, looking at the streets below. With tears running down her face, the woman closed her eyes and was about to take one final step.

"NO! DON'T DO IT!" Izuku shouted as he quickly grabbed the woman to keep her from jumping.

"Let me go!" The woman begged as she tried to rush for the ledge again.

"No! I will not let you do that! Whatever you are going through, it's not worth throwing your life away!" Izuku argued.

"You can't throw away your life if you never had a life to begin with!" The woman cried.

"JUST STOP!" Izuku shouts before finally forcing the woman away from the ledge. She fell to her knees, crying as Izuku held her shoulders to keep her from trying to run for the ledge again "Just talk to me. Tell me what could be so horrible that you would try to end your life like this".

The woman sobbed "I already told you. I don't have a life. My parents never wanted me, I never had any friends, I am out of money, I can't find a job anywhere and no one wants to help me. I am a waste of space, the world will never even notice I am gone".

"I refuse to believe that. I can't believe that there isn't a single person in this world that don't care about you. Think, is there really no one who ever showed you kindness?" Izuku asked.

The woman looked at him, but decided to think about what he said "There... was one... my girlfriend. She was always kind to me, she helped me through my difficult school life and was the only one who made me feel like I mattered..." The woman shook her head "But she moved away and I haven't heard from her since. She must have forgotten about me by now".

"I don't think so. You said you don't owe a lot of money. Does that mean you don't have a phone?" Izuku asked.

"I don't even have a home anymore. I was evicted from my apartment last month" The woman answered.

Izuku sighed "Then there's no wonder you haven't heard from her. She had no way of contacting you".

The woman face palmed "Of course... she wouldn't just abandon me like this. I am such an idiot".

"We all make stupid mistakes sometimes. I will get you some help and I will see if anyone can contact your girlfriend and arrange a meeting with her. How does that sound?" Izuku asked.

The woman was silent for several moments before she nodded "Alright... I trust you".

Izuku smiled and helped her up "Come on, let's get down from here".

As Izuku was helping the woman. All Might had watched the whole thing. He wanted to jump in and help the woman, but decided to wait and see if Izuku had the skill every hero needed: The ability to save a life without his powers. And he succeeded, putting the proudest smile All Might has ever had on his face.

Izuku had a bright future ahead of him.
