A story that came to me one day and I just had to do it. :)

This story takes place after "My Little Pony Equestria Girls: Legend Of Everfree" and will contain spoilers for "My Little Pony Equestria Girls: Friendship Games".

The Gift Of A Second Chance

Twilight Sparkle took a deep breath as she activated her necklace portal, entering in familiar coordinates. Leaving a note for her friends, she held the necklace in front of her and the portal opened up in a myriad of colors that usually dazzled her, but this time, she was anxious to get to the Grant Mansion. Quickly, she ran into the portal and it wasn't long before she stepped into the living room of the mansion, the familiar surroundings helping her calm down a little as she turned and made the portal close behind her. She took a deep breath and glanced around, hoping to find Snare-Oh or the other Galactic Monsters. "Hello?" She called out, knowing that someone was usually at the mansion.

"Hello, young one."

The unfamiliar voice made her jump and she turned to find a tall being behind her. His body was black and looked like a night sky with stars scattered all over, his hands were white and looked strong and he had three horns on his head. His green eyes gazed into her own purple eyes and she swallowed hard, backing up a little bit. She suddenly felt her body freeze and grew afraid as the being drew closer. He reached out a hand to her face and she flinched, closing her eyes in fear, but she felt a gentle touch as the hand gently cupped her cheek. "Don't be afraid, Twilight. I won't hurt you," came the voice again.

She opened her eyes in shock before looking up at him. "How...How do you know my name?" She asked.

He chuckled, gently poking her stomach with a finger, making her giggle. "I've heard much about you from Snare-Oh and the other Galactic Monsters," he said. "Also, Rachel said that you and your friends come to visit sometimes."

Twilight nodded, calming down before her curiosity got the best of her. "What kind of alien are you?" She asked curiously. "Also, do you have telekinesis, like Whampire and his brother? And...what do I call you?"

He chuckled again. "A Celestialsapien, yes, and Alien X, in that order," he said, smiling.

Three others that looked very similar to Alien X came in right then. "Ah, so we do have a visitor," said the one with three gold bands on his arms.

"And it's the flying human eagle," said another with a chuckle.

"Ah, we've all heard about this curious one," said the third who had two gold bands on his arms.

Twilight felt a bit shy around all the attention and ducked her head bashfully, but giggled as Alien X tickled her sides playfully. "It's alright," he said. "Those are Zeus, his son Apollo, and Celesto. They are Celestialsapiens like me."

She looked at them and still looked a bit unsure. "Hmm, I think this one could use a Celestialsapien welcome," said Zeus.

"Yes," Apollo said in agreement.

Celesto smiled and snapped his fingers, making all five vanish from the living room and appear up in the attic where the Celestialsapiens lived. Twilight felt a bit woozy from the sudden teleporting and she almost fell over, but strong arms caught her. "Hold on, little one. I've got you," Celesto said, scooping her up so that he was carrying her and he took her over to one of the beds, gently setting her down on it.

The young girl didn't move as she tried to get the room to stop spinning. "Easy, Twilight," said Zeus as he placed a glowing hand on the girl's head gently. She took a deep breath and sighed, feeling much better and she opened her eyes, looking up at the four, who smiled at her.

"Better?" Apollo asked and she nodded.

"Sorry about that," Celesto said contritely. "Didn't mean to make you dizzy."

"It's okay," she said forgivingly as she sat up with them helping her. She then winced and rubbed her neck where a pinched nerve had been bugging her since the day before. Alien X came up and his large hands began massaging her shoulders and neck, making her sigh in relief.

"What happened that your neck is hurting you, Twilight?" He asked.

She sighed. "A bad dream," she said before looking up. "That's actually the reason I came here."

The four Celestialsapiens gathered around her. "What was your dream about?" Zeus asked.

Twilight took a deep breath. "Well, sometime back, before I transferred schools, the principal at my old school bullied me into joining a competition with the school I'm going to now and...I had been curious about a type of magic I had seen signs of at that school." She held up her necklace. "This began gathering up all the magic and then some from some other students and I couldn't understand it at first, but wanted to."

Apollo took a closer look at the necklace. "You built this yourself?" He asked in surprise. "You're very clever, young one."

"Thank you," she said before continuing. "The principal noticed that the device was gathering magic and she and some of my former classmates bullied me into releasing the magic in hopes of them winning the games. But...the magic turned me into...a powerful monster."

She now sighed. "Midnight Sparkle, who was bent on learning more about magic and didn't care how she learned about it."

"Goodness," Alien X said in surprise.

"What happened then?" Celesto asked.

Twilight sighed. "A group of girls who had been nice to me helped me to overcome the powerful magic that had corrupted me and stood by me afterwards," she said. "They helped me conquer my fears about the magic inside of me and helped me to use it for good, but lately...I've been having dreams about Midnight Sparkle and...I guess they're bad dreams but at the same time...I don't know."

"Like you know it's a bad dream but yet it feels off?" Apollo asked.

"Yeah," she said. "Like that. And this was the odd part. It seemed Midnight was trying to be angry, but seemed sad at the same time. I think I even saw her crying."

Alien X grew thoughtful. "Could Midnight have gained a bit more humanity?" He asked. "Similar to how some of our Ben's transformations did long ago?"

"It could be," Zeus said before his hands began glowing. "Twilight, is it alright if I probe your mind to see about this Midnight?"

She looked a bit afraid. "Will it hurt?" She asked.

He shook his head. "I'll be gentle," he promised.

Taking a deep breath, she nodded, surprised that she was trusting him so easily, but it was no doubt because they were being gentle with her and treating her like an old friend. She closed her eyes and Zeus placed his glowing hands on her head, closing his eyes. Moments later, he opened his eyes and nodded. "You were right, Alien X," he said.

"Could it be that Midnight is jealous that she is 'trapped', for lack of a better word, Father?" Apollo asked.

"I believe so," the green-and-white eyed Celestialsapien said.

"If that is the case, can they be separated?" Celesto said. "Without causing injury or harm to either Twilight or Midnight?"

"It will require all four of us, but yes."

Twilight looked up at Alien X, unsure about that, but he gently squeezed her shoulders reassuringly. "It's possible that Midnight could be sad because she is essentially in a prison, Twilight," he said gently. "If she can be separated from you, perhaps it can help you both. A weight lifted off your shoulders and Midnight not feeling so trapped."

"But she's got a lot of power," the girl said, a note of fear in her voice.

"So do we," Apollo said with a smile. "If she does try anything, we can contain her."

"But you must be willing to let us separate Midnight from you, Twilight," Zeus said.

"What do you mean?" She asked.

"It means we won't do the procedure unless you give us your consent," Celesto said gently.

She realized what they meant. It meant putting her trust in them and she bit her lip, her mind deep in thought before she felt a bit of fear take over. Noticing this, Alien X playfully poked her sides, making her squeak. "If you could overcome Midnight before, then you can do so now," he said gently.

She knew he was right and nodded, but still looked tense. "How about that Celestialsapien welcome?" Apollo suggested.

"Good idea," Zeus said with a smirk.

The young girl suddenly found herself pinned to the bed with telekinesis while her shoes were removed and fingers wiggled into her neck and stomach, making her squeal with laughter.

"AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA! THAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAT TIHIHIHIHIHIHIHIHIHIHIHIHIHIHICKLES!" She laughed out, letting out another squeal when strong fingers gently squeezed her knees and ten fingers wiggled all over her feet.

"Cootchie, cootchie, coo!" Alien X cooed to her.

"What a ticklish little one!" Zeus said, lifting up the girl's shirt just enough to expose her belly button and blowing a raspberry right over her belly button, making her shriek with laughter.

"And it looks like she can't stand raspberries," Celesto said with a laugh as he tickled her calves now.

Apollo was twirling a feather over Twilight's feet, chuckling as she giggled and tried to pull her feet away from his tickling hands, but she was trapped. Raspberries to her neck and stomach made her squeal once again before she felt them stop. She looked up at them as some leftover giggles escaped her. "Feel better?" Apollo asked her.

She nodded before looking earnest. "You guys can really separate Midnight from me?" She asked.

"Yes," Zeus said with a smile.

She nodded again. "Okay."

Alien X helped her to lie down while Celesto gently removed the girl's glasses and Apollo gently pinched a nerve in Twilight's neck. "Sleep, young one," the green-and-gold eyed Celestialsapien said gently.

She closed her eyes and was soon fast asleep.

An hour later...

Twilight woke up and felt someone place her glasses back on her face and she looked up to see Celesto smiling at her. "Did you have a good nap?" He asked.

She nodded and noticed she didn't feel as weighed down anymore. "Did you guys get her out?" She asked.

He pointed over to a white semi-transparent sphere that was over by the other three Celestialsapiens and Twilight jumped at seeing Midnight viciously pounding at the sphere, tears streaming down her face. "How could you?!" She screamed at the girl she had been part of, who flinched. "I'm a part of you!"

"You were," Alien X said gently. "But not anymore. You're your own person now."

"NO!" Midnight screamed again, beating on the sphere as her tears came faster and harder.

Apollo looked at Twilight. "I think you were right, Twilight. She's very sad, but uses anger to hide that sadness," he said.

The girl looked at her counterpart, who didn't seem so evil now. She then noticed Midnight's hands looked hurt. "She's hurting herself," she said in concern.

"Hmm," Celesto said. "Master Zeus, perhaps we should calm this young one down."

"Agreed," Zeus said. "Let's get her over where Twilight is."

The girl went to stand up and felt Apollo gently tug her arm so that she was behind him. Seeing he did this in case Midnight attacked, she gave him a grateful look before watching as Zeus reached into the sphere and grabbed Midnight by clamping his hands over her upper arms, pinning her arms to her sides. Midnight let out a scream that sounded like one of fear and struggled, but white cuffs appeared around her ankles and wrists. "What are those?" Twilight asked curiously.

"Energy cuffs," Alien X explained. "They keep someone in place and prevent them from using their powers."

Midnight looked even more frightened now. "Let me go!" She demanded.

"Calm down," Celesto said as he and Zeus placed her on the bed, the energy cuffs forcing Midnight's arms over her head, leaving her on her back. Her wings were frozen too and she winced as she felt pressure on them, but then her wings seemed to move on their own, tucking into her so that it didn't hurt to rest on them. She looked to see the four Celestialsapiens reaching for her with their hands all glowing white.

"No!" She screamed, fear in her voice as they came closer, tears falling down her face. "Leave me alone! Let me go!"

A hand came over her mouth. "Shh," Apollo said gently, feeling her shiver. "Calm down, Midnight."

"She's terrified," Zeus said, his voice filled with sympathy.

"Let's take care of that fear," Alien X suggested.

Midnight squeezed her eyes shut as she trembled, feeling powerless. Suddenly, she felt an odd sensation on her side and it made her giggle. "Ah, good. She's ticklish too," Celesto said with a chuckle.

"Tickle her good then," Zeus said.

As Twilight watched, the four aliens tickled the winged girl and she burst into laughter, a squeal escaping her when Apollo tickled her ears. "Oh, it seems her ears are very ticklish," he said.

"Good," Alien X said. "Tickle, tickle, tickle!"

"AHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!" Midnight laughed. "STOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOHOP!"

"Nope," Celesto said.

Twilight smiled as she came forward, hearing her counterpart laugh. "I didn't know she was ticklish," she admitted.

"No doubt something she got from you," Zeus said with a chuckle. "Which makes it easier to do this."

He blew a raspberry into her neck, making the winged girl squeal again. "Cootchie, cootchie, coo!" He cooed in her ear.

They had her laughing for a while before letting her up and she looked at them all, unsure as the energy cuffs disappeared. She looked at Twilight before looking away. "Well, I guess it was going to happen anyway," she said.

"What?" Twilight asked.

"You'd get rid of me."

They were surprised she said that before seeing tears come to Midnight's eyes. "You hate me and...it's because of what I am," she said.

"So it is true," Apollo said. "You did gain humanity from Twilight."

Twilight went up to her counterpart, who flinched in fear, her wings coming around her to act like a shield. The young scientist saw how hurt the winged girl was and looked at the Celestialsapiens. "Can you help her?" She asked softly. "She doesn't seem evil now. Just...sad."

Alien X nodded. "I think I know something that can help," he said, his hands glowing again. The other three caught his idea and nodded, their hands glowing too as before Twilight's and Midnight's eyes, the winged girl began transforming.

"What's happening?!" The winged girl asked in fear, curling up in a ball.

Twilight gasped as Midnight's wings went from dark purple to the same color of her skin, her fiery eyemask becoming an aqua blue velvet eyemask, and her clothing changed to a pink t-shirt, royal purple jeans, and black flats. Midnight looked at herself and gasped, gasping louder when she saw herself in a nearby mirror. She brought her wings around her again, but Zeus rested gentle hands on her shoulders.

"Don't hide, little one," he said soothingly, rubbing her back.

"But...," she tried to protest, but giggled as fingers wiggled into the base of her wings. She squirmed to get away, but the tickles were making that difficult as her wings unfurled and the muscular Celestialsapien picked her up, holding her like a young child.

Just then, Rachel came upstairs and she smiled, having been told what was going on by Alien X, who had contacted her telepathically. "Am I right to assume we have a new little one joining the family?" She asked.

Midnight looked up in shock at that, but Twilight smiled. "Are you okay with her staying here?" She asked. "She's...not evil like she was."

"I know," Rachel said gently. "Alien X told me everything."

Midnight flinched and her wings curled around her again, but Zeus rubbed her back before looking thoughtful. "You know, I have been thinking about adopting a little one," he said after a moment.

Apollo smiled at that, looking at Midnight. "I think she'd fit in well," he said.

"What?" The winged girl asked in shock before shaking her head. "No. No, I...I can't."

Fingers wiggled into her side, making her giggle. "We believe you can, but perhaps finding forgiveness would help you," Alien X said before looking at Twilight, who realized what he meant. She nodded.

"Midnight?" She said gently, making her counterpart look at her. "It's okay. I forgive you."

Hearing that made tears fall down from Midnight's eyes and her horn suddenly glowed and melted away, the magic flowing down her arms and stopping at her wrists, transforming into beautiful crystal bracelets. She looked shocked at this and looked at Twilight, who was also surprised, but then smiled, hugging Midnight, who jumped a little, but slowly hugged her back and Zeus hugged them both.

Rachel smiled. "Looks like it's official," she said. "Midnight, you've not only been adopted by Zeus, but you've been given an amazing gift."

The girl looked at her curiously. "What gift is that?" She asked.

The older woman smiled. "The gift of a second chance."

Twilight nodded and Apollo gently ruffled Midnight's hair, which made her giggle. "Welcome to the family, little sister," he said.

The winged girl looked bashful at that, feeling her new father's arms come around her. "Welcome to the family, my little comet," he said.

She smiled, liking that nickname as she relaxed in his hug, feeling lighter than she had before.
