Prologue

Two types of humans exist in this world. One of them was the majority of people who lived ordinary lives. They were known as the Unmarked Ones or UOs for short. But then some people that are like me. People who have a peculiar mark on their bodies. These marks are the primary source of our elemental powers. We were known as the Marked People or MPs for short.

For centuries, there have been conflicts between the UOs and the MPs. From disagreements to full-blown wars, there hasn't been a time when both groups were at peace. Some local governments wanted to execute and kill off anyone who had those strange marks on their bodies. From what I discovered, a few countries in Africa, Southeast Asia, and the Middle East were in favor of killing off MPs. A tiny number of countries did succeed.

As the years went by, the genocides reduced, but the discrimination continued. In different parts of the world, they would resort to separation and segregation. Despite being other minority groups, MPs were the ones who got treated the worst. In some countries, they would throw us into internment camps, so they could quarantine us until that was illegal.

I also learned that MPs weren't allowed to attend regular universities or colleges. Why? Our powers don't begin to develop until our late teenage years. My parents told me that a typical university doesn't have the resources to accept us into their institution for safety reasons.

The only university that allowed MPs to have a decent secondary education was Celeste University. Both my parents and my grandparents went to that university at my age and graduated. What was more impressive was how my parents and their friends banded together and become part of an organization that helps MPs. Even though they were ordinary university students, the society became a base for Marked People Rights and led to greater things.

This group was known as the Celestial Society. Before being that well-known organization for Marked People Rights, they were a vigilante group that would help defend the city from peril. They learned about the dark secrets of the only university for MPs and focused their energy on stopping a dangerous threat in their school.

Nowadays, the relationship between the UOs and the MPs has improved drastically because of them. Fewer conflicts between both groups followed. Hate groups towards MPs still existed, which wasn't a surprise. For the most part, it's more comfortable to have a normal life because of our unique birthmarks.

What about Celeste University? Not surprisingly, the first university for MPs is still open to this day. The new administrators are determined to prove that Celeste University was a safe place for students. They acknowledged the institution's dark past from several hundreds of years ago. At least, there are more university and college options for MPs like myself. I haven't figured out where I'm going for college, but I still have another year to figure all of that out.

This is the end of the prologue for Celestial Society. It has been about 2 years since I have done a full-length story and also it's also my first MFB story since last year. Yes, I will be accepting OCs, but I'm going to only need 8 OCs because I think that is a 10 is a decent amount for this particular story. There is a guide for the story and an OC form on the bottom of my profile because it's a lot of information and it was the only place I could put it.

In regards to the prologue, I wanted to try something a little different. I wanted to provide basic background information about the story but told from the perspective of a teenager, who's also a child of one of the characters. But the main story is based on what his or her parents have experienced in the university.

Edit # 2: I also forgot to mention that it is okay for an OC to have the same element like another character if there Constellation Mark is different. I will also explain in the first chapter how rare it is to see characters with the same element and Constellation since there two characters who share the element and Constellation Marks (you guys may have an idea who can that be). God Marks are also an exception since there Gods who control a specific element and it would be weird to see God Marks with elements that don't correspond with their respective elements.
