UA High School, Classroom 1-A- In preparation for their homeroom period the students spend their time socialising, reading and studying and, in Kyoka Jirou's case, listening to music.

She leans back at her desk, tapping her foot to the beats coming in from the earphone buds in her ears.

She is approached by Denki Kaminari, who smiles and waves at her, catching her attention.

Kaminari: Hey Jirou, what are you…

He becomes silent when he notices the earphones.

Kaminari: Uh…

An annoyed Jirou scowls at him.

Jirou: What.

Kaminari apologetically smiles.

Kaminari: Nothing! It's just… are those earphones?

Jirou takes a bud out of her ear and inspects them.

Jirou: Oh, these? Yeah they're new.

He tilts his head curiously.

Kaminari: I thought you didn't need them because of your Quirk and everything.

Somewhat depressed, she unplugs the earphones from her phone and shows him the charging port.

Jirou: My old phone died on me so my parents got me a new one. The problem was that the new models don't support the old jack anymore so I have to use these specially designed earphones instead.

Kaminari takes a seat beside her.

Kaminari: Sounds harsh.

Jirou: Yeah, it sucks. Do you want to know the worst part though? They're really uncomfortable.

She plugs her earphones in and goes back to listening to her music.

Kaminari tries to look at her phone screen but she shields it away from him.

Kaminari: So, what are you listening too?

Jirou: It's retro. You wouldn't like it. Most people only care for the new stuff anyway.

He shrugs in acceptance.

Kaminari: Yeah, you're probably right.

A few days later, Jirou is once again at her desk, listening to music as she waits for class to start.

She is once again approached by Kaminari. He pulls up a chair and sits next to her.

Kaminari: Hey Jirou, I was thinking about what you said the other day and well…

He pulls a small present out of his jacket pocket.

Kaminari: I got you something.

Jirou is apprehensive about taking the gift but Kaminari is eager.

Kaminari: Go on, open it!

She tears off the wrapping and finds a box containing a small cable inside.

Confused, she turns to face him.

Jirou: What is it?

Kaminari: It's an earphone adapter. It fits into your charging port but allows you to plug in your earphone jacks, that way you can use your ears like normal.

She takes it out of the box and plugs it into her phone and then plugs in one of her ear jacks like she was putting on a new glove.

Kaminari: Turns out, retro tech is more popular than you'd initially think. Some people actually like the old stuff if you can believe.

She smiles.

Jirou: Thanks Kaminari, that's actually really sweet of you.

Jirou then notices that the adapter has space for two jacks.

Jirou: Hey, what's the other space for?

Kaminari smiles and pulls out a set of earphones.

Kaminari: Retro music's quite popular too. People really dig those oldies.

She smiles and allows him to plug in his earphones. The two proceed to listen to music together, their heads inching closer together.

Kaminari: These guys, seriously?

Jirou: Shut up.

Kaminari: It's alright. I actually like this song.

Jirou: Good.

End.

I intended this to be a Christmas story but I figure you can read it without the connection. This was a short drabble that I wrote from the top of my head so I hope you enjoyed it. Please leave a review and check out my other stories.
