I'm Not Leaving You
Pairing: Artoria Pendragon (Lancer) x Jeanne
Genre: Drama
Disclaimer: I do not own the Fate Series or any of it's characters.
Author's Note: Welp…I got inspired by this…Halo moment between Chief and Cortana…something my dear friend Mike Powell showed me. So…this little one shot is similar to that, but Jeanne doesn't die or anything like that. I hate death…especially if it involves females. That hurts way worse…
A-anyways, please enjoy.
A long hard battle finally ends. Artoria "Lancer" Pendragon and Jeanne D' Arc fought hard against a shadow servant that was a couple times stronger than them, but thanks to their teamwork, they managed to defeat the servant and she fades away. Unfortunately, the Shadow Servant, who was in an Assassin class, injured Jeanne pretty badly and Artoria finished her off as revenge. After doing that, Artoria runs to the French Saint's aid, gently taking her hand.
"We did it," Artoria says softly, still keeping her stoic, cool personality. Kings shouldn't cry. "We won, Jeanne."
"Really…?" Jeanne whispers as her eyes are half-lidded, but she still manages to look at the Lion King with a small smile. "Thank….goodness." She winces at the pain in her chest that the Assassin hit her. "Oh, dear….Artoria…My King…I'm so sorry. I'm afraid…I'm not going to make it…"
"I'm not….leaving you here…" Artoria says, gripping her hand tighter.
"It's too late…" Jeanne whispers as a faint glow appears on her body. "That Assassin did enough damage to me…so I don't have much time left." She uses all of her strength to lift her hand up and caress the Lion King's cheek. She smiles a weak smile as a lone tear falls from her cheek. "Before I go…I've always…always…wanted to do this. I…love you, Artoria. For as long as I have known you, I have felt this way. I have enjoyed coming to Camelot to visit you. I have enjoyed all the fun times we shared. I will treasure all of it forever."
Saying those words makes Artoria's heartbreak. But she shakes her head, blinking away tears that are about to fall from her eyes. She takes a few deep breaths. "There…might be another way to undo this."
"Eh?"
"I can still save you, Jeanne," the King says as she puts her gloved hand on Jeanne's. "Maybe it's not too late after all."
"What exactly…do you mean?" Jeanne questions.
Artoria smiles a beautiful smile. "This….is what I mean." She leans in and gives a passionate kiss on the lips.
Jeanne's eyes widen as a yellow glow appears on both her and Artoria's bodies. Sparkles shimmer as Artoria kisses her more passionately by the minute. The glow grows brighter and brighter and thus, Jeanne eagerly accepts the kiss. It feels so right…so soothing that she can feel more relaxed and refreshed. She can no longer feel any pain. The kiss is all it took to heal her wounds.
After they break the kiss, the glow fades and Jeanne is in perfect condition now. Looking up at her King, she gazes at her beautiful eyes. Artoria smiles a gentle smile, caressing her cheek with a nod. Jeanne is so happy that she starts crying for joy and embraces her tightly.
"You saved me…!" the French Saint says. "Thank you….thank you very much, My King!"
"It's no problem," the bustier blonde replies, returning the embrace and stroking her long, golden tresses. "Transferring my mana into you was the only way. I didn't want to lose you."
They remain in each other's arms for what it seems like hours. Both of the blondes want this moment to last forever, but they need to leave at some point since the battle is over. They pull away and gaze into each other's eyes.
"If you'd like, I wish to escort you back to Camelot with me," the King says.
"I would love to~" Jeanne replies.
They intertwine hands and lean in to give each other one final kiss.
