"Hey mom can I borrow $50?" Ralph asked his mother as she made lunch "why?" she asked placing the plate of sandwiches on the table in front of the boy "I want to take Patty on a date" he answered, Paige sighed and pulled out a $50 dollar note along with a burner phone from under the sink she placed the items on the table "be back be 11 O'clock got it" she said sternly "got it, thanks mom" Ralph ate his food and went to his room to dress into his black suit he folded the red pocket square and placed it in the breast pocket with a fresh rose, he combed his hair back and brushed his teeth before practicing what to say in the mirror for half an hour then again combed his hair. Finally 8 O'clock came and a knock sounded from the door Ralph ran to answer it "hello Patty" "Hi Ralph" she wore a black dress with detached sleeves and flats, he quickly stuffed the phone and money in his pocket before leavening with the girl.
Ralph took Patty to a local café it was fancy, white walls and gold painted details, tables littered the floor all with white table cloths and gold tassel rims on the far wall where booths in large archways Ralph walked up to the man at the center "Name" he asked not looking up from his paper "Ralph Dineen" the man looked up "follow me" he lead the kids to one of the booths they sat down "menus" he handed them two black folders and walked off "well he's , dull" Patty muttered Ralph nodded in agreement and begin to read his choses. After putting down the menus Flick walked up to the table "hello I'm Flick I will be your waitress for today thanks for choosing white gold manner can I take your order?" she didn't look at from her notepad but her voice was chirpy "Flick?" Ralph said a little astonished she looked up "Ralph! wait whos the girl?" "Patty this is Flick, Flick this is Patty" he interduce the two "hello Patty" " hello Flick" "now your orders?" "oh yes I will have the pumpkin soup and sandwiches" Patty asked Flick jotted it down "I will have the same" Ralph said and Flick wrote a '(2x)' next the order before walking off "so who she?" "my step ante her brother is dating my mom" he explanted "that makes sense." Flick came back a little later carrying the dishes of chose "here you go don't worry about payment I already done that" and left the children ate there food after they where done they talked about how good the food was, how life was treating them and how there family's where. Time went by like water and it was getting late "maybe you should get home" Patty suggested Ralph nodded in agreement and they walked outside the cold air made the girl shiver Ralph took off his jacket and draped it over her shoulders "thanks" she said throw chattering teeth "you should warm up in one or two minutes" Ralph calculated and they began to walk. Ralph waved patty good bye at her door taking back his jacket but leavening the rose Patty leaned down just before her left placing a soft kiss on his cheek causing him to blush slightly "thanks" she shut the door and like that he was alone he began to walk down the street only stopping as Walters car pulled over "get in kid" Flick said and he obediently did so "where did you learn to drive?" he quizzled as the ride was smooth odd for a 14 year old "Mexico" the answer was short but satisfying Flick dropped Ralph off and drived away he walked in and went strate to bed.
